“Stubborn ass.” Jude smiled behind the kiss he planted on Rowan’s lips. He turned Rowan around and scooped him up from behind, spooning them. He made sure Rowan’s bad shoulder was arranged comfortably while Jude tried to balance his oversized body on the outside edge of the couch. He’d wait until the post-coital nap wore off, then try to put Rowan to bed again.
“Is me being a stubborn ass going to be a problem?” Rowan murmured sleepily, snuggling into Jude’s body.
“Hasn’t been so far.” Jude nuzzled another kiss into the back of Rowan’s fragrant neck.
“I want this to work. Us.”
Jude heard the anxiety in Rowan’s voice. “I do, too, Ro.” He tightened his arms around Rowan. “Let’s take it one day at a time, okay?”
“That sounds good,” came the thick answer, followed by a soft snore.
Jude smiled against Rowan’s hair. He intended to have Rowan Muir in his life for as many days as he could.
