Ninja Assassin: Attraction Page 21

by Sally Keira

Lawso transferred the live footage of the room that Kaiya was in, onto the big screen.

Tadao spoke to his guests through his microphone again, while the waiters started bringing out the main meals.

"And here we have live footage this time, of contestant number three. This is my notorious niece, Kaiya Takahashi, who works for my estranged brother, Tatsuya Takahashi. I believe she got in through the front entrance on the arm of our Minister of Defence, Itsunori Tanaka. We can forgive you Itsunori because only one of my team recognised her. I myself did not."

Tadao was openly amused by Itsunori’s reaction. The Minister was staring at the screen in shock and embarrassment.

All eyes flew to Kaiya on screen, who now wore a shortened version of her earlier dress. Kaiya was holding a chair next to the first line of lasers. She sliced the back of the chair completely off through a laser beam. Then she shortened each of the chair legs with further cuts through another beam. She placed the chair on the ground next to the beams and paused, before picking it back up to shorten each of the legs all a bit more. Kaiya carefully eased two of the chair legs through a slightly wider gap between two laser beams. She twisted the now backless chair seat into the gap and brought the chair down to rest on the floor. The seat of the chair was hovering just above a horizontal laser beam.

Kaiya removed her blonde wig and tossed it onto the floor, leaving her hair secured in a tight hair net. Next, she removed her bulky necklace and very carefully placed it on the wig on the floor. The ballroom crowd gasped when she unzipped the back of her dress and also let it drop to the floor. Kaiya was now standing in a black push-up bra and black G-string. Even with her hair net in, she looked stunning with her perfectly toned figure.

In the ballroom Tadao shifted uncomfortably on his feet, while he watched his near-naked niece bend down and place her face on the chair. The audience were treated to a better view of her cleavage and then her bottom, as the upper part of her body slipped over the chair, only just fitting between the gap in the beams. Kaiya gracefully rolled forward off the chair. Her legs remained horizontal behind her, while also pulled them through the gap. The guests in the ballroom had gasped and clapped when her mostly exposed, firm butt just fit through the gap.

Some of the ninja's stood around uncertain of what to do about the security breach. But no one moved to intercept her because she was contained in that room. Most ninjas were standing, staring transfixed at the half-naked beauty on the big screen.

"No one enter that room until I say so. If she flinches she is going to lose body parts. She will probably get trapped inside the next squares anyway," Tadao spoke urgently into the microphone.

Lawso also stood mesmerised, staring at the screen in shock. His first thought was that he could not believe that Kaiya was in her underwear. As much as he enjoyed looking at her like that, he felt alarmed that she was daring to risk the lasers cutting her beautiful body to pieces. Her move with the chair was very clever, but she had only just made it through the gap. He could not see how this was going to end well for Kaiya. He feared Kaiya was going to be trapped, disfigured or killed!

Kaiya moved quickly to one corner of the second square of lasers. She laid down on her back on the floor. Her head was near a triangle gap where two diagonal lasers beamed out from the floor and intersected. Tilting her head back, she judged where to move next. Her shoulders pressed close together until they were almost disjointed, and her arms laid flat against her front. Bending her knees, she pushed off the floor with her feet and edged herself backward through the triangular gap. Kaiya's head passed through the gap. She squeezed her shoulders even tighter together as the beams appeared to be almost touching her on both sides. Slowly she swivelled further backward, her upper body somehow slithering through. A rest was needed when her hips were almost touching the lasers.

The ballroom crowd murmured amongst themselves as to whether they thought she would make it through. Satoshi did not think she would make it without scarring her hips. He looked anxiously across the room at Lawso and Yoshito, who were both standing side by side, gaping with their mouths open.

On the screen Kaiya shut her eyes and pushed off her feet. The top of her legs passed through. The fine hairs on her thighs singed but she registered no pain. Smiling victoriously, she sat and more easily pulled her feet through the gap. The ballroom crowd were silent at first. But after a delayed pause some of the guests clapped again.

Everyone was wondering what Kaiya’s plan was now that she was facing more horizontal beams, but this time without the aid of a chair. Kaiya stood with her legs apart and toes facing the final stacked rows of laser beams. Keeping her feet firmly planted, she twisted her body sideways, leaning forward to form a right-angle at the bend in her waist. She lifted her head and arms to keep them in line with her horizontally held upper body. Kaiya edged her legs further apart, almost doing the splits. This allowed her horizontally held upper body to drop in height above the floor.

When she slowly rotated her body back around in an arc, her head, chest and both arms all passed between one of the slightly wider gaps in the laser beams. Kaiya's out-stretched arms dropped down so that her palms pressed flat to the floor on the other side. The crowd murmured as Kaiya’s waist hovered dangerously between two laser beams. If she faltered now she would be sliced in half.

The ballroom crowd gasped dramatically again when Kaiya suddenly swung her legs upward behind her. She held her entire body perfectly horizontal behind her between the gap in the lasers, entirely supported by her two hands. Twisting her hands on the floor, allowed her to gracefully swing both of her legs around in an arc to the side. Kaiya accurately judged the gap by mere centimetres above and below her. She pulled her body through and dropped to the floor on the other side.

Kaiya jumped up quickly, and located the not so discrete off switch for the lasers next to the chip. The downstairs footage showed the laser beams switching completely off and Kaiya moving toward the glass case containing the chip.

Lawso realised that he had been holding his breath until Kaiya passed completely through the final row of stacked laser beams. He had been completely immobilised whilst watching Kaiya's movements. Her judgement of her body's placement in space had been perfect. She had passed through the final laser beams almost effortlessly. Her last move had been one only a talented gymnast could pull off. Lawso was still cringing at the thought that the beams could have easily sliced through her. He was relieved that she remained unscathed. No one else but Kaiya could have accomplished this feat and make it look so easy. There was no one like else like her! Lawso knew he had to move quickly. He would need to stop Kaiya escaping now before someone else killed her.

“Lawso, cut the footage,” Tadao said.

However, Tadao had to minimise the screen himself because Lawso was already racing up the stairs, and Yoshito was instructing his ninjas.

"Some of you detain her while the rest of you escort the guests out!" Tadao barked at his ninjas, who were already following similar instructions from Yoshito.

Tadao grabbed the microphone to speak to his guests.

"Obviously there is now a change of plan. We will be quickly securing the chip and moving it to another location. If you do not wish to get shot by one of my ninjas, everyone kindly exit my home immediately. This party is over. My solicitors will be in touch with each of you after we have duplicated the chip."

Yoshito spoke into his earpiece. “Kenji and Hiro, you follow me upstairs. The rest of you escort the guests off the property. Forcefully if necessary.”

Some of the ninjas cocked their guns in front of the guests, encouraging them to exit quickly. Two other ninjas were running up the stairs after Yoshito, as commanded.

Lawso had the door opened just as Kaiya placed her necklace around her neck and flicked the hidden compartment shut on the bauble. She decided that she would use the necklace as a diversion. She had slipped the actual chip inside her bra.

The room filled with four ninj
as (including Lawso and Yoshito) with their guns pointed at her. Kaiya deliberately clutched her necklace bauble in alarm.

  “Don't move, Kaiya!" Lawso commanded.

“Decided you needed two more ninjas this time, did you?” Kaiya said sarcastically.

Kaiya put her hands behind her back and subtly pressed her GPS bracelet on her wrist. Unbelievable that they were attempting to stop her now, after all she had just risked retrieving the chip. How close she had been to losing skin on her thighs in the second laser square! Now that she had accomplished the seeming impossible, she felt frustrated not to be immediately escaping with her prize. She was determined that she would still get away with this chip.

“Don’t even think about trying anything, Kaiya,” Lawso said. “I warned you not to come upstairs. You’d better cooperate or the consequences for you will be worse.”

Kaiya stared defiantly back at Lawso, Yoshito and the two other ninjas. The two ninjas she did not know appeared to be staring awkwardly, yet appreciatively at her body. She resisted the urge to cover herself with her arms because she would not appear intimidated.

“See something you like, boys,” Kaiya asked those other two ninjas.

“Yes,” one of them boldly answered and the other one laughed, keeping their guns aimed at her.

Kaiya used the situation to her advantage. Yanking her hair net off her hair, she flicked it in Lawso's direction, shaking her long dark hair free around her shoulders and back. Lawso narrowed his eyes at her disobedience.

“Don’t push me,” Lawso warned. “I told you not to move.”

"Can I at least put my dress back on?" Kaiya snapped.

"Fine," Lawso said, striding toward her.

The ninjas waited patiently as Kaiya dressed. Lawso zipped the back of her dress up for her. He was relieved when she covered herself because he felt distracted by her lack of clothing. He had disliked the way Yoshito’s two ninjas were looking at her.

Yoshito, however, seemed indifferent to her near nudity. He also seemed to be patiently letting Lawso take the lead with detaining her.

“Hand over the chip, Kaiya,” Lawso demanded.

  “Fine,” Kaiya snapped.

Lawso reached for her necklace as she removed it. Instead of letting him have it, Kaiya tossed it across the room to another ninja, who caught it by reflex.

“Now walk,” Lawso said, nudging his gun into her back in frustration.

“Give the chip to me,” Yoshito commanded, walking toward the ninja holding the necklace.

“I wouldn’t if I were you,” Kaiya said.

Yoshito hesitated, puzzled by her warning.

The ninja holding the necklace started to open the compartment on the bauble…

There was a small explosion in the room, knocking down Yoshito and the ninja who’d opened the necklace. The glass window also shattered and an alarm sounded. Kaiya vaguely wondered if Yoshito had been far enough away to escape the full blast of her little bomb. There was no time to find out because she was already fighting her way out of there.

Kaiya had kicked Lawso's gun out of his hand in time with the explosion and punched him in the face. He must have turned his head because she felt her fist connect with his cheek. She raced toward the window as Lawso grabbed the backless chair that Kaiya had used earlier, intending to throw it at her.

However, Lawso ended up throwing the chair at the other ninja still standing because that ninja was aiming his gun at Kaiya. The chair knocked the ninja down before he got a shot off.

“Stop, Kaiya, you’re going to get shot!” Lawso yelled.

But Kaiya sprung through the shattered glass window, without looking back. Lawso swooped up his gun and chased after her, out through the window onto the balcony. Yoshito and the other two ninjas were still down on the ground.

Kaiya could sense Lawso was in hot pursuit. At the far end of the long balcony she sprung over the railing without hesitation. She lowered herself until she was dangling from the bottom corner. A drop directly to the ground below would be just too far for her to escape injury.

Before he had climbed out the window Lawso had heard a large bang in the distance, repeated gun fire and an engine revving louder and louder. He now spotted an armoured hummer driving erratically through the grounds of the mansion, speeding toward them at a dangerous pace. Three ninjas on quad bikes had initially sped after the car shooting at it. The car had turned unexpectedly several times, deliberately crashing into the ninjas and sending them flying. The car righted itself when the ninjas were all wiped out, and sped toward the rear of the house. As it neared, Lawso realised it was Kazuo behind the wheel driving with a maniacal grin.

“If you jump, you’ll break bones, you crazy woman,” Lawso said leaning over the top of the balcony.

Lawso reached down, frantically trying to secure Kaiya's wrist. The hummer was closing in.

  “I don’t care!” Kaiya exclaimed.

Kaiya looked up into Lawso's blue eyes, realising with alarm that he almost had her. She could hear Kazuo's car approaching rapidly and knew she had to wait a few more moments in order to time her drop correctly. Unfortunately, Lawso succeeded in grabbing hold of her wrist.

“Your hesitation to jump tells me you are waiting to land on that car,” Lawso said. “Forget it. You’re not going anywhere.”

Kaiya felt Lawso yank her hold off the bottom corner of the balcony. She was dangling in the air as Lawso tried to pull her back up.

  “Yes, I am,” Kaiya said.

Dragging her feet on the outside of the balcony, created some resistance but not enough.

“Up you come,” Lawso sounded determined.

Cursing his strength, Kaiya panicked when she continued ascending. So she used her free hand to dig her nails into Lawso's hand.

“Let go of me, Lawso!” Kaiya shrieked.

The hummer reached them below and turned at the last-minute, breaking, and narrowly avoiding crashing into the building. Kaiya's free hand ripped more harshly into Lawso's skin.

“Fuck!” Lawso swore, as he involuntarily released his hold on her.

Kaiya felt herself falling. She landed hard onto the roof of the hummer with a bang, dinging the roof. The momentum caused her to roll haphazardly off the car onto the ground. She landed on the grass on the driver’s side away from the building.

Kaiya stood up with a pained expression. Sharp pain radiated from one of her ankles. Kaiya and Lawso stared at each other across the distance between ground and balcony.

“Stop, Kaiya. Don’t make me shoot you,” Lawso demanded.

Time seemed to stand still for a few moments. Lawso kept his gun trained on Kaiya.

“Do it then!” Kaiya yelled back desperately.

Lawso’s blue eyes flashed in frustration, while he watched her defiantly hobble toward the car door. In the time that Lawso hesitated, Kazuo flung open the door and yanked Kaiya inside, throwing her past his lap and onto the passenger seat. Kazuo slammed the car door shut.

  "Got it?" Kazuo asked.

“Yes,” Kaiya nodded. “Get us out of here.”

“Gladly,” Kazuo said as he slammed his foot on the accelerator.

Another ninja joined Lawso on the balcony and bullets showered the car.

Kazuo’s car erratically sped off around the side of the estate, toward the front of the building.

"Ready to go through a fence?" Kazuo asked Kaiya.

“Why not,” Kaiya said as she frantically strapped on her seatbelt.

A crowd of ninjas were in front of the house shooting at their armoured vehicle. Four more quad bikes were closing in, attempting to corner them. Bullets were slightly penetrating the bulletproof glass windscreen now, but it did not shatter completely yet. Guests were behind the fence line, running to their cars for cover.

“Damn, my exit is blocked,” Kazuo muttered.

“Make another one then!” Kaiya yelled desperately.

“If you insist,” Kazuo grinned crazily.

  Making a
split decision, Kazuo spun the wheel rapidly. The sharp turn sent them flying up the stairs at the front of the mansion. Ninjas dove out of the way when the car flew up over the steps. The hummer tilted with two wheels in the air, almost flipping over. They felt the bottom of the hummer scraping the concrete as the car landed flat again off the stairs.

Kazuo grinned at Kaiya because she had been screaming. He spun the wheel again with a screech of tyres, to point the front of the car toward the street.

“Die, gate,” Kazuo joked, as he accelerated them directly toward the fence line of the mansion.

The front gate was already hanging heavily damaged from his earlier entrance. The hummer easily drove over what remained of the gate. There was another loud crash, as the gate was crushed again and dislodged completely from the fence.

Their heavily damaged hummer bulldozed a path out onto the street.

“Yeahhhh!” Kaiya and Kazuo were both screaming with exhilaration.

Kazuo took a sharp turn to head out of the suburb. With an additional loud screech of tyres, they raced off away from the mansion and away from their enemies.

“There’s a couple of ninjas still chasing on quad bikes,” Kazuo said, looking in the rear mirror.

“They’ll never keep up with your rally driving,” Kaiya grinned.

“Yeah, I know. They’re getting smaller in my rear mirror,” Kazuo said with satisfaction.

Kaiya could not believe they were getting away! She pulled the chip out of her bra and waved it at Kazuo. They both laughed hysterically at what they had just accomplished.

"You are amazing, Kaiya!" Kazuo exclaimed loudly.

And he did not even know about the lasers yet.

"And you are one frightening, crazy-arsed driver!" Kaiya screeched excitedly back at him. “It’s good to be on the same crazy team!”

“Sure is. Wish I’d been able to see Yoshito and Lawso’s faces when we got away!” Kazuo said.

“Devastated that we’d bested them, no doubt! I’m on such a high. I can’t wait to give the chip to my father,” Kaiya said.
