“Because you’re on our territory here and she has no proof that we found you on Branal territory. She won’t do anything until she has that. There is an accord between our people she doesn’t want to break.” Isaac smiled. The Gargoyle didn’t want to break it either. From what he’d seen, the Branal could dispatch the Appari with ease, plus they could reclaim the souls from the Appari and return them.
He stopped at the gates and waited for the men in the gatehouse to recognize them. It opened and he drove through.
Chapter Five
Naomi walked stiffly beside the two men up to a two story rock house. She didn’t want to admit it, but the Agali had been right. While that thing held her, she’d wished she’d had her knife. If she’d had it, she wouldn’t have had any energy pulled out of her.
Anger thrummed through her. It focused both on herself and the Agali. She’d like to believe that the Agali had the wrong attitude or that the woman said those things because she didn’t like Naomi’s family. In truth, the Agali had that attitude about every female. They should be able to take care of themselves. And she didn’t seem to care who liked her.
The entryway of their home had a closet near the front door. A thin side table sat up against one wall. Isaac dropped the keys in a bowl there, but Neil moved immediately to pick them up. She grimaced.
Well, there went an easy way out of here. She’d hoped that if they ever left her alone that she could take the keys and leave. She didn’t know if she’d make it past those gates, but she wouldn’t stop until she returned to her normal life.
“Can’t make it easy, or you won’t see that you’re meant to be with us for a while.” Neil put the keys in his pants pocket.
She noted which pocket. He’d take those off at some point. She hoped he didn’t put them up somewhere when she took her eyes off him. If she couldn’t get those keys, she needed to call someone and get creative about leaving this gated community. They meant to deter people with the brick wall that surrounded this community. It stood at least eight feet high. Maybe more, she couldn’t get a good comparison from the car as they drove in.
“I don’t plan on seeing that at all.” She gave him a sweet smile.
“I plan on seeing quite a lot from you.” Isaac unbuttoned his shirt. He didn’t take it off.
She stared at the gaping shirt. His chest gleamed golden in the overhead light. She clenched her fist to stop from reaching out to touch him. They’d taken her from the theater because they believed she was their mate. She belonged with the Branal, not with the brutish Gargoyle.
Her family had an engagement in mind for her. She wouldn’t mess that up by giving in to some primitive urges engendered by a rush of hormones and closeness to them. In spite of her body’s reaction to them, she couldn’t be their mate.
“I can smell your desire rising even though you’re fighting it. How long do you think you’ll be able to resist touching us? We won’t walk away and leave you alone in the room. We want everything with you,” Neil said.
“I don’t have to touch you.” She pressed her lips together.
It might not be the truth. As she stood in the same room with them, she ached to get closer to them. She didn’t understand it. They weren’t good for her. She wanted to live her life with the Branal.
“Your body doesn’t agree with your mind, does it?” Isaac asked. “Does it want us to undress you completely this time? Or would you like to undress us? I’d like to feel your hands all over me as you take off my clothes.”
Couldn’t he shut the fuck up? She did not need those images popping into her head. Now that he’d said it though, she couldn’t stop thinking. She did want to take off his clothes. Her palms tingled as she imagined running her hands all over that broad defined chest. She let her gaze fall to his pants. Those needed to go.
“You wouldn’t react so strongly if you weren’t our mate. If we weren’t yours.” Neil walked toward her.
She tensed, but couldn’t back away from him. She leaned toward him. Biologically, she knew he told the truth. The attraction and lust wouldn’t be as strong if they weren’t the men nature had selected as her mates. She didn’t have to accept them though.
“Do you think we’ll let you ignore us and this?” Isaac stepped up beside her. “Do you know that our bodies are igniting as much as yours is? Ever since I scented you in that tiny office, my cock has been hard.”
They were too close now. Well, her attitude sort of bit her in the ass this time. She should have remained silent and waited to leave until she had an opportunity. Even if she had time to plan, she hardly ever sat back and waited.
Her mouth ran away from her. Perhaps the tight control she maintained in school and at her job contributed to that. Her thoughts locked on the word “job.”
Fuck. She’d lose that job if she couldn’t get away from these two soon. Damn, that decision to go to the theater screwed up her life.
“Why don’t we sit down? We can talk. I think you said something about school.” Isaac gestured to a room just off of the foyer.
She nodded, keeping her mouth shut with effort. Snide words about how they messed with all of that swirled through her mind. She’d lose everything if she stayed with them. As she paced into the room, she let her gaze sweep over the furnishings.
A big, black leather couch dominated the room. One of the biggest televisions she’d ever seen hung on the wall. Flanking and beneath that, shelves held electronics, books, and media. A mahogany coffee table sat in front of the couch. A tablet sat on the corner of it near a black mug. Two plush brown leather chairs sat angled toward the television.
On one of the side walls, a big rock fireplace promised warmth on the cold, windy winter nights. The walls had been painted a golden cream color, but the light tone didn’t detract from the overall masculine feel of the room.
“On the couch. You don’t think that we plan to sit across from you, do you? We want to be close.” Neil gestured to the sofa.
She sighed and shook her head. He wasn’t a subtle man. She’d met him tonight, but already he seemed inclined to give orders. She wondered what he did, and if his job involved giving orders. Isaac took the seat near the end. With a big sigh to show how much they irritated her, she eased onto the middle cushion.
They wouldn’t talk for long. She’d ended up almost naked and smacked around by that Appari the last time she ventured this close to them. The attack sent shudders ripping down her spine. She hadn’t known anyone had found Appari in the area.
“You said you studied to save lives. What do you study?” Isaac asked.
“I’m studying to be a nurse. I also have a job and friends. Things I plan to do. Things I need to do. You know, a life.” She folded her arms across her chest. The thought of losing progress on her career made her angry.
Isaac chuckled, but sobered. “There’s no need to point that out. We know that you have dreams and goals. You’ll have almost everything that you had there, here. It might take us a little time to fix everything.”
“I don’t want it here. I want my life with my friends as I choose it.” She shook her head.
She inhaled and drew in a spicy musk. She didn’t know which one that alluring fragrance belonged to, or if it somehow mixed. That scent went straight to her head. She’d known that talking wouldn’t last long, but she thought she’d last more than a couple sentences. When she’d imagined it, she’d pictured them kissing her and distracting her, not her losing control sitting beside them.
“But mating isn’t something any of us choose. No one knows who’s right for them until we feel that pull.” Isaac put his hand on her leg.
The heat of his hand seared through the thin fabric of her dress. She’d have wear something a lot thicker than this lightweight cloth to blunt the feel. He wasn’t trying to generate heat. His body ran hotter than a human. Damn, that drew her almost as much as his scent. She wanted to snuggle right up to him and feel that warmth seeping into her.
“But I don’t thin
k you two are right for me.” She shook her head.
“Aren’t we?” Neil reached over and touched her arm. “Has your body ever burned for anyone else the way it burns for ours?”
Not even close. She didn’t like them right now and she could feel her body softening toward them. A frown pulled at her lips as frustration built inside her. The two men sat one on each side. She couldn’t decide which to snuggle against.
“We’re not denying what we want. If you’d like, you can touch a little,” Isaac said.
“That’s what got me into trouble before the Appari bitch slapped me and tried to kill me.” Naomi looked at him and shook her head. She wouldn’t fall for the same thing all over again.
Isaac grinned. “It was such an enjoyable trouble aside from the Appari. I loved the way you tasted and how your breasts felt pressed against my chest. The only thing that would have been better would be to have you completely naked, and in a place where we could enjoy you.”
She closed her eyes as her mind locked on the idea of their mouths at her breasts. Her nipples tightened to aching peaks. She wanted their touch.
“What do you do?” She thought they’d finished college some time ago. They were both older than her. Considering they were Gargoyles, they could be much older than her.
“I work in the offices of Gar-corp, I’m one of the newer people in the marketing department.” Neil smiled.
“I’m with Stone Security Company. I work on the jobs for the most part, although Dante’s constantly threatening to put me in management.” Isaac grinned.
“And you don’t want to be in management?” Naomi frowned. Most people wanted to advance into a higher position.
“Not on a permanent basis. I’d go out of my mind if they stuck me in the office like some of the managers.” He shrugged.
“Do all of the managers stay in the office or do some of them do jobs?” She frowned. He’d said some. She didn’t see why he couldn’t do the work and have the active role he wanted. Someone had to be in charge on sight.
He frowned. “No, not all of them.”
“Then why would you be stuck in the office? I’m sure your bosses know you.” She glanced at him. Why it seemed important to her, she didn’t know.
He paused for a moment. “I’ll have to talk to them about it. Can I give you a thank you?”
She licked her lips. She knew what he asked. Damn, she wanted it though. Her eyes locked on his lips. She drew in a shaky breath. Bad idea. She shouldn’t kiss him.
“I…yes.” She nodded.
She turned toward him. He drew his hand over her cheek. She tilted her head into the touch. He leaned close. He brushed his lips back and forth over hers. She’d expected an immediate thrust of his tongue and a deep intimate kiss. The soft press of his lips surprised her and made her want more.
When his tongue pressed for entrance, she opened for him. He tasted wild and hot. She swore she smelled a storm and ozone in the air as she leaned into him. The kiss deepened. His arms wrapped around her.
She leaned into him, returning the fervor. The thrust of his tongue turned lazy. His hand ran over her arms and over her back. His lips eased away from hers. She turned her head to regain that contact. He straightened away from her.
“That was a wonderful thank you. It’s the way it should always be.” Isaac brushed his fingers over her cheek.
Hell, no. He would not sit across from her after that kiss. She frowned and clutched at his shoulders. Conflict raged within her. Her mind urged her to thrust him back.
He’d planned this. He knew how her body would react. She wanted him close regardless of what he’d done. What should I do? She held onto him as she thought.
Isaac drew his fingers down her arm. “Is there a problem, Naomi?”
She stared at him as he pulled back. Part of her insisted she should call a halt to this before she lost control. The other part of her didn’t want him to stop touching her. She stroked her hand over his chest, unable to pull back. It was sex, simple, but hotter than she’d ever experienced.
On the other hand, this could work in her favor. If she exhausted them, they’d go to sleep. She’d have a chance to get out of this place. If necessary, she’d climb over that wall and call for help. She wouldn’t let them change her life.
“I think I need to thank you for that kiss.” She edged closer. She drew her hand over his chest and up to his cheek.
He remained still, but his eyes sharpened. She had no idea what thoughts ran through his mind, but she wanted to rip away his ability to think. He might suspect she planned something, but he seemed to want this as much as she did.
She leaned in and brushed her lips across his in a slow tease. His arms slipped around her waist and he pulled her into his lap. Oh, yeah, that was a great start.
She pressed her tongue against his lips before she scraped her teeth over the full lower curve in a deliberate demand for more intimacy. The man waited for her to make the first move. She hadn’t expected that.
His mouth opened. She didn’t need any more invitation than that. Her tongue swept inside. She deliberately thrust her tongue against his in an aggressive claiming. She knew that someone as dominant as him wouldn’t back away from the challenge. He wouldn’t let her lead for long. Not to mention that the hot kiss would incite the man behind her. Her fingers threaded into his hair, pulling him closer. She hoped the embrace affected him as much as it did her.
He groaned and his tongue drove into her mouth. His arms tightened. The kiss became claiming and aggressive. His teeth scraped every time he drew back, as if he wanted to show her she had more than a tame human on her hands tonight. The sharp tips of his canines scraped, but the slight sting sent a thrill straight through her.
His hands slid down to her waist, lifting her. Her lips slid away from his. At first, she thought he meant to put her away from him. She clutched at his shoulders. She wanted more of him.
“Straddle me, baby. I want to feel your pussy pressing against my cock.” He held her above him, his grip strong and sure.
She straddled his hips. Her knees pressed into the cushions on either side of his thighs. He pulled her tight to him until the hardened ridge pressed against her mound. The thick length tempted her. She wanted to feel it without the layers of clothes between them.
“Now, kiss me again. Torture me with each wriggle and strain of your body.” He whispered the words against her cheek.
She wanted that. She pressed her lips to his. Before she could deepen the kiss, his tongue thrust into her mouth in open demand. She responded eagerly, falling into the kiss. The ache in her belly tightened. She ran her hands over his chest, slipping her hands between them to flick open the first of the buttons down his shirt. She wanted to feel his skin as she pressed against him.
Her fingers worked the buttons free halfway down his shirt before he eased back from her. She gasped. She inched her fingers beneath the v of his half open shirt. Her fingers smoothed over his muscled chest. The heat of his skin drew her. She knew why. The fire within him called to her. Her hands roamed, but the confines of the fabric irritated her. She wanted to explore.
“If you’re going to take off my shirt, I want to open your dress. I want to feel the press of your hard nipples against me and taste those tightened buds.” Isaac began working on the front closure of her dress.
Chapter Six
Naomi used the space to finish unbuttoning his shirt. She pulled the tails from his pants and pushed the fabric wide and down his arms. She drew her fingers across the flat discs of his nipples. Without a thought, she leaned down and swiped her tongue over the hardened nub. He groaned. His hands moved to her shoulders, lifting her mouth away from his chest.
“You’re not even close to hot enough to handle what you’re courting. Get me too hot and you’ll have a wild Gargoyle on your hands.” He pushed the fabric of her dress wide and eased it down her arms. He had to pull her arms down before he could tug it completely off. “I don’t want this in
the way of my mouth.”
Once she heard the word mouth, she relaxed and let him push the fabric down to her waist. Her bra came off next. The garment sailed across the room. She didn’t care where it landed.
“Lean back against Neil. He’ll hold you while I give these a little attention.” Isaac drew his fingers across the hardened tips, rubbing back and forth.
The teasing brush seared through her. Moisture gathered between her thighs. She rocked her hips wanting more than the pressure of his cock against her. She wanted something inside her, preferably the thick length of his cock.
She relaxed back against the hard body behind her. She looked up when hands settled on her shoulders. He stared down at his. His brown eyes burned with heat. Surprise bubbled through her. She’d thought he might join them. The idea of both men making love to her thrilled her, although she didn’t know how it would work. She remembered the sheer pleasure when they’d both touched her out on the beach.
Isaac leaned toward her. Hot breath feathered over her breasts. She gasped as his mouth hovered over on taut nipple. Moist air puffed across the tip, teasing her. She licked her lips. His lips brushed back and forth for a moment. Damn, he knew how to drive a woman insane. Finally, his mouth opened over the nipple.
Her pussy clenched as his tongue drug across the stiff peak. She pressed against the ridge of Isaac’s cock as a rush of juices slid from her.
“Someone likes that.” Neil’s voice rumbled against her back. “Her sweet scent of cream and nutmeg just increased.”
She blushed as the words hit her, but the embarrassment didn’t lessen her passion. She threaded her fingers into Isaac’s hair and tried to pull his mouth closer. She wanted him to suck, nibble, and nip. The excitement rose becoming more demanding with each moment.
“Oh yeah, baby, you were made for this, for us.” The rumble of Isaac’s voice against her breast sent a shiver down her back. “And it’s cinnamon.”
