Releasing the Wolf (The Rossi Pack Book 1) Page 26

by Aimie Jennison

After quietly slipping out of Tim’s house I get behind the wheel of his car and drive into Joondalup, Pulling up to the modern looking one story building, I park in the visitor’s section of the car park. I lock the car up and place the keys on the drivers side front wheel before making my way over to the doors of the building. Taking a deep breath I push my way through the doors knowing I have no other choice. Walking up to the receptionist’s desk, I watch as the lady finishes with a call before addressing me.

“Good morning. How can I help you?” she says flashing me a cheery smile.

I force the words out of my mouth before I can chicken out and leave. “Hi. My name is Rosa Rossi and I believe Sergeant Sanchez needs to speak to me.”

The second my name leaves my lips she picks up the phone and presses the number three. I can easily hear it ringing on the other end with my wolf’s hearing. “Ring…Ring…Ring…What is it, Claire?” Sergeant Sanchez snaps.

She eyes me up and down for a moment as if weighing up whether I’m going to make a run for it or not before looking at me, her head tilted to the side in curiosity as she speaks. “Rosa Rossi is at the desk, Sir.”

  To be continued…

Keep reading to see Joey’s letter mentioned in Chapter Twenty-Two.

  Hey Frank,

You know how useless I am at speaking about feelings, I am a guy after all. But I feel the need to tell you somehow, I can’t stand to see the hurt and worry in your face every time you look at me. So here I am writing my you a letter.

Every time you look at me, I can see those question’s bouncing around in that brain of yours.

IS OUR FRIENDSHIP ALL A LIE?

WAS HE ONLY MY FRIEND BECAUSE OF JESSE’S ORDER?

I need you to know it wasn’t a lie. Yes, He ordered me to go to your Gram, ask for a job and befriend the girl called ‘Rosa’.

But the thing is, I never met that girl. I met a beautiful, quiet girl called ‘Frankie’. She is the girl that became my best friend.

That first time we met, I knew I’d found that last puzzle piece that was missing from the puzzle that was my soul. You were it Frank. You was that missing puzzle piece. So please don’t ever doubt our friendship. If that doubt does get ahold of you and starts bouncing around your head like a pogo stick. Remember that puzzle piece.

  I love you Frank.

  Always your best bud,

  Jo xx
