It’s different; I promise you that.

But if you’ll trust me and keep reading, you’ll soon see what I’m up to with The Future of Sex. In the end it’s pure romance. It actually might be the most romantic of all my work, now that I think about it.

I’ve always tried to “say things” with my books. The Future of Sex “says” some pretty big things that I know you’ll want to hear — ideas about love and sex, future and present, and ultimately what it means to be a human being.

(Nothing ambitious for me to tackle as an author, right?)

But yeah. It’s an epic sort of read. And by the final installment, The Future of Sex will leave you breathless.

So what do you think? Are you willing to try something new? Are you willing to trust me, and dive into a series that’s different from what you’ve been reading … yet without question the best work I feel I’ve ever done?

I hope so. Because there are some grand things awaiting if you do.

For one: the realization of all the threads I’ve woven through my prior books.

For another: resolution on the hundreds of little Easter eggs — most of which I’ll bet you didn’t know were even there … but will recognize once you read The Future of Sex.

And what’s more, you’ll see the return of some of your favorite characters. That was one of the best parts of this for me. When I wrote the first half of FOS, the Aubrey Parker world and its colorful characters didn’t exist. But when I went through it again and finished the series, many came right back up. Caspian White, for one, refused to keep his nose out of FOS. And if you’re wondering how he’s still scorching hot in the year 2060, you’ll need to read to find out.

There’s so, so much about the Future of Sex that excites and gratifies me as a creator. Right now, you can only see part of the whole, but the “big picture” was a thing of beauty for me. With FOS, I’ve tied together at least five or six writing projects that span the breadth of my author career and at least three pen names.

(We’ll get to that. Just stick with me.)

The undertaking was an enormous one and required me to wrangle innumerable loose ends to make sure everything perfectly fit.

But it’s magic, the way things come together.

I’m excited for you. You’re on the cusp of an amazing journey, and I wish I could experience it fresh, as you’re in the middle of doing — and are about to do as you start The Future of Sex.

I’m so close to it, I mostly see trees. But the forest? I suspect it’s a beautiful one.

Then buckle up, Buttercup. This ride is truly about to take off. :)
