She was beautiful. Her long dark hair waved down her face, her green eyes sparkled, and her smile was contagious. I wrapped my arms around her to keep her calm. She always relaxed when she lay against my heart. It belonged to her and although she didn’t know it yet, she was about to keep it forever. I’d been saving up some money to buy her a diamond engagement ring, and no matter the outcome of the night, I planned to propose to her. There was no one on this planet that meant more to me than her and I vowed to never hurt her again.
She was standing in front of her painting and a swarm of people was crowded around her and the other contestants. We were in a small room surrounded by four large walls and countless modern art pieces.
They called out the third place winner: her name was Lisa and she’d painted an abstract piece. The runner-up was a guy named Ken who painted an impressionist type of scene. When the top prize winner was called, she burst into tears and it was amazing to see. Mickey won first place, and in all the excitement I ran over to her and bent down on one knee. The whole crowd gasped as I asked her those four special words: “Will you marry me?”
“Yes. I will!” she cried. Our lips connected and it felt like we were the only two in the room.
Forever. She is my forever.

Journal Entry: The Best Day Ever
Dear Journal,
Today was officially the happiest day of my life. I won the top prize at the Metropolitan Museum and the man of my dreams asked me to marry him. I am on cloud nine and I am floating to the top of the world with the man I’ve always wanted right by my side. I can’t wait to see what adventures we go on next as we venture into married life.
Good-bye, with love.
Michelle
