“…see you.”
You’d like to see me?” she repeated.
“Y…”
Was that a yes?
“…now?” he asked.
“I can’t hear you.”
“Are you available now?”
She got it that time. He sounded like he was yelling, but his voice didn’t register much louder. Where was he calling from?
Sharice paused. A woman should never appear too available, especially at 11:10 P.M. Even author Greg Behrendt would probably agree with that. She let her gaze drift back to Maxwell’s, to the line that now looped around the corner. There’d be a good-size crowd inside. Odds were, even she could find someone interesting inside.
But she had someone who might be interesting right here, right now.
Screw Greg Behrendt. She didn’t care if Shawn wasn’t “into” her because she had no intention of being “into” him. After all, she wasn’t looking for a relationship. She didn’t have to go by all the rules.
“What do you have in mind?” she asked.
