ChapterOne
Dana
I’ve never wanted to slap a bitch more than I wanted to slap my own daughter.
Camilla Nicole White stood in front of me at my husband’s church playing the part of the dutiful daughter. We posed for pictures after Easter Sunday and she had to squeeze her way in between Emmanuel and me pushing me to the back.
As usual, I had to grin and bear it while she moved to the front. My eyes zeroed in on my husband’s hand resting on her lower back. She was still fucking him. That much I knew.
I saw it in the way she smiled at him. I saw it in the way she did whatever he told her to. I saw the marks he left on her shoulders and her neck; the same marks he used to leave on me before he decided to withdraw from our marriage.
Emmanuel and I used to be so close before Camilla seduced him. We used to work together as a unit: Pastor and First Lady Scott. We were such a power couple and to the rest of the world we still were, but anyone inside of our family knew better. I didn’t even live inside of my own damn house anymore! Oh, I lived house adjacent in the pool house but it’s been a year since I’ve slept in the bed I used to share with my husband. I’m sure Camilla left her slutty stench all over the place in there. In my house. My room!
“First Lady Scott, let’s get a picture of you and Pastor Scott.” The photographer was smiling in my face and motioning for me to squeeze in next to Emmanuel. As always, I smoothed on my media-ready smile and posed. Emmanuel’s hand never touched my lower back. I was lucky our arms touched. Even though I hated him for what he was putting me through, I still wanted him and I wanted my rightful place; back in my house and with my husband.
“Hey Dana, can I see you in my office?” Trevor smiled at me and his green eyes sparkled. He was so handsome, even after all these years. He didn’t have one strand of silver hair, not one wrinkle on his smooth honey-colored face either.
It was amazing to me that nobody noticed he was Camilla’s real father. They looked just alike. When he first came back into my life it was hard for me to even look at him because he looked so much like our daughter. Now, all I wanted to do was look at him. How can you go from never wanting to see a man to wanting to see nothing but that man?
I followed him into his office and he closed the door behind us. His eyes roamed freely over my body and even though I was covered in a knee-length white Chanel dress and blazer, I knew he was undressing me. I couldn’t hide my blushing. “You looked like you needed to get away,” he remarked.
“Yeah. I did. You know I can’t stand to look at Camilla for too long. I start fantasizing about knocking her teeth out.” I glared out of the window.
“She’s still your daughter, Dana,” Trevor reminded me.
“She can be your daughter. I’m done with her.” I didn’t understand how, even after knowing that Emmanuel was screwing our daughter, could Trevor be so kind. He told me he had plans but never told me what they were. I just hoped that they would get me my spot back in Manny’s life.
Trevor walked up behind me and removed my blazer, hanging it on the back of a chair. “Okay,” he chuckled. “She looks more like me anyway.”
“She looks exactly like you, Trevor. It’s like I had no parts in making the girl.”
“That’s true but she acts just like you.” He leaned down and kissed my neck softly. It felt like old times when we lived in Santo Domingo. I should have never messed our old life up. I wouldn’t be going through any of this mess that I’m in now. But I also wouldn’t be at the head of a multi-million dollar business and a part of the richest family in the country either.
I turned to face Trevor and we crashed into a passionate kiss. “Let me fuck you while he’s out there,” he murmured in my ear. I blushed at his words and shook my head. I was always so scared that Manny would catch us one day if we ever had sex while he was in the building. Then I knew my time would be up, my status and money would vanish. That’s why we always waited until he was gone or until Trevor snuck to the pool house late at night. Manny was always so into his work, or into Camilla that he never noticed anything I was doing in the pool house. It hurt but Trevor made it better.
Usually, he listened when I said no but right then he wasn’t listening at all. His hand slid up my dress and I swallowed back hard. “Trev, we have to be careful.”
“I locked the door,” Trevor smirked at me and my stomach was doing flip-flops. Slowly, he inched my Easter dress up around my waist. He stopped to admire my legs before pushing me over his desk.
“What if Manny comes looking for us?” I whispered.
“Dana, who gives a fuck?” Well, Manny never cared about where he fucked and flaunted Camilla so I guess I should throw my caution to the wind too. I looked over my shoulder at Trevor and he was pulling his dick out. It sent chills down my spine. I felt him slide inside of me and I moaned out. I shut my eyes and tried to stifle my moans. He felt so good inside of me though. Trevor always knew exactly what spots to hit. “I knew you wanted this dick, Dana.” He said gruffly in my ear as he pounded inside my walls.
“Trevor,” I moaned. I could never hold on for too long when we fucked. He was too intense. When he dug his fingertips into my hips I yelped out at the pressure.
“You gonna cum for me?” He asked.
“Yes!” I could already feel the trembling rippling through my body making my breaths grow shallow and my skin tingle. Trevor grabbed my hair and pulled it back hard so my back arched just the way he liked it. “I’m gonna cum!” I tried to whisper but to hell with that shit. Trevor knew my body from years of experience and it showed. He dug his thick cock deep into me, slamming my cunt over and over until I flooded him with my juices. My orgasm made him cum so fucking hard and when he did, he finally let my hair go. My scalp throbbed in tune with the rest of my body, making the orgasmic aftershock that much better.
“I love you,” I panted.
“I know you do, baby.” He slapped my ass and zipped his pants up. I walked back out into the main church with wobbling knees and a smile hidden on my lips. If I couldn’t get Manny back, the least I could do was fuck his friend and assistant pastor behind his back. He was so full of himself that he failed t
o notice anything going on.
Camilla and Manny were still stuck side by side just like before I’d left with Trevor. Sickening. Xavier finally brought his ass over to take pictures. God knows what or whom he was doing. Every woman in the church wanted dibs on him. Not that I could blame them. He was a fine young man. I knew it must have been a who, when I saw the glare of death Camilla shot in his direction. I just smiled, happily knowing that someone was fucking her over too. Bitch.
“Hey Dana,” Xavier smiled and winked at me. “I see you’re feeling good this morning.” I lowered my brows and turned down the corners of my lips.
“What are you talking about, boy?”
“I noticed you came out of your blazer from service this morning.” He shifted his eyes to Trevor then back to me. I swallowed the knot forming in my throat then narrowed my eyes at him. He was such a slick-mouthed smart ass. He made me leery at times.
“I was a little warm, yes,” I smiled politely.
“Yeah, it gets warm in those offices.” He chuckled and shook his head as he walked over to Camilla. The smile dropped from my face and I fought the urge to hurl a Bible at the back of his head. I didn't have time to throw things at Xavier though I had a book signing to do. It was the last stop on my book tour and I was more than ready to get the shit over with. I’d visited every state signing and discussing copies of Letting Christ Lead Your Marriage. Little did everyone know that book was a farce. I wanted to let Christ lead my marriage but instead, my daughter seemed to be leading it. The book should've been titled: How to Let Your Daughter Get Fucked by Your Husband While You Move Into the Pool House.
It was way too long for a title though.
Just as I slid into the backseat of my chauffeured Benz, I was being handed a tour schedule. I looked at it with a frown. None of this was right. Today was my last stop but instead of seeing Orlando as the very last place I saw the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo to be exact. My heart shriveled and sank to my knees. “Who made this schedule?” I barked at my assistant. Her chestnut eyes grew big and she scrolled through her phone looking for answers.
“Mary did,” she replied. Mary was Manny’s assistant so that meant he had something to do with sending me on one last stop in my hometown of Santo Domingo. I halted the SUV from moving and stormed back into New Grace Ministries. The Easter crowd had died out and now there was staff left chattering and setting up for Easter brunch in the dining hall. I ran into Xavier first.
“Where is my husband?” I seethed.
“Which one?” He laughed but I didn't. “Emmanuel is in the dining hall,” he finally said.
“I'm standing right here you could've asked me.” Camilla grinned at me.
“Mmm hmm. I bet I could have.” I grumbled. The dining hall at New Grace was colossal. Cherry wood floors, floor to ceiling stained glass windows, several long rectangular tables were spread throughout the hall along with a moderately sized stage at the head of the room. Crystal chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceilings casting prisms all over the floors.
Manny was standing in the middle of a crowd of staff, delegating to Mary who was holding on to a clipboard and an iPad. I stormed over to my husband and waited for Mary to remove herself. Once she took over doling out instructions, I glared up at Manny. “What, Dana?” He sighed.
“Why is my last stop now Santo Domingo?”
“What? Are you not happy about it? I liked the idea, myself.”
“Why would you do this? I’m already tired from the US tour.”
“I didn’t do anything Dana. It was suggested to me and I had Mary make the arrangements.” He said smoothly. I hated how his voice held no emotion when he spoke to me. It wasn’t like a man speaking to his wife. It was like a co-worker having a chat at work. It stabbed at me. I wanted him to want me.
“I know you had something to do with making this happen, Manny!” My voice rose causing a few stares in our direction. I had to get a grip on myself. I hated causing a scene more than anything. I knew in my heart that I had to let my husband lead me but how could I when he barely looked at me? How could I let him lead me when he was screwing my daughter? Manny turned to me and forced a smile on his handsome face.
“Dana, do we need to step out of the dining hall for a moment?”
“Yes,” I snapped. I jumped at any chance to be alone with him. Maybe with some work and prayer, I could get him to look at me the way Trevor looked at me. Or at the very least I could get him to see that keeping me out of my own house was stupid and trivial. We walked outside where the pregnant clouds were starting to gather. A storm was coming.
“You wanna have everyone in our business? Picking our life apart, Dana?” His jaw was clenched, making his words strained.
“No. I didn’t mean to have an outburst. I just got so upset when I saw where this tour stopped.” Even though Manny hadn’t had sex with me in years, I still yielded to him and he still had a hold on my body.
“Well if you want the extra money that goes along with this new stop on your tour, then you’ll do it.” I glared at him.
“You know that’s not why I’m worried about this. I can’t go back there and see those people.” I cringed thinking about my humble beginnings.
“You mean your family, Dana?”
“Don’t call them my family. I left them a lifetime ago. You are my family.” I pleaded with my eyes. “Manny, just…” My words got caught in my throat and when they finally came out emotion clung to each syllable. “Let’s try to work things out between us. Please? I miss being in the house with you.”
“You miss being in the house. You don’t miss me.” He laughed dryly.
“I do. Let’s go to marriage counseling. It’ll show the world we’re human too.” I was constantly thinking about ways to improve our public image. Marriage counseling was risky but if we came out on top the world would cheer for us. Manny seemed to consider it. For the most fleeting moment, I saw it in his deep colored eyes. I knew I could connect with him from a public standpoint.
“I don’t know, Dana.” He rubbed a hand over his chin then glanced at me. “I don’t think it would be a good idea for the direction I’m going in.” My face melted into a frown. For once I thought I’d gotten through to him.
“You should think about it, Manny.” I was calm on the outside but inside was a raging storm. I wanted Manny to notice me.
“Uh huh.” He replied. His focus was already away from me.
“Look, I’m not doing this stop in Santo Domingo. I just can’t, okay? You can take this right back. I don’t feel God wants me going backward.” Manny looked at his Baume & Mercier watch and then back at me like I was a waste of his time.
“I didn’t have anything to do with you going there. It was suggested to me, and I thought you going back home would be a good look publicly. Like I said before.”
“No,” I declared.
“You will go. You will sign the damn books, and you will make us more money.” He made me feel like a damn child.
“Funny how you can say us when it involves money, Manny.”
“It is funny,” he chuckled. “I should have said you will go and make me money.”
“You’re moving away from Christ, Manny. You need to leave that little girl alone.” I snapped angrily. I hated seeing him morph into a heathen right before my eyes.
“Dana, please spare me that shit. I’m gonna keep doing as I please, with whom I please. Get off your high horse. I can see through your glass house.” He turned on his heel and went back inside. My heart pounded wildly against my breastbone. What the hell did he mean my glass house?
I rubbed my temples and recited my favorite Proverbs verse. It helped me through everything: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Amen.
ChapterTwo
Trevor
Sitting on a dining hall table, I could get a nice view of Dana and Manny talking outs
ide. I pretended to be on my phone but my eyes were glued to them. The way she waved the tour schedule back and forth in his face had me fighting back a smirk.
I was glad I’d suggested the stop in our hometown. She was always running from her shit. Trying to act like she didn’t have a life prior to being First Lady. I knew it meant more to her than anything to have that status and to be tied to Manny.
She poured over her clothes and jewelry, forever fretting over losing them whenever Manny finally tired of her. I despised the materialistic groove she’d fallen into. Dana checked her bank accounts religiously and gave a sigh of relief every time money was deposited into her account.
I’d suggested that she move out of the pool house and get her own spot, but she snapped at me saying that people would notice if she wasn’t living in her home.
Once I had my way though, people would notice it with or without her moving out. I was just trying to make it easier on her.
“Hey Dad, what are you doing?” Camilla sat beside me on the table and laid her head on my shoulder. I put my phone down and smiled at her, my baby girl. I still saw the images of Manny fucking her on his desk sometimes when she made certain expressions. I always pushed them away because if I didn’t I would kill him with my bare hands.
Camilla had no idea I knew about them. I wanted to keep it that way too. I didn’t need her getting upset and flying off the handle trying to explain what I already knew. She’d fallen under Manny’s spell just like Dana did, just like the millions of other people did. “I was texting someone.” I lied to her.
It was becoming increasingly easy to lie to her and everyone else. It seemed like lies were in the air we all breathed anyway. Camilla peered out of the window as Manny headed back inside and frowned. “Wonder what the hell those two were talking about?” She grumbled.
“Dana has a new tour stop,” I smirked. “In Santo Domingo.” Camilla’s eyes grew big then a sly smile settled on her face.
“Hmm…good.” She quipped. “I’m sure she’ll try to weasel out of it. No way she’s gonna face her hometown.” I shrugged my shoulders and stood up. “I don’t know, baby girl. Manny has a way of making people do what he wants.” I fixed my gaze on her and she looked down, shifting uncomfortably.
