"You haven't even seen me eat, so you don't get to laugh," I tell him, wagging my finger.

This just makes everyone in the room laugh.

"I declare a feast in honor of Jade," Queen Talia says.

"I won't say no to food," I reply.

We make our way to the dining hall and the tables are full of fae of every type. I follow our procession to the raised table and sit between Foster and Seamus. A brownie has food in front of me before I could think, so I dig in. It tastes so good, but I try, and fail to eat slower. I finish my first plate and another is waiting for me. I dig through this plate as well, and a third plate appears.

"I told them to supply extra food for you," Dorian explains. "There was a chance with the spell, that you would be ravenous."

"Thank you, I really am," I reply.

"You'll want to head to bed as soon as you are full. The other possible side effect is exhaustion," he advises.

"I'll make sure she gets there,” Seamus says.

I finish the third plate much slower, then a big yawn slips out. Dorian was right about the exhaustion, I can barely manage to keep my eyes open.

"Not to be rude, but I need to call it a night," I say, yawning.

"We'll talk tomorrow," Queen Talia says.

I hear several voices saying goodnight, but I don't have the energy to respond. Someone picks me up and carries me, as I drift off to sleep.

  Epilogue

  Queen Talia

I'm relieved the spell went well, but apprehensive on how to continue. Mother told me Jade is the key to everything, and that her soul was connected to mine. I can feel the connection, but I don't know what to make of it. Tomorrow we will figure it out.

"Dorian, will you finish translating the book. I need to know everything," I tell him.

"Of course, my queen," he says.

"Haven't we gotten past this yet?" I sigh.

"I'm sorry, love, but I will always address you with respect in public.”

"Let's just enjoy the night and worry about tomorrow when it comes," Flynn tells me.

"You know me too well," I tell him with a smile.

I am grateful for my men, becoming queen so young is going to be a tough journey, especially with the task of fulfilling the prophecy happening at the start of my reign.
