Chapter 1
Drew
Zack grumbled something I couldn't quite make out. When I looked over at him across the small apartment, he was sitting cross legged on the couch, glaring at his laptop like it had kicked a puppy. For a moment, I just leaned against the kitchen counter and watched him with an eyebrow raised.
When he started grumbling at it again, I spoke up. "What's wrong this time? Someone screw with your code again?" Zack worked as a computer programmer and spent many nights and days growling at his computer when something wasn't working the way it was supposed to. But I hadn't thought he had anything to work on tonight, hence the confusion about what was bugging him.
"No, not this time." Zack sighed and leaned back against the couch. He closed his eyes and started massaging his temple with his right hand. "This trip to Texas is going to end up costing us a small fortune. Between the flight, the hotel, and food, we're basically looking at all of our savings going bye bye."
Ah, so that's what he'd been doing for the last hour and a half. Planning for the wedding. "Well, if we don't go, Josh is liable to drive out here just to murder the both of us. There's no way we can just blow off his wedding. You only get married once. At least, I hope he only gets married once."
Zack sat up straight. Then he looked over at me and grinned. His eyes sparkled, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to know what genius idea he'd come up with this time. Usually that look meant we were in for some big-time trouble. Like that time him, Josh, and I had all snuck out and TP'd Principal Collin's house sophomore year. Or junior year when he'd decided to do a cannon ball into his pool from his roof.
Whatever Zack was planning, there was bound to be some chaos involved.
"Why don't we drive out instead of flying? Most of the cost is coming from the flight. It'd save each of us a chunk of change since we could split the gas out there."
The way Zack looked at me, I knew he'd already made up his mind. And with the way he put it, driving out there would make more sense financially. There was no way I was going to miss Josh and Carla's wedding, but I really didn't want to completely drain my savings account just to go. I'd already had to put out a pretty penny when I'd blown a tire two weeks ago.
So, with a sigh, I nodded. "Okay, I guess we could do that. How long is it going to take to get out there?"
Zack frowned and turned back to his computer. He had his tongue between his lips, his patented look when he was thinking about something. Girls always thought it was cute, I just thought it made him look like he was still six. After a bit of typing, he looked back up at me. "About twenty-three hours, if we got the way Google Maps suggests. We'd have plenty of places we could stop on the way, too, without being in the middle of Bumfuck."
Well, that didn't sound too bad. If we broke it up over a couple days and split the driving, we could do that easily, especially if there were decent places to stop each night on the way out there. And it would certainly beat the headache of going through airport security and dealing with layovers and all the other bullshit that always accompanied flying. Sure, it'd take longer, but it'd been a while since we'd had more than a weekend vacation.
Between being able to work remote and our actual vacation days, we could do it with no issues.
So, why the hell not?
"Okay, let's drive then," I said, smiling at him. For once, he'd had a “genius idea” that was actually pretty genius. And most likely wouldn't land one of us in the hospital or jail.
Hopefully.
I went over and joined Zack on the couch as we decided on the details for our trip. Did we want to rent a car or drive one of ours? Did we want to stop along the way or just drive straight through? Did we want to do anything else while we were out in Texas, with full access to a car at any time? There were a million questions that we had to find answers to. And with the wedding coming up soon, we needed to hammer out all the details now.
We decided to take Zack's car, since it was newer and renting one wouldn't be much cheaper than flying out, especially once we factored in gas and insurance. We'd take a couple days to make the drive, stopping to see some sights along the way, maybe find a girl or two to help make the nights a bit more fun. We also had a list of bars and breweries in the area that we planned on hitting.
Josh was the one getting married and settling down -- not us.
We figured we might as well spend as much time drinking and having fun as God allowed us! The daily grind didn’t appeal to either one of us much. Rather, we preferred to vary things up as frequently as possible. It certainly made life a lot more fun!
I still hadn't figured out why Josh wanted to settle down. Sure, Carla was great and all, but why limit yourself to one girl for the rest of your life? Tying yourself down and taking on all the responsibility and pressure of a wife just sounded like a drag.
But hey, it was his life. If that was what he wanted, then Zack and I would support him. We'd just do it in our own manner. In this case, that meant a cross country road trip with the goal of partying and getting as wild as we could manage. It was a good thing both of us had jobs that would let us work remote for a while. That meant we could enjoy ourselves and take our time, rather than trying to rush there and back.
Oh yeah, this was going to be quite the trip.
"Don't forget to see what bars are near the hotels we'll be staying at during the drive out there," I reminded him. Going out and hitting the local scenes would probably give us better chances of a good time than just hanging out at the hotel bar. Not that I was going to discount that as an option, but I wanted to be prepared.
Zack nodded and grinned, opening another s
earch window. "Maybe if we're lucky we can have some real fun! Find a babe and tag team her. Or two babes and swap! Just think of all the possibilities we'll have!"
I couldn't help but laugh. It certainly wouldn't be the first time we'd had a threesome or a foursome or a fivesome. There wasn't much I'd say no to at this point, either. Zack and I had been best friends for what seemed like forever. There was nothing we didn't share with each other, including women on occasion.
Zack was in full planning mode today. He had multiple browser windows open, spreadsheets, and Word documents. He usually liked to be well prepared for everything, but today, he was kicking it into overdrive it seemed like! At the rate we were going, we'd have everything completely planned out by the end of the night. Which would leave us free to go hit the clubs here and celebrate.
Life is good when you're single!
Chapter 2
Zack
God, I couldn't wait to leave on the road trip out to Texas. Not that I was all that excited to go to Texas, but I'd spent so much time with Drew planning this trip, I was like a kid waiting for summer vacation. We'd looked at all the different bars, clubs, and breweries in the area and planned to hit the ones that looked like the most fun.
Because, fuck, if I was going to drive across the country to watch one of my best friends tie the knot with his girl, then I was going to make damn sure I made the most of it.
The wedding probably wouldn’t be super exciting, even if I was psyched to see Josh. His family was great, but not exactly party animals, and weddings in general are too stuffy and formal for my tastes. There was always the chance his wife-to-be would have fun friends or some smoking hot bridesmaids I could fool around with, but I wasn't going to bet my life on it. If there was one thing my father had taught me growing up, it was to always have a plan and a backup plan.
I'd spent the last few years of my life putting that into play when it came to getting as much action as I possibly could. So far, it hadn't failed me yet!
So, when it finally came time to load up the car, I was practically bouncing with excitement. It really did feel like I was a kid getting ready to head to Disney. Except my idea of fun wasn't riding roller coasters. I was planning on being the one ridden on this vacation!
"Got everything?" I asked when Drew walked out of the apartment. We had the back of my SUV loaded with our suitcases already. Our backpacks and snacks were all in the backseat in easy reach of whoever was in the passenger seat. We also had some booze stashed in the trunk as well, just in case.
You never know when you're gonna bring someone back to the hotel room for some partying!
Drew nodded, looking thoughtful. I could tell he was mentally going over his checklist as he walked. "I think so. We've got the important stuff, anyway. Anything else we can just pick up at a store along the way."
"Sounds good to me!" It sounded better than scouring the apartment for whatever mysterious item we were forgetting. Because, let's face it, there's always something you forget. "Let's get on the road then!"
Drew didn't need to be told twice. Practically before I blinked he was hopping into the passenger seat, ready to go. Judging by the grin on his face, he was just as excited about this as I was.
"First stop, Tucson!" I said, turning the car on and putting it in drive. Then, we were off!
The drive out of the city was Hell, but driving in San Diego was always some level of Hell. Once we were on the Interstate out of the city though, it was wide open roads. Well, not necessarily wide, so much as winding, but the point still stands. We were on the road to Pussyville!
We'd gone about two hours or so when we came across a rest area. Neither of us needed to go, but I figured it'd be a good chance to empty our bladders and stretch for a couple minutes. God only knew when the next rest area would be, and I really didn't fancy stopping at some podunk gas station in the middle of bumfuck unless I absolutely had to.
Besides, we weren't on a tight schedule or anything so there was no reason not to stop while we had the chance.
We were just coming out of the restrooms, joking about one thing or another when a woman stepped out in front of us. She had to be at least old enough to be our mother, but she was dressed like some of the girls at the clubs. Low cut tank top that showed off ample cleavage and shorts that were barely long enough to even be considered shorts. I had a feeling if she turned around and bent over, we'd be able to see her ass hole.
"Where you boys heading?" she asked, her voice low and seductive.
Drew and I looked at each other, eyebrows raised. Neither of us was opposed to a rest stop hookup, but it certainly hadn't been expected. Especially not from a woman old enough to be our mother. But, I had to admit, she wasn't bad looking for someone her age. If I'd seen her in a club, I probably wouldn't have thought twice about nailing her.
No, scratch that. If I'd been in a club, I'd have been at least half drunk. At that point, I'd have definitely nailed her.
"Heading to Texas," I replied, grinning at her. Maybe our Wild Ride was going to be getting underway sooner than I'd thought! Definitely not how I'd expected to kick things off, but I wasn't about to pass up a possible shot at getting laid. Even if it meant a threesome in the backseat of the SUV!
She walked over to me and ran a finger down my chest, setting her charm and seduction to the maximum. Clearly, she was looking to get laid, there was no doubt about that. "Feel like giving me a ride?" she asked, practically purring.
"Well, I've certainly got something you can ride." The words were out of my mouth before I knew it. Too much time in the clubs had me blunt and honest when it came to wanting a bit of action. The woman didn't seem put off by it though. If anything, her eyes lit up like it was Christmas morning. "In fact, I bet we both have something you could ride."
"Oh, I bet you big boys do." Her hand dropped to my crotch, grabbing my package and massaging it. It didn't take long at all before my cock was rock hard and ready for some action. "Think you boys can afford it? I charge extra for a threesome, you know."
In that moment, it was like a light bulb went off in my head. No wonder she was so eager to hook up with us and why she'd looked so excited when I'd flirted back from her. She wasn't just a horny woman looking to get plowed in the backseat of a rest area. She was a hooker, hoping to score big from two horny guys.
She probably spent her days going from rest area to rest area, screwing travelers and truckers. It wasn't a bad gig, I had to give her that, but I'd never paid for sex before, and I wasn't about to start now. It was easy enough to find free pussy. Why would I ever bother paying for it?
I took her hand off my crotch and smile at her. "Sorry, honey. We've gotta get back on the road. Better luck next time."
The woman glared at me like I'd just run over her dog, then backed up and did it again. Then, like it had never happened, she sidestepped to stand in front of Drew. "How about you, handsome? Feel like giving me a ride?"
When she reached out to caress him, Drew caught her wrist. He shook his head and smiled, trying to be as polite as possible. "Sorry. Not interested."
She yanked her arm out of his grip, then shot him a death glare of his own. Without another word to either of us, she stomped off, muttering curses under her breath. Damn, we'd definitely avoided a crazy one, it seemed, and I was eager to get the hell out of that place before she went slit our tires or some shit.
We waited until she was out of earshot, then turned to each other and burst out laughing. "Damn, we've only been on the road a couple hours and we've already had a hooker try to solicit us! Let's hope that's night a sign of how the rest of the trip is going to go!”
I didn't mind buying a girl some drinks or a meal if we were out on a date, but there was no way in Hell I was going to just give a woman cash to fuck me. Not in this lifetime, anyway!
We laughed all the way back to the car, more than ready to get back on the road. We still had a couple hours ahead of us, and we both wanted to be at the hotel in enough time to go h
it the bars.
This trip was going to rock.

"I can't believe some hooker tried to pick us up at a truck stop," Drew said as we drove down the highway.
I laughed and shook my head, still shocked at it myself. I'd been to plenty of rest stops over the years, but that was the first time a hooker had ever approached me. I'd heard stories about women who worked rest areas, hooking up with truckers to make quick cash, but I'd always assumed they were legends.
Apparently not!
"God, that was priceless. The look on her face when we caught on to what she was up to is one I'm never going to forget!" Even now I could clearly see the look of anger on her face, like we'd been leading her on the entire time then turned against her. It was crazy, but damn was it going to make for a good story. "Josh is going to flip his shit when we tell him about this!"
Already, I could see his face when we told him about this. He'd be pissed he hadn't been there with us! I wasn't sure his wife-to-be would find it as hilarious, but he sure would. And even though I wasn't going to pay a hooker for sex, I had to admit, it sure as hell made our road trip start off with a bang!
Just not a literal one in this case.
I rolled my shoulder, working out the kinks. We still had a ways to go today and I couldn't wait to see what else would unfold for us. I mean, really, what could top a truck-stop-hooker?
Well, I'm sure someone was topping her, but it definitely wasn't us.
Honestly, the whole thing wouldn't have been as funny if it'd happened later in the trip. The fact that it happened a couple hours into our first day on the road made it that much better. I really hoped that was a sign of things to come, because if it was, then we were in for some fun adventures!
"Wonder what'll be waiting for us at the next rest area," I said with a grin. "Maybe a guy in trench coat selling used panties? Or a raver trying to sell us some killer drugs!"
Drew hooted and hollered as he cracked up in the passenger seat. I couldn't really blame him either. I'd have been laughing harder if I wasn't the one driving. But as funny as I found all of this, I wasn't going to risk driving off the road!
