“I’m lucky that I found you,” I echoed.
“You can almost keep up with me,” he said.
“I’m doing my best. Sometimes it isn’t easy,” I admitted.
“You make it look easy.” He yawned. “I could stay like this forever.”
“Or you could leave now before my father gets home.”
He smiled. “Okay, I can take a hint.” He stood up and stretched. “I’ll call you,” he said. “I promise.”
“I’m looking forward to it.” For the second time that day, I let him out of the house and watched him drive away. This time I was smiling.
