With ferocity, he pulled off her shirt. Returning to their kiss, he reached behind her and unlatched her bra. Freeing her breasts, he let go of her head and moved his lips to the pink of her areolas. His warm, wet tongue lapped at her naked flesh. Her head fell back in pleasure. If this had been someone else, she would have thrown him down and ridden him like a stallion. But it was Dax, so instead, she resisted.
Dax moved his hand down her soft curves slipping his fingertips into the band of her panties. He softly massaged her flesh. With each movement, he squeezed harder and harder until, to her surprise, he had lifted her up and slipped her underwear off.
She now sat on the bed naked and vulnerable to anything he wanted to do. Still sucking and squeezing her breasts, Dax bent his body, trying to move his clothed cock against her engorged lips.
Saki flinched when he bit her nipple. He was getting rougher. Under his breathy panting, she heard him growl. Her heart raced and her mouth opened as she struggled to breathe. Just when she was sure she would let him do whatever he wanted, he withdrew, standing before her near the foot of the bed.
Dax looked down at her like he would his boat or car; he owned her. His chest heaved violently, and the look on his face was more malevolent than she had ever seen. Ripping off his shirt, he stared at her again. She couldn’t move from his gaze. He unbuttoned his pants and let them fall. He slid down his underwear, releasing his large, hard cock.
It stood erect before her, twitching. She tried to stop herself, but she could feel her legs slowly moving apart, inviting him in. Just as she thought he would step forward and take her, his body changed, morphing into the wolf.
Saki froze. The wolf snarled. She realized what he wanted her for. He didn’t just want a lover for him, she was for the wolf as well. She would be lover to a beast.
Saki took a heavy breath in, then out. The wolf slowly climbed onto the bed above her, and she breathed in and out. Looking down the body of the beast, she saw its thing hanging between his legs. It was hard and pink. It twitched, ready to take her. No, she thought.
“No,” she said, finding her voice. “No,” she commanded, more forcefully. But still the wolf came. Still the wolf snarled and snapped, sending her heart into a drumroll.
“No,” she said again, not backing down. The feelings of anger and betrayal flashed through her like boiling lava, erupting in something she’d only felt twice before. She was losing control. She shouted again, “No!”
Something was happening to her. Her body hurt. Her thunderous heartbeats made her chest feel like it would explode. Like it had twice before, her skin felt like it was on fire.
Through the haze, she could see that the wolf was slowly backing off. It had a look on its face of confusion, and slowly, it stepped off the bed. Saki, seeing the change, felt her breath return. The boiling stopped. The itching stopped. Dax, the human version of him, slowly rose from the ground.
Saki stared into his eyes. Shock was painted across his face, and she didn’t know why. Speechless, he stepped backwards until finally he leaned down, picked up his clothes and backed out of the room.
Saki slowly regained her bearing. She wasn’t sure what had just happened. Looking down at herself it seemed that nothing had changed.
However, moving her hand she felt something unusual. Looking over she found rips in the new sheets. She searched her mind, trying to figure out what had done it. The wolf’s paws hadn’t made it to her hands, so it couldn’t have been him. When nothing else seemed to explain it, she lifted her right hand in front of her. Nothing was different about it. The scratches simply had no explanation.
She really didn’t care about figuring it out. She cared about the fact that Dax‘s wolf had backed off. She was willing to accept becoming Dax‘s lover. She had prepared herself for that. But her human form would not become the vessel for his wolf. She couldn’t let that happen.
With a life sentence on this island, however, she wasn’t sure how she could stop it. Searching for her clothes, she put them back on and pulled the ripped sheets tightly over her. She didn’t know what to do, but she had to do something. Falling asleep, she imagined what would happen between them once both were wolves.
Chapter 11
Saki woke up with one thing on her mind: she would turn today. Opening her eyes, it took her a moment to remember where she was. The honey-colored box was unfamiliar, but when the gentle sound of crashing waves entered her consciousness, she knew exactly where she was.
She wanted to hide out in the bedroom all day, but nature called. Slipping back into her jean shorts, she opened the front door, letting in the morning’s sights and sounds.
It still had to be very early, so she imagined that she and Dax were the only ones there. The long shadows made her think it was 6 or 7 am. But whatever time it was, the cool sea breeze told her that she wasn’t on Nassau anymore.
Crossing through the empty dining space, she entered the path toward the concrete structure. Looking again for a working toilet, she didn’t find one. Grabbing a roll of toilet paper, she took off towards the bush. Finding a space hidden from view, she squatted and did what she had to do.
Returning to the outdoor kitchen, she again opened up the coolers and cabinets. They held enough eggs and milk to make breakfast. Looking up, she saw Dax walking toward her. She looked back down, not knowing how to respond. But knowing that she was now his captive, she spoke.
“Would you like me to make you some eggs?” She asked as if they were friends on a camping trip.
“Sure,” he replied as if nothing had happened the night before.
“One egg or two?”
“Two,” he said, sitting at the picnic table closest to the grill.
“Scrambled?”
“Yeah.”
Saki made breakfast in silence. When it was done, she retrieved two paper plates and dished it out. Grabbing utensils, she handed Dax one of the plates and sat across from him.
Both ate without saying a word. When Dax was done, he got up, leaving the plate on the table.
“Is there anywhere around here to take a shower?” Saki asked, turning Dax around.
“The shower stall at the end works. The waters cold, but it works,” he said before returning to his room.
Saki watched him go. She still wasn’t sure why he had backed off of her the night before, but it was still affecting him. She couldn’t imagine what it was or what had caused the rips in the sheets. Dax must have seen something, but what?
Saki took her time preparing for her shower. She dug through her bag, refusing to take anything out. After finding clean underwear, she looked around for a towel. She couldn’t see one, so she decided to use the clothes she wore to dry off. She couldn’t find any soap, either, so she gave up and headed to the shower.
The shower stall at the end did work. It splashed cold water over her, but at least it was fresh water. With no shower curtain to prevent the water from spraying out, she looked around for a dry place to set her clothes. The stalls were separated by concrete blocks, so she hung her clothes on the knobs of the adjacent stalls.
The cold morning water sent her heart racing. Initially, it took her breath away. She was definitely awake now. With no other choice, she felt ready to confront whatever came.
Still in the shower, she heard someone enter the bathroom. It had to be Dax. What was his plan now? Was this going to be the spot of his first conquest?
“Dax?” a voice said, stepping into view.
Saki turned her head, allowing the visitor a full view of her rounded backside. It was Gully. He stood frozen, his mouth partially open, staring at her. Saki exchanged glances with him. She wasn’t angry, more curious to know what he would do next. She often wondered if he liked her. It was probably his duty to make her feel comfortable in the pack, but that didn’t account for everything he had done.
“Sorry, I was looking for Dax,” he said, allowing his eyes to roam over her.
“Well, he’s not here,” she replied, st
ill wondering what he would do next.
Both continued to stare at each other. It was clear that he didn’t want to move. She wondered what it would be like if he undressed and joined her. She wondered if Gully would be strong enough to protect her from Dax‘s advances. She wasn’t sure he could, but she was curious to know how far he was willing to go.
Saki turned off the water and slowly turned around, facing Gully. She paused for a moment, allowing him the full view of her naked body. She looked at the growing bulge in his pants. She liked it. She wanted to know if he was bold enough to follow his desires. So staring into his eyes, she walked toward him. Inches from him, she stopped, inhaled, then seductively turned and walked into the stall where her clothes hung.
She dabbed herself dry. Halfway through, she turned so that Gully could watch. He did. Slowly pulling on her panties, she finished dressing and collected her things.
“Hey, Gully?” Dax said, entering the bathroom.
Upon hearing his voice, everything ended. Saki broke her seductive pose, and Gully looked around like he was trying to hide.
“Hey, did you see…” Dax stopped when he saw Saki. He pieced things together. She was still wet, and Gully stood, trying to hide the bulge in his pants.
The tension in the room immediately rose. Dax didn’t have to ask what was going on; he knew what he had to do. Saki, unsure of where to go, also stood frozen.
“Saki, leave. I need to talk to Gully alone.”
She looked up into Dax’s stern face. He didn’t look angry as much as dangerous. Saki thought it best to exit as quickly as possible. When she looked back from the doorway, Dax had turned his sights firmly on a wilting Gully. A low growl resonated throughout the concrete room.
Saki stepped back into the sunlight, finding the rest of the pack. Frank was sitting on a picnic bench with his back arched and the back of his head on the table, while Patrick stood next to him speaking. Mark flipped open the coolers and the cabinets, presumably looking for something to eat, but never settling on anything.
Saki‘s scent got their attention before the site of her did. With all of the boys staring at her, she headed toward Frank and Patrick.
“Hey,” Frank offered. “So you’re here now.”
“Yeah,” she replied, trying not to give her feelings away.
“It’s nice, right?” Frank asked with a smile.
“Yeah, I didn’t expect this much.”
“Dax has been working on this for the couple of months he’s been a shifter. Did you hear his plan?”
“You mean to make this a resort for wolves?”
Frank looked at Patrick before turning back to Saki. “Yeah. I didn’t think of it like that. But, I can see that. Yeah. It’s cool, right?”
“Yeah, that would be pretty amazing. Do you know who’s paying for it?”
“He was using his dad’s money in the beginning. But now he has some big investor that he doesn’t talk about. Do you know?” Frank asked, turning to Patrick.
“Nah,” Patrick replied, looking away.
“Yeah, whoever it is has some deep pockets. Because the things that he told us about ain’t cheap.”
Saki listened as Frank pointed out some of the changes to be made. He talked about landscaping and clearing out more bush. So far the cabins covered only a small fraction of the island. But Frank spoke of creating something the size of one of Nassau’s all-inclusive resorts. Whoever was backing him must be worth millions, because millions was what Dax‘s vision would take.
Saki looked up when she saw Dax finally leave the bathroom. He didn’t look at her as he took the long path back toward the dock. A few seconds later, Gully slithered out, heading in the opposite direction. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but she wondered how much of it was because of her little stunt. The thought of those two boys fighting over her made her feel good.
As the day continued, more new faces arrived on the island. Frank acted as host, introducing Saki to each one. They were all members of Dax‘s pack, and each marveled at the progress being made on the retreat.
By sunset, the dock was full. Like at the humane society during the last full moon, Saki saw some surprising faces in the crowd. Also, almost everyone was white. But beyond that, they all seemed very manicured.
These people were the island’s elite. It was almost like an exclusive club. Saki wondered if the investors consisted of everyone she saw there. Certainly, they had enough money combined to do it. Still, the way that Frank and Dax had talked about it, Saki thought that Dax‘s backing came from a single wealthy investor. She looked around, wondering if he was here.
“30 minutes, everyone,” Patrick announced to the crowd gathered within the dining area.
Watching him, Saki finally understood the role that Patrick played in their pack. Patrick was strikingly good-looking with sharp cheekbones and wavy dark blonde hair. He was model-esque and quiet. He was the perfect intermediary between these rich socialites and the rest of Dax‘s pack. Patrick was the host that the Lyford Cay crowd could trust.
Slowly, the 25 or 30 visitors moved toward the cabins. Going with them, she peeked in as everyone undressed. The time for turning was quickly approaching. She could feel it. Remembering she had her own cabin, she headed for it.
Saki saw Gully reenter from the bush. He had been running, and seeing Saki, he didn’t take his eyes off of her, even while whispering to Mark.
In a moment, Mark’s attention swung abruptly toward her. She was sure they were talking about her. The way Mark turned and marched toward her sent her heart racing.
Saki‘s mouth dropped open as she watched the scene unfold. Gully quickly left Mark and found Patrick to whisper into his ear. Patrick headed for Saki with the same determination as his friend, and Gully disappeared into the construction area behind the cabins.
“What’s the matter?” Saki asked as Mark got within earshot.
Mark didn’t answer as he continued plodding toward her.
“Did I do something wrong?” Saki said, searching her mind for what it could be.
“So, we should trust you, hey?” Mark asked mockingly.
“Yeah, you can trust me. Why are you asking me that? I don’t understand.”
“Yeah, sure you don’t understand,” Mark said, grabbing her arm and allowing Patrick to grasp the other.
“No, seriously, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Yeah? Well you can tell Dax that,” Mark insisted.
The two led Saki away from the dining area toward the shack where she had met Dax on her first trip to the island. As soon as Dax saw her, he moved in front of her and roughly grabbed her cheeks, lifting her head up to stare into her eyes.
“So you took care of things with Lane, did you? You took care of everything?” Dax taunted.
“Yeah. I did what you said. I broken it off. Why are you doing this?”
“Well that’s a good question. Why am I doing this? You want to know what another good question is? What is she doing here?” He asked turning her head toward the door of the shack.
As she looked, a person emerged from the darkness.
“Marnie?” Saki asked confused. “Marnie, what are you doing here?” Saki shook her head, trying to make sense of everything. Saki turned back toward Dax. “Wait, what is she doing here?”
“That’s what I asked you. What is your sister doing here?” he demanded. “And you want to know another great question?” Dax took her face and again turned it toward her sister. “Smell.”
Saki looked at Dax confused.
“I said smell,” he yelled.
Saki turned back toward Marnie and inhaled.
“Who does she smell like?” Dax demanded.
Dax didn’t have to ask the question; she would have recognized that scent anywhere. Lane‘s scent was all over her. More than that, so was the rest of his pack’s. It was then that Saki knew that everyone was in danger.
“Whose smell is that?” Dax yelled, squeezing her face harder.
/> “Lane‘s,” Saki admitted.
“That’s right. Now, do you care to tell me why your sister showed up on the island smelling like Lane?”
“It’s some sort of mistake,” Saki offered.
“A mistake? Is that what you think it is, a mistake?”
Dax let go of Saki and glared at her.
“I don’t think you know what a mistake is.”
Dax took off his shirt, revealing his lean rippling chest.
“See, you say mistake, but a mistake is something that burns at you. A mistake is something that you don’t quickly forget. No, you don’t quite understand what a mistake is yet. But you will,” he said, picking up the backpack she had seen him wear when he transformed into a wolf in her backyard. “A mistake stays with you forever,” he proclaimed, retrieving a gun.
“No Dax, what are you gonna do?” Saki asked, feeling the blood drain from her face.
Dax held the gun out in front of them. “Oh, what? This? No. This isn’t what you have to worry about,” he said, tucking the gun in the pack strapped to his chest. “No, your mistake will be a little bit more personal.”
Gully came from the bushes, carrying what looked like twine.
“Tie her up,” Dax ordered. “Tie them both up. And let’s give them some sisterly time together. Lock them in there. And hurry up with it. We have about a minute left.”
Saki watched as Mark and Patrick descended on her again. Grabbing both of her arms, Gully bound her wrists together.
“Tie their legs too. We don’t want Saki getting away before her sister gets to meet her real self.”
“Please don’t do this, Dax. I did everything you said. Just let her go. She doesn’t know what she did. Please Dax, I’m begging you.”
Dax looked away as the boys took Saki and her sister into the shack. As they quickly bound them, the wolves felt the first shots of pain from their turning. They got out as quickly as they could and tied the door shut. The only source of light were speckles from the holes in the thatched roof.
“Don’t do this, Dax. Please, I’m begging you! I’ll do anything. I’m begging you!” Saki yelled before screaming in pain.
