Indebted: 'Til Death Do Us Part (Teal & Trent Book 3) Page 9

by Inger Iversen

Before pulling off, he picked up his phone and sent a text to Karen.

  Trent: Okay, I’m in 100%

Trent pulled up to the bar and parked the SUV as close to the building as he could. People had already started to arrive, since he and Teal had gotten such a late start, but that was no matter. The rain had stopped falling, doing much to cool off the oppressive heat.

Making his way around the SUV, Trent opened the door for Teal. She emerged with one glorious, thick chocolate leg after the other, to stand before him. Trent had never been a shoe man, but Teal had these high black pumps with blood red bottoms that gave him a hard on every time she wore them. And from the smirk on her face, Teal knew exactly what she did to him.

Trent pushed Teal’s body back against the open door. “When we get home, I want you naked, except for those fucking shoes.” Her husky chuckled sent a zing of lust up his spine and he fought with the urge to turn her over and thrust so deep in her, she’d feel him for days. “And then I want to put my cock between those heels and fuck them until I coat them with my come.”

He accentuated his words with a hard thrust that sent Teal toppling back. Catching her with a strong grip, Trent pulled her forward and looked into her coffee brown eyes. The lust and desire he saw there set his body aflame.

“Say, ‘yes, sir.’” He prayed she’d deny him this demand. Because if she even thought of saying no, Trent was going to—

“Yes, sir.” The soft words were like a balm, soothing his desire just enough to get his shit under control and pull away from her.

Inside the bar, Trent took in Teal’s handiwork. It’d been sectioned off into three different themes. Walking in, the first theme was a throwback to the eighties. A brightly lit neon Pac-Man sat on the wall, blinking and giving the illusion that Pac-Man was chasing the blue, pink, and red ghost cups filled with neon colored cassette tapes.

Trent chuckled when he walked past the bar seats in the shape of stacked Rubik’s Cubes. Teal took Trent’s hand in hers and led him behind the bar to meet up with Violet.

“Glad you made it.” Violet hugged Teal, then Trent. The music pumped and changed to Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean.”

Teal did a little shimmy against Trent, before turning to him and placing a kiss on his cheek. “You should go find Poe,” she yelled over the music. “Violet and I need to catch up, and I want to make sure everything is looking good before I have myself a drink.”

Trent leaned down and kissed her, before patting her butt and sending her off to Violet. He then made his way from behind the counter and grabbed a beer as he made his way past the people on the floor. He recognized a few of them, and if any of them were like Violet had been, they were no doubt wondering why the hell he was here, and with Teal at that.

Taking in the crowd, he looked for the men they’d hired as security. The men were either in plain clothes, uniforms he hadn’t recognized, or they hadn’t shown up yet. There was not one cut, or tattooed MC member in sight.

A heavy hand landed on his shoulder and Trent whirled around.

Abel stood with a beer in one hand, and his arm draped over Hope’s shoulder. “Whoa, boss. Jumpy tonight?” His eyes narrowed as he curiously took him in.

Trent chuckled. “All the people and shit.”

Abel gave him a knowing frown. “Yeah, that shit will fuck you up.”

Trent hadn’t meant to use his hatred of crowds as an excuse, but he wasn’t interested in ruining Abel’s night by telling him about his concerns. Changing the topic, he turned to Abel’s woman. “How’s the clinic treating you? Still working those twelve-hour days?”

She gave Abel an admonishing glare. “Not sure what he is telling you, but I love working there. It’s nice bringing life back into a dying town.” Hope pushed her glossy black hair over her shoulder as she leaned into Abel. “This party sure is something else.” She looked around with a huge smile on her face. “Your wife and her friend really went all out. Thank you for inviting us.”

“No problem.” Teal had asked him for his invite list more than twenty times.

“Well, well, well . . .” Poe’s slurred voice met Trent’s ears, just as the man ambled over to them. “Thank fuck you came. I can’t drink all this liquor on my own.”

With that, Trent remembered the beer in his hand and took a good long swig. They all made their way over to the VIP table and sat. An hour later, Teal sauntered over with a neon drink in hand, then placed her plump ass right on his lap.

“So,” Hope leaned forward to get Poe’s attention. “How old are you turning today?”

“Old as fuck,” Trent said around his fourth beer of the night.

Poe gave a belly laugh that roared over the loud, bassy music. “Just about as old as this crusty old fuck.” He pointed to Trent, who cocked a brow.

With three more gulps, Trent finished his beer and waved a hand up for another.

“So, you turning what?” Hope placed a finger to her chin, feigning thought. “Twenty-one?” She smiled as Poe placed a hand over his heart.

“Abel, hold on to that beautiful creature,” he said in a drunken tone.

Abel pulled her close and kissed the side of her head. “I think I will.”

Trent wrapped his arms around Teal, pulling her into his warm embrace. He was amazed at how finding the right woman in your life was tantamount to finding peace, or weathering a great storm.

His phone vibrated in his pocket. Gripping Teal close, he leaned forward and yanked the thing from his pocket. By now, several beers later, Trent was buzzing, so when he read the text, he couldn’t keep the grin from his face. Teal’s hand reached out and tilted the screen before Trent could stop her. His sluggish movements had him pulling the phone back too late.

Teal jumped from Trent’s lap and turned to face him. “What is that about?” Her tone held no trace of anger, just sheer curiosity.

Trent sighed and glanced at the screen again.

Karen: It’s official! It’s time to tell your wife.

Had any other woman from his past read that text message, Trent would have had to crawl on his hands and knees through broken glass to prove the text was not from another woman he’d been fucking. While Teal didn’t look pleased, she also didn’t seem worried in the least. And her trust in him ignited a flame in his chest that spread to his groin. Fueled by the beer he’d poured down his gullet, Trent stood and took Teal’s hands in his.

Ignoring the glances from their friends behind them, Trent tugged until Teal was in step behind him.

Trent pulled Teal into Poe’s back office and closed the door behind them—and locked it. Turning, He stalked towards Teal, watching as her eyes shot wide and her breath hitched. He walked her backward until her plush ass hit Poe’s desk. Her lush lips parted on a sigh when he pushed his arousal into her. Her pupils dilated as she watched him unbutton her silk blouse.

“I got a surprise for you,” Trent said.

She peeked down at his hardening cock, and her pink tongue darted out in a delicate swipe over her lips.

He chuckled low and deep. “Not that, baby.”

Her eyes met his, and disappointment flared in their dark depths. Pulling the emerald silk off her shoulders he soothed her concern by leaning in and taking a hardened bud between his lips. He sucked her nipple through the lacy fabric, nipping and nibbling until Teal squirmed beneath him. Placing his hands under her arms he lifted her and placed her on top of the desk.

“Baby?” Her breathy moan cut off her words as Trent started pushing her dress up her thick thighs. “Who is Karen and what is official?” she asked as she spread her legs for him.

Falling to a knee, Trent gazed up at the spread before him. Legs wide, hips undulating in need, her clit peeked out, demanding its due. Trent traced his eyes over her slightly rounded stomach, past the light stretchmarks she hated so much, and up to her dark berry tipped breasts. Damn, this woman incited lust in him with every passing glance or touch.

  He looked into
her eyes. “Do you trust me?”

It took her a moment to pull herself from her lust-filled trance. Her eyes narrowed in concentration as she spoke. “Always.”

“She is helping me with your gift, it is also for Emma.” Teal’s gaze sharpened as he continued. “I can’t tell you about it yet, but to make up for that . . .” Trent ducked his head between her legs and kissed her core.

Teal spread wider for him, her ass hung half on and half off the table. Her moan lit the room in sound, and Trent buried his head between her legs. The first swipe of his tongue brought Teal’s hips off the table and Trent grinned into her core.

Sharp nails raked over his scalp causing his cock to kick in his pants.

“I can’t wait, baby. I need you in me now.”

Pulling away with a curse, he stood. After hearing her plea, if he stayed between her legs a second longer, Trent would come in his pants.

Teal leaned up and helped him with his pants. She held his cock in her hands and guided it between them. He held on to one thigh as the tip of his cock met her slick wet heat. He groaned and pressed forward.

Teal’s back arched off the desk as she took him deep. Giving her no time to recover, Trent fucked her hard and fast. He sensed her orgasm building as she tightened around him. She was almost there, just a few more strokes and she would come all over him.

He pulled from her and yanked her off the desk. Hands encircling her waist, he flipped her over. Teal’s ass pointed high in the air, begging to be taken; her legs trembled with need. Trent placed a hand between her shoulders and pressed down, until her upper body laid flat on the desk. Taking a small step back, he looked at Teal’s pleasure-coated core, her trembling thighs, and the globes of her ass, soft and round.

Teal lifted and glanced behind her, no doubt wondering why he hadn’t filled her. After all, this was his favorite position. He loved how he was in command of the depths his cock delved, the control he had over her pleasure and his ability to softly caress the one part of her body she hadn’t let him own—yet.

He stepped forward, gripped his cock in one hand, and a fistful of her hair in the other. When their eyes met, her dark gaze conveyed her trust in him, and her desire to be claimed by him. Teal wasn’t an easy woman to tame, but as Trent pushed her head down to the desk and claimed her with one sharp deep thrust, she let out a muffled scream. The sound so familiar, so engrained in his brain, he knew what it meant.

That one sound told him she was experiencing pleasure so sharp it bordered on pain. His thrust went so deep, he would soon become a part of her, melding again with her body and soul. And this was the difference between Teal and every other woman he’d fucked. When this was over and he and Teal headed back to wherever the night took them, he and his wife would hold a piece of one another so deep inside of them that their very souls would claim it as its own.

Trent had never experienced sex this intense in his life. He’d never needed to connect on not just a physical level, but also an emotional level with a woman in his life. As he thrust deep inside, he closed his eyes and thought back to the first time he’d slept with her in the cabin.

He’d been such a fucking liar back then. He’d said that fucking her was happening solely based on their mutual needs. But as Teal thrust back and bucked helplessly beneath him, Trent had known there would never be another time in which he’d given himself to another woman so fully.

Teal lifted her ass as best she could, taking his thrusts deeper with each stroke. “I need to come, Trent. Please.”

So did he. And his orgasm was fast approaching. Reaching between her thighs, he searched for and found her hardened clit and squeezed the slick bud between his fingers. Teal’s core contracted hard around him, pulling him closer to the edge.

He watched as his wet cock entered and left her body, the way the force of his thrust jiggled her ass, and how each squeeze of her clit made her body shake. Suddenly, Teal’s body pulled taut, and Trent felt as her orgasm washed over him, drenching his length and her inner thighs. Her core sucked him in deeper as she came, giving him no choice but to spill deep inside of her.

Trent hollered, the sound tore through his throat and reverberated around the room until he was out of breath. He gripped the desk as the intensity ebbed and his body felt sated.

Opening his eyes, he saw that Teal was watching him. He pushed his hair back from his sweaty face. “What, baby?”

“You are so fucking beautiful,” she intoned. The lust melted from her voice, leaving behind reverence.

Trent reached down and caressed her face. No one had ever called him beautiful. His nose had been broken once before, his face held stress lines around his lips, and he was sure some wrinkles had made a home at the edges of his eyes. He’d gotten compliments on his hair and cock, but never on his beauty.

“Nah.” He felt as his face grew red in embarrassment. He’d remember the moment Teal had turned him into a blushing fool for the rest of his life. He pulled out of her and she turned over, righting herself.

“I have never in my life seen someone like you, and watching you come apart just now . . .” She pushed up to her tiptoes and kissed him. His head swam and his world tilted on its axis.

The second Teal and Trent left the back room, Trent sensed something terribly wrong. More partygoers had shown up packing the place to the brim, but now Trent caught the unforgettable scent of leather and cigarette smoke. Pulling Teal close, he glanced around the room, in search of the man who’d surely fuck up the peace he’d created.

Trent had heard that Ace was killed in some fire fight over in Treville—where rival MCs had fought to expand territories. In hearing that, Trent believed he was free, but the feeling of dread that crept up his spine conveyed something different.

“Hey, I’m going to the bar to make sure everything is stocked,” Teal said. She pushed up on tiptoes and planted a kiss on his neck. Then she was gone.

Trent barely had time to absorb the kiss, when he saw him. A face he’d never forget—the man who’d shot him all those years ago.

Mutt prowled through the crowd, his eyes lasered in on Trent. The russet-colored man didn’t need to push his way through the crowd, because people parted for him like the Red Sea did for Moses. Mutt’s dark aura cast out from him and into the crowd, a get the fuck out of my way or I’ll cause you pain aura emitted from him, affecting people even if just unconsciously.

Men pulled their women closer, into the protection of their arms, while women took a step toward the danger. Perhaps they sensed his fierce need to protect whatever woman he was fucking at the moment, but maybe they were intrigued with the killer in him. Who knew. Women were odd creatures.

Either way, Trent stood taller, and met the man’s stare with an iron glare of his own. Only, he didn’t feel as strong as the image he exuded. Just like in the past, Trent had liabilities.

As the crowd parted, Mutt shot straight to Trent like a fucking arrow from its bow. And when he arrived, he sat at the bar and ordered a drink. His voice, like his presence, was an unwelcome blast from the past.

“Something brown and strong.” Mutt’s words were a demand, not a drink order. One of the bartenders stuttered over menu items, but Trent shooed him away and took the man’s place.

Trent turned and pulled a bottle of whiskey from the shelf. “You even want a glass?”

Mutt gave a dark chuckle. “Of course, Marine.”

Trent turned, placing down the shot glass and poured. A woman in an itty-bitty top and skin-tight jeans sauntered up to the bar, taking up residence beside Mutt. Leaning forward, putting her breasts on display, she pointed to the sign neatly scrawled on the menu board.

  “Can I get a . . .” Tapping a red-tipped nail against her chin, she feigned thought.

Trent took a deep breath, waiting for the woman to make up her mind. He hoped she’d pick something easy because he sure as shit didn’t know how to make much.

Mutt studiously ignored the woman’s lusty gazes.

&
nbsp; “Hmmm, I’ll get a triple shocker,” she finally ordered.

“What the fuck is that?” Trent turned to the board, reading the words, hoping it’d offer some clue as to what was in the drink.

“I got it.” The bartender who’d earlier been glad Trent had taken his place made his way over with Bacardi Mango Rum in his hand.

Mutt’s word drew Trent’s attention back to him. “One for the road?” He tipped his glass to Trent, who poured him another. Mutt took the shot, then stood. A bit of relief flooded Trent as Mutt turned to leave. That was, until he spoke over his shoulder. “Walk me out. I don’t like discussing club business around civilians.”

Trent bit back a curse. “Give me ten,” he ground out.

Mutt turned back to meet his eyes. “Do not make me wait.” He made his way back through the crowd and once again, it parted for him.

“Fuck,” Trent muttered. Glancing around the bar, Trent searched for Teal. He wasn’t about to head out without letting her know he had business to handle. His stomach dropped, maybe Ace was dead, but it seemed Mutt was alive and kicking. And his past had again come calling.

When he found her on the dance floor with a sloppy, drunk Poe, Trent made his way to her. The look on his face must have reached her before he did because Teal gently pulled away from Poe and hurried over to him.

“What happened? Is everything okay?” Her hands roved over him in a comforting manner. Her dark eyes imploring him to let her make everything better.

Trent thought to lie, but what if something actually happened tonight? He couldn’t leave her here, wondering why. But he also didn’t want to take her out there with him. And then again, maybe he was worried about nothing. If Ace was dead, Mutt might just be here to relieve Trent from his debt to the MC. Even as he thought it, Trent knew it wasn’t the truth.

“I need to head out for a bit, I’ll be just right out back.” When her eyes narrowed, Trent added, “Gotta talk business with an old friend of mine.” The tension in his shoulders must have told her what he wasn’t saying.
