About the Author
Hi. I’m Jill Williamson, a chocolate loving, daydreaming, creator of kingdoms. Some people call me The Map Lady because I’m obsessed with drawing maps for my books. I write fantasy and science fiction for readers of all ages, though the young adult fantasy genre s my favorite. I love working with teens and giving writing workshops. I blog for teen writers at GoTeenWriters.com. I also post writing videos at StoryworldFirst.com.
I’m a Whovian, a Photoshop addict, and a recovering fashion design assistant. I’m also a Slytherin. There. I admitted it. *sigh* I’m not evil, I promise.
I grew up in Alaska without in a house without running water or electricity. That led to a love of reading, and in 2010 my first novel, By Darkness Hid, won several awards and was named a Best Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror novel of 2009 by VOYA magazine. I now lives in the Pacific Northwest with my husband and two children. We also have a donkey named Wilbur for a neighbor, and I adore him.
