Tegan: Exotic Ink Series (Book Two) Page 23

by LS Anders

After a quick shower, Tegan made it to Exotic Ink just as Avie was flipping off the open sign.

She smiled at him through the glass as she unlocked the door. “Hey daddy.”

“Avie, please stop calling me that. It sounds perverted coming from a girl as old as you.”

She giggled and twirled around before heading back over to the reception desk. Her hair fanned out around her slight shoulders, the multiple colors reminding him of the Fruit Stripe gum package with the goofy looking zebra on the front.

“So, we all have a bet going where the baby was conceived,” Cale announced as soon as he saw Tegan.

Rayna groaned, “Don’t answer that, T.”

“It was the storage room, right? I’m right aren’t I?” Callie came bouncing down the hall.

“Pfft, hell no. We never had sex in the storage room.”

“You’re lying, it had to be in storage room,” Callie argued.

“You don’t know shit, Callie.” Cale countered. “Rayna is ready to pop. It had to be back when…”

The conversation faded off, all his attention became focused on Rayna as she waddled down the hall towards him, her belly leading the way. Not able to wait a moment longer, he pulled her in for a hug. He’d done enough waiting and enough holding back where she was concerned.

“What is it?” She looked up at him worried.

“Oh, nothing. Just wanted to give my girls a hug is all.”

“You sure. You’re acting kind of weird.”

  “Nope, everything is perfect.”

Tegan smiled down into the tiny face that already looked so much like her mother. Eyes tightly closed as his tiny princess slept quietly in his arms. She was the epitome of calm and at complete odds with the staggering amount of chaos that had happened before she was brought safely into the world.

Rayna’s contractions had started almost as soon as they had gotten checked into the hotel after their small, intimate wedding ceremony. One moment he was dropping their suitcases inside the lavishly decorated suite at the Four Seasons and the next he was calling for an ambulance and carrying his wife back to the elevator to get her to the ground floor to meet up with the paramedics.

After a shit load of screaming and panting, the nurses were finally able to push him into a chair before he passed out. Rayna had proven to be way braver than him and had spent hours pushing out this little angel while he sat over to the side of her bed holding tightly to her hand.

Lifting his chin to admire his lovely wife sleeping as deeply as baby Caroline, the hospital room was dimly lit with soft defused lighting, but he could see the dark circles marking her efforts to push the baby out. Her hair had been slick with sweat from her exertions, but Lexi had cleaned her face and plaited the blonde mass, so it lay neatly and out of her face on the pillow where her head now rested.

His Rayna. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life aside from the tiny bundle he had cradled in his arms. He was reluctant to lay her in her crib, wanting to hold on to her for a while longer.

Her tiny fist pushed its way out of the swaddle the nurse had taught him to wrap. He kept covering her exposed hand thinking she would be cold, but her little hands just didn’t want to remain covered. Stubborn like her daddy.

Smoothing his hand over her head, he snuck a peek at the black wisps of hair hidden beneath the pink cotton cap. “I hope you end up with your mother’s lovely gray eyes, because if you have mine, that can only mean one thing. Trouble.”

Caroline cracked open one lid, flashing the dark blue eye color of all newborns, and smiled at him before closing it again.

“Pfft, please tell me that smile means you have gas and you weren’t just agreeing with me.”

  Not the end,

but until Jason: Exotic Ink Series (Book Three)…

  From the Author

  Hello Romance-aholics!

As many of us do, I read to give myself a break from the daily grind, and there’s no better way to do that than to get lost inside a juicy romance novel when you’re feeling overworked or overstressed.

I’m a wearer of many hats. I’m a wife, a mother, a female firefighter, a reader and lover of all things romance, and an avid daydreamer. I find writing to be therapeutic, so I indulge whenever I can find a spare moment. Plus, it’s an outlet for my dirty mind. LOL!

Vehn was the first in the Exotic Ink Series. You can find Vehn and Callie’s love story here: www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZFKIJG

I hope you enjoyed Tegan: Exotic Ink Series (Book Two). I thoroughly enjoyed writing Rayna and Tegan’s HEA. I loved that big bad Tegan was taken down by shy and sensitive Rayna.

Jason and Evana are next for book three, and it’s going to be a scorcher. I hope to have Jason: Exotic Ink Series (Book Three) available in December 2017 or early 2018.

I’m planning a spin-off of the Exotic Ink Series called Wicked Brews in 2018. If you recall, Dylan is Callie’s friend that owns a microbrew called Wicked Brews and Dylan’s Diary will be the first of three in that series. It will feature the same characters you’ve already met in the Exotic Ink Series, along with a few newcomers.

I hope you enjoy reading my series as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing these characters to life. I better get back to work, there are so many sexy scenes I have yet to write.
