A Dangerous Love 5: No Love Lost

Page 24

by J Peach

My entire body went still and I stood there frozen as Blaze talked, laughing.

“Check this though, that mothafuckin’ client his ass supposedly got out in… Marshall Town, was it? I could end that mothafucka now if I wanted.”

  Oh, my God!

Feeling my pockets, I grabbed my phone, praying to God nothing had happened to Ron. My hands were literally shaking as I dialed his number, but before I could press call the phone was snatched out my hands.

“Did you tell ’em bye before he dropped you off? Hm, did you tell ’em you love him?” Blaze taunted.

This nigga done lost his fuckin’ mind. “Blaze, I swear to God if you did something to him—”

Blaze laughed as he shook his head. “Sweetheart, I’m here with you, how in the fuck I’mma do something when I’m here? I mean, everybody in yo office done seen me and know we got in to it. They saw me drag yo ass in here, remember? This where I been at the time of yo boyfriends death. I got witness, including you. So how I’mma do something?” He asked, his facial expression was of pure happiness, Blaze was smiling this wide cheeky smile.

“Blaze, give me— Fuck it.” Going to Doc’s desk, I reached for her phone. I had to make sure Ron was okay and tell him not to go out there.

God, I hoped he was just like most black folks and be late. A squeak left my mouth as I was jerked back by my hair with the phone ripped from my hands. Even though Blaze had my hair, I managed to twist around and I just started punching him. “Blaze, I swear to God if something happens to him—”

He took hold of my throat and pushed me into the desk. “You’ll do what? Kill me? Damn, bae, I thought we were better than this. You don’t even know that mothafucka— Yo ass better stop fuckin’ hitting me.” I managed to get another hit in and Blaze squeezed my neck tighter.

“Calm yo ass the fuck down, I ain’t say shit about killing that bitch ass nigga. Just letting you know I could if I wanted to. I’m just showing you I’m considerate, that I care about you. But you don’t understand that. You think yo ass got me figured out. Sweetheart, I could’ve been off’d this nigga you messing with, but I don’t wanna hurt you, Peaches.

Besides my moms and Britt, you the only other mothafucka on this earth I care about. That nigga still breathing because of you. Killin’ him means hurting you. I don’t like that you hanging with this mothafucka but…”

Blaze thumb and index finger traced across my bottom lip before moving down to my chin tilting my head back.

“You seem happy, you smile more and I don’t wanna be the reason it stops. What you expect and want from me I can’t give that shit to you. That shit ain’t me, but you knew that and you fuck’d me, real shit. I don’t like being fuck’d, nigga’s find death when they fuck me over. You don’t even realize the seriousness in this shit. Peaches, you continue to fuck me, yo, and you still breathing. You know too much shit about me, man. How I know yo ass ain’t told yo dude about my shit?”

“I wouldn’t do that, Blaze, please don’t do nothing to him. Ron, don’t have shit to do with any of this, all he know about you, all that I done told him is that you was messing with that bitch, just little shit, that’s it.

“I’ve never told him about the other shit you do. I promise I haven’t, Blaze.” I didn’t want anything to happen to Ron because of me. Jerron was probably already there meeting these folks and don’t even know. “Blaze, please, he don’t know nothing about you, maybe shit he heard elsewhere, but what I know I’ve never told anyone. You can’t do this, please.”

“You begging for this nigga, I don’t like that shit. You just met this nigga—”

“No, I haven’t. I’ve known Jerron since I was younger, but he don’t deserve whatever you got planned. Just stop it— Oh, my God— Give me my damn phone!” I couldn’t even hold my tears just thinking Jerron could probably be dead because of some unnecessary bullshit, both him and Leon.

My head went into my hands as I began to sob hard. There was no way I could ever live with myself knowing I’m the reason two of my friends is probably dead. Oh, my God! King knew. “You had King lure him out there?”

“I ain’t have King do shit. King, don’t know shit about this,” Blaze said. I wanted to slap the shit outda him, but I didn’t because of Jerron. I didn’t know if he was dead or not so I was gon’ play it safe until I knew otherwise.

“Jerron told me King sent a client to him, that’s why he was going to Marshall Town.” He didn’t have to lie, I just didn’t understand why King would go along with doing something like that after saying he liked Jerron.

“Man, stop all that damn crying, yo dude ain’t dead. Not yet. All I gotda do is send a message and he is, but I ain’t gon’ do that. I just want you to remember this the next time you wanna call a nigga inconsiderate. Yo feelings are always considered before I do anything, you that soft spot for me.

Just don’t go thinking this a forever thing ‘cause it ain’t so don’t have dude hopeful,” Blaze said, sitting down in the chair behind the desk. He pulled his blood covered shirt off and let out a heavy breath, laughing.

It was then I realized how much blood was actually on his shirt. Blood was still running from the hole in his chest where I stabbed him. I was surprised his ass hadn’t passed out by now.

“Can’t none of these bitches out here do me like you can. You think because I ain’t whining and crying, begging yo ass to come back I don’t give a fuck? You stabbed me with a pen that shit went through, didn’t it?” Blaze laughed, looking at the little hole. “Ain’t no chick out there that damn dumb to do no shit like this. Come here.” Grabbing some paper towels from the bathroom, I went over to him, pressing the paper towels to his chest.

“I’ll go get Dr. Harris—” I started to move away from him but he stopped me.

“Ain’t nobody here but us, money can make a Doctor close her office for the rest of the day.” He said, shocking me.

How the fuck she gon’ leave knowing what he does? What if he decided to kill me? Oh, hell yeah, I’m quitting this fuckin’ job, she just basically handed me to my killer. What type of shit is that? Then again I could kill his ass and hopefully they wouldn’t tell shit.

“I know that look, you plotting, huh? Here, I’ll do you one better.” Taking his gun from his waist, he sat it on the desk.

This mothafucka is seriously fuckin’ crazy.

Damn, it was tempting as fuck.

“Tempting? Huh? I know, I’ve been tempted since we been in this damn room. It’ll make shit a lot better,” Blaze stated.

I silently agreed as I went back to the bathroom in hopes of finding something to stop his bleeding as well as something to clean it with.

Coming across some alcohol and some gauze, I went back in the room to him. Why the fuck wasn’t I letting that crazy bastard bleed to death. Sitting the stuff on the desk I stopped.

“Let me call Jerron to see if he’s okay.” I held my hand out for my phone.

“I said he wasn’t gon’ die, you don’t trust me now?”

Did he really want me to answer that fuckin’ question after what just happened?

“Call him, Peaches.” He tossed my phone on the desk. I quickly grabbed it and called Jerron.

  Ring.

  No answer.

  Second ring.

A lump started to form in my throat.

  Third ring.

  Still no answer.

  Fourth ring.

“You’ve reached…” His voicemail picked up.

“You lying son of a bitch!” I jumped on Blaze, making the chair fall backwards, but I didn’t care. I just started hitting him. “He didn’t even know shit about you!” Yelling in his face, I went to punch him again, but he grabbed me by my throat. He tried to push me off of him, but I dug my finger in the stab wound on his chest.

“Ah, shit!“ As soon as those words left his mouth, Blaze slapped my ass so hard my head twisted to the side, giving him the chance to roll us over and pin my arms above my head. “What t
he fuck is wrong with yo dumbass?” He snapped, but I wasn’t paying his talking no attention as I turned my head sideways, biting into his arm as hard as I could.

Grabbing my neck again, his hand squeezed tight just as my phone started ringing. “If yo ass bite me again I’mma pistol whip yo ass.” Quickly getting up, Blaze grabbed his gun.

“You’re a fuckin’ liar, Blaze.” Snapping at him, I pushed myself off the floor.

“Bitch, you hit me again I’mma shoot yo ass in the fuckin’ leg. What the fuck I lie about now?” He asked as my phone started ringing again. Picking it up off of the floor, Blaze looked at the screen before answering. “Yeah,” he got quiet for a second before a smile came to his lips. “This B, I hear you being tellin’ niggas you tryna get at me.” Hearing him say that, I let out a relieved breath, knowing he was talking to Jerron. “Shid, I’m sayin tho, you tryna do something—”

“Blaze, give me my damn phone.” I reached for it, but he pushed me back.

“Sit the fuck down, damn, before I knock the shit out you,” Blaze snapped at me and I slapped him hard in the back of his neck. “Peaches, hit me again— I’m serious as fuck— I’mma shoot yo dumbass.” He threatened while tucking his gun back on his waist.

Yeah, he gon’ threaten me then put his gun up.

He leaned against the desk and pulled the phone from his ear. “Bae, can you go to the truck and get me another shirt since you fuck’d that one up, please?”

All I could do was stare at Blaze in disbelief as he went back to talkin’.

“Nigga, I ain’t tryna hear all that bullshit, only bitches argue. Nigga I pop, boss, fuck all that animated bullshit you spittin’.” Blaze spoke nonchalantly as he played with a paper clip on the desk. Looking up at me he snapped his fingers. “Aye, can you come clean this and patch it up?” This man was unbelievable. “If you don’t I’mma bleed to death.” My brows rose as I gave him a look that said, ‘So’.

At his glaring face, I snatched my phone. Once I placed it to my ear, Jerron was just giving an address of where he’ll be. I was so glad I snatched the phone when I did.

“Jerron, are you okay? Where you at?” I needed him to tell me he was okay.

“I’m good, you straight?” He asked.

Even though he couldn’t see me, I nodded my head as a relieved sigh left my mouth and I started back cleaning Blaze wound.

“Damn, Peaches. Watch what the fuck you doin’,” Blaze snapped and snatched the alcohol from me.

I wasn’t paying attention and poured the alcohol over the hole on his chest. Rolling my eyes at him, I pressed hard against the small wound.

“Don’t be fuckin’ rollin yo gotdamn eyes at me. You gon’ make me choke the shit out yo ass.”

“Blaze, shut the fuck up, don’t nobody wanna hear that stupid shit. Black bitch ain’t gon’ do shit— hold this.” I took his hand and pressed it hard against the gauze then went back into the cabinet to get more gauze and some tape. “Ron, where you at?” I asked him again.

“Just leaving a house out in Marshall Town I told you about. King was up there, but where you at?” He questioned.

My mouth opened, but quickly closed as I thought better of telling him where we were. “I don’t think it’s best you know right now. But I’m good Ron, don’t worry about me. King was out there?” I went back over to Blaze, cradling the phone between my shoulder and ear. I began wiping the blood from his chest. I was surprised that his ass still hadn’t passed out yet. That pen went deep. He was still bleeding.

“Yeah, it wasn’t actually a house, but an empty property where he wants a house built. We’re about to go meet to these other folks out here now—” He began, but I quickly cut him off.

“Don’t go, call and cancel. Tell them to reschedule and once I finish up here I’ll meet you at yours. I got the address,” I replied while slapping Blaze’s hand as he grabbed my tittie.

“Oh, so you heard that, huh?” He asked, referring to his address.

Glaring at Blaze, I wanted so bad to splash alcohol in his damn eyes. “Yeah, I did, Jerron. Don’t go there with him, please. Blaze is a very childish ass little boy so you have to excuse him sometimes. He really can’t help his self,” I told him and Blaze laughed.

“Dude knows what’s up, boss. But shid, I can’t help my hands though,” Blaze said letting his eyes roam. Rolling mine, I taped the gauze to his chest. “Get the fuck off the phone, you’ll see that nigga, i’ight. I told you I wouldn’t hurt you, didn’t I?” He stated as he pulled me to him. “Stop tryna act mad, I’ll give you some dick if that’s what you want, all you gotda do is ask. This yo dick, remember?”

My mouth twisted. He was not really saying this. “Blaze, shut the fuck up, damn.” Muffing his head back, I turned away from him. Ron laughed on the other end and had me laughing. “Ron, ain’t shit funny.”

“It is, but gon’ finish doing what you doin and call me when you ready so I can pick you up…” Ron trailed off as Leon said something to him before getting back on the phone. “Leon, just cancelled. Don’t forget to pack light for tonight. So all you really need is yo scrubs for work in the morning.”

“Boy, gone somewhere, I done already told you I wasn’t doing that and I don’t need my scrubs because I quit my job.” The line was quiet for a few second. Blaze suddenly grabbed me by the waist, pulling me to him. “Stop, Blaze, damn.” Pushing his head back, I glared at him as he tried to kiss me.

I was on the phone with Ron so I had some of my control back.

“You quit? Why?” I let out a sigh. “We’ll talk about it later?” He asked, he knew me all too well.

Laughing I nodded my head. “Yeah, we’ll talk about it later. So I’ll call you when I get home,” I told him while pushing Blaze again. “Stop, what them bitches that left those marks ain’t giving yo ass no pussy or something?” I asked Blaze, pushing him away from me as he tried to put his hands down the front of my pants.

“I ain’t fuckin’ them bitches, yo ass know that. Come spend the night with me—”

I started laughing, this nigga had lost his fuckin’ mind. “Alright Jerron, I’mma call you when I’m ready.”

“I’ight—” He started saying, but I cut him off.

“Hey, Ron, don’t stoop to his level, okay? All that you were saying, you better than that. I know you are, so don’t let Blaze or Sam provoke you unless it’s necessary. Okay?”

Jerron laughed while Blaze on the other hand continued with his roaming hands.

“I hear you, but gon’ head and finish up.” After we said our byes, I hung up the phone.

Once I did, Blaze’s lips were on mine.

  Chapter 36

  Peaches

“Blaze, get off of me, damn. What the fuck is wrong with you?” I pushed away from him and moved around to the other side of the desk.

“Ain’t shit wrong with me. Shid, I’m waiting fah yo ass to apologize. I told you wasn’t shit gon’ happen to that bitch ass nigga. But you attacked me, so come on, tell me you sorry.” He leaned against the desk with his arms folded.

My head slightly tilted. I stared at him trying to figure out if he was being serious or not. Then again, knowing him, he was. My ass was ready to get as far away from him as possible.

“I’m sorry I doubted you, I should’ve listened. You can’t really blame me because it’s you, you’re unpredictable. Blaze, what did you expect me to think?”

“Come spend the night with me,” he responded instead.

I just shook my head before walking towards the door.

“I’m not about to do this with you. I’m tired of this, we never get anywhere so let’s just pretend none of this happened. Let’s pretend you didn’t try choking me to death. Blaze, you can’t do shit like that and then expect me to continue to act like nothing happened. If you care about me the way you claim, then you would have never went that far. You can’t talk out yo ass then expect me to just go home and fuck you.

“No, and I don’t make it any b
etter because I always fall for the dumb shit which probably makes you think it’s okay, when it’s not. I just can’t keep doing this with you, B, I’m tired. I’m too young to be feeling like a fuckin’ ninety year old woman. I done already accepted the fact we’re not going to be together, maybe it’s time you accepted it too,” I explained to him.

My mind was made up and I honestly did mean every word…

“Peach, I can’t do that. You don’t see it, but bae I need you, man. Thinkin’ ‘bout you, being with you is the only thing that keeps me stable, yo. I ain’t tryna sound like no bitch, but man, this shit hurt, Peach. I ain’t ever felt no shit like this, that bullshit I was spittin’ earlier is just that. That shit be flying out before I realize how fuck’d up it is.”

My mind is always made up in the moment the words ‘I’m done’ leaves my mouth, until he starts talking like that then everything I said is shot and it doesn’t matter.

“No, Blaze, you can’t do that. This is exactly what I’m talkin’ about. You stood here calling me a bitch, a hoe, every fuckin’ name in a sluts book amongst everything else. Then you do this before flipping the fuck out again. Blaze, that’s not okay.” It just wasn’t.

“Every time my minds is made up you pull this shit, making me second guess myself and I don’t like that. It only makes me feel like shit because you’re not being serious. You’re not willing to change or let that bitch go and you know everything you’re saying is bullshit, B. You can’t keep playing with my feelings like this. You know I’ll drop everything in a second for you because I love you, Blaze. But would you do the same for me?”

That was gon’ prove everything on whether he was worth it or not. And if he made the wrong choice I was walking out of the door and moving on.

“You know I would, ain’t even no question about it.” The seriousness his voice and eyes held made me believe him. “Peach, come stay the night with me and we can finish this at my crib.”

“I have proved to you on more than one occasion that I had you and would do anything for you. I want you to do the same for me,” I said hinting that there was more. But to be honest, I was scared as hell to say it, afraid of his reply.
