Chandler kissed her, not ever wanting her to feel hesitant when it came to sharing her feelings.

“Okay.” Moving to the side of the bed, Chandler stood and unbuckled the harness. She let it fall to her feet.

Just as she was about to extinguish the light, she saw a tear slip down Sarah’s face.

“Hey,” Chandler said, wiping it away gently. “We have all the time in the world.”

“I know,” Sarah said. “It’s knowing that…it makes me feel so good. So…okay with everything. I never thought I would be here at this moment. I never thought I could trust someone or even trust myself. It’s—all of it—it’s incredible. And overwhelming.”

Chandler sat next to her and held her hand. “You are truly amazing, do you know that? Your courage and your strength. Even your fear. I’m amazed by you, Sarah Monroe. And intrigued and in awe…and in love.”

  Sarah smiled.

  “I love you too.”

They kissed, slowly and softly and then Sarah spoke again. “Turn off that light, Dr. Brogan. Eternity starts now.”
