Viper: The Brimstone Kings MC Page 6

by J. J. Marstead

I got to work a few minutes early to meet up with Anthony so, he could show me the ropes. There’s a guy behind the bar cleaning glasses, his head snaps up like he knows I’m standing there. He has a grin on his face, while he looks me up and down. Oh boy, this should be fun.

“Hey Sweetheart, what can I get you?” he purrs licking his lips.

“Umm, I’m here to see Anthony for the manager job,” I mention and his eyes widen a bit. He stands straight and looks behind me. Is there someone behind me? Just then a deep voice carries from behind me.

“Grant, what are you doing? Don’t tell me that you’re flirting with the new manager.”

Grant starts shaking his head and goes back to cleaning the glasses. I turn around, and I come face to face with my boss. He gives a warm smile.

“It’s good to see you again, Tammy. Thanks for coming in, I hope that you enjoy working here and remember if anything bothers you, let me know, and I’ll take care of it right off the bat.” He says, then he comes closer and whispers so Grant can’t hear. “If Grant does anything let me know. He’s mostly just a huge flirt, but I don’t want him to make you feel uncomfortable,” he adds. I nod my head and give him a smile of my own.

“I’ll let you know if anything happens, but I’m sure I can handle Grant,” I say, and Anthony smirks.

“I’m sure you can,” he chuckles.

Anthony shows me where the office is. It’s spacious and has nice colors so, it’s not depressing, like high school classroom colors. God, I hated that about high school, the dull blah colors. It made the day long and boring seeing the same old colors all the time.

After Anthony showed me everything, he had to leave. He left me his phone number in case anything gets out of hand tonight but he said that everyone is pretty good with their jobs so, there’s no trouble, usually. I have my fingers crossed, hoping everything goes smooth for my first night.

I head out to the bar area, and Grant is behind the bar, checking the alcohol before we open to make sure he doesn’t have to go in the back for more bottles.

“Hi Grant,” I say, and he turns to me and smiles shyly at me rubbing the back of his neck.

“Hi, I just want to let you know that if I did anything to make you feel uncomfortable. I’m sorry.” He mumbles, and it’s my turn to smile.

“Don’t worry about it. It didn’t make me uncomfortable,” I mention, and he perks up and chuckles.

“Can I have your phone number?” he asks with a grin and wiggles his eyebrows at me, and I full out laugh at him. God, he’s such a dork. I shake my head at him chuckling.

“Sorry, no can do, bud, but I’m sure you’ll do good on the numbers tonight,” I say with a wink, and he grins.

“Is there something I can get you?” I nod my head because I’m thirsty as hell right now.

“Do you have bottle water or maybe orange juice?” I ask, and he raises a questioning brow at me.

“Number one, I’m working. Number two,” I say leaning forward, and he does the same, “I’m pregnant,” I whisper out, and he gasps lightly.

“Shit, I was hitting on a MILF.” Right there I’m like in shock by what he just said. It takes me a minute to understand what the hell MILF means and I chuckle after Thomas explains what it means.

“So, can I get that water or orange juice. Whichever you have back there,” I ask. He nods and grabs one of each and hands them to me. I look at him puzzled when I asked just for one.

“You're pregnant, you’ll need both I’m sure. With the heat that this club puts off, I’m sure you’ll need it. Orange juice is good for the baby.” He mentions, and I can’t help myself and ask him how in the hell he knows this.

“How do you know all this?” I ask, and he chuckles.

“My sister was pregnant last year, and she mentioned that she had to drink plenty of water and orange juice. Oh, and you have to eat eggs too,” he says, and I shake my head. I need to get back to the office and go through some more paperwork.

I’m going through some paperwork when there’s a knock at the door. I sigh and stretch my back as I sit up. “Come in,” I yell over the music that’s pumping in the club. The door opens, and Viper comes marching in with a pissed off look on his face.

“Why didn’t you tell me you quit?” he asks. I sigh heavily as I look down at the paperwork I’ve been working on for two hours. I look back up to Viper. He’s waiting for my answer through narrow eyes.

“I didn’t want to work there anymore, having to see you and Destiny all over each other every night was getting old. I didn’t want to be anywhere around you both. So, no I didn’t think I would have to tell you that I was quitting because you have no say about my job.” I hiss out at him, and he grunts in reply.

“You could have still told me. When I got to the club and you weren’t there, I got worried,” he says his voice lighter. I slump my shoulders and take a breath.

“I’m sorry you were worried about me but I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself.” I mention and he gives a tight nod. I’m looking at him and I feel like shouting out that I’m pregnant but I can’t do that. I can’t give him hope when there isn’t any to give. I know the fate of this baby inside me. It will have the same fate as the other, no chance at all at happiness. I clear my throat and blink my eyes a few times to stop myself from releasing the tears, that so badly want to escape.

I notice my juice and water bottle are both empty, damn it. I need something to drink. I need to head out to the bar. I get up from the chair and walk around the desk and to the door. Viper lightly grabs my arm stopping me. I halt and look up at him.

“Where are, you going?” he asks.

“I have to go out to the bar to get something, if you want to follow me go ahead.”

He doesn’t say anything and he walks behind me as I make my way down the hall to the entrance of the club. There’s lots of people here already for nine-thirty, the music is pumping loud around us. Grant’s working hard at the bar giving out drink orders, there’s a girl working with him tonight as well. Thank God, poor Grant, would be besides him with the amount of running around he would’ve had to do if he was alone.

I make my way towards Grant, I put my hand on the bar and tap it with my hand. His head snaps up and he smiles. Grant seems like a really nice guy after he stopped trying to flirt with me every second. I don’t feel Viper near me and I turn around and he takes a seat at the bar at the other end, what the hell is up his ass?

Grant comes over and leans on the bar. “So, what can I get you doll face?” he asks and I chuckle, he’s like a brother you want to slap the shit out of sometimes.

“I need another bottle of water, please,” I shout over the music. He nods and turns away to get the bottle. I notice Viper staring at Grant and Grant seems to notice it too because he looks from me to Viper then back to me and he has a devilish grin on his face. Oh crap, he’s in for it now.

“Who is the macho dude that keeping staring at me?” he asks placing the bottle in front of me. I take the bottle and twist the cap off, taking a gulp of water. My throat feeling refreshed now.

“That dude would be my ex and the father of my baby,” Grants eyes go wide, and I panic, shit.

“He doesn’t know that I am yet. So, keep your trap shut,” I mention giving him a stern look. He nods his head. Everyone at the bar has their drinks, so Grant stays talking to me for a few minutes then I feel someone behind me. I turn to see Viper there glaring at Grant.

“I hope you know that she’s taken and you have no chance in fucking hell of getting with her,” he barks out over the music and Grant puts his hands up in the air.

“Woah, chill dude, we were just talking.”

“Viper, stop it. Grant works here too. You don’t have to go all cave man on me.” I hiss at him.

“I just wanted to let him know where he stands,” Viper grunts out and I shake my head. It doesn’t matter what I tell him, he has it stuck in his little head of his that I’m his and that’s, t
hat.

Viper takes a seat beside me not trusting Grant. I can’t help but giggle under my breath and Viper raises a brow. “What’s so funny?” he asks.

“Oh, nothing.” He grunts at my reply and I chuckle even more at him. God, it’s too funny to see him like this, all protective and cave-man like. He’s been like that since day one and he’s never going to change, but that is one of the things I fell in love with him for, his protectiveness.

Viper and Grant chat for a bit and I mention I have to get back to the office in back and Viper stands up to come with me but I put my hand up. “No, you can stay here. I won’t be able to get any work done with you standing over me,” I say and he pouts a little, big baby. I shake my head and chuckle. I slide off the stool and make my way to the office through a hoard of people.

I can’t wait to get home; my back and feet are killing me.

It’s almost eleven when I’m done all the paperwork, poor Anthony was a little behind on it. At least now it’s all caught up and things should be a little smoother now. There’s another knock at the door and I don’t even bother saying ‘come in’ I know it’s Viper and he’s going to come in no matter what.

The door opens and Viper’s head pops in. “Hey, you ready to head out? Grant told me you work till eleven and then you're done,” he says and I nod my head because I just want to get home and put my feet up and relax my back. There’s a knot right in the middle of my back. I’ll have to remember for next time to bring a pillow or something.

“Can I come to your place? We need to talk, Tammy,” he says, and I know he’s right. I can’t avoid it forever, so I nod my head because I don’t want to argue right now. I shut the lights off in the office and lock the door with the key Anthony gave me earlier, and then I put it inside my purse. Viper escorts me out to my car and I notice his bike is parked right beside.

“I’ll follow you,” he says getting his helmet. When he puts it over his head, I get a shiver. Fuck, I’ve always loved how Viper looks with a helmet on. His body is to die for and him on a bike. Panties are ruined.

  Chapter 9

When I got to the club and noticed Tammy wasn’t there. I went ballistic and asked Annie where the hell Tammy was. When she told me she quit, I was ready to tear someone a new asshole. I pried for more information from Annie, and she finally caved and told me she was working over at Club Edge. To say I wasn’t pleased finding out that tad bit of information is an understatement. I can’t believe she actually upped and quit and didn’t fucking think to mention it.

“I can’t believe she quit just like that,” I say out loud, and Annie scoffs.

“She didn’t just up and quit you jackass. She gave her two weeks' notice.” She snarls out and turns around and serves the guys at the bar. What the fuck? She gave her two week notice, and I’m just hearing about this now? My head feels like it’s ready to explode. I shake my head and head to the door. I make a break for my bike. I need to find out why in the hell she left bare-essentials.

The ride over to Club Edge doesn’t take me too long. I didn’t want some guys hitting on my woman. Yes, I’m going all cave man and calling her my woman because she is, even if her stubborn ass can’t see it.

When I got there, there was no sign of Tammy anywhere. The bodies of people swaying and grinding on each other had my jaw ticking. If Tammy is here grinding that sweet little ass of mine on some other fuckers’ dick. He’s going to get a face full of knuckles, and she’s going to get a spanking of a lifetime.

The air in here is thick with the smell of beer, and the smell of sweat hits me in full force. Tammy left the club for this? What the hell was she thinking? Tammy wouldn’t be on the dance floor if she’s working, would she? Was she hired to work the floor? Make the customers happy? That boils my blood, thinking of her doing that. I ball my fists and march to the bar. The fucking bartender better know where the hell she is, because if he doesn’t tell me. I might have to beat it out of him.

The bartender looks up and his eyes go wide with panic, I smirk. The fucker better be scared. When I get right in front of him at the bar he gulps and stutters out fast. “What can I get you?”

“I’m looking for Tammy,” I growl out, and he points his finger to the back hall, and I don’t wait for him to say anything else. My feet are moving on their own towards to back. I’m relieved knowing she isn’t out there shaking her little behind.

There are a few doors lined up, now which one is she behind. Each door is labeled, I’ll start with the one that says ‘office.' I knock and when I hear the sweet voice of Tammy saying, ‘come in,' my dick hardens. Fuck! I take a deep breath in and let it out, before going in. I can’t be all horned up, I’m supposed to be furious with her about quitting. Not thinking of bending her over the desk in there. Snap out of it, Viper!

I open the door and head inside, she looks up, and her eyes go wide when she sees me.

“Why didn’t you tell me you quit?” I ask, and she sighs heavily then looks down at the paperwork in front of her. I narrow my eyes at her waiting for her to answer me.

“I didn’t want to work there anymore, having to see you and Destiny all over each other every night was getting old. I didn’t want to be anywhere around you both. So, no I didn’t think I would have to tell you that I was quitting because you have no say about my job.” She hisses at me.

“You could have still told me. When I got to the club, and you weren’t there, I got worried,” I say, my voice lighter now.

“I’m sorry you were worried about me, but I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself.” She says.

She gets up from the chair and moves around the desk and heads for the door, I lightly grab her arm stopping her. “Where are, you going?” I ask.

“I have to go out to the bar to get something if you want to follow me go ahead.” She snips and leaves the room. I follow her out and down the hallway, the music getting louder with each step. She walks in between the sea of people. I get cut off by some chick trying to grind herself on me.

“Sorry cupcake, I’m taken,” I shout down at her and she pouts at me. Then turns around and starts dancing with some other guy. I can’t help but chuckle, club chicks, doesn’t matter who sticks it to them, just as long as they get what they want.

Tammy is at the bar now and she must be ordering something. I see an open seat near the other end of the bar. I head there before someone can take it. I sit my ass down, watching Tammy and that bartender from earlier talking. The mother fucker is flirting with her, I ball my fists. I’m not going to let this fly, no fucking way. The dude looks at me and then back to Tammy and says something and she looks at me then back to him and says something back. That’s my cue to stake my claim on her. I get up from my seat and walk over to them. I put my arm around her.

“I hope you know that she’s taken and you have no chance in fucking hell of getting with her,” I bark out and the dude puts his hands up in the air.

“Woah, chill dude, we were just talking.”

“Viper, stop it. Grant works here too. You don’t have to go all cave man on me.” Tammy hisses at me.

“I just wanted to let him know where he stands,” I grunt.

There’s an open seat now beside Tammy, so I take it. Tammy starts giggling under her breath and I raise a brow. “What’s so funny?” I ask her and she clears her throat.

“Oh, nothing.” She says and I grunt. Nothing my ass.

I talk with the bartender, which I found out his name is Grant and he doesn’t look at Tammy with fuck me eyes, so I guess he’s alright. Tammy mentions she has to go back to the office to finished up a few things. I stand up to go with her but she puts her hand up stopping me.

“No, you can stay here. I won’t be able to get any work done with you standing over me,” she says and I look at her with the best pouty face I can manage and she shakes her hand leaving me there at the bar.

Grant mentioned to me that Tammy finishes at eleven. So, I make my way to the office to see if she’
s done for the night. I knock on the door again but this time I don’t wait for an answer, I open the door and pop my head in. “Hey, you ready to head out? Grant told me you work till eleven and then you're done,” I say and she nods her head.

“Can I come to your place? We need to talk, Tammy,” I ask. She looks at me and nods again. She grabs her purse and we leave the room, she locks the door behind us and we walk out of the club together. I escort her to her car which I parked my bike right beside.

“I’ll follow you,” I tell her.

She gets in her car and peels out of the parking lot. I start my bike and rev it a bit and the girls outside of the club smoking are all whistling at me and I can’t help but grin. They want me but they can’t have me. Tammy’s the only one and I pray to fuck she’ll have me.

I need to find out what that medical paper was about. I want to get to the bottom of what the hell is going on with her. She loves me and then puff, she turns her emotions off like a switch.

Tammy turns into her parking space and I park my bike right beside her car. She gets out and gives me a hesitant smile and then locks her car doors. I take my helmet off and follow her to the door. She opens it and we walk inside the apartment building. When walk up to her door and she pulls out her key and slides it in the handle unlocking it. She opens the door and I motion for her to enter, she goes on in and places her purse down on the table, where all her mail is near the front door. She kicks off her shoes and groans once her feet touch the tile floor.
