Avenging Kiss (Savage Security Book 2) Page 15

She watched transfixed as he stared and stroked her breasts. The fluttering low in her core betrayed her. She craved his touch. Sliding her hand down his chest, she cupped him through his jeans. “Let’s go to the bedroom where I can properly have my way with you,” she teased as she pushed against his erection.

He leaned into her touch, feeling himself harden more. Wanting to feel her nakedness against him, he quickly pulled his shirt over his head and dropped it on the floor. He slipped his hands around her waist and lifted her. She dug her feet into his ass as he carried her to his bedroom.

She pressed herself into him as he carried her down the hallway. Her breasts flattened against his chest. She wanted to ride him. She wanted to feel him gently stretch her body over his.

Logan stopped beside his bed and set her down. His lips twisted into a mischievous grin as he cupped one breast in his palm. Leaning forward, his lips sucked on her neck as his fingers slipped between the tops of her leggings and her waist. As he pulled down her leggings and panties, his mouth slowly descended onto her body until he finally stopped on her breasts.

She stepped out of her clothes and ran her hands through his hair as he sucked and stroked her. She knew this would be the last time they made love, so she wanted to relish it. She would have to disappear tomorrow. Would he miss her? She wasn’t sure she wanted to know the answer to that. She knew she’d miss him.

Aditya stepped away from him and crawled onto his bed. She lay back, resting on her elbows and looked at him. “Someone’s still overdressed,” she said, her voice low and sultry.

Logan immediately remedied that problem and moved towards her, his body covering hers.

  8:30 PM

Bella had never eaten at Carrisburg’s new posh restaurant, The Del Mar, and the food had been wonderful. The restaurant boasted the freshest seafood and best view of the Potomac River in Carrisburg. “I couldn’t get over the view,” Bella said, cradling her leftover dessert on her lap in Eric’s truck. The chocolate cake had been decadent after a lobster dinner, but she’d ordered it anyway since she didn’t know when she’d be back. “Thanks for taking me there.” She wondered if her voice sounded as nervous to him as it did to her.

“Of course,” Eric said. “It was my pleasure.” He hadn’t had fresh seafood in a long time. He used to love eating the wide variety of fresh seafood in the coastal town where he grew up. His life in Texas had been good. He’d dated all kinds of girls during high school and college, and he’d forgotten how much fun dating could be. The nervous jitters in his stomach and the intense desire to explore the beautiful woman beside him surprised him. He couldn’t afford to screw this up. Regardless of what happened tonight, he planned on having sex with her. It had been too long.

Eric pulled out of the restaurant parking lot and glanced quickly at Bella. She fiddled with the paper bag that held her dessert. “I’ll take you back to work so you can get your flowers and car.”

“Sounds good,” Bella replied. She wouldn’t deny it. She was nervous. He’d spent a lot of money on her today and some guys thought that entitled them to something. She wanted to take their relationship to the next level, but she wasn’t ready for sex. The thought of explaining her health situation to him worried her. Would he think she was disgusting? Would she repulse him? She stared out the passenger side window and chastised herself. It was a yeast infection, not an STD. If he couldn’t handle waiting a little longer to have sex, then he wasn’t worth having. She’d just have to put her big girl panties on and tell him about it when the time came.

Sexually charged emotions seemed to push all the oxygen from the interior of the truck. Love song after love song bombarded them as the radio played on, some being so graphic that she hoped he couldn’t see her blush. Bella didn’t even want to know what was going on in his mind. She’d seen the way he looked at her through the candlelit dinner. His eyes had been full of lust, and since they sat at a rounded booth, he’d scooted closer to her throughout their meal. By the end of dessert, his hand had found her thigh and, as he brushed his thumb over her skirt, his hand had slowly moved higher and higher up her leg. She was so turned on by the end of dinner that she wanted to take him home and let him have his way with her, but she knew that wasn’t going to happen.

He focused himself. She was so damn distracting, but he couldn’t let her throw him off his game. He’d primed her with the flowers and then the dinner that ended with his hand spanning her inner thigh. The only bad thing was her skirt that had separated his flesh from hers. He knew the insides of her thighs would be soft. He’d love to stroke that tender flesh and then caress her soft, wet mound. Was she bare there, or did she keep her pussy au-natural?

Eric pulled into the parking lot and parked in the spot closest to the entrance. He looked around. Only a few cars dotted the parking lot. “Do you think Cole’s still there?” he asked, keeping his voice casual. The men she worked with made him nervous. They gave off the impression that they were some rare kind of superheroes trapped in the body of mere mortals. He grabbed his leather messenger bag and slipped it over his shoulder.

Bella looked around the parking lot. “No, I don’t see his truck. Those cars must belong to people in the other offices or a cleaning crew.” She unbuckled her seatbelt while Eric walked around and opened her door. He extended his hand and she placed hers in his as he helped her out of the truck. That little act of courtesy had nearly disappeared from the dating lives of most modern couples.

They walked hand in hand towards the building. When they approached the door, Bella dug in her purse for her badge. She stopped and glanced at Eric’s messenger bag. “Why’d you bring that?”

He tapped the bag lightly and shrugged. “Habit I guess. Or maybe I’m just nervous,” he added with a shrug. “Cole must really trust you if he lets you into the office after he’s gone,” he said with appreciation.

She snorted, “Cole wouldn’t hire anyone he didn’t trust. Although, just because he trusts you, doesn’t me that he trusts you.” She smiled at him and liked the ease and confidence she saw on his face. “These guys have to be the most suspicious men I’ve ever known. They don’t always play well with others.” She waved her badge by the lock, and he pulled open the door.

As they walked through the main lobby of the building, Eric noted the camera that recorded their presence. His gut tensed, he didn’t want to get caught here. He didn’t want to have to explain what they were doing there. “Is that camera going to alert security?” he asked, pointing at the camera that covered the main lobby.

Bella glanced up at the camera that was secured high in the corner of the wall. “That one, no. That’s the building’s camera. No one really looks at it unless something’s happened.” Bella used her badge again to unlock the door to Savage Security and headed towards her desk. She looked over her shoulder and noticed that Eric hadn’t followed her. He stood in the doorway, holding open the door. She smiled, “You can come in,” she said with ease, setting her dessert on her desk. Being in the office eased some of her tension. She’d just kiss him at the car and go on her merry way. The problem of sex would be averted once again.

He looked around and noticed the camera in the corner that monitored the lobby of Savage Security. He didn’t really want to be recorded. He pointed to the camera. “What about that? Will you get in trouble for bringing me here after dark?”

He really was cute, to worry about her and want to keep her from getting a reprimand from her boss. “Aw, that’s sweet. But you can come in.” She waved her hand to motion him in. “Cole won’t care. I’m with you.” She buried her nose in the petals of her flowers and enjoyed the strong fragrance.

“Is it recording? Does he know we’re here right now?” He took a step inside and let the door close behind him.

“Cole will get a message that movement’s been detected. A few of the others get the notifications too. I’m not sure how faithful they are about checking the notifications though. I would im
agine they go off several times on the nights that the cleaning crew works.”

“He lets a cleaning crew in here?” He really didn’t understand what they did at that security company, but he’d never seen a business with so many cameras on the inside. He noticed another camera angled down the hallway. Did they still work for the military or some other spook organization?

“Sure,” she shrugged. “He may be paranoid, but he’s reasonable too. Besides, cleaning is not in my job description,” she teased.

She’d had too much to drink. Between the two glasses of wine and then several glasses of water to keep her from getting dehydrated, she was ready to burst. Should she even drive home tonight? Would he mind driving her home? No. That would be a horrible idea she decided. That would only complicate matters with the offer of a night cap. “You know what?” She turned and faced him, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I need to go to the bathroom?” She pointed down the hall. “You can sit at my desk,” she encouraged, pointing to her chair. He looked so unsure of himself standing by the door.

“Of course,” he chuckled and headed towards her desk. He didn’t look towards the camera. He needed to relax. They were safe there. Even if Cole noted their presence, it wasn’t like he could get there and interrupt them in time. How far would she go knowing that they were being recorded? Would she kiss him? Let him touch and taste her with the excitement of her boss possibly watching? Eric couldn’t help but smile as he wondered if the angry asshole would watch the recording too? The man clearly wanted in her pants, and it would be satisfying to let Jack watch him fuck her. Eric suddenly had the urge to take her on her desk. He could easily push the flowers to the floor, lay her across the desk and spread her legs. That would be the perfect end to a perfect night.

  8:30 PM

Logan traced a lazy figure-eight on Aditya’s bare hip. He loved having her in his bed. Her skin was soft and begged for his caress, but what lured him the most was how she listened. They truly communicated and connected on so many levels. She’d filled a hole in his life that he hadn’t known was there. “I’m glad you’re here,” he murmured as he kissed her shoulder. The salty taste of her perspiration from their activities sent another wave of hunger through him. He would stay in bed with her all night if he could.

His breath warmed her shoulder as she lay on her side and they spooned. “I’m glad to be here,” she replied. She truly was. She hadn’t enjoyed herself with a man like this in a long time. She’d missed having a real relationship. Friendship was a luxury that she didn’t indulge in anymore.

The ceiling fan slowly rotated, cooling her. A wave of goose bumps rose over her skin. She grabbed the sheet and pulled it up, tucking it under her arms.

“Hey, what are you doing?” Logan complained, raising his head to look at her. She’d robbed him of the beautiful view of her body that he’d been enjoying.

She laughed a low, sultry laugh and said, “I’m getting chilly.”

He tugged the sheet down a little to reveal her breasts. Tiny bumps were raised on her skin, and he kissed her puckered flesh. “I could warm you up again.” His fingertips slowly eased over her body and came to a stop when he cupped her breast.

The warmth of his hand over her breast warmed her insides. A heat simmered again in her core. Looking over her shoulder at him, she said, “Don’t worry yourself. The sheet works just fine.”

He enjoyed the playful smile that brightened her face. “I’m not doing something right if I can be replaced by a sheet.” He gently squeezed her breast, working her nipple to a hard peak.

His touch did incredible things to her, opened up a captivating world of sensations and the possibility of happiness. But happiness was not in her future. She’d made decisions, crossed lines that couldn’t be uncrossed. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. She couldn’t deny that simple scientific principal.

She was a terrible person. All this time she’d considered herself a hero of some kind. A woman bringing justice to those who hadn’t been able to protect themselves, but after being around Logan, she didn’t feel like much of a hero anymore. She was a betrayer, both to him and to herself.

“Nothing could ever replace you,” she said. She did her best to hide the sadness in her voice. She didn’t want to let him go. She didn’t want him to predict her moves and stop her.

“That’s better,” he said, taking his hand away from her breast and resting it again on her hip. He needed to stop touching her before he lost his focus and made love to her again. He still had work to do. “Are you tired?”

“A little.” She glanced at the clock. It was approaching nine. She looked over her shoulder at him. “Are you?”

“I don’t have time to be tired.” He kissed her shoulder again as his fingers played with her silky hair. “You can sleep here tonight. I have an extra toothbrush. If there’s anything else you need, I’m sure we could figure something out.” He wanted her to stay. Although he’d be working, he still wanted her company. He wanted to know that she was in his room keeping his bed warm.

“I haven’t been to a slumber party in years,” she said. She twisted her arm so she could grip the back of his neck and pulled his lips to hers.

Something about her comment made him happy. He knew she had a past; he just didn’t want to know about it. He didn’t want a list of her lovers haunting their future. “Then you’ll stay?”

She could slip away in the night once he fell asleep. She could enjoy these last precious moments with him. She didn’t want to think about what leaving him would do to his heart. He was a man. How attached could he be to her in such a short time? Men didn’t over-romanticize everything in their relationships. That was a woman’s curse. She assured herself that the only person she would hurt with her disappearance was herself.

“Yes, I’ll stay.” If she could keep him in bed all night, he wouldn’t discover Riya in the intel he’d received. But what about his friends? Were they looking through the images right now? How long would it take for them to find her?

Logan’s body reacted to her touch as she stroked his thigh and turned to face him. He palmed her flat stomach and leaned over and kissed her. He wanted to crawl between her legs, hear her purr as he stroked her, but he owed Lieutenant Shaw his attention. That was the least he could do.

Her fingers found his length, and he shifted his hips out of her reach. He gazed into her face and said, “You need to stop, or you’ll get me all hot and bothered again. If that happens, I won’t have the strength to pull myself away from you.”

She enjoyed the light tease in his voice. “And that’s a bad thing?” She raised an eyebrow at him. She didn’t want him to leave the bed. She wanted these precious, last moments with him.

He sighed, wishing he could stay with her. “I really have to work. Something important came up.” He stroked a finger down her cheek, loving the feel of her skin against his. “I’ll be back in a little while. You can sleep, watch TV.” He pointed to the television that hung on the opposite wall. “If you want,” he gave her a flirty smile, “I’ll wake you when I get back in bed.”

She laughed and dragged a nail over his chest. “I’ll be waiting,” she lied. Their time was up.

With a brief kiss, Logan stood and pulled a pair of running pants out of his dresser.

Aditya raised herself up onto her elbows and watched as he pulled on the pants. “Oohh,” she cooed. “Going commando.” She eyed Logan’s package as it tented the loose fabric.

The seductive look on her face combined with her naked body nearly had him shedding his pants and crawling back in bed with her. “I’ll be all yours soon enough.” He turned and walked briskly out the bedroom door. No man should have to walk away from a beautiful, naked woman in his bed, and if he hadn’t acted decisively and walked out, he would have been naked and buried in her within seconds.

He walked down the hallway and into his office. Mojo followed along, his tail thumping the wall. Logan scratched the top
of Mojo’s head in a soothing gesture. Mojo brushed his head against Logan’s thigh and then trotted to his pillow bed in the corner. He nestled himself into the oversized pillow and gnawed on a bone. Logan was used to working with the sound of Mojo chomping away on something. It had become a soothing sound, assuring Logan that he wasn’t alone.

He eased himself into his chair behind his desk and opened the laptop. Signing in, he leaned back and thought about Lieutenant Shaw. The man had been a legend, known for his bravery and perseverance. Logan couldn’t believe that Shaw had been taken down by a woman. And to die like that, not even realizing the danger he was in. There’d been no time for Shaw to defend himself.

Logan clicked on the folder and read the titles of the photos and videos. There were a lot to go through. So many that he now regretted not splitting up the new batch of intel among the men. That certainly would have been better than each man looking over the same intel and not making much forward progress. He’d remedy that tomorrow at the office. They’d split up the photos and videos in order to look for anything that would help them nail the bitch that killed Lieutenant Shaw. Hell, was she still in the Middle East, or had she already made it to the States?

The first video played. It was short, and the recording was grainy, but he could make out what was happening. The camp existed of several plywood tents that were draped in sturdy, desert camouflage fabric. Groups of men wandered through the camp. A group of men were training with AK-47s. They were shooting away from the camp towards portable targets with the mountains in the background. Only a few women wandered closer to the tents working at their tasks.

  9:00 PM

Aditya watched Logan leave. Little did he know that he took her heart with him. She closed her eyes and pulled the sheets over her breasts. She wanted to huddle down into the bedding and get lost forever, but she knew what Logan was up to. When he’d left, he’d forced her hand. Now she had a decision to make, and she didn’t like her choices.
