Masked Feelings Page 14

“Then get ready! We'll be leaving in ten minutes,” Jasmine announced and we started running to our rooms to get ready. I made sure not to make a noise as my little boy was still snoring softly. I decided to wear blue denim shorts and a black long-sleeved crop top. I let my hair loose over my shoulder. My red lipstick already tracing my lips as I stared at myself in the mirror. I put my sandals on. I took my handbag and walked to Alena's room. Just as I was about to open the door, the knob twisted and the door opened to reveal my sister in a pink summer dress and her hair braided to one side.

“Is Thomas sleeping?” she asked as she put her shades on her head, blocking some hair strands from coming on her face.

“Yeah, he is. I need to tell someone to look after him though,” I said as we started walking to the main door.

“Dean is in the study room, probably working on some business shit,” Alena said, rolling her eyes. “Go tell him, I know he won't mind.” I nodded and started making my way to study room. I thought Dean was gone to work because I haven't seen him since this morning. Once I was in front of the enormous white door, I hesitantly knocked and when I heard a faint 'come in,' I opened the door and stepped inside. Dean was sitting on one of the comfortable couch with his feet on the table in front of him. His laptop was on his feet and he was wearing shorts and a shirt. My eyes widened when I saw Damian as well. The guy's back was facing me. He was wearing his usual suit and tie. He was most probably back from their office.

“Hey Dean,” I greeted and as soon as Damian heard my voice, he turned to look at me. Holy shit. Damian Spears was wearing glasses, ladies and gentlemen. And he looked so fuckable right now.

Calm down your freaking hormones, Athena.

  “Athena,” Dean acknowledged my presence.

“The girls and I we're going out,” I started as I turned my attention back to Dean. I could feel Damian's eyes raking my body. “I was wondering if you could keep an eye on Thomas,” I inquired as I let my eyes shift to Damian for a few seconds. The guy was now frowning at me.

“Yeah sure,” Dean said with a bright smile. “Have fun. And don't worry, I'll keep both eyes on him,” he joked, making me roll my eyes at his lame attempt.

“Ha-ha,” I faked laughter. “That was so funny! Now I'm leaving before I die with laughter,” I said, sarcasm coating each one of my words. Dean simple chuckled as I started walking to the door.

“Wait,” Damian's cold and controlling voice echoed in the study room. I stopped and turned to look at him. I offered him a smile, despite the fact that he was frowning at me.

“Yes?” I asked as I stood next to the door. I noticed that Dean was more interested in the exchange between Damian and me than his work. “Dean. Don't bother with us. Continue your work,” I said and he simply smirked and shrugged.

“Why would I work when there's something much more interesting happening here?” he teased as he motioned between Damian and me. I rolled my eyes and turned my attention to Damian, who was now glaring at his brother. Damian wrapped his hand around my wrist and opened the door. We were soon standing outside. I chuckled when I heard Dean groan in annoyance.

“So what is it?” I asked, still chuckling at Dean's childish behavior. I can't believe he's going to get married to Alena. But again, they're so alike.

“Where are you going?” Damian asked, staring at me, his eyes piercing mine.

“Out with the girls,” I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.

  “Where?”

“I don't know yet!” I exclaimed in disbelief. He rolled his eyes and put his hand on my cheek. He leaned and soon his lips caressed mine. I was too addicted to his kisses, so I wrapped my hands around his neck and pulled him even closer.

“Stay here,” he whispered against my lips. I chuckled and pecked his lips before pulling away.

“No,” I said, making him sigh. It was as if he was trying to control himself.

“Is Rosemary going to be with you?” he asked as he wrapped his hands around my waist and pulling me closer to him.

“No. Just Jasmine, Alena, and Rose,” I told Damian as I rested my head against his chest. “I need to go now,” I said as I pulled away, making him groan.

“Call me if you have any problems.” He ordered, pecking my lips. As I walked to the main door, where the girls were most probably waiting, I noticed that Damian was following behind.

“Where are you going?” I asked as I stopped in my track.

“Leading you to the door,” he said and I blinked several times as I stared at him.

“I know where the door is,” I said.

“Still coming,” he said firmly. I knew that I wouldn't be able to change his mind, so I kept walking with him by my side. “Couldn't you put on some jeans?” he asked suddenly, making my eyes drop to my denim shorts.

“What's wrong with this?” I asked as I glared at the hot piece of man who was walking next to me.

“It's cold outside,” he said with a shrug.

  “It's not.” I deadpanned.

“There are a lot of creeps who are going to stare at you,” he said. I burst out laughing and shook my head at his response. I slowly leaned against him, making him lean as well. I kissed his cheek before biting his ear.

“You happen to be one of those creeps, right?” I asked seductively into his ear. I watched as goosebumps rose on his skin. He groaned and pushed me against one of the walls.

“I have the right to stare at you, to touch you, and to fuck you,” he said as his hand grabbed me tightly between my legs from outside my shorts, making me moan at the feeling of his hand on me.

“Damian,” I moaned. He closed his eyes as his hand stayed still. “Damian. Someone will see us,” I gasped as I tried my best to control my raging hormones.

“Let them see,” he said as he moved my hair slightly so that he could see the hickeys which were fading away. I smiled and shook my head.

“I need to go,” I whispered. He wrapped his hand around my neck and pulled my head to his. Soon, I felt his lips on mine. This kiss was possessive and demanding. I wrapped my hand around his neck soon, I was lifted in the air, making my legs wrap around his waist.

“Don't go,” he said against my lips.

“You have work to do, Damian,” I told him as he rested his head on my shoulder. I was still against the wall, with my legs around him when we heard a gasp. I tried to pull away but Damian kept me close to him. He didn't seem to give a damn about who it might be.

“Guys! Seriously? In the hall? On the wall? Are you serious?” I breathed in relief when I realized that it was Rose.

“She's staying,” Damian said, making me scoff.

“I'm not. Let me down now,” I said as I tried to get out of his arms.

“Come on, big boy. You can do her some other time. Now we need to go,” Rose snapped as she walked towards me. Damian backed away a little bit and slowly put me back on my feet.

“Be back quick,” Damian said as he walked away, looking a little bit snappy. Rose wiggled her eyebrows as she stared at me. She hooked her arm with mine and we both made our way to the front door. I could see the small smile on Rose's face and I knew that she wanted to say something.

“What is it, Rose?” I asked with a sigh. She gave me a smirk and shrugged.

“For someone who said no feelings involved, he is really possessive,” she said with a grin.

“He just needed a quickie,” I said with a shrug. Rose rolled her eyes and we made our way to the girls.

  “You're so stupid,” she said.

“Rose. I wish you drowned when the Titanic sunk,” I joked, and again, she rolled her eyes at my lame attempt to joke. Jasmine and Alena were already waiting for us in the car and they seemed to be getting along pretty well. We got in the car and I drove to the nearby mall.

  Chapter 16

  Ross Is in the House

My day out with the girls was really tiring. I huffed as I stared at the number of bags that were in the backseat of my car. T
he girls were walking to the door, with only their handbags in their hands. Are they kidding? I glared at their backs, then at the shopping bags before sighing in frustration.

“Girls! Get your asses back here! Who do you think is going to carry your bags?” I snapped as they turned to look at me. The three of them stared at me as if I've grown three heads.

“There are people who are paid to do this,” Alena said as she rolled her eyes.

“Those people happen to be busy with your wedding!” I exclaimed in disbelief. “Move your lazy asses over here and take your things!” I ordered as I opened the door and motioned for them to take their bags.

“Someone's PMSing,” Jasmine whispered loud enough to Rose. I glared at her, making her chuckle. The girls started taking their bags from the car and they all glared at me as they had to carry all these things by themselves.

“Do you need help?” I turned my head to see Jace helping Rose with the bags. I rolled my eyes as Jace ended up carrying all the bags, even Rose's handbag.

“You're so stupid,” I finally said when Jace's eyes met mine. He took a deep breath and nodded in agreement, making me laugh at his poor self. We all walked into the house, a feeling of relief invaded me as I was really tired and I wanted to hug my bed so bad. We were out for a good four hours. I had only three shopping bags because I bought a dress for me and some toys for Thomas. I started making my way to the stairs, excited to give Thomas his toys.

“Where are you going?” Alena asked me. I stopped and lifted the bags.

“To give those to Tommy,” I said and kept on walking when she nodded. What I didn't expect to see in Thomas's room was Damian, sitting on the bed with my sleeping brother in his lap. When he heard the door open, Damian lifted his head to look at me and then motioned for me to stay quiet. I nodded and watched as he moved Thomas slowly and lay him on the bed before covering him with a blanket. I put the bags on the floor and walked out of the room, with Damian following me. As soon as the door was closed, I was pinned to the wall next to it.

“Four goddamn hours. What do you understand by being quick?” Damian snapped as he rested his forehead against mine. I shrugged and pushed me away slightly.

“Blame the other girls! They take a lot of time,” I huffed and watched as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “Why were you in there?” I asked softly as I wrapped my hands around his waist to calm him down.

“Thomas woke up a few hours ago, so Dean and I gave him food and played with him,” he said as he opened his eyes to look at me. “He said he was sleepy. He fell asleep on my lap and I didn't feel like going away.” I stood on my tiptoes and pecked his lips before pulling away.

“Thank you for looking after him while I was not here,” I said softly. He gave me a smile and just as he was about to talk, we heard someone walking up the stairs. I quickly pulled away from Damian and stood far from him, making his smile disappear and a glare to take its place. Rose soon walked up the stairs and when she saw Damian, she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at me, making me roll my eyes.

“Athena, Ross is here, looking for you,” Rose said, making me frown at her.

“What?” I asked in confusion. Ross? Here? “Why is he here?” I asked and Rose shrugged at my question.

“How am I supposed to know?” she asked before walking back down the stairs. I started following her but hands on my arm stopped me. I turned to see Damian staring at me. No. He was glaring at me.

“Who is he?” he asked, his jaw clenched.

“The guy who was talking to me at the park,” I told him, peeking over the railing to see whether Ross was there or not.

“What is he doing here?” I could detect the small pinch of anger in his voice.

“How the hell am I supposed to know that? And why the hell are you angry?” I asked with a huff as I turned my attention to him. Damian's gray eyes were fixed on me. His jaw was clenched, enhancing its sharpness.

“I'm not angry,” he snapped, making me roll my eyes.

“Sure,” I drawled sarcastically, resulting in Damian pulling me into him and he wrapped his arms around my waist, tightening his grip on me.

“You haven't seen me angry yet, sweetheart,” he whispered in my ear before biting my ear lobe. I bit my lips, trying to control the moan that was threatening to come out.

“I'd love to see you in hulk mode while we're in bed,” I said seductively, making his eyes go wide and his pupils dilated with lust.

“You won't like it,” he said, his tone matching mine, his voice thick with lust.

  “Why?”

“Because I will be hard. Rough. Controlling. I'll take you until you scream. I won't care whether it will be of pleasure or pain,” Damian said in my ear, making goosebumps rise on my skin. I could feel me dripping at the thought of Damian taking me hard.

“That sounds tempting,” I said, without really giving much thought to whatever I was saying. I was lost in his words and his eyes.

Snap out of it! Ross is downstairs!

“I need you,” Damian said suddenly, making my eyes go wide. I smiled but shook my head.

“I need to go. Ross is probably waiting,” I said and soon realized that I shouldn't have talked about Ross because Damian's eyes hardened. He let go of my arm and glared at me.

“Go,” he spat, making me glare at him.

“He's here! I can't just ditch him,” I tried to explain but he simply stared at me, without any expression on his face.

“Then go,” he said, his eyes still fixed on mine. I took a deep breath and decided to go because I didn't want to get into an argument with him. I rolled my eyes at him before walking down the stairs and quickly put a smile on my face as I walked in the living room where I found my sister, Rose, Jace, and Ross sitting on the couch. Ross was wearing black jeans and a white shirt. Yeah, he did look hot but he fell short compared to Damian. I could hear steps behind me, and I knew that it was Damian. I turned to look at him and noticed that Dean was now standing next to him with a smirk on his face.

“Goddess of Wisdom!” I heard Ross exclaim when his eyes fell on me. I turned and gave him a bright smile. I watched as he walked to me and pulled me in for a hug. Now, that's awkward. I wrapped my arms around his waist awkwardly and seconds later, I let go but he didn't. I waited. When he did, I let out a sigh of relief.

“How are you?” I asked, pretending to be positively surprised. I knew that my sister was playing matchmaker.

“I'm good! Your sister gave me a call and told me to stay over till the wedding,” he said as a bright smile adorned his face. I glanced at Alena, who was busy avoiding my eyes.

“Oh great,” I faked happiness. I was actually happy that he was here but knowing my sister's motive, I knew that there was some other reason to Ross's presence and I didn't want to lead the poor guy on. “How's Aross?” I asked as we all sat on the couches. Ross decided to sit just next to me, which made Damian glare daggers in my direction from the other side of the room.

“He's good. He actually likes your little brother a lot,” he said. He always had a bright smile on his face and it seemed to be infectious as I smiled back at him.

“It's pretty late. We're going to bed,” Rose announced after she yawned. Jace nodded and took my best friend's hand in his as they stood up. Yup. They were definitely together. Once the wedding is over, I'll have to talk to my best friend.

“Athena, show Ross one of the guest rooms, please?” Alena pleaded. Knowing that Ross was watching our exchange, I nodded and gave her a smile, which was obviously fake. I wanted to bitch slap my own sister right now.

  I'm not mean.

  No.

  Well.

  Maybe.

“We'll come along,” Dean with a grin. What was he doing? I knew that he was trying to do something. Ross and I made our way to the stairs and I noticed that Damian and Dean were following us. Why?

“So Athena, you're happy I'm here?” he asked with a small flirty smile. I smiled back and shrugged. />
“I would have preferred if Aross came,” I teased, playfully punching his shoulder. He faked hurt and pouted.

“So you're not glad that I'm here?” he asked again, making me roll my eyes as he pouted more. I chuckled at his behavior and smirked.

“I'm happy that you're here, Ross,” I told him. “You act like a seven-year-old boy too.” Ross gasped and laughed. He didn't really give a damn about the two guys stalking us, and seriously, I didn't too. Ross was actually a good friend and I liked talking to him. But to think of him and me in a relationship was a no, for me. I haven't given it much thought yet. We never know. Maybe later my mind might change.

“You always seem to be lost in your thoughts.” Ross pointed out as he stared at me while we walked down the hall. I grinned and shrugged.

“I'm thinking of the various ways to murder you without being caught,” I said and he simply shook his head at my answer as he bit his lips. I noticed his eyes trailing on mine.

“I'm actually glad I'm here,” Ross said as he slowed his pace. He smiled at me. It was a sincere smile, proving that he meant his words. That was cute. “I'll get to know you more,” he added.

“You've got my number for that,” I said and laughed. “And you still haven't texted me!” I exclaimed, making him laugh. Yeah! Believe me! The guy took my number and never texted me. How the hell am I supposed to get his number?

“Stop trying to get my number!” Ross exclaimed in a girly voice, resulting in me laughing out loud at his lame but still funny attempt of mimicking a girl.

“Can you guys stop flirting and walk?” Damian snapped. I turned my attention to him and noticed that he was glaring at me. Dean was grinning next to him. I want to bitch slap him too. Wedding gift for the bride and the groom!

“Then stop following us and go to your room,” I said as I crossed my arms over my chest. This made my boobs seem bigger and I noticed Ross staring, so I let my arms fall to my sides.

“You're blocking the way to my room,” he said, his voice colder than ice, if that was possible.
