nerves. She let out a nervous sigh. Please ... don't let me get sniped! Closing her eyes with a finger poised over the keyboard, she counted to thirty then tapped the F5 key to refresh the page.

Her eyes widened when she opened them and stared at her computer screen. I won! I won both white outfits! She gasped, clasping a hand over her mouth while absorbing the reality of what she'd done. The final bid came in lower than expected, bringing her grand total for all four garments to just over six thousand dollars. She sighed in relief. Whew!

That was close. Under the wire by a few hundred. With trembling hands she sent a message to the auctioneer informing him that she was done bidding. He had emailed her following the second auction upon noticing her multiple wins, requesting that she let him know when she finished bidding so they could ship everything together. They had messaged back and forth several times during the course of the auctions. Everything had fallen into place. By paying for all the wins together she would have only one major purchase to explain. Her mind began scrambling for a way to cover her secret. Valentine's Day was only a few days away. Hmm, I wonder.

Five more auctions of the stage clothes would be listed. Nonetheless, Summer had known exactly which items she wanted and had accomplished her goal. The other listings held no appeal. Black jeans, a white shirt and tee-shirts—

nothing flashy. None carried the exclusive style and flair of these two white outfits.

  Hey, Summer,

Thank you for your purchases! We truly appreciate it. Your package will be shipped out tomorrow via express mail. You should receive it the next day. Let me know when you get it. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

  Cheers, Dustin

After reading the message, she closed out the screen. Before shutting her computer down she pulled up her favorite photo of the flashy guitarist one last time for the day, burning his image into her mind before going off to bed. She stared at him dressed in the very outfit she had just won. Jeans set so low at his waist she could see the soft trail of hair leading downwards then disappearing beneath the fabric. A unique pattern of shiny, white embroidery curved down and around the legs. God, how she wanted him! He couldn't possibly have underwear on under those skintight pants. Another inch lower, and she'd be able to see the masculinity barely concealed by white denim.

He looked awesome caught in action on film. Decked out in white with the vest hanging open—chest glistening with sweat under hot stage lights. Sweat from prancing around night after night, driving women wild with desire. How she longed to feel him in person, to touch the silky blonde hair and caress his sexy chest and abs. However, the clothes would have to suffice while she continued hoping for the dream, praying they would meet before either grew too old. A dream so far-fetched—yet it had been her lifeline for three decades. Savion Gibson! I am one step closer to you.

The hour was late; she nudged Eric awake and let him know she was going to bed. She brushed out her long, golden-blonde hair, thinking about Savion and his clothes. Once her teeth had been brushed and flossed, her pillow fluffed and the covers straightened, she slid into the comfort of clean sheets with a relaxing, "Ahh." Eric was already snuggled under the blanket and asleep. Weeknights had taken on the same dull routine. Dinner, brief conversation over the day's events, then television. They would choose a movie, and within the first half-hour Eric would be snoring away, leaving Summer to entertain herself. After cleaning the supper dishes, she'd set up for an evening of shopping in front of the computer. A mug of fresh coffee loaded with French Vanilla creamer on her right—credit card to the left ready and waiting. Tonight had been the most exciting bidding war ever. Right down to the last few seconds she hadn't known if her bid would win.

  What a rush!

Summer lay awake thinking about her auction wins. I wonder what they will actually feel like. Will I fit into them?

Oh, the thought of wearing Savion's clothes made her stomach flutter excitedly. He had spent many hours sweating in those trendy garments. Will they smell like him? She had never been close enough to breathe in his scent, yet imagined it would be as delicious as his looks. Even the black mark from his guitar strap had left a permanent stain across the 22

back and over the front shoulder. After playing the delightful images over and over in her head she eventually drifted off to sleep.

"Hello, Summer," a soft, English-accented voice said in greeting.

She felt blissfully happy and incredibly light, as if floating. He stood tall over her five-foot-five frame, close enough to touch!

"Savion," she managed to say in return, overwhelmed by his presence.

"You won more of my auctions than anyone else. I am pleasantly surprised."

A hot blush swept over her cheeks. "I don't know what to say."

He stepped closer, so close that his body brushed hers. A new white garment covered his sexy torso now. A sharp white leather blazer accented by black piping lay open at the neck, revealing a glimpse of his lightly haired, tanned chest. She felt faint. The light scent of his cologne blended with the heady scent of leather wafted over her. He smelled of slightly sweet musk, a unique blend of masculinity and class. Not too strong, yet extremely alluring. She reached out to touch the silky blonde hair hanging in stylish layers a couple inches below his collar. Glacier-blue eyes stared back at her for a moment frozen in time.

A silver chain with an unusual pendant dangled from his neck. She couldn't quite make out the pendant's shape. 23

"I see you're married," he said, looking somewhat disheartened while gently lifting her left hand. She swallowed against the dryness of her throat while glancing at the gold band on her finger. "Not of my own free will. But don't hold that against me." His smile revealed a row of straight, white teeth. "I would rather hold something else against you."

"Oh." She sighed, suddenly aware of her tingling breasts pressing against the thinness of her nightshirt. Chills raced over her skin but failed to diffuse the heat coursing through her veins.

Her gaze traveled leisurely down his body. A pair of black leather, jacquard pants clung to his long, lean legs, revealing the muscular shape of them. Her breathing quickened as she stole a fleeting glimpse at the large bulge between his sexy thighs, straining against the leather. His presence stole her breath. She couldn't stop her hands from gliding along the supple leather. A quiver of excitement shot through her body as her fingers lightly caressed the hard prominence below his navel.

A knowing smile curved his naturally pouted lips, then his arms slid around her in a gentle embrace. One firm hand rested at the small of her back while the other slid up the middle. She could feel the heat of his hands burning through the flimsy cotton fabric of her nightshift. He leaned over her, his face very close. She gazed into his dreamy eyes. Her eyes flitted between his intense stare and sensual lips. Is he going to kiss me? She gazed up at him. Longingly. Adoringly. His breath smelled fresh. Slowly his lips drew closer. Her eyes 24

closed just as his mouth touched hers. Ohhh, she sighed and melted into his embrace.

Suddenly a loud, repetitious noise distracted her. She opened her eyes to see the alarm clock flashing. It's morning already. Her body groaned at the thought. A dream? It was only a dream. It felt so real! A sigh of disappointment broke the morning silence as she stared at the ceiling with sad eyes. Yet, he still felt real, and his scent lingered in her senses. Rolling onto her stomach, she clutched
her pillow and closed her eyes, clinging to the dream as long as possible. Eric had left for the day and wouldn't be home until late. Thursdays were his longest days of the week. Tomorrow her package would arrive. She could barely stand the wait. However, another matter needed her attention. Monday would bring about Valentine's Day, and today she had plenty of time to shop without Eric knowing her whereabouts. This way she could tell Eric his gift had been ordered online so that when he asked about the mysterious, very expensive purchase on the credit card account, Summer could say it was his gift. The statement would only give a vendor name. She doubted Eric would delve deeper as long as her gift impressed him.

Now what the hell can I buy him that he'll believe cost six grand? And where can I find something like that with the cash I have?

While showering, Summer recalled an antique shop she'd seen during one of their excursions into the city. She didn't 25

like the thought of driving downtown alone, but desperation to cover her tracks pushed her forward. Quickly she dressed in blue jeans and a pink cotton tank top, dried her hair, dabbed on some makeup and grabbed her keys on the way out the door.

Never did she think her little undisclosed stash would be used to buy him a gift. The money she'd been squirreling away for years was supposed to be used in the event of Eric's demise. In addition to blackmailing her into marriage, the bastard had insisted she sign a prenuptial agreement that would leave her penniless when he died. Eric had covered all his bases to secure his hold on her. Obviously he had trust issues. Perhaps he thought she'd try to smoke him and take his money. After all, he was the only person who'd seen her shoot her way out of a violent situation. Maybe that image in his mind had kept his temper under control all these years. She almost laughed at the thought.

Either way, the money she kept hidden for that hopeful day would now have to cover another secret. She had become a master key to a closet of dark, corrupt skeletons.

Summer gazed out the bay window over the sloping green lawn of their mansion grounds, sipping a robust cup of coffee. Streaks of morning sun filtered through the lush treetops of new spring growth and through the glass, filling her kitchen with light. A beautiful, serene Friday morning. Online tracking indicated her package had been sent out for delivery and would arrive today as scheduled.

Luck had smiled on her yet again while shopping for Eric's gift yesterday. The antique dealer had recently purchased a major estate and had a very old yet stunning gold pocket watch with diamonds set at the hour marks. She had to haggle with the merchant rather fiercely. He had a price of three thousand set on the piece, but Summer had only two thousand in cash. When all attempts of persuasion failed, she burst into tears, telling him that if she didn't present a proper gift, her husband would unleash his anger. She left the shop with pocket watch in hand and guilt in her heart. Nevertheless, Eric would be impressed by the watch and accept that it cost what the online purchase for her auctions indicated.

What have I become? Lying? Keeping secrets? She wondered how much longer she could carry on like this. Forty-eight years old and still a virgin. The most she'd ever experienced with a man was heavy petting. Resentment began to resurface—a feeling she had stuffed down in order to continue this charade of a marriage. Wearing a happy face 27

for friends and family to hide her guilt. But what am I guilty of? Defending myself?

A sudden pounding on the front door jarred her from her meditative state. It's here! Without hesitation she hurried to the door and accepted the package, then dashed back the hall to her favorite guest bedroom. A king-size, four-poster bed adorned with pink and white bedclothes sat in the middle of the room. Sunlight poured through two large windows graced with white lace valances.

An enchanting scent floated through the room as she carefully removed the neatly folded clothes from a plastic shopping bag and laid them out on the bed. Her fingers caressed each garment lovingly, tracing each button as she made a mental note of every detail.

The white denim vest felt much heavier than it appeared in the photos, but the items looked just as awesome in person as they did on his body. She picked up her favorite vest, the one piece of his wardrobe that had cost her the most. Her fingers traced a silver accent buckle on the back, the same detail she had seen in the photos. Four buttons formed a row down one side of the front just below wide lapels trimmed in white brocade. Even the black strap mark from nights of him sweating onstage was identical to her pictures. Upon closer inspection she noticed a white button-down shirt lined the vest with the sleeves ripped off at the shoulders. I bet he ripped them off with his bare hands! Those long, slender, talented fingers. Oh. She sighed, running her fingers over the frayed edges.

Unable to resist another second, she removed her jeans and wiggled into her favorite pair of his. They fit extremely tightly, but she managed to get them on. Ohhh, they feel wonderful! Her hands raked over her thighs, getting a feel for the fabric. Small, rectangular stitches had been embroidered with shiny thread, adding distinctive flair to the denim. This man definitely has style! Wow, I can't believe I'm actually wearing his jeans. I guess this is one way to get in his pants!

She laughed out loud at the thought. Just the thought of where his clothes had been thrilled her. All her photos showed him wearing the white jeans so low he couldn't possibly have had underwear on. His naked body had been squeezed into the very same jeans on her body right now. She began to understand how fans of other celebrities could pay millions of dollars just for something their idol might have touched. Though her dream man wasn't a legendary icon like Elvis, to her, Savion was everything, and having actual items from his personal wardrobe felt intoxicating. Every touch delivered another heightened feeling of sensuality. Something odd was happening, and a definite connection to the garments developed instantly. Closing her eyes, she lifted the vest to her nose and inhaled deeply. A chill swept over her as the same scent she had smelled in her dream once again flooded her senses. How odd! She stood frozen for a moment as if another presence had entered the room. Hairs on the back of her neck and arms stood up as her skin tingled. Strangely enough the uncanny sensation didn't scare her. Instead, a strong, sensual feeling washed over her. She embraced it with her soul. The 29

strong ache in her core brought tears to her eyes. She wanted him so badly it hurt.

Time escaped her as she lingered over Savion's clothes. The free gifts Dustin had included were a nice touch. A teeshirt, hat, bumper stickers ... but most intriguing was a purple guitar pick with Savion's signature on the back. Wow! I wonder how many songs he played with this little thing. She admired it for awhile before tucking it into the front pocket of her new jeans, then made a mental note to send a special thank you to Dustin when she got back online. Glancing at the clock on the dresser, she saw that morning had become afternoon. Still, she had a few more hours to bask in this glorious feeling before hiding the clothes in a safe place. The room felt delightfully warmed by the sun, and she had no desire to leave. After pulling her cotton tee-shirt off she slipped her arms into the vest, then lifted the lapel collar up around her neck. Mm, he smells wonderful! So fresh! Her curvaceous figure prevented her from buttoning the front, but other than that it fit nicely across her back and shoulders. Standing at the foot of the bed in Savion's white jeans and vest with only a black satin bra and panties underneath, she drifted into a blissful haze of fantasy.

Suddenly the air became filled with a strangely sweet, utterly sensual cologne. Another chill raced over her, and she once again felt as if another presence had
come into the room. Only this time it startled her.

"'ello, love," an English-accented voice said from the doorway.

Summer swung around to face the most gorgeous man she'd ever seen. His unexpected appearance rendered her speechless. She stood momentarily stunned into silence, staring into vivid blue eyes set perfectly over high cheekbones and a straight, flawlessly masculine nose. I must be dreaming again. The words floated through her mind but didn't linger. He looked very real standing in his white leather blazer and black leather pants. A wild mop of silky blonde strands fell over his forehead to barely touch long lashes—the rest hung just below his collar.

"I didn't mean to give you a start. Are you all right?" he asked in a satiny smooth voice that made her feel faint. She managed to nod and offer him a smile. If this is a dream, may I never wake!

"You're wearing my clothes," he said with a charming smile.

Her face felt a rush of heat. "Yes ... I won them." Damn! Is that the most eloquent thing I can come up with?

He seemed amused. "They look smashing on you."

"Thank you. I like the way they looked on you. Am I dreaming again?"

He stepped up to her—so close, the heady mix of leather and musk wafted over her again, as it had in her dream. His impressive height towered over her.

"Does it feel like a dream?" His arms slid around her waist. His eyes boldly took her in. Deep blue pools gazed back at him. Nearly flawless ivory skin, untouched by false tanning or cosmetic surgery. Her figure, though not skinny, was incredibly voluptuous, with dangerous curves in all the right 31

places. She filled out his clothes provocatively and possessed a softness he had rarely seen. Her hair—wildly streaked with multiple shades of blonde—tumbled over her full breasts in lustrous waves as if spun from gold. He longed to bury his hands in those fiery locks and lay her down. Surely she is the one. She fits the description perfectly. She became acutely aware of the open vest she couldn't button and her scanty attire beneath it. His leather blazer lay completely unfastened now, exposing a muscular, tanned, bare torso with a light coating of dark blonde curls. A soft trail of hair just above his sexy navel continued downward to disappear beneath the low waistband of his black leather pants. He leaned into her, and their bare skin touched, bringing on the fluttery sensations again. She could feel every rippling muscle of his abs, each tantalizing curve of his hard body melting against hers.
