Masked Feelings Page 42

I hugged him and closed my eyes for a few seconds. I wish I was back home with him, on our bed.

“I've got an idea,” I said with wide eyes. I didn't even need to explain. I simply stood up slowly, looking for Jace. He was still standing by the door. He wasn't doing anything, which was weird. I took the pillows and the blankets with me.

“What are you doing?” Damian asked. I heard something outside.

  The ladder!

I walked to the other corner of the room, slowly approaching the door from the side so that Jace wouldn't see me. With a deep breath, I pushed the pillow and the blanket against the hole.

“Push the drawer against it” I told Damian who quickly stood up and ran to me. I could feel Jace tapping against the pillows and the blanket. Damian pushed the drawer against the pillows. That will give us time.

“Get out,” I told Rose who quickly ran to the window. She whimpered when she looked down. I ran to her and took her hand in mine, helping her while she got on the ladder. “You'll be fine.”

She slowly climbed down the ladder.

“Now you,” Damian said. He was right beside me.

“You're getting down after me,” I said. He nodded. I was scared Damian would want to get revenge on Jace. I was scared that he would try to face Jace. “Promise me!” I ordered.

“I promise,” Damian quickly said. I got on the ladder and nodded. I slowly climbed off. I watched as Damian did the same, breathing in relief. Once we were standing next to the policemen, I felt tears in my eyes. We were safe. “Oh god,” Damian said as he wrapped his hands around me.

“We still need to get out of here.” Rose urged as the policemen motioned us to follow them. As we walked to the front of the house, I noticed policemen breaking into Jace's house. What I didn't notice was Jace standing by the window.

“Run!” one of the policemen shouted at us. Damian was running, pulling me along. I only realized what was going on when I heard the constant shooting.

It was Jace. He was shooting everywhere. Dean, Damian, and I hid behind the police cars, breathing heavily. The shots soon stopped and we heard struggling.

  Wait.

  Where is Rose?

“Rose?” I called out, standing up. The policemen had already neutralized Jace. I got away from the car and my mouth dropped open when I saw Rose, lying on the grass, blood flowing from her shoulder.

“Someone get an ambulance!” I shouted as I ran towards my best friend. I fell on my knees next to her. Damian and Dean were soon next to me.

  “Shit,” Dean said.

I could hear the policemen talking rapidly on their walkie-talkies. Rose clenched her jaw. I took her hand in mine, making her groan. I quickly let it go. I could hear Jace yelling as the policemen walked by us, directing him to the car. He was handcuffed. When he noticed that Rose was hurt, he smiled proudly.

“At least I got one of you,” he said, rather proudly.

  Bam.

I smiled when a punch landed on his face. Dean breathed in relief as he turned to look at us, his hand soothing the other. The policemen pulled a nearly unconscious Jace into the car.

“I needed to do that,” he said.

Rose chuckled, then groaned. One of them ran to us and put his hand on her shoulder.

“It's going to be fine,” the policeman told Rose in a reassuring voice.

“God, is that you?” Rose asked looking at the man. I laughed. “I saw an angel, Athena,” she told me, making the policemen laugh this time. Even in this sort of situation, Rose managed to be her usual self. The ambulance soon arrived, and Dean and Damian helped the cops place her in it. Damian joined me once they were done. He wrapped his arms around me, in a tight hug. I finally breathed in relief.

  It was finally over.

  This whole nightmare was over.

  Chapter 70

  Love

A week had already gone by since the kidnapping. I was sitting in bed, next to my boyfriend who was caressing my belly. My baby was in good health. Damian bent his head and lightly pecked my tummy, making me chuckle a little bit as I was ticklish.

“You're so beautiful,” Damian whispered as he rested his head on my lap. I smiled and played with his hair.

“You're not bad either,” I said, shaking my head. “No. In fact, you're extremely sexy,” I told him, then pretended to fan myself. Yes. He was extremely sexy with his messy hair and manly face. I leaned over and pecked his rosy lips. I pulled away and watched as he closed his eyes and smiled. He opened them again, letting me see his beautiful gray eyes. I sighed. I thought I would have enough of his eyes one day but it didn’t seem possible.

“I need to tell you something,” Damian said suddenly, his smile still brightening his face. It was so contagious that I smiled along.

“Go on,” I told him. He quickly sat up, then sat in front of me. He took my hands in his. That smile on his face was everything.

“I've been wanting to tell you that for a while now,” Damian said, making me grin.

“Then tell me already.” I urged, making him chuckle.

“You've always been so impatient,” he told him.

He turned so that he was now resting his back against the bed post. He pulled me on his lap so I was straddling him. I rested my forehead against his. His gray eyes were so hypnotizing. “I still remember when you took off your mask while I was buried inside of you,” he said huskily. “I was so amazed by your beauty.” I knew that my cheeks had turned red by then. “At that moment, I knew you were dangerous. Your eyes were enough to have me under your spell, Athena,” he said as he put his hand on my cheek. I could feel my eyes tearing up. I was about to say something but he quickly shook his head. “I need to tell you something,” he said.

  “Go on.”

“I love you, Athena. I've fallen in love with you,” he said, a smile still adorning his face. My eyes widened. Damian just told me the words that I've always wanted to hear. Without waiting another second, I crashed my lips against his. He groaned against my lips. He pulled away to look at me with a frown on his face. “You didn't say it back,” he said.

I laughed and shook my head.

“I love you, Damian Spears!” I exclaimed.

He lost no time in crashing his lips against mine again. He bit on my lower lip, making me moan. He took off my top, leaving me in my bra and shorts. He was already shirtless. I pulled away to look at him. I unconsciously licked my lips as my eyes skimmed his tattooed self. He buried his face in the crook of my neck and sucked on my skin, making me moan again. His hands slowly made their way to the back of my bra and he unclasped it. Soon it was off and was thrown somewhere in the room. Damian stopped his attack on my neck and kissed his way to my nipple. I arched my back when he lightly pecked it. I could feel Damian growing under me.

“You're so beautiful,” Damian said, taking one of my nipples in his mouth.

I bit my lips to stop myself from moaning out loud. Damian turned us around so I was now lying on my back with him between my legs. I hooked my toes in his boxers and pushed it down his legs. He chuckled and pulled away from me to take off both his boxers and my shorts. He stood in front of me, in all his naked glory, giving me an amazing view. Damian slowly walked back to me, getting on the bed and caressing my legs, making goosebumps rise on my skin. He kissed my skin slowly, making his way up. I wanted him right now.

“Fuck me already, Damian,” I said, sounding quite breathless.

Damian smirked as he hovered over me. He pecked my forehead then took my wrists in one of his hands. He placed them above my head and licked his lips as he stared at me.

“I love you,” Damian said and thrusted inside of me, making me moan at the pleasure and the pain. He was so big. He kissed me as he started moving. Damian groaned slightly as he moved inside of me. I struggled against his hand. Once he let go of them, I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him even closer. “You're so tight,” Damian said next to my ear. He increased his pace, making me thrash around.
My nails dug in his skin. I knew he was close as he thrusted in and out faster.

“Damian,” I moaned when I felt him twitch inside of me. He grabbed my face, making me look at him in the eye.

“Say my name again.” He demanded as he thrusted in me roughly, making me yelp in pleasure. I could feel my stomach clenching.

“Damian,” I said, making him thrust one more time inside of me. We both exploded in pleasure. He stayed inside of me, not moving. We were both breathing heavily. Damian pecked my forehead as he pulled away to look at me.

“Are you okay?” Damian asked, pushing my hair away from my face. I smiled and nodded.

“I am,” I said and winced when he pulled out of me to lie next to me.

“Still good?” he asked, chuckling. I nodded, letting him pull me into his arms.

“I love you,” I said, yawning.

“I love you too,” Damian said and pecked the side of my head.

  Chapter 71

  Surrounded

“Your belly has grown even bigger,” Alena said as she stared at me.

I rolled my eyes. It hadn't. I stared at my belly and did notice the little baby bump. But it wasn't that big. I sat on her couch and yawned. I was currently spending some time with my sister at her place. Damian and Dean were both working and Alena and I decided that it would be nice to spend some time together. It has already been two months since the kidnapping happened.

“How's your life as a wife going?” I asked. The smile on her face said it all. She was happy. I smiled back.

“I love him,” she simply said. “Yeah, we do have fights but it's kinda normal in a marriage,” Alena told me.

  I nodded.

“What about you? No wedding planned?” she asked, and I quickly shook my head.

“No. Not for now,” I said as I rested my head on the little pillow next to me.

The knocking on the door made Alena jump slightly in surprise.

“Why would they knock when there's a doorbell?” she mumbled to herself as she stood up and walked to the door.

I chuckled slightly at how annoyed she appeared. Alena opened the door and a smile crept on my face when I saw Thomas's little face. Jeff and Celina walked in, holding his little hands in theirs.

“Hey little boy!” I exclaimed as I sat properly. Thomas quickly ran to me and wrapped his arms around me. He seemed so much better. I made a wise decision by sending him to Jeff and Celina. “How are you?” I asked him as he settled next to me.

  “I'm fine,” he told me.

I could see happiness gleaming in his eyes.

  “And you?” he asked.

  “I'm fine too,” I said.

I stood up and greeted Celina and Jeff.

“So, is there something new you wanted to tell me?” I asked Thomas as I sat down again.

“Annie is my girlfriend,” he said slowly. I could notice his cheeks turning red as he stared down at his nails. I chuckled.

“Oh that's nice!” I said, chuckling. He looked so shy.

I spent the rest of day with Thomas, Alena, Jeff, and Celina. Celina kept giving me advice on how to deal with my pregnancy. I walked outside and sat by the pool with Celina next to me.

“You seem so excited for us,” I told her as she smiled brightly at me. Celina nodded and smiled at me.

“I never had the chance to give birth,” she said as she stared at me. I could see the sadness in her eyes but she was masking it with a smile. The frown on my face showed her I was confused.

“Damian and Dean were both adopted.” She explained. My eyes drifted to the water in the pool. Damian never told me. I didn't know how to feel about it.

  “I didn't know,” I said softly.

“Damian doesn't like talking about it.” I nodded. I dropped the topic and turned to look at Celina.

“He doesn't like opening up about his feelings,” I said. But he did open up to me.

“Celina!” Jeff called. She turned to look at her husband. “Come here,” he said.

  She nodded.

“I'll join you later,” I told her.

Celina stood up and walked away. I stayed by the pool and took a deep breath. I was missing Damian. The fact that he didn't tell me he was adopted didn't bother me. Because it wouldn't change a thing. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and dialed his number. He answered right away.

“Hey love,” he said through the phone.

I closed my eyes, appreciating his beautiful voice.

“I miss you,” I said quickly.

I heard him take a deep breath.

“I'm coming home,” he said quickly, making me chuckle.

  “I'm not home.”

  “Where are you?” Damian asked.

I could hear shuffling in the background. I could also make out Dean's voice.

  “At Alena's,” I said.

“Dean, I'm going to pick up Athena at your house.” I heard Damian say.

  “Your parents are here.”

“Mom and Dad are at home.”

I could not hear properly but I knew that Dean was talking to him. “We're coming in a few,” Damian finally said. I smiled.

“I'm waiting,” I told him, my voice turning husky. I knew he would quickly detect the change in my voice.

“Wait for me outside. I'm taking you out for dinner,” he said suddenly.

“I'm wearing sweatpants and a crop top.”

“Still sexy as hell,” Damian whispered into the phone.

“Still not wearing that for dinner,” I mumbled. He chuckled. Ah. His Sexy chuckle. It would always make me smile.

“We'll go home first, then dinner. Good?” he asked. I nodded my head, then quickly face palmed myself when I realized that I nodded on the phone. Damian knew too because he laughed.

“Yes. I nodded on the phone. And yes, that's good,” I quickly said, making him laugh even more.

“I'll see you in a few, sweetheart.”

  “Yeah.”

“And,” he quickly said before I could end the call. “I love you.” My eyes closed and a smile spread on my face. I would never get enough of hearing him say those three words.

“I love you, Damian.” I ended the call and stared at the water again. I love him so much. I was so lucky to have all these caring and loving people in my life. I put my hand on my belly and caressed it lightly. My baby was in there. Damian's baby was in there.

  Our baby was in there.

I knew that when he'd grow up, he'd be surrounded by good people. I knew that he would grow up in a good environment. I knew that he would be happy.

  Chapter 72

  Perfection

I was standing in front of the mirror, getting ready for our date when I remembered something. I put on my lipstick and let my eyes drift to Damian who was sitting on the couch and watching me get ready.

  “What's wrong?”

“What?” I asked as I turned to look at him.

He stood up and walked to me, a frown on his beautiful face.

“You're thinking about something,” he said, leaning to peck my cheek. “What is it?” he asked as he pulled away to look at me.

I gulped. I wanted to tell him but what if that ruins his mood for the rest of the night? I rolled my lips on my mouth and shrugged.

“Nothing's wrong,” I said, standing on my tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek. He pulled away and rested his forehead against mine. I sighed as I knew that he was not going to let it go.

“Come on. Tell me,” Damian whispered.

I looked at him. His gray eyes sparkled as he stared at me.

“Why didn't you tell me you were adopted?” I asked.

The question didn't seem to annoy him. He simply shrugged and put his hands on my waist, his forehead still resting against mine.

“Because it is not important,” Damian said with a smile. “Adopted or not, Celina and Jeff are my parents. They are the one who were always there for me. Does it change anything between us?” he asked, making me scoff.

>   “Of course not,” I told him. “Now take me to that date. I'm hungry,” I said with a pout.

He smiled and kissed my cheeks again.

“You're always hungry lately,” Damian told me.

“I'm eating for two!” I exclaimed and watched as he laughed.

We both started walking out of the room.

“It's not good to blame everything on the pregnancy.” Damian teased from behind me. I turned to glare at him, only to be glared at. “You have high heels on. Watch where you're walking. What if you fall down?”

I stopped walking and waited for him to reach my side. We both walked down the stairs. I didn't say anything because I knew he was right. If something happened to my baby, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. As we walked out of his house, I felt him tug slightly on my hand.

“Yeah?” I said as I looked at me.

  “You look beautiful,” Damian said.

I bit my lips to stop myself from smiling like a creep. I was wearing a long red dress and my hair was loose on my shoulder.

  “Thank you.”

“I love the fact that I can still make you blush.” Damian chuckled. We walked to the car.

“You're the only one who can make me blush,” I told him as he opened the door to the passenger seat for me.

He quickly leaned and stole a kiss from me before I could get in the car. With a dreamy sigh, I sat in the passenger seat and watched as he closed the door. I bit my lips when my eyes skimmed the tattoos on his forearms. He had his sleeves rolled up so I could have a fine view of his tattoos. He walked to the driver side and slid in the door.

“I was thinking about something,” Damian told me as he started the engine.

“You? Think? Really?” I asked tauntingly. Damian rolled his eyes but a smile still crept on his face.

“Fine. I'm not going to tell you then,” he said, making my eyes go wide.

“Damian, you're twenty-eight.” I pointed out in disbelief.

  “And you're mean,” he retorted.

We both laughed when we realized how childish he sounded.

“I was thinking about how cute our baby is going to be,” he finally said.
