Without hesitation Lex said, “I would break all my rules for you.”
Roza took her hand and kissed it, before giving the bulge in her boxers a squeeze. “Come and eat me all up, baby.”
Lex dispensed with her boxers and T-shirt, climbed on top of Roza, and lowered her mouth onto one chocolate-covered nipple. The first taste was an explosion of flavour, and she hummed in pleasure.
Underneath her, Roza moaned and her hands went to grasp Lex’s head, but Lex clasped a hand over Roza’s wrists and held them down over her head. Time for a little payback.
She took long, slow swipes with her tongue, making Roza squirm beneath her.
“Is this what you wanted, Princess?”
“Yes, just like that.”
Lex bit and gently pulled her nipple, and felt Roza’s hips start to move, seeking relief from the strap-on teasingly touching her sex.
Before moving on to sucking the other nipple, she kissed Roza full on the mouth so she could taste the chocolate smeared on her lips.
“You taste so good, baby,” Roza said.
“You too, Princess. I can’t wait for more.”
Roza looked at Lex with a storm of emotion in her eyes. “I want you inside me. I think I’ve lost my own game.”
Lex stroked her brow and shook her head. “We’ve both won. I’ve never felt my body more alive, and it’s all because of you.”
Lex quickly moved to suck her other breast and lick the trail of chocolate down Roza’s stomach, and swirled her tongue around her navel.
She felt Roza’s hands pushing her down towards her sex, and she couldn’t stop herself from increasing her pace. She kissed Roza’s thighs, and opened up the lips of her sex to lick and tease the protruding clit she found there.
“Yes. Lex, I need to come.”
Lex looked right at Roza. “Do you want me to fuck you?”
“Uh-huh, now, baby. Fuck me.”
That’s all Lex needed to hear. She got up quickly and slid her cock into her slowly. “Jesus, you feel…I can’t describe it.” She slid all the way in and started to thrust. All the teasing and waiting had taken its toll on Lex. “Shit, I’m not going to last long.” Lex groaned.
Roza wrapped her legs around Lex’s hips, pulling her deeper. “Me neither. No more slow, baby. Fast and hard.”
“Fuck, yes.”
Lex kissed Roza as her hips frantically thrust. The orgasm that was building was nothing like she had experienced before. Better than sex on cocaine, much, much better. It felt almost painful as she neared the edge.
“Ah…I’m going to come, Princess,” Lex cried out as her hips slapped into Roza. She could feel Roza’s nails dig into her shoulders as the fire that had been slowly burning under her skin exploded all over her body and in her heart. She collapsed into Roza’s arms.
She gasped and tried to get her breathing under control. Lex had expelled some of her fears, her fears of losing control and succumbing to her body’s needs. Things were different now. They were different—now she had Roza.
“Baby?” she heard Roza say. “Are you okay?”
Lex got her strength back and leaned up so she could look Roza in the eyes, and for the first time in her life said, “I love you, Roza.”
Roza cupped her face and tears welled in her eyes. “I love you too.”
“I think you nearly killed me though,” Lex joked.
Roza giggled and rolled them over so she was on top. “You made me come so hard, Lennox King. I think I might need to kill you some more.”
Roza started to move her hips, and unbelievably Lex started to feel her sex come to life again. She wondered how she was going to have the energy to keep up with someone ten years younger than her.
I’ll have fun trying.

Roza woke and saw Lex sitting at the end of the bed. She was disappointed that she was dressed, but she crawled over and wrapped her arms around Lex’s neck, and kissed her cheek. “Good morning, baby.” She immediately felt Lex stiffen. “What’s wrong?”
Lex handed her the computer pad she was reading. “What’s right?”
All the morning news sites were running with pictures of her and Lex. The picture that was most telling was at the Dreams and Wishes launch event, and the photographer had caught her looking back to Lex for support. It captured an intimacy between them that was far beyond propriety.
Royal Rebel love scandal exposed. Princess Rozala in torrid love affair with former City trader and drug addict.
“I’m sorry your past is spread across the media because of me, but we were always going to have to face this, to be together.”
Lex pulled out of her grasp and stood. “We were always going to face the fact we can’t be together, and we were doomed to failure. I kept trying to tell you we would both get hurt if we went down this road.”
“Don’t say that. We can make this work. Apart from some royal duties, my father and brother leave me to live my life pretty much as I please. I’m not the heir, and I don’t have the same limits that Gussy has.”
“That was before your relationship with Thea Brandt. Look at this.” Lex turned to the TV on the hotel room wall and said, “Computer, play BBC News.”
Roza watched news reports of a joint operation between Denbourg, British, and US Special Forces to destroy sixty secret weapons caches, where illegal arms and drugs were being stored for her ex’s business and criminal business partners.
“Oh my God.”
Lex sat beside her and softened her tone. “Do you think after all that, your father is going to risk more bad publicity by giving his blessing to your relationship with a drug addict?”
“I don’t care what my father says. I love you, and I want to be with you, Lex,” Roza said as tears started to well up in her eyes.
“Sometimes love isn’t enough,” Lex said sadly.
Roza clasped Lex’s hand. “What do you mean? Don’t you love me enough to fight for us?”
Lex looked down at Roza’s delicate hand in her own. She did love her, but didn’t know if she was capable of the fight that she was sure would end in disaster. “Princess, I can’t handle a lot of stress in my life. To keep myself well and away from my addictions, I have to live a life of balance. I love you, but I don’t know if I’m strong enough to fight.”
Watching the tears rolling down Roza’s face was killing her inside and it was just going to get worse.
“Lex, please don’t leave me.”
“I have to go home and think.” Before she could change her mind she put on her jacket, lifted her overnight bag, and walked out.
Chapter Seventeen
Roza wiped away her tears quickly. She was angry that Lex didn’t seem to have the stomach for the fight, but at the same time understood her fear of losing control of her ordered life and losing the battle to her addictions. If Lex was afraid, maybe it was now time for her to take the lead and make her believe in them.
She got dressed and had Major Ravn and her team drive her back to St James’s Palace. They struggled through the crowds of press at the front gates and Roza hurried upstairs. When she walked through the door, Perri was there waiting for her.
“Roza, my darling.” She hugged Roza tightly. “Did you know about Lennox?”
She nodded. “Yes, but it’s not like the media have reported it this morning.”
“I never expected it was. The press always get things wrong. Do you need me to do anything?” Perri asked.
“Not at the moment. I’m going to phone Father. I need to fight for what I want and face him for once in my life.”
Perri grasped her hands tightly and gave them a squeeze. “Sounds like a plan. I’ll get you some breakfast. You must be hungry.”
Roza kissed Perri on the cheek. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
She hurried to the privacy of her bedroom and asked the computer to call her father. Roza was nervous as she waited for the call to connect, but this time she kept her outward self upright a
nd confident. She had to show him she was a woman capable of making her own choices, not the rebel who didn’t care.
The phone connected and Lord Dahl, her father’s private secretary, came on screen. “Good morning, Your Royal Highness. How can I help?”
Roza had never got on well with him. He had been dispatched to deliver the King’s displeasure to her on many occasions, and she felt he enjoyed every word.
“I would like to speak with my father please, Lord Dahl.”
“I’m sorry, that will not be possible, ma’am. Your father is extremely busy.”
Roza was infuriated. Who was he to speak for her father? “I ask that you go and convey my message to the King himself.”
“The King is in deep conference with the prime minister and the heads of his defence staff. Last night’s military actions have created a lot of business that needs the King’s personal attention, and he left instructions not to be disturbed.”
“I’m sure that rule doesn’t apply to his daughter, My Lord.”
“It certainly does, especially considering the catalyst for last night’s actions,” Lord Dahl said in a condescending voice.
“End call,” Roza said. “Pompous little prick.”
What to do? She was clearly being kept from the King. “Computer, call Gussy.”
Her brother immediately answered. “Roza? Are you okay?”
“I’ve been better, but I need your help. I take it you’ve seen the headlines about me this morning.”
“Briefly, yes. All hell has broken loose over here with the attacks on Thea Brandt’s arms stores. What the news stations haven’t reported as yet is as well as bombing, our troops were engaged in a heavy exchange of fire. Her organization is much larger than we thought.”
Roza sighed and lowered her head. “I’m sorry I brought her into our lives, Gussy. I live with the guilt every day.”
“You were an innocent, and you’ve really turned things around while you’ve been in Britain. Cousin George says that you and Bea are great friends and you’re doing wonderful things for her charity.”
Roza nervously pushed her hair behind her ears. Praise was a strange experience for her, especially praise given by her family, but she liked it. “I’ve tried hard, Gussy. Timmy’s is where I met Lennox King.”
Gussy’s warm smiling face became serious. “Tell me about her.”
“It’s not what you would have read in the media. Lex has been clean from drugs for six years, and since then she’s dedicated her life to charity and keeping healthy. I’ve fallen in love with her, Gussy. She makes me a better person.”
She watched her brother clasp his hands together as he seemed to consider this carefully. “What do George and Bea think of her?”
“Bea works really closely with her, and likes her. I believe George does too.”
“Major Ravn reported to me that she saved you from Brandt’s attacker and has gained her respect,” Gussy said.
“When did you speak to Ravn about her?”
“This morning when I saw the news reports.” Gussy moved closer to the screen. “Ravn is my eyes and ears around you.”
In the past that statement would have made her angry, but she knew it was just her brother’s protective instincts. She felt safe and secure with Ravn, and the major always tried to accommodate her wishes, so no, Roza was not upset this time.
“I need your approval, Gussy.”
“I’ll support you, but Father is a different matter. You know what his views are like. Especially with what he’s dealing with now.”
“Please tell me you’ll try. Lex loves me but she’s convinced you and Father won’t approve and will bring an end to our relationship. She’s frightened of getting hurt.”
“That’s a good sign in itself.”
“Gussy, this isn’t like what I felt for Thea. I know now that wasn’t love. I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life without Lex. She makes me stronger, more independent, and, above all, a better person.”
“As I said, I’ll try for you, Roza. I know how I’d feel if I wasn’t allowed to be with Freja. Carry on as you are, but be discreet. You might have to wait for what you want.”
All the pent-up stress and emotion came out in the form of tears. “Thank you, Gussy.”
Gussy smiled at her. “You’re a good girl, Roza. I’ve always known that. You have everything in you to be anything you want to be. Believe in yourself and remember that I love you.”
“Love you too, big brother.”
The screen went blank and Roza wiped her tears. Now I just have to convince you, Lex King.
*
When Lex turned the corner of her street and saw the crowds outside her house, she changed her plans quickly. She arrived at Vic’s house, and her friend immediately took her downstairs to her office.
“I’m glad you came. When we saw the news this morning…Well, I worried about you, mate. How do you feel?”
Lex took a seat at the front of the desk and gripped her wrist tattoo. If she could just hang on to that, maybe she could steer her way through this. She looked up at Vic and said, seriously, “Like I want a bottle of vodka and a two gram bag of coke.”
Vic didn’t even bat an eyelid. She went over to her office fridge pulled out two bottles. “Fortunately we’re all out of coke and vodka, so you’ll have to make do with organic carrot, beet, and ginger juice. A new line we’re trying at the supermarkets.”
She threw Lex a cold bottle of purple juice. Lex smiled and took a sip. She could always rely on Vic to find humour in any stressful situation.
“Thanks.” She ran her fingers through her short hair. “I don’t know where to begin or what to do with myself. I can’t go home because the press are twelve deep outside, and I can’t go to the gym because everyone will recognize me and I’m sure it won’t be long till the cameras are there too. You know the gym is my coping method. I need it.”
“How did the media get your personal information?” Vic asked.
“I’ve no idea. I knew after we attended the dinner at the palace last night they would know I was the mystery suitor, but I never expected this.” Lex held her head in her hands as she thought of her parents who had tried to call her a few times. “Oh God, what are Mum and Dad going to think? I’ve embarrassed them enough throughout my life already.”
“Stop that. All they’ll be concerned with is if you’re okay.”
Lex nodded. “I know. I walked out on her this morning. I didn’t want to, I just had to get away to think.”
“Princess Rozala?”
“Yes. Roza’s quite innocent in a way, despite appearances, and she thinks we can just walk off into the sunset, but I know life doesn’t work like that. Life is not a fairy tale.”
“You think her family will bring a stop to it?”
“Vic, her family has already been embarrassed by Roza’s ex-girlfriend. I’m not a good bet for being next woman in.”
“What does the princess say?”
“That she wants to fight for us. I told her I don’t think I have the fight in me.”
“Why? You’re one of the strongest people I know.”
Lex got up and walked over to the window that looked out over Vic’s large city garden. “I love her more than anything, Vic, but if I fight and lose, I not only lose her, I’ll lose my control and myself.”
Vic followed her to the window and joined her in looking out onto the garden, where Vic’s two little girls were playing with each other while their mother looked on.
“I felt the same when June told me she loved me. I nearly walked away, Lex. Can you imagine if I did? I would never have had the joy of having her as my wife, and these two beautiful little girls out there. Remember there are no guarantees—when you’re an addict, there’s always the chance we’ll fail. I could go out tomorrow and drink a bottle of whisky. There’s always a risk.”
Lex shook her head. Vic was her strength, Vic was her example. “You would never do that.”
“It
’s a possibility, Lex. June knows that as well as me, and if it happened we’d have to face it and start again.” Vic placed a hand on her shoulder. “Don’t close yourself off to happiness because of what might be. Her family might not accept you, and you might struggle with your addictions, but you and Roza might find a way to work it out.”
Lex sighed. “What do I do now?”
“You need time to think and somewhere you can work out while you do it. Go home to your mum and dad’s. Think, climb rocks, and walk in the countryside.”
“I don’t even know what I would think about. My brain is a mess.”
“It’s simple,” Vic said. “Can you live with yourself if you don’t try to be with the one you love? Can you live a lifetime without touching her again?”
Lex put her arms around Vic and hugged her. “Thank you. You’re the best friend anyone could hope to have.”
“I know—I’m good, aren’t I?” Vic joked. “Now you make a list of what you need and I’ll pick it up from your house. Then no one will know where you’re going—and remember, just keep breathing.”

“I have to speak to her, Ravn,” Roza pleaded.
The discussion between Roza and her head of security had been going for a while in the drawing room. After repeated failed attempts by Roza to call Lex, she had no option but to go to her.
“Ma’am, I would be derelict in my duties if I exposed you to that level of media attention. The TV reporters are broadcasting from outside her house. If you are trying to win over your brother and the King, this is not the best way to go about it.”
Roza had a frustrated retort on the tip of her tongue, but was silenced by the ringing of her phone. She looked at it quickly. “It’s Lex.” Roza hurried to her bedroom and answered. “Lex? Thank God. I’ve been trying to call you, and Ravn wouldn’t let me come to your house.”
“Good. I’m not there. I’m at my friend Vic’s. I couldn’t get near mine.”
