A Dangerous Love 5: No Love Lost Page 13

by J Peach

“I’m always careful with my shit so don’t worry about me. I gotda go talk to Britt.”

He is so damn stubborn I swear.

“Blaze, would you just listen to me—”

“I been listening, you don’t know shit about this, Peaches, so stop pretending you do ‘cause you don’t.” He snapped, pushing me away from him. God, I should’ve just let him go.

“Okay, so what are you going to do? Go out and find her then kill her? Is that your plan, Blaze?” I asked, pulling him back to me.

“Keep yo fuckin’ hands off me. Don’t worry about what the fuck I’mma do. I’m gon’ handle it, that’s all you need to know,” Blaze said.

I was over his fussing and bitchin’, this was serious to me. “You not gon’ keep snapping at me when all I’m trying to do is help. Okay, you’re right, I don’t know anything about this, not everything about your lifestyle. But what I do know is that she’s a minor, they weren’t supposed to interrogate her without a guardian or parent being there.

“Blaze, the bitch was ballsy enough to go up there— I think her plan was to scare Britt and knowing your recklessness, she counted on her not saying anything. Believe it or not, every girl will protect her brother no matter what. And that is exactly what Brittany thought she was doing by not telling you,” I tried to explain, but he cut me off.

“That’s not a fuckin’ reason. If anything, her dumbass should’ve told me. Peaches, they were following me if they got to her. Man, how the fuck I miss that? Damn!” He was pissed.

“Maybe if you kept your dick out that bitch mouth long enough, you would’ve noticed,” I mumbled, not intending on him hearing me, but of course he did and glared at me hard.

“It’s true, but now isn’t the time, I’m sorry. My point in this is that I doubt the girl took the tape from the school. Blaze, every high school has cameras at the entrance and the office, I’m pretty sure one of them got her, if not both. I can go to the school to get the tapes for you.

“Blaze, think, use your pockets. You have a lawyer, a judge, and cops you can use. Killing her isn’t going to solve anything, but you can at least get her suspended as well as make it so that the department can’t come nowhere near Britt again. Bae, you have to be smart about this. Please.”

There I was, begging him to be smart when I shouldn’t have even cared. Blaze going away would probably have made my life a hell of a lot better. “Blaze—”

“Shut the fuck up, I’m tryna think,” he snapped at me and I slapped him. “What I tell yo ass about putting yo fuckin’ hands on me?”

“Then don’t be yelling at me when all I’m tryna do is help.”

Staring at me for a few seconds, he jumped at me. “I’mma fuck yo ass up, real shit,” he said, making me roll my eyes.

“You always say that, but you ain’t gon’ do shit.” Laughing, Blaze muffed me. “Gon’ now, you play too much.”

“You smart, though. I’mma have Sam go up there Monday. I don’t want you in this, i’ight?” Blaze said as he pinched my tittie.

“That’s fine with me— Blaze, gon’, damn.” As I slapped his hand away from my breast, Blaze laughed and pulled me into him. “Blaze—”

“N’all, don’t do that, Peaches. Shid, don’t do this, man, we good together. You know that, so why you wanna stop fuckin’ with me?” Was he seriously asking me that?

“Blaze, why you think I’m doing this? Do you really think I don’t want to be with you?” I asked him. Yeah, it was stupid to even say that, but I couldn’t help it.

“Shid, I don’t know what the fuck you want. Yo ass letting niggas suck on you and shit. What the fuck you want me to think?”

Did that really just come out of his mouth? How is it that he could fuck up, but turn it around to make it seem like it’s me? He actually had me thinking it was my fault even though what I did was after we broke up.

“You can’t guilt me, Blaze. I love you and want more than anything to be with you, but I’m not gon’ be played nor disrespected. You stood there and told me you weren’t gon’ quit fuckin with ol’ girl. On top of that you have that bitch driving your car. I know what and who I want to be with. It’s you who don’t seem to know what the fuck you want, I’m just done trying with you. So can we stop bringing us up because I’m not changing my mind.” I meant every word that left my mouth.

Nodding, Blaze let me go. “I’ight, Peaches, do what you feel. Good lookin’ on this Britt thing, though.” He touched my chin and walked past me, but then he stopped and turned towards me. “Aye,” he called out to me with a smile as his eyes roamed over me before they locked with mine. “Yo titties getting big and yo ass looking thick. You look real good, Peach. I’ll be seeing you around.” Blaze licked his lips. With his smile still intact, he turned around and headed towards the parking lot.

I didn’t like the way he said that or the promising look in his eyes. That man was not going to leave me alone. Getting him out of my life wasn’t going to be easy.

  Not at all.

  ***

For the rest of the night Blaze kept his distance from me. Surprisingly, it was good, though. Krystal had left, which was smart of her. I was finally able to put the drama behind me for the time being, knowing that she wasn’t there anymore. Blaze keeping his distance, helped a lot too.

The cookout was finally over and we were cleaning up our area. Britt had left an hour ago in her new car, she couldn’t wait to get out of there to drive. Blaze had bought her a 2014 Dodge Charger SRT8. I couldn’t lie, I was kind of jealous of her car.

It was pretty, hot pink with two black strips going from the hood to the trunk. It had a set of JLine’s hot pink chrome SDMsl2 rims. It was really cute. To top it off he’d also bought her shoes and clothes. And he gave her spoiled ass money which was already in the car before turning around and giving her the five hundred I promised he’d give her.

Blaze had really outdone himself. For such a rough person he was sweet. He played the big, bad wolf with Britt, talked so much shit, but then turned around and did that.

Blaze was just like King’s ass. A sucker when it came to his sister. It was a good thing to know he had some red in that black heart of his.

We had done mostly everything, there wasn’t really anything left for them to do.

“Gon’ ‘head, Momma, I’ll finish this. All I have to do is throw these bags in the trash and get this stuff off the ground.” I shrugged. There were napkins, plates and cups all on the ground. Those folks acted like they didn’t know how to use the damn trashcans.

“Doesn’t your brother pay somebody to clean up around here?” Bianca asked and I nodded my head.

“Yeah, he usually has some crack heads cleanup for him. I guess I’ll leave that for them then. Well, let me throw this away and I’ll be ready to go. As soon as I get home I’m getting my butt under the bed and passing out,” I said while throwing away the trash I had already picked up.

“Girl, I hear you, that’s why I’m about to get my ass out of here.” Bianca grabbed her purse and keys off the table. “I’ll see you in the morning, sweetie, okay? You driving, so pick us up around nine, nine-thirty.” She hugged me which I gladly returned.

“Britt might be driving while you playing. Gas is too high, but I’ll be at yours in the morning.”

Bianca groaned, “Oh, lord, we going to die. That damn girl can’t drive. I might not be going then. Bye, Peaches.”

That lady is too dramatic for her own self.

Wiping my hands off on my shorts, I grabbed my ringing phone out of my pocket. Seeing it was Ebony, I answered. “What’s up, E?”

“Tell me you left the Rex already?” Ebony asked nervously, which had my brows furrowing.

“No, I’m about to leave now. Why, what’s up?” I asked again as I grabbed both mine and King’s plate.

“I just hung from him and he’s pissed—”

“Bitch, you didn’t tell him you left, did you? E, tell me you didn’t. Why would you even answer t
he phone?” Snapping at her, I looked around. When I didn’t see King, I started to speed walk to my car.

All of that shit I talked, but now that it was down to the wire, I was scared.

“Peaches, I didn’t mean to. I was laughing at something Angel said and answered the phone without looking. I was just going to hang up when I realized it was him, but he got to talking stupid about me not answering the phone and shit. I just went off, like really went off.

I told him I had left him and that the keys to both my house and his house, plus the car keys was on his pool table. It felt so good. Oh, my God, it felt so damn good to tell him I’m done and mean it,” Ebony expressed happily through the line.

My speeding came to a slow walk as I started to laugh at how excited she sounded. Hell, Ebony’s ass was even panting as she talked so I was guessing she had just got off the phone with King and had done a lot of yelling.

“Ebony, I’m proud of you. But damn, bitch, couldn’t you have waited until I was gone to go in on him? Now I’m going to have to deal with his crazy ass—” I stared saying, but Ebony cut me off with her lip smack. “Why you smacking yo lips?”

“Because, hoe, you was all ready to snap on him this morning. But now you scared? What kind of shit is that?” She questioned.

Putting the food in my car, I rolled my eyes as I balanced the phone on my shoulder while holding it to my ear.

“Now you know I was just talking shit. You know damn well I wasn’t gon’ try anything. Shid, Blaze can’t protect me no more,” I laughed, even though the statement was true.

“Yo punk ass, don’t be scared now, Peaches.” Ebony said, laughing into the other end.

“Hell yeah I’m a punk. Shid, I never said I was gon’ confront King by myself, only that I couldn’t wait to see him. That means that I couldn’t wait to see him with y’all with me because I know we can all jump his crazy ass. But no, E, you had to go pick at the bear with me in his zone. Like I said, Blaze can’t protect me and Bianca’s gone home.” I finally closed my passenger side door.

“I’m sorry, but he really pissed me off.” I could just imagine her pouting.

Letting out a heavy sigh, I ran a hand over my ponytail before looking up only to meet Blaze’s eyes.

  “Why are you being nosy?”

Blaze shook his head before looking away from me.

“Alright, E. I’m about to leave now, I’ll be there in a bit.”

  “Okay, Peach, bye.”

We hung up and I got in my car, starting it up. I put the car in reverse and I started to back out, but I hit brakes as a black truck suddenly came to a screeching halt behind me.

  “What the fuck?”

  Chapter 20

  Peaches

I threw the car in park before getting out. “What the hell? I could’ve fuck’d up my damn car!” I yelled as King got out of his truck, slamming the door. Where did he even come from?

“Where the fuck she at, Peaches?” King asked as he walked towards me.

“King, calm down. You brought this on yourself. Just let her be for now, she been through too much shit dealing with you and you didn’t even tell me. So just give her some time, if she comes back it’s what she wants. Ebony don’t need yo lying ass in her head right now,” I spoke truthfully, she really didn’t.

No matter how much she cussed him out or tried to leave, in the end she still loved him. King would always be that weak spot for her.

“Man, shut the fuck up, you don’t know shit. Peaches, I ain’t even bullshittin’ real talk. Where the fuck she at?” King was pissed, but I couldn’t help him because he wasn’t right for how he treated her.

“I don’t know, call her. Maybe she’ll tell you— Ahhh!” A loud scream left my mouth as he suddenly took hold of my forearm and slammed me against my car.

“Why the fuck you playin’ Peaches, damn. I done called, texted, and went by her crib. She ain’t answering no mo and she not at home. So stop fuckin’ playin’,” he snapped at me and I felt bad for him. But at the same time I was pissed.

King seemed really distraught which was why I felt bad as well as pissed. Why did it take her leaving to make him this way?

I pushed him away from me and moved around him. “King, move yo truck so I can go.”

He yanked me back hard by my shirt, “Peaches, I’m not fuckin’ playin’!”

“Let go of me! What the hell?” I jerked away from him.

“I’m not playing, she left, Peach,” he explained.

Once again I snatched myself away from him and I pushed King away from me.

“That’s yo fault she left. Why do you even care? I mean you got bitches you fuck with on a daily, so why you fuck’d up about her leaving?” I asked him, but he paid that no attention.

“Ebony at yo crib. Damn, Peach, that’s fuck’d up.” He turned to walk back to his truck.

I already knew where he was going. I quickly jumped in front of King and blocked him so he couldn’t get into his truck.

“King, you can‘t do that, not to her. Why do you even want her back? Huh? So you can fuck other bitches, lie to her, get her pregnant then cause her to have another miscarriage—” My face went left as a surprised gasp left my mouth. My hand went to my stinging cheek as I stared at a pissed off King.

“Did that make you feel better, huh? Does it piss you off to know while you out fuckin’ these hoes, your girl, the one you claim to love, is at home having yet another miscarriage, the third to be exact. Oh, but you didn’t know about that because you’re too busy and don’t have time for her. King, you hitting me because I’m being honest doesn’t make you bad, you’re a bitch just like Dmitri was.”

“Everything you fuck won’t have you like she did. I warned yo stupid ass that she was going to leave. I’m happy she did, now you can go be with Nikki. That is the bitch you were fuckin’ while my best friend was alone dealing with her loss. I hope you’re happy you’ve finally achieved losing the only other female beside me that actually cared about yo triflin’ ass.”

It was harsh, I know, but I was pissed and he needed to hear it. I would never sugarcoat shit when it came to Ha’Keem. He was that big, tough nigga who acted like nothing could hurt him, but King had two weaknesses in the world.

He pretended one didn’t exist. To the hood folks that knew him, his first weakness was me, the other one was Ebony. But he couldn’t help himself with her, he was Dmitri’s child.

“You a bitch and if you wasn’t who you are I’d kill yo dumbass. Now get the fuck out of my face,” King snapped, mugging me hard which I returned.

“I know what I am, King, but you shouldn’t pout, it makes you look like the fuckin’ dog you are. Now move your truck before I ram it.” I had no problem with ramming his truck with my baby. He’d fix whatever damages I caused to the both of our vehicles, that was just King. Pushing past him, I started walking to my car.

“You hit my truck I’mma fuck you up, Peaches.”

Ignoring him, I opened my car door about to get in, but stopped.

“King, yeah, Ebony’s at mine. Bring yo ass there if you wanna and I’m pissed off too. Come to my house. In fact, nigga, follow me there, yo key not gon’ work anyways. I’ll let you in, tho, so come on.

“Bitch gon’ slap me, follow me home.” That was every bit of a threat and his ass knew it. If King knew what was best for him, his ass wouldn’t follow me. I doubted he would because I was mad.

King usually gave me time to cool off before popping up, so we had about a day before he came beating down my door for Ebony.

I slammed my door and put my car in reverse just as Blaze tapped on my window. With a groan, I rolled it down. “What do you want, Blaze?” My attitude didn’t seem to faze him.

“That was some fuck’d up shit you said to him. If I was him, I would’ve beat yo ass,” Blaze said, leaning in the window.

“Good thing you’re not King. Blaze, what do you want?”

He didn’t say anything at first, he just star
ed. “Come spend the night with me. Once Britt’s party is over come to my place and stay with me.”

Staring at Blaze, my eyes roamed his face to see if he was playing. He wasn’t. Blaze was serious as hell. Realizing that he was serious, I started laughing.

“You done lost your damn mind. No. After everything I’ve said today, you asking me to spend the night with you? For real?” Laughing, I shook my head at him before looking in my rearview mirror. Seeing King had moved, I started backing out.

“Oh, you just gon’ pull off on me? We there now Peaches. I thought you loved me,” Blaze yelled, laughing.

He was such an asshole it made no sense. Giving him the middle finger, I straightened the car right as he started yelling again.

“That’s what I’m tryna do, but you bullshittin’.”

I just sped off, not even thinking about replying back to him because that’s all his dumbass wanted. Even so, I couldn’t help the stupid laugh that slipped through my smiling lips.

  ***

Once I pulled into my garage, I turned off the car, grabbed the food and got out. I let the garage door down as I walked into the house and straight into the living room.

Ebony sat on the couch watching TV. “Ooh, you brought food.” She got off the couch to come grab the bag which I moved out of her reach.

“Yes, I brought food for me and King, not you. Bitch, you should’ve cooked or went out and brought something to eat. I’m starving and I’m not sharing. And before you ask, no you can’t have King’s food either.”

She smacked her lips and stomped back over to the couch, like a kid. After I put King’s plate into the bar’s refrigerator, I grabbed mine before looking over to Ebony to see her watching me.

  “Bitch, don’t touch his food.”

“Girl, I’m not,” she stated, making me mug her. “I’m not, dang.”

“Good. Well, I’m off to bed. Night, bae,” I said.

“You’re taking your food with you?”
