The Doctor's Healing Love (Contemporary BWWM Romance)

After her second orgasm from his mouth and hands, Chloe wasn’t sure how she could keep standing any longer. Richard scooped her up in his arms and carried her out of the shower. He yanked the bedspread off the bed and laid Chloe down gently on her back.
He positioned himself over her and placed his erection right at her opening. He could see the pleading in her eyes as she silently begged for him to enter her. With one quick movement, he pushed himself in and left his cock there, knowing exactly what this always did to her. She wrapped her legs around him, moving in order to make something happen. She pushed herself up and down his shaft while encouraging him to joining by softly digging her nails into his arms. After he felt she had suffered enough, he began to slowly move in and out.
She threw her head back and ran her nails along his back. This action always got to him, and he increased his pace. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as he continued his rhythmic motion: in and out, in and out. Feeling his own orgasm grow with every movement, Chloe ran her nails along his back again, tickling him in the best way.
“Come on, babe, join me,” she pleaded in her loving voice. He licked his lips and looked into her eyes. Her beauty was unmatched and he was the luckiest man alive.
Now he started to add a little bit of circular motion to his thrusts. The moment he hit the spot, he knew it. Chloe’s moans increased and her eyes flew open. She took harsh breaths to keep herself breathing as she enjoyed each perfectly executed stroke. He continued hitting the g-spot until he finally felt the squeeze he was longing for. He gave two more thrusts and was joining her in his release.
“Now I need to get back into the shower,” Chloe smiled up at him. The growing smile on his face was one she knew quite well. “Alone. Or we might never make it to your parents' place tonight.”
Richard rolled off of Chloe and allowed her to get up. He smiled as he watched her walk across the bedroom and into the bathroom. He’d give her five minutes, then… a wider smile spread across his face.
Chapter 11
Chloe sat on the toilet seat and stared at the fish-covered shower curtain. One word just kept repeating itself over and over in her head. One word that was going to change her life forever.
Pregnant.
She looked again at the pink-capped stick she'd placed on the vanity, hoping that the results would be different from the last time. But they didn’t change. She was pregnant. Although she would need to do a blood test to be one hundred percent positive, all the signs had already proven it to her before she'd even taken the test. The issue with that was the only doctor in town was Richard. And how in the hell did a doctor accidentally get someone pregnant?
Then Chloe remembered the night when they had drank a little too much. They ended up in bed without any protection. Chloe really didn’t think she would get pregnant. Actually thought she couldn’t, considering all the times she had sex with her ex and hadn’t gotten pregnant. She stopped taking birth control pills, plan B contraception, and the morning after pills for that reason exactly. She simply thought it wasn’t possible for her.
“Chloe? Are you okay?” Chloe practically jumped out of her skin.
She was thinking of Richard and there he was, just outside the door. “Yes. Yes. I’m okay.” Chloe put the test into the original box and then threw it into her purse, which was how she got the test into the bathroom to begin with. “I’ll be out in just a minute.”
She knew she needed to tell him, but it had to be the right time and in the right setting. Now wasn’t the time.
“Stupid stomach.” Chloe put her hand on her stomach, half pretending to be sick while the other half was still overwhelmed by the news. She opened the door and feigned an illness.
“Do you need something?” he asked in a concerned manner, placing his hand on her upper back as she hunched over.
“No. I will be fine.” She shook her head. She couldn’t take anything that she didn’t really need, especially now with a baby to think about.
“Okay.” He took her word for it.
She watched as Richard walked away. Taking a deep breath, she slipped back into the bathroom and retrieved the purse, which she left on the floor. That was a close call. She hurried out and put her purse into the closet. She would get rid of the test later, once Richard was in the shower. Heading out of the room, she stopped in front of the mirror, her eyes instantly going to her stomach. In eight months, she would look like a whale with her stomach protruding out for the whole world to see. She shook her head and left the room.
Making her way out into the living room, she found Richard, who was sitting on the couch and reading the newspaper. “Are you feeling better?” He looked up at her.
She nodded quickly and sat down next to him. It took everything in her not to tell him about the baby. It needed to be the right occasion. A thought popped into her mind. She needed to get onto Pinterest to research some unique and creative ways to announce a pregnancy.
Finding a cute way to tell him would hopefully make things easier and a lighter load to bear. And maybe telling him in a different and special manner would help him to accept the news better. This was Chloe’s biggest fear: that Richard would run away when she told him they were expecting. Her ex never wanted a baby and he had made it well known that he would be gone if it ever happened. She and Richard however had never spoke about that topic. He was old enough to have had children another time so why didn’t he? Would Richard be the same as her ex?
Although she knew it wasn’t possible, Chloe felt a small flutter in her stomach: the baby’s kick.
She watched Richard as he turned the page. The way he gave the paper a little shake to get it to stay open on the page he wanted to read was just one of those little mannerisms that Chloe found herself loving and missing when he wasn’t around. When she thought about it, there were a number of different little things, like how he would stick his tongue out the side of his mouth when he was concentrating on something, or even the way he liked to chew on the leftover ice cubes after he finished his drink.
“What?” Richard asked from the side of his mouth. Chloe shrugged.
Richard caught her staring at him. “Just watching you.”
“Stop. It’s creepy.”
“Creepy?” Chloe asked, with her eyebrows raised.
“Yes. You were staring at me like you wanted to eat me.”
“Well…”
Richard threw the newspaper down and practically dived at Chloe. She let out a squeal that was more from excitement than anything else. His arms locked her in on either side and she squirmed around.
Once she was pinned to the couch, her hands above her head with him between her legs, she couldn’t help but giggle. “What were you going to say?”
“Nothing.”
“Oh, really.”
Richard leaned forward and barely kissed her on the lips. Chloe tried to kiss him back, but he pulled away. When she put her head back on the couch, he leaned forward again, barely touching her lips. When she moved, he pulled back.
Two could play this game, Chloe thought, and she moved her hips up so that they connected with the now protruding member. Richard groaned and Chloe smiled.
When his lips pressed against hers this time, there was nothing gentle about it.
It wasn’t long until they both were lying naked on the couch and Richard was putting on a condom. Chloe would have loved to tell him to forget about putting it on, but she couldn’t spoil the surprise. Once she found the perfect way to tell him, they would celebrate by making love without any barrier between them.
But for now, the news would have to wait.
His slick fingers slipped under her panties from the side and found her wet lips waiting. Her body arched as he ran his fingers in slow, critical circles, his fingertips slipping between the lips of her to run along the inside.
He multitasked and pulled her shirt up to her neck, which she then pulled off completely. He moved his mouth to her breast, the fingers of his free hand
moving up to continue paying attention to the other nipple he’d not yet touched.
Electricity coursed through her body, heat in her belly building to a crescendo.
When his fingertip found her clit and began strumming it like an instrument, it only took a minute before she lost all control, and let sound escape her lips. With that, she thrust her hips against his hand and had an orgasm yet again.
He leaned up toward her face and kissed before pushing between her legs and opening them up for him. She threw her head back against the couch’s arm and watched as he pulled his pants off with swift expertise. He did the same to her panties and began to play with her. He tapped his manhood against her clit and rubbed up and down it, collecting the fluids from inside of her. He pushed himself into her opening and watched as she let out a deep, breathy moan. He smirked, knowing he’d done a good job of exciting her. He decided to play a game with her, to see how badly she wanted it.
He entered her half way and halted. She looked up and glared at him.
“Richard…” she whined. He smiled and pulled out. He did the same thing again and she groaned in irritation.
When he thrust into her again, she hooked her feet behind his thighs and pulled him deeper inside of her.
This time he grunted in surprised pleasure, unable to stop himself from entering even deeper.
Instead of pulling out and torturing her again, he began a steady rhythm. The full length of him stretched her open as he gently pressed his way deep inside.
Chloe moved her hips, taking him all in and working with him. Together they rocked and moved, kissing and touching until another orgasm crashed over her. This one took her by surprise, and she dug her fingers into his back as he met her orgasm with a vigorous rhythm.
As she slowly came down from it, he slowed again.
A few moments later, she watched as he left to dispose of the condom. She smiled: she knew it was silly, but she knew why he was doing it. If only she had the courage to tell him what she needed to tell him about their child they'd created.
***
It was perfect.
Chloe had spent the last half hour searching through Pinterest and had finally found the perfect way to tell Richard about the baby. She wanted to jump up and down with excitement, but that would call too much attention. She needed to act as cool as possible.
There was a knock on her door and Chloe quickly minimized the screen.
“Come in,” she said, without looking up. She'd found an Excel worksheet to pull up onto the screen, and had Pinterest’s home page opened in the web browser.
Julia opened the door and peeked in. “I wondered where you were.”
“Not very hungry. Decided I would spend my lunch looking at Pinterest.”
Julia opened the door fully with that comment. “I love Pinterest. I could spend my entire evening going through it and never want to stop.” She came around the desk and before she could stop Julia from getting too close, the search history brought her recent pins to the screen and up for display. “What were you looking… Oh, my gosh.”
Chloe could hear the excitement and shock in her voice. She waited hesitantly. Julia had the biggest mouth, but maybe in a serious situation, she would learn to control her gossip. “Wait…”
She didn’t want Julia to spill the news to Richard. “Richard doesn’t know. I was trying to find the perfect way to tell him.”
“You are pregnant!” Julia half whispered with her face permanently stuck on surprise.
Chloe nodded and actually loved the feeling of finally having someone else know. She pointed to the idea she had just found on the screen. “This is how I’m going to tell him.”
“That’s a good one. I left a pregnancy test on the counter for my ex-husband when I found out. I swear he looked at it about a hundred times until he finally took it all in, what it was, and what was going on.” Julia sat down on one of the chairs across from Chloe. “Are you a hundred percent sure?”
“I haven’t done the blood work yet, but I have all the signs, and a home test came back positive.” Chloe shared.
“Why don’t I run and get a needle? I can send it off to be tested without Richard even knowing who it’s for or where it came from.”
“That would be perfect.” Chloe smiled. Good thing she became friends with the most trusted nurse among the staff.
Julia rushed out of the office and came back with a sly look on her face. She was clearly very excited to be a part of something so classified and top secret. “Richard was asking me where you were. I thought he saw me grab the needle at first. But he was just worried because you weren’t eating.”
“My stomach has started to be a little queasy lately. I don’t really need more of an excuse to throw up everything that comes in contact with my mouth.”
“Crackers. That was always my big thing. I had a pack of crackers with me at all times. I brought them with me everywhere.”
Chloe wondered if she should start taking notes on all of the things she heard as Julia shared a number of different tricks she had learned throughout her two simultaneous pregnancies. Meanwhile she took a vial of Chloe’s blood and before she knew it, the receptionist was calling for Julia to bring one of the patients back to the rooms. Before Julia could head out, Chloe grabbed her hand and swallowed hard. “Please don’t tell Richard.”
“I won’t.” Julia promised her. They locked eyes and Chloe could see the sincerity. She let her arm go. Announcing pregnancy was something that not just any random person could announce to someone. It was an intimate and personal process that only the two whose baby it was could share with one another, and as much as Julia loved to gossip, it wasn’t the kind of thing she would report.
Chloe watched as her friend headed out of the room. She was glad that if anyone knew, it was Julia who knew. Their talk had given her plenty to think about and plenty of advice. As she progressed in her pregnancy, she knew that Julia would be the one from whom she would seek guidance. Another pang of pain went through her heart at the thought of not having a mother to talk to about her pregnancy. The defining moment where a woman becomes more than herself was difficult to go through without the woman who'd raised you telling you about her own experiences. Chloe sighed and stared at her computer screen, deep in thought.
“Your stomach is still a mess?” Richard stepped into her office with a questioning look on his face. At first Chloe worried that Julia had said something to him, but then she remembered the horrible excuse she'd made while taking the test in the bathroom at home.
“It isn’t the best,” she told him.
“You should still eat something.” He advised her like the good doctor he was. He held up the little fabric lunch bag that she used every day and dangled it in front of him.
“Just not hungry,” she told him truthfully. Although that was the only truth she had told him this whole conversation.
He gave her a look but didn’t say anything. “I love you.” He leaned a little more into the room and gave her an air kiss.
He didn’t wait for her to respond before he turned and walked away.
She hated lying to him, but she just wasn’t prepared to tell him about her pregnancy. And now that she'd found the perfect way to do it, she would do it tonight.
A smile spread across her face at the thought of finally sharing with him the joy of their next step: they were going to start a family. A small sliver of fear raced through her system, however. She just hoped that he wouldn’t run.
Chapter 12
Chloe giggled to herself. Tonight was going to be the night when she finally told Richard about the baby growing inside her. She couldn’t help but be excited. There was no way anything bad would happen when she told him. There couldn’t be. This was Richard, not David. She needed to convince herself of that more than anyone else.
“What?” Richard looked up from kissing her neck. He panted as he waited for her to respond.
“Nothing.” Chloe hated not telling him. Luckily, a
jar of Prego spaghetti sauce was lying on the bed upstairs at this moment. This was the start of her way of telling him. She just needed to make sure they headed upstairs to have sex and not have a repeat from yesterday. As fun as it was on the couch, it would completely ruin what she had planned.
“Okay.” He went back to kissing her neck. Then he went lower. And lower.
By the time he started to unbutton her pants, Chloe wasn’t thinking about heading upstairs. She was thinking about him going down on her and using his tongue as eloquently as he always did.
The doorbell stopped any further developments.
Richard stopped what he was doing. He looked up at Chloe and then stood up. Adjusting his clothes, he gave her a kiss and then made his way toward the front door. She wanted to beg him not to answer it, but she knew he couldn’t do that. This was a crucial part of being the only doctor in a small town: no call or knock could be ignored, and it could be an emergency. She was prepared to share her future husband with the whole town, but during times like this, it was extremely frustrating.
Her hand went to her stomach. Another little quiver fluttered and she swore it wasn’t anything other than the baby growing there. She prayed that Richard would handle the news with happiness. They hadn’t really talked about when they wanted to have children, just that they wanted to eventually have their own family, assuming they’d plan for it somewhere later down the road after a few years of marriage. Although they weren’t even married yet, it was going to happen sooner rather than later. One interruption in her plan changed her positive attitude. Now she worried that he would run for the hills the moment he found out about the baby.
“But I can’t do that.” Chloe heard Richard say to someone. She finally snapped out of the constant stream of her thoughts and perked her ears up to listen.
Worried, she got up and buttoned the top two buttons on her high waist pants. The agitation in his voice was what got her attention. It obviously wasn’t a patient, since he would never talk to someone in that manner.
