Jeremy pulled back, glancing over his shoulder at the comforter on the floor. “Travel tip—blankets are the most germ-ridden things in hotel rooms.”
She smiled. “Well, they would have been after we were done with them.” She’d never talked this way before, never been so open about sex. It made her feel at once brazen and exposed. She liked it.
Jeremy stood between her legs and grasped the back of her head to pull her in for another kiss. “Now I’ll just have some dirty, dirty sheets instead.”
She groaned into his mouth. “We’ll just leave the housekeeper a good tip.”
We, like it was both of them. Will like she’d be there in the morning, like this was more than just a one-night stand. What was he going to do once she crossed this line? Jeremy Glass ran a sex toy empire—he was not the kind of man to be pinned down.
Vanessa pushed away the thought. She’d started this; she wasn’t going to stop now. She more than liked Jeremy, and she wanted to feel the air heat up in connection between them, her heart in her chest alive and wild, the two of them in this room with the air conditioner in the corner kicking out a quiet hum.
She reached for the waistband of Jeremy’s sweatpants, but he moved out of her grasp.
“No, Heart.” His tongue on her neck, just under her ear. “I take care of what’s mine. It’s your turn to be the center of attention.”
She was his, wasn’t she? And he was hers, in whatever way this counted, even if it was just for tonight. It had always been them, this dance they did—so much more pull than push—their crackling, magnetic attraction.
Jeremy caught the way she trembled and softened his voice. “It would please me to please you.”
Well then.
She nodded, her throat dry, and he brought his lips to hers, there with her, sharing this breath even as he nudged his knee between her legs, parting her. She let her thighs fall open, and a fizzle of heat shot through her. A light sweat slicked the surface of her skin, and arousal soaked the lips of her sex. She was so, so ready for him. But the tremors wracking her body were an equal mix of excitement and fear. If she did this, she wasn’t just giving him her body. She was also handing over part of her heart.
Jeremy bent down and whispered against her mouth like he could read her mind. “I’ve got you. I’m going to take care of you.” And it was exactly what she needed to hear.
“Okay,” she murmured.
And then he was gone, his heat skimming down, his hands brushing over her body, making her shiver in pleasure. She’d never wanted anything this badly, never been so turned on. So much of her life had been about control, and with Jeremy, she felt reckless and wild. It was dangerous and stupid and utterly addicting.
“Good?” Jeremy dropped his hands to her thighs.
“Yes,” she breathed. Everything was yes for him—as if her body knew no other way to respond. Yes, she wanted this. Yes, she wanted him. She wanted the man who wanted her pleasure, the man who saw parts of her that she didn’t show to anyone else.
Yes, she thought again as he kneeled on the floor at her feet.
“You’re fucking amazing.” Jeremy groaned, running a hand from her ankle up her leg, his fingertips stopping just shy of her shorts. “These legs just kill me.” Vanessa squirmed against the bed, wanting to relieve some of the pressure building up inside her.
Jeremy grazed her ankle with his teeth, and she flicked her eyes down at him—his body bent over hers, the muscles in his arms flexing as he steadied himself against the bed. His mouth made the same trail as his fingers, up her legs and to her shorts. This time, though, he didn’t stop, instead sealing his mouth over her at the apex of her legs. His mouth, hot and damp through the thin fabric, woke every nerve ending in her body. Her clit throbbed, aching for him.
“I need your mouth on me, now,” she gasped, and he ripped her shorts and panties to the side to taste her, her head tipping back against the bed, her hands grabbing at the sheets as his tongue dipped into her.
“You are so sweet.”
Jeremy held the thin fabric aside and drove his tongue into Vanessa, ripping a moan from her lips. She churned her hips, insatiable, the fabric barrier driving her wild.
“Take them off,” she begged. She lifted her hips to help him slide off her shorts, shivering as he then pulled the hem of her shirt over her head. Her nipples pebbled into stiff peaks, goosebumps washing over her skin.
Jeremy paused above her when she was naked—her body spread out against the cool sheets for him. “God, you’re beautiful.” And from him, tonight, it didn’t feel like a line. It felt something close to worship. “I’m going to make you feel as good as you look, Heart. I want you to ride my face till you come.”
She moaned as a fresh wave of arousal slicked her already damp skin. “No one’s ever talked dirty to me before.”
His voice was a possessive growl. “Only me, Heart.” He gave her a wicked look, almost savage in its intensity.
She nodded, in his complete control. “Only you.”
Jeremy bent his head low and licked his tongue from her opening to her clit, murmuring his approval. The sight of him between her legs was so erotic that she had to close her eyes, her heart so close to exploding. Jeremy’s tongue kept traveling that same path, opening to clit, over and over, increasing pressure each time. It wasn’t just that he made her feel good, it was that he made her feel cherished.
Jeremy read her, paying attention to the moments her breath hitched—ragged in this quiet room—to the way her legs stiffened as the energy bundled up inside her.
He reached behind her to grab her ass, kneading it, pulling her body to his as his own excitement grew. He was fucking her with his tongue, and she was going to come all over him, and the knowledge of that—that he could get her there without any of those toys he’d so handily carried—pushed her that much higher.
She wound her fingers through Jeremy’s hair and held him close, rocking her hips to meet him.
“Good?” Jeremy lifted his chin ever so slightly, and the rough hair of his stubble grazed her sensitive skin.
She trembled against him, her body a ball of sensation. “Good. Keep going.”
He shot her a dangerous grin and then swirled his tongue over her skin, taking her clit into his mouth and sucking on it. She hovered on the brink of orgasm, her muscles tight and ready, ready, ready to let go.
Jeremy slid a finger into her, pushing in deep. Then he flicked his tongue against her, hot and needy. He growled against her wetness. “Come on, Heart. I’ve got you.” And he did, and she believed it, and his promise was enough for her to let go. And she was coming, coming, coming to pieces around him, an orgasm so shattering she wasn’t sure she’d ever be able to be put back together.
Jeremy kept his tongue on her skin until her nerves stopped pulsing, letting her ride the long waves of her pleasure. Then he made his way onto the bed and lay down beside her.
She opened her eyes—did they still work?—and drank him in. Jeremy was still dressed while she was so very, very naked. It was a problem she needed to fix. She reached for him through the fabric of his sweatpants, smiling in surprise. Jeremy Glass was definitely packing some heat. She ran her hands over his hard length, rubbing through the fabric while she pressed an eager kiss against his mouth.
“More, Heart?”
“Yes, more.” If this—this whatever this was—only lasted for tonight, she wanted to take as many good memories with her as she could.
Jeremy groaned against her shoulder. “I didn’t bring any protection with me. I wanted to go slow with you.”
Coming from the man who had already delivered an amazing orgasm, Vanessa couldn’t help but giggle. “A little too late for that, don’t you think?”
He laughed, and she reached for her pile of clothes, digging until she produced a foil packet. “Lucky for you, I happen to work for X Enterprises. Have you heard of them? Number one adult novelties company in the US? I happen to have some product samples I was going
to deliver to a customer tomorrow, but I don’t think they’ll notice if a condom or two goes missing. Do you think my boss will be angry?”
Jeremy’s eyes lit. “He would be a fool to get mad. He should probably give you a promotion.”
She grinned at him. “He’s a smart man.” She placed the condom on the bedside table and climbed onto the bed, this time straddling his body.
Jeremy sat up, and she took the opportunity to pull his shirt over his head. Then she tugged down his pants and bit her lip. Holy shit. Despite having a pretty good idea of what his body looked like under those sharp suits and dangerous T-shirts, having Jeremy Glass naked was almost more eye candy than she could handle. His broad shoulders gave way to hard pecs and a taut, toned stomach. His skin was smooth, save for a very happy trail leading down to an impressive package.
“You like what you see, Heart?”
“Absolutely.” She reached for him again and slid her hands down his cock, loving the way his body responded by growing thicker, longer. Then she shimmied down the bed and flicked her tongue against the velvety skin of his head.
Instantly Jeremy groaned, fisting a hand into her hair, rooting her to this moment, to the sounds of them breathing in this room. She looked up at him as she took him into her mouth, filling up with the heat of him.
Jeremy groaned again, and the sound pulled through her like a wire straight to her clit. She shifted, still so wet for him. She’d forgotten how powerful it could feel to have someone want her like this, to have him weak and needy for her. She swirled her tongue over Jeremy, tasting while his movements grew more and more excited.
“Come here,” he growled finally, and she couldn’t resist one last lick before climbing onto the bed.
Jeremy pressed a kiss against her mouth, tangling his tongue with hers. It felt so kinky and wanton to taste herself on his lips, so strangely intimate. But he’d seen all sides of her, hadn’t he?
Jeremy flipped her over on her stomach and pulled her to the edge of the bed, so her feet rested on the floor.
“Grab the bed.” He drew her arms over her head, then traced his hands down the sides of her body, squeezing her breasts before continuing his journey south.
It was wildly erotic not being able to see him, to listen only to the ragged sound of his breath and the rip of foil before he rolled on the condom. She was in his able hands, and she wanted to trust him. She shivered as Jeremy pressed kisses down the length of her spine and grabbed her hips. He rubbed himself against her entrance, teasing her without giving her what she needed.
“Tell me what you want,” he growled. He was going to make her ask for it. She writhed against the bed, but the soft material couldn’t satisfy her desire.
“You.” But that wasn’t good enough. “I want you to fuck me.” She needed release so badly her body shook. And, more than that, she needed him—this man, her man, his body on hers. The feeling of him everywhere, consuming. “Please.” She would say anything if it meant she could feel him inside her.
Jeremy’s voice curled in her ear. “Ready for me, aren’t you?”
She rocked back against Jeremy, and he spread her cheeks so she was wide and open and waiting. “Yes,” she panted. She wasn’t just ready. She’d been waiting for him her whole damn life.
“How do you want me?”
“Hard.”
With that he brought himself into her in one smooth movement, stretching her and filling her with heat and hardness. He was so big there was almost a fine line of pain behind the pleasure, but damn, that pleasure was overwhelming.
“You can take it.” Jeremy’s voice was gruff with appreciation, and she nodded wordlessly. Then he pulled out and thrust into her again. “God you are everything.”
And so was he. If he kept talking like this, she was going to melt all over him. Vanessa cried out, rocking back to meet him, and Jeremy picked up the rhythm, going faster now, in and out, harder and harder, hitting that sweet spot inside of her that ached. It didn’t matter that her last orgasm had wrung her out, she was already building to another free fall.
“So good,” she moaned, her hips rocking. “I’m getting close.”
Jeremy groaned too, his breath coming quicker and quicker. “I can tell, Heart.”
“Please,” she panted. Her heart slammed in her chest, her body flush with pleasure, and Jeremy reached between her and the bed to stroke her clit. She shivered and moved against the pressure, rolling her hips hard until with one more thrust she came around him, her body pulsing on and on.
“Good girl,” he said. “It’s so fucking sexy when you come.” He moved for a few more beats, his erratic motions extending her orgasm so it felt like it lasted forever. His control was gone as he teetered close to the edge.
“I’m going to come for you, too.” Jeremy gripped her hips, and his breath hitched. “I’m going to come.” And at last, he found his release and sagged against her.
“God, Heart,” he said, with his lips against her back and her heart still pounding in her chest. “What am I going to do with you?”
“Keep me.” It was so quiet she could believe that she’d dreamed it, so bold it was almost a dare.
Chapter 30
“Keep me.”
The memory of Vanessa’s face as she whispered the words floated back to Jeremy as he stepped out of the shower. Her cheeks, the prettiest shade of orgasm pink.
“Keep me.”
A plea and a promise, a hope made solid in the speaking.
For the better part of the last year, he hadn’t kept anyone—six-plus months of single-serving relationships. He’d devoted himself to X Enterprises and X Enterprises alone, all to bring him to this morning where he planned to stare down Piers and ask for what he knew his company was worth. Now, more than ever, he needed to step back so he could see the big picture, so he could control the game. And yet his mind was a broken record that kept playing Vanessa’s song.
Last night with her was everything—sex in his bed a second time, her hands holding onto his back, her knees drawn up alongside his ribs. Their bodies fit together like fucking yin and yang, and the whole world fell away so it was just them in the room, united and one and whole.
Vanessa’s request last night intrigued him, made him wonder if the reason he hadn’t committed to anyone was that no one else had been her. Nothing about this woman came standard—she surprised him even when he thought he’d pegged her down. When she’d shown up in his doorway with that challenging, lusty look on her face, he’d had the brief hope he could fuck her out of his system. He knew now he’d been wrong.
The hotel’s bedside phone rang as Jeremy wrapped a towel around his waist.
“Glass,” he said.
“Where the hell have you been?”
“Good morning to you too, Alex.”
“Have you looked at your cell phone or email since last night, Jeremy?” His Controller sounded absolutely pissed, but Jeremy wouldn’t budge an inch. The truth was the promise of sleeping with Vanessa had been too tempting to pass up, and he’d left his cell turned off. If she hadn’t slipped out at seven this morning, he would have been able to drag her into the shower with him right now.
God, what he would do to her in the water…
His thoughts scrambled as Alex forged on. “I’ve got some bad news. We lost the bid for the hydraulic injection mold machine.” Frustration pulled his voice tight.
That’s right, the auction had been this morning at ten a.m. Eastern. That meant Alex would have already been in the office and spending Jeremy’s money by the time Jeremy finally crawled out of bed. Or not spending his money, as it turned out.
“How could we lose?” Jeremy demanded. “I thought I approved you to go as high as needed to get it done.” He reached for his cell phone, still on the bedside table where he’d left it last night, and waited for it to buzz to life.
“The original cap you gave me was five thousand less than the highest bid. I sent you a request to increase the bid this morn
ing, but I didn’t hear back. So I didn’t pull the trigger.”
“Five thousand?” Jeremy ground out. The one night he hadn’t slept with his phone next to his bed was the one night it cost him millions. He wanted to punch something. He settled for a growl. “Dammit, Alex. That’s nothing compared to the amount of revenue X Enterprises is going to lose by not adding in the new equipment. We need this machine to increase our manufacturing capacity and compete with the overseas manufacturers.”
“I know that, and I’m sorry. Maybe if I could have gotten you on the phone…”
Jeremy cut him off. “Why didn’t you have the hotel track me down?”
“I had them call your room, Jeremy. There wasn’t an answer.”
Fuck. “I must have been in the shower.” The memories of last night had come back to him, hot and hard, and under the high-pressure showerhead, he’d taken himself in hand just to let off some steam. With her or without her, Vanessa was in his mind, under his skin.
He knew how much he’d fucked up, and he wanted to chew Alex out. To have a good reason to yell. But this wasn’t Alex’s fault. Jeremy thought of Vanessa’s kind, beautiful face—her compassion—and made his voice less harsh. He needed to take a page from her book, or he was going to push his Controller too far.
“Thank you, Alex. I’ll circle back with Vegas after my meeting today, and we’ll regroup. Keep your ear to the ground for any new machines coming up on auction.”
Jeremy returned the hotel phone to its cradle and scrolled through his cell phone’s list of missed phone calls and texts. Sure enough, a whole string of texts from Alex appeared on this morning’s list, growing increasingly urgent as the bid went on. At 7:55 when Jeremy had been blissfully unaware in the shower: 5 minutes left. Permission to increase our bid. I think $10K will do it. And Jeremy had ignored every word.
The slip with the auction wasn’t like him at all, and that’s what had him worried. He hadn’t been focused these last few weeks, it was true, and a big part of that was the woman he’d watched wiggle back into those pajamas this morning. Not that any of this was Vanessa’s fault.
