Rules of Love Page 5

He used the other bathroom and showered. Tonight, he was taking his wife out on the town to celebrate, but he refused to drink. He wanted to remember every moment with his beautiful wife.

Amber cleared her throat. “Your first official order of duty as my husband. You have to make a decision about something.”

“And what’s that, dear?” he asked.

With her standing in the door with the short pink satin robe on, he would say yes to anything.

“Should I wear this under my dress or this?”

She held up two different sets of lingerie. Both would keep him thinking about making love to her all night.

“That’s a hard decision. I want to say go with nothing, but with those C cups, you need some support. Go with the red. Red seems to be your color.”

She laughed. “Good choice. Give me about fifteen and I’ll be ready.”

Thirty minutes later, Elliot was driving them down the Las Vegas strip to a hibachi restaurant.

They ate, and each had only one glass of wine. Since it was their last night in Vegas, they decided to hit the tables and slot machines. They started out at the tables, and Jason wasn’t too happy about losing a few hundred dollars playing blackjack.

He watched Amber put her dollars in the slot machine. He tried to cheer her on, but she wasn’t having any luck winning either.

“This is my last dollar,” she said. “I’ll put it in, and you pull the lever.”

After she placed the dollar bill in the slot, Jason pulled the lever. They were getting ready to walk away when they saw the sevens match. Not only did they match, they were all in the same color. The bright light above the slot machine spun around as the machine started making noises. Jackpot was displayed at the top of the screen. Amber grabbed the ticket that slid out of the machine with her winning amount on it.

They held each other as they jumped up and down in excitement.

“I can’t believe it, we won two thousand dollars,” Amber said.

Jason and Amber celebrated their winnings by going directly to their room. “Wow, I just realized that I’m no longer Amber Simone. That means I have to get all of my legal documents changed.”

“For now, you can keep everything as Simone.”

Amber’s smile went away. “You know what? You’re right. That way, when the marriage gets annulled, I won’t have to go through the hassle of getting it changed back.”

Jason could kick himself. He hadn’t meant to offend her by his comment. “That’s not what I meant, Amber. All of this happened so fast, that’s all. Yes, you can take care of it, but no rush.”

Amber threw both of her hands in the air. “Whatever. I’m going to pack because our plane leaves early in the morning, and I don’t want to rush.”

“I need to make sure our driver will be here to pick us up at seven. I’m also ordering a few appetizers because I’ve gotten hungry again. Do you want anything?”

“No.” Amber walked to her bedroom, but before going in, she stopped and turned around. “On second thought, I think I will. Order some mozzarella sticks and hot wings.”

  “Anything else?” Jason asked.

  “No, that will be all.”

“Just doing my husband duties of making sure my wife has everything she wants.”

“Good job so far. Although we need to work on your etiquette.”

  “Excuse me?”

“See, that attitude of yours could use an adjustment,” Amber stated.

“And here I thought I was perfect.”

“Jason, even with your flaws, I think you are perfect,” Amber said before leaving Jason alone with his thoughts.

  * * * * *

Amber went through her messages while waiting on their food to come. She needed a distraction. Her emotions were all over the place. She was being caught up in the facade of a marriage. It wasn’t too late to tell her parents to cancel the reception.

She called her father, but got voice mail. She dialed her mother’s number.

“Hi, sweetie. I was just thinking of you. What colors would you like for your reception?”

“Mom, that’s what I wanted to call you about. I think you should cancel it. This marriage isn’t going to work. Let’s face it. We were both drunk. Neither one of us knew what we were doing.”

“Maybe not, but alcohol can sometimes make people say and do what they really want in the first place. It removes the filter,” her mom said.

“But is it fair of me to make Jason stay in this if he doesn’t want to?”

“He should have thought of that before he got you drunk.”

“Mom, he didn’t get me drunk. I drank because I wanted to.”

“He’s the man, and he should have been more responsible then.”

“Mom, there’s no debate. I got careless and this is what happened. Plus, he did give me a ring that even you would approve of. So he’s trying to do the right thing.” Amber found herself taking up for Jason.

“Tell me this. Do you like him just a little bit?” she asked.

Amber let out a heavy sigh before continuing. “He can be so full of himself, yet he makes everyone feels comfortable around him. When he walks into the room, he demands attention, but pretends not to notice his effect on people.”

  “Sounds like your dad.”

“No, Dad isn’t as bad as Jason.”

“You see your dad through your eyes. You’re his daughter. I’m his wife. Trust me. Your dad can be a piece of work. But I love every inch of his body.”

“Mom, I think this is where our conversation needs to end.” Amber laughed.

“You’re right. Because I need to go freshen up. He’ll be home any minute, and I have to make sure I’m all dolled up.”

“I’m serious. I’m about to hang up.”

“Bye, sweetie. And stop stressing. Enjoy. You never know. You might not want an annulment after all.”

Amber stared at the phone as she thought about what her mom had said.

  Chapter Eleven

Jason heard the shower running. He removed his clothes and entered the bathroom. He stood and watched Amber run the soapy towel over her body.

He opened up the shower door.

She jumped, startled. “Jason, you scared me.”

“I told you, the next shower you took, I was joining you.” He stepped into the shower behind her. He became immediately aroused as their bodies touched underneath the stream of hot water.

“I thought you were kidding. I’ve never showered with a guy before,” Amber admitted as she adjusted her shower cap.

“I’m honored to be your first.” Jason took the towel from her. “Let me do the washing.”

“Be careful. I don’t want my hair to get wet.”

“If it does, I’ll dry it for you,” Jason responded.

Amber now faced him. He used the soapy towel to wash the front of her body. He took his time washing each breast. He bent down and placed one of her nipples in his mouth as he used his other hand to wash the other breast with the towel.

  “Oooh, Jason.”

“What, baby?” Jason stopped sucking on her nipple to say. He continued to suck on her nipple while looking up at her to see her reaction.

Her eyes squinted, and he watched as she bit her bottom lip.

Jason stopped sucking on her nipple and used the towel to wash her stomach. Their eyes locked. He placed the towel between her legs and gently rubbed the inside of her. He wasn’t ready to make her come yet.

  “Turn around,” Jason said.

  Amber did as instructed.

He put more soap on the towel as he washed her back. He replaced the feel of the towel with his lips as he kissed her back. Whatever spot the towel touched, his lips touched.

His eyes were glued to her voluptuous round bottom. He wiped each
cheek in a circular motion.

After a thorough washing, Jason got on his knees. He used his hands and gently parted Amber’s legs.

“Jason, what are you doing?” she asked in a low tone.

  “Shh. Relax. Just enjoy.”

He positioned himself in a way where he could taste her nectar from the back.

Amber held on to the wall as she slid down further on his face.

“Ooooh, Jason. Baby, please don’t stop. That’s it…I’m coming. I’m coming, Jason. I think I’m going to fall.” Amber kept saying those words repeatedly.

Jason could feel her legs trembling, so he used his other arm to help hold her up until he thoroughly pleasured her with his mouth.

Jason stood, then slid inside of Amber from the back. She continued to use the shower wall to hold herself up as he stroked her. He kissed the back of her neck as the water glided down her back.

“Ooooh,” was the only thing Amber managed to say.

Jason had her head spinning as he continued to thrust in and out of her. Amber’s legs weakened as they shook. The orgasm could be felt from her head to her toes. Jason wrapped his arm around her waist and held her.

“I love you,” she thought she heard Jason say as they climaxed together.

Her mind could have been playing tricks on her too, so she didn’t bring it up. Instead, she wanted to enjoy the last few hours of being secluded in their hotel room.

Two hours later, they were seated next to each other on the plane headed back to Los Angeles.

The same flight attendant served them.

“So, did you enjoy Vegas?” the flight attendant asked Jason.

Jason looked at Amber and then back at the flight attendant. He picked up Amber’s hand and held it up. “I sure did.”

The smile on the flight attendant’s face disappeared. “Is that a wedding ring?”

Amber held her hand out and leaned closer toward her. “Yes. It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”

“It’s nice. Real nice,” she stuttered.

  Amber laughed inside.

Jason said, “We did it. We tied the knot.”

“I didn’t even know you were a couple.”

Jason wrapped his arm around Amber’s shoulders. “Now you do.”

“Enjoy your flight,” she snapped before walking away to assist another person.

Amber laughed. “See, I told you she was trying to flirt with you. Now she can report to the others that you are off-limits. Because Jason Lewis, as long as we are married, you are all mine. I don’t share. So tell all of those women you’ve been messing with, you are now off the market.”

“What other women? The moment I met you, they no longer existed in my world.”

“Good answer.” Amber gave Jason a quick peck on the lips.

When she caught the flight attendant looking in their direction, the peck turned into a long, sensual kiss. Amber then winked at the flight attendant before leaning back in her seat and looking out the window. Jason grabbed her hand and held it as the plane headed to their home destination.

  Chapter Twelve

“There they are,” Jason heard someone shout the moment they stepped inside the airport.

“Amber, I think we’re about to be in a media storm. So smile and hold on to my arm. I got this, okay, baby?”

“I don’t know if I’m ready for this. My brother’s the one who’s always in the news, not me.”

“You are. Just smile and keep looking forward. Do you have any sunglasses?”

“Yes.” Amber fumbled through her purse. She replaced her glasses with her sunglasses.

“Remember, smile. Don’t let go of my arm.”

Jason was right in his assessment. The cameramen who were lined up were waiting on them.

“Amber, how does your dad feel about your unexpected wedding?” one of the reporters asked.

“Amber, are you pregnant? Is that why you rushed to get married?”

“Jason, how does it feel to make the news?”

Jason could feel Amber slowing down, so he slowed down too. “Just keep walking and smiling,” Jason whispered to Amber.

“I’m trying not to hit one of these reporters,” she said between clenched teeth.

“I know what you mean,” Jason responded.

The reporters followed them until airport security intervened.

“It’s about time. You guys need to do a better job of stopping the vultures,” Amber complained.

“Ma’am, we’re sorry,” one of the guards responded.

“Come on, babe.” Jason held Amber’s hand as they each pulled their individual suitcases.

When they arrived at the parking garage, Jason hit a button on his keys, and the sound of an alarm chirped. He hit another button for the trunk. The back of a black sports car opened up.

“This is nice,” Amber said. “I like this.”

“Really? I sort of took you for the sedan type.”

“Please, you haven’t seen my ride.”

Jason placed their bags in the trunk. He held Amber’s door open and she got inside.

Once behind the driver’s wheel, Jason realized that he didn’t know where to go.

He started the car but didn’t move. He scratched his head. “Now that we are married, whose house will we be living at?”

“I hadn’t thought about that.” Amber threw her hand up. “Just drop me off at my house and you can stay at your house. We don’t actually have to live in the same place, do we?”

“It would look good if we did.”

“Nobody cares about that. Drop me off, and we’ll get together sometime this week before the wedding reception.”

Jason tried not to sound disappointed about Amber’s nonchalant way of dealing with the situation, but he was. He didn’t want to just drop her off. He didn’t want to be away from her. He needed her. He wanted her. He needed her to want him too.

“Keep driving,” Amber stated when she saw some reporters camped out at her house.

“You can always stay at my place,” Jason said.

“It’s either there or a hotel. I want to avoid the hotels, so I guess, Mr. Lewis, you have a house guest.”

Amber slid down in the seat as they drove right past the reporters.

  “It’s clear,” Jason said.

Amber scooted up in her seat. She looked behind her. “They are going to be disappointed when they realize I’m not at home.”

“I just bought this house, so hardly anyone knows about it.”

“What does a bachelor need with a house?”

“I work hard, and being in a relationship shouldn’t be a requirement for me to buy a house. You weren’t in a relationship when you bought your beach house,” Jason noted.

“But it’s small. It’s not some gigantic mansion.”

“Who said mine was gigantic?” Jason asked as he continued to drive.

  “How many bedrooms?”

  “There are only five bedrooms.”

“Five. What does a single man need with five bedrooms?”

Jason held his hand out and twisted it in her direction. “I’m no longer single.”

“For real. Why not just buy a condo or a town house?”

“Because one day I did hope to have a wife and three kids.”

Amber laughed. “I can picture you with a wife. But kids? No, not Mr. Jason Lewis. Mr. Suit-and-Tie Guy.”

“I can dress down when I need to.”

Amber looked at him with an “I don’t believe you” look.

She leaned back in her seat and smiled at the thought of Jason and her with kids of their own.

  Chapter Thirteen

“See, we’re practically neighbors,” Jason said as he pulled up into his subdivision in Malibu, not that far from the beach where Amber liv
ed.

“I see. I like the houses in this area,” she commented.

Jason drove around the circular driveway and parked in front. He removed their bags from the trunk and opened the front door. “Welcome home, Amber.”

And Jason meant just what he said. He wanted Amber to feel like this place was her home too.

“It’s beautiful. You have good taste,” Amber said.

“I sure do.” He looked at her when he responded.

Amber cleared her throat. “Where will I be sleeping?”

“With me, of course. Well, unless you have a problem with that?”

“You’ll get no objections from me.”

Amber left Jason standing at the foot of the stairway as she went to explore.

“I’ll be back after I put our luggage in our room.”

“I’ll be down here being nosy,” Amber responded.

Since being in his new place, no other woman besides family or close friends had stepped inside of it. Amber was the first woman he’d been intimate with enough to be there.

He had hired an interior designer referred by Charlotte to help him decorate. It was well worth the money. He didn’t have the time to take care of the nuisances because he was too busy taking care of his clients’ nuisances.

He had just realized that since being with Amber, he had hardly looked at his cell phone. Before, he practically lived with the cell phone in his hand.

“Jason, this really is a nice place,” Amber said from behind him.

“How long have you been standing there?” Jason asked.

“Not long. I decided to come check out where I’ll be laying my head.”

“As you can see, there’s plenty of room in here.”

A black-and-white comforter, along with several pillows, covered the chestnut king-size bed with high wooden bedposts.

In the far right corner was a long chaise near the floor-length window. A small bookshelf was built into the wall and was filled with books by some of Jason’s favorite authors.

Amber removed a book from the bookshelf. “So, you weren’t lying about reading all of those books?”
