  Chapter One

“Son of a—” Moonbeam Szuzman cut herself off and gritted her teeth before finishing her phrase, “Biscuit eater,” she growled, very much wanting to let loose with a string of profanities.

She’d been running all over God’s green earth today dropping off flyers and information packets about Daly’s first annual Rodeo and County Fair. Her boss, Rayna, the town’s somewhat self-appointed tourism liaison, had organized the activity and now pretty much all the business and land owners in the region were on board for the event, but Moon had been tasked with making sure everyone got paperwork into their hands.

“No,” she yelled, as her car shuddered a few times then spluttered to a halt. She jerked forward in her seat as if she could get the car to move by sheer body momentum, but her hundred and thirty pound, five-five frame was no match for the hunk of metal.

“Fu—Fudge!” She smacked her steering wheel then dropped her head to the unforgiving faux-leather. “Nooooooo!” she wailed, turning the key and getting nothing but deathly coughs from her car. “Fudge, fudge, fudge,” she muttered. This couldn’t be happening.

She sighed, knowing this was all her fault. She’d known she was low on gas, but her gauge was broken. Unfortunately, she hadn’t been keeping close track to the mileage today with all the travelling—which she knew was when she should have been paying the closest attention. But…she was her mother’s daughter—just a little air-headed and very likely to name her own children nature-y names like hers and her sisters, River and Sunflower. Only their sister, Paisley, had escaped the theme, but even that was a little hippie-esque.

Well, this was great. She’d have to call her sister and drag her from bed to rescue her. Paisley and her husbands would be just thrilled since Moon was on the road that ran the far western edge of the Flying D Ranch which was a good two hours drive from their place. Kinda far. Perhaps she should call information and get the nearest road service to come out.

Or maybe she should just cry. One look at her phone showed she had zero service right now. She didn’t have so much as a wavering single bar.

“Please God,” she muttered, climbing from her car and holding her cell above her head. “Please give me a signal. I promise I’ll get the gas gauge fixed.” Her boss’ husband owned the garage and had offered to let her make payments, but she’d declined. Big mistake.

And God wasn’t amenable to a bargain either.

“Fuck!” she screamed into the night. “Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck! Fuck fuck fuckity fuck!”

  “Um, happy to oblige, ma’am.”

Moon shrieked as a cowboy appeared at the rear of her car, startling ten years from her life. Her heart rocketed into her throat as she stumbled backward into her car door.

He stepped close enough to be illuminated by her interior lights. “Easy there, Moon. It’s just me.”

She blinked up at him, noting the dark hair and eyes, along with the light stubble covering his strong, angular jaw. Finally, she breathed, and the air made her a little lightheaded. “Pete.”

Pete Conlon grinned and nodded as if tipping his hat though he didn’t wear one. “Yes, ma’am. Troubles?”

  She grimaced. “Out of gas.”

“Hmm… We don’t have any with us. And I’m guessing you don’t get a cell phone signal out here.”

  “Guess not.”

“Well, we’re not heading back ‘til tomorrow, but you can stay with us tonight. Our boss’ll send someone over to get your car tomorrow.”

“Us?” she asked, narrowing in on that part of the statement.

“My cattle team. Cord, Sully and me.” His dark eyes assessed her, and even through the gloom of night, she saw the speculation in his gaze.

It didn’t surprise her. She knew how things worked around here. Women were in short supply, with men outnumbering them a hundred to one. There’d been great rejoicing when she and her sisters had moved here after their oldest sister’s “marriage” to her two husbands. So far, she, River and Sunflower hadn’t picked out any men, but they all knew that if they stayed in Daly, if they picked a guy from here, that it was unlikely they’d have just one man. People did groups here.

Another reason, it was good she was like her mother—not that her mom had been into group sex that Moon knew of. She’d just been an open thinker.

Moon wasn’t opposed to the idea of a ménage. If she found the right guys. The irony of one of the frontrunners showing up in her time of need didn’t escape her. Maybe this was a sign.

“You guys don’t mind?” she asked. “I mean, I could stay in my car, I guess.” She bit her lip as she considered how long that wait could be. “I mean…maybe you guys could send someone for me when you get back.”

“That’s silly,” he replied, shaking his head. “C’mon. We have food and a fire. The beds are kinda hard but we can distract you.”

There was that speculative look again. Moon licked her bottom lip and glanced at the orb she’d been named for. A full moon. It made people do crazy things, and she was about to join the ranks. A night with three cowboys who often made her feel all tingly and hot inside didn’t sound like a bad idea.

“You don’t have a phone?” she asked.

“It doesn’t work out here. No man’s land, you might say.”

“Okay.” She nodded. What would it hurt to spend time with them? It wasn’t as if they’d force her to have sex. They weren’t like that. If nothing else, she’d have some fun company for the night. For the first time since she’d had her tirade, she noticed a pinpoint of flickering light in the distance.

“What are you doing?” a voice asked from the darkness. “You gotta share, Pete.” Cord Sabatello stepped from the shadows. “Hey, Miz Moon. Gonna come play with us?”

Cord was the most good-humored of the group, so she wasn’t surprised he described being with them as play.

“Will you be good?” she asked.

“Cord’s never good.” Sullivan Przekop moved into her line of vision, and all her cowboys were now present.

“Speak for yourself,” Cord scoffed, his hand going to his belt buckle as he did a shift that only a man could ever successfully pull off—not that a woman would want to. His meaning was clear. Her pussy was in grave danger of infinite pleasure if she let him near her—and she just thought she might. These three were always fun, and right now, she could use a little of that.

“So about this ‘fuck fuck fuckity fuck’…” Pete reminded her. “What do you say?”

“I thought you were offering food and fire.

  “That too.”

She made a face but couldn’t hide her amusement.

“Miz Szuzman,” Sully broke in, his deep-south accent laid on thick. “In case it passed your notice, we’ve been trying to get your attention for months now.”

“There’ve been a lot of men—”

Pete growled, and the other two looked none too happy. She smacked Pete’s arm. “Not in my bed!”

He appeared far from mollified, and a shiver went down her back at this new side of Pete’s cowboy pack. At the moment, she could only describe them as territorial. As in “she was their territory, and all other comers better back the hell off.”

And that made her so hot she almost couldn’t breathe for her need for them.

“So what do you say?” Pete repeated.

  “Just for tonight?” she asked.

None of them looked too pleased. Suddenly, Cord stepped forward, a huge grin on his face. Leaning down, he lifted her over his shoulder fireman style. “We’ll start there.”

Before she could so much as screech at the manhandling, he headed through a narrow access in the jack-fence then toward the pinpoint of light with his teammates following him.

  Chapter Two

“What are you doing?” she demanded. “I’m not a sack of feed!”

“Can’t have you twisting your pretty, little ankle in a hole. That’d ruin everything,” Cord told her. In no time, he entered their campsite. Horses grazed nearby, paying no attention to the odd human behavior near the fire pit though one of them made a soft nickering sound as the soon-to-be lovers approached. Somewhere nearby, a stream burbled past, and evening bugs sang their nightly symphony. It was really quite peaceful here under the millions of bright stars—far more peaceful than the jangling anticipation inside her.

Large, flat stones surrounded the flames, and Moon suspected this must be a regular stop for the Flying D cowboys. Two pans rested on the stones, indicating that the three men had been cooking when she’d had her fit and reminding her stomach of the granola bar she’d had before noon today. Almost ten hours ago. Her stomach growled, but food wasn’t what she was most hungry for.

The men had opened their sleeping rolls near the blaze, and Cord set her down on one of them.

“You guys aren’t out to put a notch in your bedposts, right? You’re not gonna go bragging all over town about this?”

“You wound us, ma’am,” Pete replied.

“It’s a valid question. I don’t want men around here thinking I’m easy. I like my job, and I like living here. If guys think I’m an easy target for sex, I might have to leave.”

“Moon,” Sully dropped beside her on the blankets. “No one thinks you’re easy. You’ve been here for months, and no one has even gotten you to go on a date. How many bouquets of flowers and boxes of candy and other sundry items do you get a week?”

“Too many. It’s really embarrassing. That’s one thing I’ve always appreciated about you three. You drop in and talk to me, joke around with me, but you’re not always showering me with stuff—not that I don’t like presents once in a while but…”

“But you want it to mean more than ‘you’re a woman and we’d really like you in our bed’? Geez, Moon, how shallow,” Pete laughed.

“Sorry to say,” Cord deadpanned, “But…well, you are a woman, and we do want you in our bed.”

Moon cleared her throat and looked down at her crossed legs. “I know.”

“It’s not all we want,” Sully said.

“What do you want?” she asked, unwilling to assume anything and hoping they didn’t desire more than she could give.

“Maybe…to date you. To get to know you well. To see where things go,” Sully offered.

“But kinda in a reverse order? Sex first?”

“Hell no,” Pete cut in. “We’ve been courting you for a bit now, sweetness. We’re just glad to finally get past the sitting room.”

She giggled, unable to help herself though she hated giggling and it drove her a little nuts when she heard it—usually from silly, coy girls. She hoped she was neither. “I guess you have been. So what now?”

To her surprise—and delight—Sully leaned right over and planted his lips on hers. His hand cupped the back of her head, and he tilted her for better access as his mouth parted hers. She opened readily, accepting his tongue as he pushed forward to explore her. One of her hands lifted to his shoulder while either Pete or Cord grasped the other and brought it to his chest. Her fingers splayed, feeling the taut muscle underneath.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Sully tilted her back on the blankets, his body following as his mouth never lost contact with hers. She groaned at the pleasure of his body pressed to her side. Futilely, she tried to focus on everything going on around her. Hands seemed to touch her everywhere. She smelled dust and heated man and horses. The guys’ scent wasn’t offensive, but full of power. Clean and saturated with hard, manly work. And it revved all her engines to know these strong, dedicated men wanted her.

Suddenly, deep down she knew she was making the right decision. The car problem, the moon and her flightiness aside, this was right. Those were just catalysts for what she’d been putting off for too long.

“God, Moon, your mouth tastes so good,” Sully muttered against her lips.

“Let me taste,” Pete said. And as easy as that, his mouth covered hers as Sully moved down her body, joining Cord in touching her and kissing bits of exposed skin. Pete’s lips pressed more firmly than Sully’s had, but it wasn’t unpleasant, just different. She liked that their kisses weren’t the same and wondered what Cord’s would be like.

Pete’s fingers tangled in her hair, and she sensed that he might be the rough one of the bunch. At the same time, she realized her blouse was coming open. The cool night air touched her skin then two mouths were on her belly and fingers traced the line of her torso. Pete moved to give his partners more room and her neck angled to the side to keep the kiss, but she didn’t care. What was happening to her body overwhelmed her. One of the others grasped the front of her bra and pulled it down until her breasts popped free. She cried out into Pete as two mouths came down on her nipples, capturing the tips in a suction that drove her half wild. Her hips bucked as lightning shot to her core. Her back bowed for more of the tongues and teeth against the sensitive peaks. She knew by the time the men moved to her pussy, her panties would be soaked from all the illicit pleasure shooting through her.

How had she ever thought one man was enough? There was nothing like multiple hands and bodies and mouths on her.

Pete kissed her harder then suddenly, he was gone. With great effort, she opened her eyes and saw he’d stood. A couple feet away now, he jumped around as he tried to tug off his boots. She bit her lip to hold in another stupid giggle. Then giggling was the furthest thing from her mind. Pete pulled open his chambray shirt then yanked his T-shirt over his head. Both garments fell to the ground. Thick, smooth muscles beneath tanned skin gleamed in the firelight. Her mouth went dry at his rounded pecs, powerful arms and ripped belly. Her eyes dropped to his jutting hip bones and the fine trail of hair leading to his belt buckle, where his hands rested as if waiting her permission. She licked her bottom lip as she tried to breathe, and he seemed to take that as permission enough.

The other men sat back on their heels. They each left a wide hand on her belly as they regarded their teammate, and she wondered if they felt the jumping muscles beneath their palms. Mesmerized, she watched Pete open his buckle.

He worked it open with an agonizing laziness that had her pushing up on her elbows. She wanted to see what hid behind those Levis! But he seemed bent on prolonging her wait. A small smile curved his lips as he left the pants hanging open on his slim hips then bent to pull off his socks. He tossed them in the direction of his boots then straightened.

The denim hung low on his hips, showing the red, cotton fabric beneath—the tented red, cotton fabric. Shaking off the hands on her belly, Moon turned and went to
her knees. Reaching out she snagged a belt loop with her finger and tugged him closer.

“You’re a bad, bad man,” she told him.

“I thought we established that I’m very good. Very, very good.”

“That was me, friend,” Cord corrected.

Pete ignored him, not that Moon was really listening to their banter anyway. Now that she’d brought Pete this close to her, she could smell his musky, male scent. Heat emanated from him, and she halfway wondered if he wouldn’t burn her when she took him in her mouth—and she would take him between her lips.

Her fingers curled in his waistband, and she yanked it down, revealing his long, thick shaft. It curved toward his belly, the head almost as dark as his tanned skin. She supposed in normal light it would be less brown and more pink. A thick vein throbbed on the underside of the length while other nearly equal ridges spidered out from it. Her cunt clenched as she thought about that upraised skin wonderfully abrading the walls of her pussy. God, he’d feel so good inside her.

Pete’s hand curled around the base of his cock and stroked toward the head. Taunting her. Luring her. A droplet of pre-cum glistened at the head of his cock, and she flicked her tongue over her bottom lip, imaging the taste.

Why not taste it? she thought. There was a collective groan around her as she leaned forward and engulfed the tip of Pete’s cock with her mouth. Slowly, she eased forward as his hand cupped the back of her head. Her gaze rolled upward, and she saw his face contorted in pleasure as he watched her. In her peripheral vision, she saw glimpses of flesh and movement and realized the other two were stripping away their clothes. Soon, tanned skin filled all sides of her vision as the men flanked Pete.

Reaching up, she grabbed the cock to her right and slipped her mouth off Pete. “Be right back,” she said then glanced at the cowboy in her fist. Cord. She drew him close to her so she was somewhat boxed in on that side then licked a path up his long shaft. He and Pete were similar in size, lucky, lucky her, and she wondered how Sully would compare. But first, she sucked Cord deep. Her tongue flicked over his wide, flared head as she moved back then her teeth scraped lightly on the bottom edge of that crown.
