“We’re still on this?” Fred sighed. “Ivana, honey, please I don’t know how much you’ll gain but I’ll still love you. Now will you please drop it, I’m really tired talking about this.”
Ivana knew the discussion was over, she had learned that about him already. A few times in the past she had tried to push past this point, but he would never budge. Now she simply would just quit and go onto something else.
That something else was the little voice that kept telling her he was lying. Telling her to watch his reactions over the months to see how he looked at her. If he still had sex with her as much, all those things would change. At least the voice in her head was telling her that.
Chapter 44
“Good news, I don’t have to go into work today. But I will have to go tomorrow. I got out of the meetings, but I really have to go tomorrow. You don’t mind do you?” Fred asked her one night.
“Well I’ve had you to myself for several months now. I guess I can’t be too picky. Will you have to be gone all day though?” Ivana asked him.
Fred patted her belly that was getting a bit bigger now. “No I may not have to be. Hard to believe you’re already 7 1/2 months along isn’t it!” Fred commented.
“Oh did you feel him kick?” Ivana asked.
Fred smiled. “Yeah I just felt it. But why did you say him? You didn’t get an ultrasound behind my back did you? We wanted to wait to see at birth!”
“Well really it is just a feeling I have.” Ivana answered.
Fred leaned down and kissed her stomach. Then stood up and kissed her forehead. “I’m sorry I couldn’t get tomorrow off too. I know I’m the owner and it would seem like I would never have to go in. But with Tommy being in and out so much, it’s hard. I have to make sure we have enough money to bring out little bruiser up!”
“Oh so you think we’re having a boy too?” Ivana asked.
“I don’t know, but you seem so sure!” Fred stated.
“Soon we’ll see for sure!” Ivana said.
“Since I have the day off you wanted to go upstairs!” He asked.
Ivana smiled and stood up and headed up the stairs. “I thought you’d never ask.” She smiled.
“Man I have to go to work to recuperate! You’re a little minx!” Fred laughed.
She got upstairs and undressed; she was looking in the mirror at her body. “I’m getting so big.” She commented.
“Yeah I can’t believe how quickly you ballooned up overnight.” Fred said. “But you’re still beautiful he added.”
Ivana looked at him for a moment, but soon forgot she was upset as Fred kissed and touched her body. He knew the right spots to touch and soon she was ready to go. Fred moved into her and slowly loved her. Working his hands around her breasts and on her clit, soon he heard her moans as she climaxed.
She enjoyed these days. Ivana had him for so long to herself; she wasn’t sure how happy she was about his work the next day. But for now she just closed her mind and enjoyed the pleasure he brought to her.

“You can count on that!” Fred said as he pushed one more time into her and climaxed.
They slept like that for hours. His arms were wrapped around her and her cuddled back into the warmth of his body. Ivana let her mind slip down lower.
Chapter 45
“So is it just today you’ll have to go in?” Ivana asked him the next morning. She watched as he dressed in a suit and tie. “You look so handsome!” She commented.
“Yes. It will be the only day for a bit.” Fred stated.
“Oh good, that means I get you all to myself again!” She pounced on him. As much as a 7 1/2 month pregnant women could. Ivana laughed figuring it must look funny.
“Easy, I’m already dressed for work!” He stated.
“You can get dressed again.” She purred.
Fred took off his tie he knew with that look in her eyes, he would never say no. A little later, he was rushing around the room.
“Ivana you little temptress, must you make me so late!” He laughed.
Ivana simply laughed as she sat on the edge of the bed. “I couldn’t help it, that shirt and tie just really turned me on!” She giggled. “So how long will you be gone?” She asked.
“I don’t know I’ll be as quick as I can okay?” He looked at her.
Ivana pouted up at him.
“No, you won’t get me this time. I have to go or the day will be over!” He kissed her quickly and ran out the door.
Shaking his head along the way he figured she would be the death of him. “That woman always wants sex. Not that I’m complaining mind you. But good thing I have a lot of money, cause she isn’t going to let me work much!” Fred said to himself as he walked out the door.
He was running really late, so he drove as quickly as he could get away with. “Briana I’m sorry tell them I’ll be about 30 minutes.” Fred said into the phone.
“I’ll tell them.” She said.
Fred heard something in her voice. “What’s the matter Briana, do you have something to say?” Fred asked.
He heard her sigh and then she said. “Well it’s just since you got married you seem to put off a lot of things.”
He wasn’t sure what to say. He was a little mad about the comment that seemed too personal. But he had hired Briana around 20 years ago. They’d been together about the whole time he’d been in charge of the company.
“I’ll try to get better at that. I promise after the meeting we’ll talk.” Fred stated.
Chapter 46
As Ivana watch him leave she got sad. The house felt lonely without him. “We’ll after you come it won’t be so lonely, even when he has to go!” She said as she patted her belly.
For months Fred and she had been discussing names for the baby. They had two for each sex. They couldn’t choose between them. He wanted to name a girl Amanda after his mother; if it was a boy he liked the name Nicolas. But Ivana would like to name a girl Larisa and a boy Fred Jr., they would most likely use the names in a combination. But they didn’t know what would be the babies first and middle name.
“Well little Frederick Nicolas, it looks like it is just you and me for a bit today!” Ivana laughed.
She took a long hot bath and read a book she’d been dying to get into since she’d been in the states. “Wow a full 8 months now and I haven’t got a chance until now to read!” It had one of her favorite hobbies in Russia.
Hoping the day would go by quicker and that he would simply be gone a few hours. She hoped that once she was done out of the tub, he would call and tell her he was on his way home.
But the hours went past and as she looked at the clock wondering where he was, she began to wonder. She knew that nothing had changed between them. So that little nagging fear of him not thinking she was attractive had been under control.
“Are you sure he’s just not avoiding you now?” The voice called out.
She knew it was wrong. He had made love to her every single night and day since they’d been together. They hadn’t slowed down one bit since she had found out she was pregnant either. So she simply shook her head getting the thought to leave.
“Little Frederick we are going to take a nap, I hope you don’t mind, but mommy is really tired.” She said as she got on the bed. “He’ll wake you up when he gets home.” She thought before she closed her eyes.
In her dreams the fear tried to come back. But she was stronger now than she had been before. There was nothing to indicate this fear was valid. Ivana could fight it as long as there was no proof that it was right.
“But he’s not home and he said it would only be a couple of hours.” The voice explained to her. In her dreams it was a detached voice that she could never see the speaker of.
“So what he hasn’t been at work for almost the last 3 months.” She said to the voice.
“He’s done business on the phone here and there too. Does he really need this much time to d
o this stuff today?” The voice asked.
“I don’t know what he’s doing. He’s going to be home soon and wake me up, just you wait and see.” Ivana stated.
She heard the voice laugh, but it didn’t say another word.
Chapter 47
“Alright sorry this meeting was delayed. I was running late.” Fred went into the conference room.
He sat down, the whole while his mind was on Ivana and what he could be doing. But then he would hear Briana’s voice, “you’ve been letting things slip.”
A few times during the meeting they asked him point blank questions that he didn’t know the answer for. “I’m sorry I’ll have to find out for you. I’ve been out of the office for a bit.”
“Is that going to change?” One of the men in the meeting asked.
“I’ll try and spend a bit more time here. I have a baby on the way though and a new wife. So you know what it’s like!” Fred commented.
The man simply looked at him, not agreeing. Fred shrugged his shoulders. The meeting finally broke up two hours later and he was getting ready to head out the door.
“Mr. Powers you told me we could talk after the meeting?” Briana reminded him.
“Right I had forgotten.” Fred stated. He had honestly put it out of his mind, trying to focus on the meeting. “Come in and let’s talk.” Fred went to his office, and closed the door behind Briana as she came in.
“Well I think you need to be in more. I have too many problems that come up that are simply too difficult to deal with for the managers. We’ve had to make some serious choices and I don’t think this is right. You see these choices have to do with a lot of money at times. If they mess up you’ll gladly get rid of them. But the fact is that it should have been you who was here in the first place.” Briana ranted.
“What decisions? Did you try to reach me before they were made? How much was lost?” Fred asked the question in quick succession.
Briana looked down at her paper. “The decision on the purchase of the plant in Salt Lake City, someone had to make it. You delayed it by two weeks and by the time we got around to finally making the choice the plant was gone.”
“Okay so where is the money we lost?” Fred asked.
“I was getting to that. With the new devices that were to be shipped to Salt Lake we had to get a storage facility. This was because you weren’t here to say it was okay. Remember you made these checks and balances so that no one had the control but you.” Briana stated as she saw Fred getting upset.
“How much money was it Briana?” He asked.
“5.5 million, they said the product was dangerous and had to charge a hazardous containment fee.” Briana stated.
“Alright, I’ll fix this. Get me the numbers I need. Get me Tommy on the phone tell him this is important, not delay.” Fred commanded.
“Hey honey, I’m going to be longer than I thought.” Fred called Ivana and told her.
“But it’s been almost 6 hours now.” She whined
“It was only a few! I’ll be home as soon as I can. Really I’m sorry.” Fred stated. He hung up he had to get his mind back on business.
Not that a 5.5 million loss was huge, but he could afford too many mistakes like this. For one thing those devices were not hazardous. Whoever had let the storage people talk them into the extra charge should be fired.
But then he realized he had been controlling the business as a one man army for too long. If he wanted to spend more time with Ivana he would have to let go of some of the responsibility.
It was going to be tough, and might take a bit, but these decisions needed to be made. He loosened his tie and got set for a long night of thinking and making the choices he should have before Ivana and he married.
Chapter 48
Ivana hung up the phone. She was depressed. He was going to be longer. Yes the afternoon had gone incredibly slow and what were only a couple hours seemed like days to her. It wouldn’t be so bad if Trina was around.
But she often was out, with Tommy or who knew who. It had been months since Ivana had a good chat with Trina. “Maybe I’ll go see if she’s home.” Ivana took off to the room that Fred had designed for Trina. It had no sharp edges where she could accidentally injure herself. She thought again about sweet her husband was.
‘You mean the one that is still working and doesn’t know when he’ll be home?’ Fear stated to her.
She ignored it when she found Trina. “Oh I’ve missed you so much!’ She said.
Ivana watched as Trina smiled. “Hey stranger, it has been a long time!” Trina laughed. “Let me feel the belly to see how big it is now!”
She walked over and let Trina touch her belly. “Oh he’s gotten so big!” Trina smiled
“You said he too! Ivana commented.
“He feels like a boy to me when he kicks!” She said.
Ivana laughed. She didn’t know a boy could kick differently. But since they had first found out she was pregnant she always thought it was a little boy. When she would dream at night she would dream of a baby boy.
“I’ve thought he was a boy from the first moment!” Ivana told Trina.
“You really have gotten a lot bigger since the last time you came to visit.”
“Well you know you always seem to be gone! Speaking of that, how is Tommy doing?” Ivana asked.
She saw Trina’s face light up at the mention of Tommy. “He’s doing wonderful!” She had a smile on her face.
“Good, I’m glad you two seem to be doing really good.” Ivana stated.
“Maybe we’ll get married one day!” Trina said.
“I thought there a while back you had gotten married. Neither Fred or I had seen or heard from either of you.” Ivana admitted.
“No we were just doing those things that needed to be done.” Trina stated.
Ivana still wondered what had happened. Trina never did really explain why they were gone for such a long time. When she asked Fred about it, he said Tommy didn’t really say anything about it.
She knew sometimes she was too curious for her own good. But she had always been that way. Especially when it came to what Trina had been doing. For so long they had been so close, but now it seemed like they had drifted apart.
“Trina I was wondering if you would be the godmother of Frederick Nicholas Powers when he’s born?” Ivana asked.
“Oh I love the name. Is that what you decided on?” Trina asked.
“Well no, Fred still hasn’t agreed to the first name but he will!” Ivana laughed.
Trina blushed as she got the idea of what Ivana had meant.
“So where is Fred at?” Trina asked.
“He had to go for some meeting. Then he said he would be late getting home from work.” Ivana stated.
“You sound upset?” Trina asked.
“Well it is the first time we have been apart in some time. Plus he called and said he wasn’t sure how late he would be. Do you think he’s turned off by how fat I’ve gotten? Ivana asked Trina.
“How did you go from he’s working late to, he thinks you’re too fat?” Trina said.
“I don’t know just a feeling I’ve been having off and on.” Ivana admitted.
“If I could actually see I think I would witness him staring at you at all times. The man loves you; I can hear it in his voice!” Trina stated.
Ivana smiled hoping that Trina was right. She sat for a little longer and chatted about nothing in particular.
“You know what I’m getting a little hungry. Do you want anything to eat?” Ivana asked Trina.
“Sure, sounds like a good way to pass the time!” Trina stated.
They went off to the kitchen. Ivana decided to make them something to eat. It would take her mind off of the minutes that continued to tick by, with no sign of Fred. She was beginning to seethe inside.
Chapter 49
Fred hadn’t been watching the time, so when he looked at his watch and saw it was almost 9 pm; he knew Ivana would be mad at him. Not tha
t he could blame her. When he had left he had thought he would be gone for just a few hours. Now almost 12 hours later, here he was still sitting in his office.
“Shit I have to go. Tommy can you come over tomorrow and we finish this restructuring?” Fred asked Tommy. “By the way why didn’t you let me know it was so damn late?” He added as an afterthought.
“Honestly man I didn’t notice the time. You have these shades here that block out the outside world! As far as coming over, yeah I can do that.” Tommy said.
“What the hell can I do for Ivana; she’s going to want to kill me? You know this whole pregnancy mood swings and all that!” Fred shook his head.
“Personally, I would not go home if I were you!” Tommy laughed.
“Ha-ha, very funny, how am I supposed to do that? She would really have me killed if I did that!” Fred commented.
“I don’t know I guess you’ll have to face the circumstances when you get home. Good luck with that. On a side note my girl may be mad at me too, she was waiting to go anywhere today.” Tommy stated.
“So how are you two doing?” Fred asked.
“Man I have to tell you I really love her. Explaining the things I see to her and watching her face light up is just something else.” Tommy said.
“So you think you two may get married?”
“I’m seriously thinking about it.” Tommy admitted.
“Good I know Ivana and I would be happy to come to the wedding! Well I have to go, and try to calm my wife down.” Fred stated.
As he walked to the car he wondered just how mad she was. He had expected her to call or message him as the time got later. But instead he saw nothing from her. That was either a sign of her being furious, or maybe she would understand his lateness. Fred wasn’t betting on the second option at all.
He drove carefully home. He wouldn’t lie to her; he tried to never do that. But he would hope that she would listen and be understanding about it.
Pulling up in the driveway he saw the bedroom light was off. Maybe she was downstairs or even sleeping. “Hm maybe I can wake her with a little love making and that will help out?” Fred thought as he got out of the car and went inside.
