by Anne Carol

I made several playlists for this novel. Some were purely for inspiration, some reflected the tone and era of the story. This list is a compilation of songs that to some extent go along with the plot as well as display the type of music David and Beth would’ve listened to during the years 1979-1980.

  “American Girl” – Tom Petty

  “London Calling” – The Clash

  “Dreams” - Fleetwood Mac

“Here Comes the Sun” – The Beatles

“Wild Horses” – The Rolling Stones

“Crazy Little Thing Called Love” – Queen

“God Save The Queen” – The Sex Pistols

  “Shadowplay” – Joy Division

  “I Got A Woman” - Ray Charles

“Dance the Night Away” – Van Halen

“Shake Your Groove Thing” – Peaches & Herb

“I Just Fall In Love Again” - The Carpenters

  “Head Games” – Foreigner

  “Something” – The Beatles

  “Love Song” – The Damned

  “Heartache Tonight” – Eagles

  “Feelin’ Satisfied” - Boston

  “Suddenly” – Olivia Newton-John

  To be continued …

  NEVER FALL

  THE FAITHFULLY YOURS SERIES: TWO

  (PREVIEW)

It was taking everything in me to concentrate on my studies. Maybe it was the howling wind outside. Or perhaps it was the huge pile of chores I had yet to finish. Those would’ve been believable excuses, but I knew the real reason for my distraction: I felt completely empty inside. Emotionally drained. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d experienced this much pain, if ever.

I knew I had to get on with my life; that in time my grief would lessen, but I also knew I’d never get over it, and I would never forget the way I felt right now.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. Everything was supposed to be perfect. But I guess you can’t plan for these things.

After reading the same sentence five times, I gave up and took a walk around the room. I stopped in front of the window and peered out at the darkening sky.

Was this all a huge mistake? Should I have just gone with the original plan?

But then I saw him; he was about to come up the steps to the front door—my reason for living. No, it couldn’t have been a mistake. Things happened the way they were supposed to, and we would have to get through this tough time, together.

At the outset this book would not have been possible without a great deal of help and support.

First and foremost, I thank God for the gift of writing. Though it took a few decades to fully embrace this gift, I’m incredibly grateful to be able to entertain myself and others through storytelling.

A big thanks to my husband for putting up with my mood swings, poor time management, and frequent distractions. I appreciate everything you’ve done to help me with this project, from taking the kids off my hands to occasionally offering a man’s perspective. I love you.

Thank you, my two wonderful and unique sons, for being patient every time you had to wait “a few minutes” while I finished writing a scene. You mean the world to me, and I pray that someday, you will each find your passion and pursue it to the fullest extent.

To my parents and parents-in-law, you give generously of your love and support, not to mention your constant help with the kids. You are always there when I need you, and for that I’m extremely thankful.

Thank you Paul, my big brother, for teaching me how to navigate the waters of all things dealing with social media. I declare you to be my official marketing consultant.

I’m blessed to have many friends in all areas of my life. Without your words of encouragement, I might not have continued with this project. I’d like to give special mention to my good friend Karen, who inspired me to write this book “for real”. I also want to acknowledge my friends and co-workers, Carol and Kelli, who enthusiastically listened to me read the lengthy rough draft as well as countless random scenes for future books. You two kept me motivated, even on days I wasn’t “feeling it”.

A big round of applause to my beta readers - Kristen, Paul, Tara, Sharon, Holly, Stacy, Kathryn, Hannah, Cirina, and Heidi. Your feedback was priceless, and I hope you enjoy the final product.

Thanks to any and all authors who have given me advice on this new journey of writing and publishing, especially my friend Bria Starr. I love our chats on Facebook! You have the honor of being my first author friend.

I want to thank Heather Marsh from Classic Editing. You are a talented editor who gave me a much-needed road map and helped me bridge the gap between writing as a hobby to writing as a profession.

To my brilliant editor, Rachel of Romance Refined. I’m glad Google led me to you! How do I even begin to thank you? You’ve taught me so much about the writing craft. I appreciate your honest, yet diplomatic feedback. You believed in me when I sometimes didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for all your hard work and for answering my endless questions.

To Stephanie, a book is never complete without good proofreading! Thank you for giving my manuscript the last much-needed polish.

Regina Wamba/Mae I Design and Photography, I’m still in awe of the beautiful covers you made for Never Let Go as well as the three books to follow. What an amazing gift you have; the covers are exactly what I had in mind.

To my cover models, Michael and Chloe: when I look at my covers, not only do I see Beth and David, but I can feel the emotion and chemistry between them. Thank you for doing a perfect job of representing my characters.

Thank you to my formatters, E.M. Tippetts Book Designs, for making the interior of my book come alive, both in digital and print formats.

When I first began writing, I didn’t give a thought to publicity, but as my project neared completion, I became overwhelmed by the prospect of marketing my book. Enticing Journey Book Promotions, you were exactly what I needed to spearhead my social media advertising. Thanks for spreading the word about my “book baby”.

A huge thanks to Andrea for promoting my book on Facebook and for making many wonderful book teasers. Your dedication and support are much appreciated.

Thank you Kendall, from the blog Book Crazy, for my heart-stopping book trailer. You nailed it!

To all you bloggers out there, thank you for your unending passion for reading, reviewing, and promoting new books. You are godsends for us indie authors who are trying to find their place in this huge industry.

Readers – without you, there would be no motivation to write. The pleasure of writing for oneself only goes so far. Thank you for keeping the book industry thriving so that those of us who live to write can continue our pursuits.
