Masked Feelings Page 27

by Lechna Baram

The heavy rain and the sexual tension reminded me of the time when Damian and I had sex in the car.

“Can I put on some music?” I asked, my voice cracking a bit. For the first time of my life, I wanted a man that much. My heart was beating damn fast. It was killing me knowing that he was so close but I couldn't do anything. He nodded. I put on the music and The Weekend's song came on.

  Oh fuck me.

As if the sexual tension was not enough. I groaned and leaned my head on the window seat. I could feel the lower part of my body begging for attention. Suddenly, the car slowed down. I turned to look at Damian, who was still frowning. I looked around, noticing that we were in an empty parking lot. We could barely see outside because of the rain.

“Damian,” I gasped and turned to look at him. I didn't have time to react when I felt his lips touching mine. Holy shit. I needed this. I needed him. I wrapped my hands around his neck, pulling him even closer, biting his lips gently. The next thing I knew, I was sitting on his lap. I pulled away and rested my forehead against his. “This no sex shit is not going to work,” I said breathless, as he smirked.

“I already knew that,” he said and slowly pushed my skirt upwards. I lifted myself and let him pull down my underwear. Damn. He made me feel like no one else. He grabbed my ass and pulled me even closer to him, making me grind on him. I moaned gently when I felt his hard on. “This is what you do,” Damian whispered and gently bit my earlobe. My hands made their way to his pants. I needed him inside of me. I managed to pull down his pants and went on kissing him again. His lips were so addictive. When he entered me, I bit his lips, making him groan in pleasure.

I moved my hips, making him groan even more. I buried my head in the crook of his neck, kissing his neck, making him shiver. My goal right now was to please him. His grip on my hips tightened and I increased the pace, going faster. Nothing else mattered right now. When I pulled away from his neck, he slid his fingers through my hair, tugging at it gently as he rode me harder. Just as I was about to moan, he crashed his lips against mine. He absorbed my moans. He gently bit on my tongue and soon, our tongues battled for dominance. I gave up when I felt the pleasure building inside of me. I could feel Damian tensing too. At the same time, we exploded in a spiral of pleasure. I rested my head on his shoulder. His hands wrapped themselves around me, pulling me even closer. He remained inside of me, not moving for a few minutes. We were both breathing heavily.

“We still have to go to that meeting?” Damian asked as I pulled away to look at him.

“Yeah, why?” I asked and flinched when he pulled out of me and fixed my skirt. I zipped up his pants with a satisfied smirk on my face.

“I was planning to go home and take a shower...with you,” he added, his beautiful eyes gleaming with mischief. I pecked his lips and got off his lap. This was awesome. I didn't regret it a little bit. I didn't care whether the deal was on or not. I didn't care about how messed up this was going to get. I cared about him. Pleasing him seemed to please me. We were not going to be able to stay in the same house without jumping on each other each freaking time.

“We still need to go because Jace might be already there,” I told him. “We can still take that shower when we get home,” I added, avoiding his eyes as my tone got suggestive. He turned to look at me and clenched his jaw. His eyes were glistening with desire. I smiled politely and winked at him.

“You're going to be the death of me,” Damian groaned and started driving.

  Chapter 34

  Jace

I walked into the cafe with Damian following behind. I looked around, trying to see whether Jace was already here or not. I didn't notice him. I turned to look at Damian who seemed to be busy looking for Jace as well.

“Let's sit and wait for him.” I suggested. He gave me one curt nod before taking my hand in his. I stared at our interlinked hands. I could feel a spark igniting inside of me. He gave a little squeeze, making me raise my hand to look at him. He smiled, making me swoon inside.

“Come on,” he said and we made our way to a table situated in the corner of the café. I sat down on a comfortable bench. Damian sat next to me.

“What if someone takes a picture of us and it ends in the papers?” I asked out of the blue. He shrugged, giving me a grin as he turned to look at me.

“Your sister is married to my brother. We're bound to meet at times,” he responded smartly.

“Yeah. Bound to meet but not bound to do it in a car,” I said, a smirk playing on my lips after I ran my tongue on them to moisten them. His eyes followed the movement of my lips. Just as he was about to talk, we noticed someone's presence. We lifted heads to see a cute guy standing in front of us with menu cards in his hands.

“Good evening. I'm Jerry and I'll be your waiter,” he said with a bright smile. His smile seemed to be somehow contagious as I smiled back at him. “These are the menu cards and once you've decided, I'll be here to take your order.” I nodded and watched as he walked away.

“Stop smiling,” I heard Damian demand. What? I stared at him as if he had lost his mind. Well, seems like he did.

“Why?” I asked and watched as he opened the menu cards and glared at whatever there were inside.

“I'm sorry for being late.” We both looked up to see a drenched Jace standing in front of us. Damian motioned for him to sit on the other bench across us after they shook hands. “I'm glad you came along,” Jace said with a polite smile on his face. Gone was the frustrated Jace that I saw earlier. He seemed to be back to his dual usual self, except for the tight fake smile. It was most probably due to the fact that Rose left and now he's missing her.

“What did you want to know?” I asked, my tone cold and formal. That man, sitting in front of me, hurt my best friend and I wanted to know why. And why was he so keen to get her back after hurting her? Maybe he regretted it?

“Where is Rose?” he asked. I could see an unknown emotion swim in his eyes.

“Why?” I asked, taking note of his body language and his little behavior. Being a psychology student, all these little details were important to decipher a person. I could feel Damian's eyes on me. But right now, this whole situation between Jace and Rose was my priority.

“I made a mistake.” Jace sighed. “I shouldn't have left her that night.” He lifted his head to look at me. There was no regret in his eyes. He was saying those words without actually meaning them.

“But you did. You left her. She was drunk. She was drunk in the park,” I told him, trying to control the anger that was slowly coming. “She could have been attacked.”

“Athena was attacked that night,” Damian told him. Jace stared at him in confusion.

“After we've put Rose in the car, I went back to where she was to get her bag and someone attacked me,” I explained. Jace stared at me, and after a few minutes, his eyes widened.

“And are you okay?” Jace asked, staring at me, trying to see if I was bruised somewhere.

“Yeah, I am,” I told him. I motioned to my arm, where the attacker had slashed it. “He cut my arm with a knife,” I told him, my voice cracking a little bit as I realized how serious this was. I finally turned to look at Damian. Now I understood why he was worried about me. This situation was a lot more serious than what I thought. “This could have been Rose,” I told Jace when I turned my attention back to him.

“Is she okay?” he asked quickly. He seemed to be scared and worried. He was so confusing. He was difficult to understand and to decipher.

“Except for a broken heart, she's okay,” I told him.

He sighed and stared at the table. The waiter walked to us, a smile on his face. He always seemed to be in a good mood and it was nice to see a change.

“Have you decided yet?” he asked politely, staring at me.

I didn't want to eat and Damian didn't seem to want to eat either.

“We'll take two chocolate milkshakes.” Damian ordered. Then he turned to Jace.

  “I'll take the same,” J
ace said. The waiter nodded, then flashed another smile in my direction before walking away.

“Stop smiling like a creep.” I turned to look at Damian glaring at me.

“What?” I asked, confusion taking over me.

“He'll think you're interested,” the handsome man, sitting next to me snapped.

“Why?” I asked, getting pretty defensive over the polite waiter.

“You're smiling at him.” Damian pointed out.

“It's called being polite!” I exclaimed before huffing and turning my attention to Jace who was now staring at us in amusement.

“But for him, it's flirting,” Damian said.

“You're twenty-eight! Not eighteen,” I burst out. What was wrong with him?

“Simply pointing out the truth,” he said, shrugging. He took his phone out of his pocket. “I'm going to make a call,” he simply said before walking away. Meanie. I rolled my eyes and turned to look at Jace again.

“He's jealous,” Jace stated out of the blue. I scoffed and shook my head.

“He's not. He just finds it amusing to annoy me.” Jace smiled. “Why did you leave Rose?” I asked softly. His smile slowly disappeared as his eyes drifted back to the white table. He didn't want to meet my eyes. He was avoiding eye contact at all cost. “Jace,” I urged, looking at him in a reassuring way. I needed him to tell me. I wanted to understand this somehow messed up situation.

“I didn't want her to continue that job,” Jace told me. His voice quivering a little bit. “I hated seeing those men touching her. I hated seeing her nearly naked, dancing in front of them. I hated hearing what those men were saying,” he said, clenching his jaw slightly. “And when I told her to quit, she disagreed,” he huffed. “That worthless job is more important than me,” he added, chuckling humorlessly. I didn't know what to think about this. I blinked several times and watched as Damian came back. He sat next to me, observing Jace and me, trying to make sense of things.

“That's what she does to earn a living, Jace.”

“I earn money enough to take care of her,” he said, shaking his head and put his hands on his face before taking a deep breath.

“She doesn't like to feel dependent on someone. Why do you think she left her house?”

“But there are other jobs available,” Jace argued. I couldn't disagree. If Rose wanted to save her relationship with Jace, she will have to think about all this. “It's hard to watch the one you consider yours entertain other men.” Damian nodded in agreement as the waiter came back. As the waiter put our milkshakes on the table, I noticed him slip a piece of paper with my tissue paper. I frowned and stared at him, only to see him winking before leaving. Damian quickly pulled the paper out of my hand and stared at it. I pulled it back and saw a number scribbled on it.

  Polite waiter?

  Hell no.

“He was just trying to be polite,” Damian mumbled sarcastically, making me roll my eyes. He took the paper again and crumpled it in a ball. I watched as he looked for the waiter, who was not taking the orders of the table near ours. In the fraction of a second, I watched as he threw the paper on his face.

  What the hell?

“Damian Spears! You're twenty-eight!” I gasped in horror as Jace chuckled and the waiter looked at us, quite puzzled.

“I know how old I am,” he replied, totally calm.

“Then act like it,” I huffed.

“Guys,” Jace started, making us turn our attention back to him. “I need to go. I have the night shift at the hospital,” he explained and went to open his wallet but Damian motioned him to stop.

“I'll pay. We're going to talk a little bit,” Damian told him, motioning between him and me. Jace nodded and shook hands with him. I stood up and wrapped my arms around around Jace. I felt sorry for how their relationship was going.

“I'll talk to Rose tonight,” I promised. He smiled and walked away. I sat down, now focusing all my attention on the man sitting by my side. “What did you want to talk about?” I asked, staring at his beautiful eyes. He gave me a smirk.

“About that shower,” he whispered, making me gulp. I moved close to the wall and watched as he moved too. When I felt his hand on my knee, I froze.

“What about that shower?” I asked, trying to keep control of my voice. I watched as he ran his tongue over his lips and grinned when I gulped. He was having great pleasure torturing me in this way. His words were enough to make me wet. I pressed my thighs together and exhaled shakily.

“It's going to be a long shower.” His hand travel upwards. He seemed proud when he found my thighs pressed up together. His hand managed to get between my legs, pulling my skirt upwards. When his fingers skimmed my folds, I moaned and quickly covered it with a cough. The most dazzling thing was the way he was staring at me. He always stared at me as if I was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. It made me feel special. “Already wet for me again,” he said in wonder as he pulled his hand back. I watched as he put his fingers in his mouth, licking each one of them, not breaking eye contact with me at all.

“Damian,” I tried to scold but it came out as a moan. I closed my eyes and tried to control my fucking hormones which were so greedy of sex. We just did it in the car and here I was, wanting him again. He had that special thing which makes him so fucking irresistible.

“Yes, Athena?” he asked, raising his eyebrows in innocence, innocence which didn't suit him.

“Shut up,” I practically begged. I didn't want to melt with his voice, with his words, and with his eyes. He chuckled at my words then shook his head.

“I love torturing you. Having you sit next to me makes me hard,” he went on, not caring if people were going to hear him or not. “Why can't I make you feel the same way?” he then asked as he stared at me, right in the eye, meaning each word he said. I groaned and put my head on the table.

Damian Spears was sure as hell going to be the death of me.

  Chapter 35

  Intruder

“Hello,” Damian answered when he picked up his phone.

We were currently standing on his porch. He was just about to open the door when his phone rang. I stood beside him, waiting impatiently for the shower.

“Right now?” he asked, sounding a little bit annoyed. “Fine. I'll be there in ten minutes.” He sighed, his eyes trailing on me. He ended the call and shoved his phone into his pocket.

“You need to go,” I said, offering a reassuring smile to show him that I didn't mind him leaving for now. I was tired and even though sex in the shower was a tempting idea, I felt like I might collapse due to exhaustion.

“Yes. My father has important news.”

I watched as he brought his hand to my face and gently moved my hair away from my face. He tugged the strand of hair behind my ear.

“That's fine,” I told him, turning my head slightly to kiss his hand. Some unknown emotion was present in his eyes as he stared down at me. “Should I wait for you?” I asked softly. He shook his head.

“I'll be home pretty late,” Damian said, sighing a little bit. “Eat something then go to sleep.” I nodded as he opened the door and motioned for me to walk in. I did. Once I was inside, he closed the door, not even giving me a kiss. What was I waiting for? I took a deep breath while turning around. I wasn't hungry. I was simply tired. Having sex in the car was tiring. Maybe today's first day at work was tiring too.

I wandered around the house after putting my bag on the table that was in the living room. The house seemed so lonely and depressing. I wonder how Damian could live here.

He used to have Rosemary though.

I nodded at the thought and roamed the house more in depth. My eyes widened when I saw a library down the hall. There was a freaking library in his house. I was in awe standing in in front of it. I felt like I found paradise. I quickly walked towards a shelf, not caring whether I had the right to walk in 5here or not. I took my heels off and left them somewhere in the library room as I ran my fingers over the books. So many books. I
took a deep breath and took in the smell of new and old books. A smile stretched on my face when I started looking at the books, hoping that I would find one which was interesting that I could read when I was bored.

“Damn,” I whispered when I realized that most of them were interesting. I picked one randomly because I couldn't choose. Then I walked to the huge couch in the library itself. I sat down and realized I was still in my work clothes. Being the lazy ass that I was, I stood up and took off the tight skirt, leaving the blouse on. I opened up the first two buttons and let my hair loose so that I was now fully comfortable. I took the book and settled in the huge couch, putting the small pillows behind my back.

It was now around eleven and I had finished the book that I was reading. Damian was not home yet. I took a deep breath and stood up. I stretched my body while yawning. I walked to the shelf and put the book back in its place. It was an interesting book, the suspense type, but in the end it was obvious who the killer was. I turned the light off before leaving. I needed to take a bath and go to sleep. I was not hungry. I walked to my room with my skirt in hand and my blouse covering half of my butt. There was no one in the house so it wouldn't be a problem.

When I walked into my room, I turned on the light and threw my skirt near the door of the bathroom. I walked to my drawer, feeling really sleepy. I opened it and took out shorts and a top which I would eventually wear to bed. I took a towel and walked to the bathroom. I closed my eyes and yawned again, my eyes tearing up at the same time. When I opened them, I froze completely. I was facing the mirror and on it three words were written in my red lipstick: I'm watching you.
