Ice Age Lover Page 5

With a half growl and half groan, he lowered his head and licked Jaren’s pussy from bottom to top. The taste of her went to his head, sending a shot of desire through his entire body. He swept his tongue along her opening, swirling it around her clit until he had her panting and clutching the covers beneath her.

He continued to suck on the small bundle of nerves that was the center of her pleasure as he pushed one finger inside her. He slid it in and out, then added a second. Jaren’s inner muscles gripped his plunging digits, her hips lifting to match each stroke. Kajakti raised his head and looked up to watch her face as he worked her. Her eyes were closed and she had her bottom lip between her teeth as she panted and gasped.

Kajakti angled the thrust of his fingers higher. Jaren’s moans grew louder. At the first flutter of her orgasm, he pulled the digits out and replaced them with his mouth. He licked and sucked, stiffening his tongue to spear it into her pussy as she came with a whimpered cry.

He rose between her legs and kissed her belly. Kajakti kept his eyes downcast, knowing they had to have taken on a muted glow with his arousal. He shifted to lie at Jaren’s side and worked on opening his jeans. Her hands joined his and helped him shed his pants and then his underwear.

Once he was as naked as she, his mate closed her hand around his hard cock and pumped it up and down. He thrust his hips, pushing his length tighter into her grip. Pre-cum leaked out of the head and onto Jaren’s fingers. He grew harder, liking how she stroked his shaft.

Needing to be inside her, Kajakti pulled her hand off him and pushed her to her back. He settled between her legs, the head of his cock butting against her pussy. He pushed inside her, working himself deeper with each thrust. Jaren’s inner walls wrapped around his length and held him tight.

Seated to the hilt, Kajakti slid almost all the way out before he thrust all the way back inside. He took her in long, shallow strokes. He couldn’t hold back the soft growls of pleasure that rumbled out of him. He hadn’t been with a woman for ten thousand years before Jaren. And he was glad she was his mate because he never wanted another.

He took her faster, harder, increasing the pace he’d set for them. Jaren met him stroke for stroke. She held on to his biceps as he strained atop her, pushing them both closer to their release. She lifted her bent legs to either side of his hips. He sank deeper, and grew longer and thicker.

“Just like that,” Jaren said on a moan. “I’m going to come.”

Kajakti thrust harder. “Don’t hold back. I’m right there with you.”

Her fingers dug into his arms as she arched her back. He pumped in and out of her pussy half a dozen times. She let out a keening moan. Her inner walls clutched and released his plunging shaft with her climax. It milked him along his entire length, squeezing him tight, throwing him into his own orgasm. Kajakti groaned as he pulsed deep inside her, his cum filling her up.

  Chapter Five

Jaren fought to catch her breath as Kajakti collapsed on top of her. Even though he’d come, his cock remained hard and buried deep inside her. Sex had never been this good for her, not even with Matt, whom she’d been with for a year. Making love to Kajakti was more intense. He seemed to know exactly how to touch her body to wring the most pleasure out of her. Kajakti’s skills in the bedroom also proved her ex had been far from adequate.

And now that she was sober, Jaren also came to realize how much of her emotions came into play while she was in Kajakti’s arms. It wasn’t sex for the sake of having it. What she felt was deeper, and it scared her. She couldn’t already be falling for him, but she was very much afraid she was. She’d once thought herself in love with Matt. Now, she realized that wasn’t the case. It was more as if she’d become comfortable with him and had grown complacent.

Kajakti raised himself onto his bent arms, and Jaren moaned when his hard cock shifted inside her pussy. “You’re still ready to go,” she said as she reached up and played with his long hair, which had fallen forward.

His eyes were only open a crack, and he smiled. “Yes. I want you to come for me again.”

Those words sent a shiver of desire through her. She let out a small whimper as he pulled out of her, but soon found herself rolled to her side while he rested on his and spooned her from behind. His erection nestled between the cheeks of her ass. Jaren pushed back against him, her arousal building once more.

Kajakti eased one arm under her so he could palm her breast. With his free hand, he lifted her leg and placed it over his hip. In that position he had her spread and open. His fingers plucked her nipple while he nudged her hair away from the crook of her neck with his nose. He nibbled the flesh there, causing her to shiver. Jaren closed her eyes, getting lost in his touch again.

He shifted, then his cock slid between her legs. Kajakti thrust against her, not entering her, just pushing his shaft along her slick folds. He had her moaning and squirming, wanting him back inside her pussy. He continued to stroke her that way, causing more of her juices to flow.

Jaren was about to beg Kajakti to give her more when he slipped the head of his cock inside her. Two hard thrusts and she had taken him until he was buried to the hilt. With a hand on her hip, he pulled back, then pushed into her again. The pace he set was slow and hard. The sound of their flesh meeting and heavy breathing filled the room.

She pushed back, meeting each long stroke. Kajakti’s cock grew harder inside her, filling and stretching her to capacity. It felt so good Jaren knew she wouldn’t last long. Already her orgasm built, gathering steam to explode through her.

Kajakti’s hand left her hip and trailed down her stomach to her pussy. His fingers delved between her legs until he found her clit. He rubbed and pinched it as he pistoned his hips behind her, his cock spearing into her. Jaren’s climax tore through her, milking the hard length that continued to fill her.

With a deep moan, Kajakti slammed into her harder. His hand returned to hold her at her hip, keeping her in place. His teeth bit down on the skin where her shoulder and neck met, and a noise that sounded suspiciously like an animalistic growl rumbled out of him. It wasn’t the first time he’d made it, and Jaren found it arousing. Kajakti pushed into her one final time, then went still as his cock pulsed deep inside her pussy. The warm splash of cum hit her inner walls as his orgasm took him over.

Once they had quieted and they no longer breathed at a fast rate, Jaren pulled away. She turned in Kajakti’s arms to face him. She smiled, then glanced down at his cock. “You’re still hard.”

  “Don’t worry about it.”

“Are you always so…raring to go?”

Kajakti chuckled. “You could say that.”

“Hmm, interesting. I can see that being a bonus.”

He kissed her forehead. “I like to think so, but we can save it for later.”

  “Later sounds good.”

Jaren snuggled into his embrace as he tugged her closer and tucked her under his chin. She breathed in Kajakti’s masculine scent and closed her eyes. She was more than content to stay exactly where she was. Now that they’d made love again, she felt even stronger for the man who held her so tenderly. She had no idea what she’d do when she had to go back to British Columbia. The thought of leaving him behind didn’t sit well with her.

She turned her head and kissed Kajakti’s muscular chest. There was no point thinking about that now. As things stood, she had no idea when that would be. Today Jaren would focus solely on the man she wanted to be with. Tomorrow was Monday and she’d ask someone to take her to the Canadian consulate to work on getting a new passport.

As Kajakti had predicated, Durlach spent the entire time in the kitchen with Jaren while she prepared the evening meal. She didn’t mind, though. She put him to work chopping and stirring pots on the stove when she needed to do some other task. Kajakti had told her about Durlach’s penchant for mixing ingredients that had no right being together. It hadn’t taken very long to find out how true that was. She’d had to stop Durl
ach from adding his own twist to what she had cooking. His favorite ingredient seemed to be ketchup. She’d had to explain it usually wasn’t one that was frequently used by a trained chef. He’d quickly put the bottle back into the fridge with the promise he’d only use that condiment for hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries.

After spending a great deal of time up in Kajakti’s bedroom, making love three times, they’d emerged and Jaren had headed straight for the kitchen. Kajakti had stayed with her for a bit until Durlach had arrived. Kajakti had said he’d only get in the way, and left, after he’d given her a breath-stealing kiss, to see what the other occupants of the house were up to.

As they cooked, Jaren started a conversation with Durlach that would help her learn more about the new man in her life. “Kajakti tells me you and the other men of the house are all Tlingit. Are you from the same tribe?”

Durlach, who stood at the stove stirring the contents of a frying pan, turned her way and nodded. “Yes. We all lived in the same village before coming to Juneau.”

“So you all grew up together?”

He smiled. “Basically. Our village wasn’t very big. Everyone knew everyone.”

“You make it sound as if it’s gone or something.”

Durlach stiffened, then turned back to the frying pan. “I guess to us it is no more. We all knew once we left we wouldn’t ever return.”

“What about your family? You must still talk to them.”

  “No, I don’t.”

When Durlach didn’t elaborate, Jaren figured he no longer wanted to talk about that particular subject. “Well, I think it’s great that you all are such close friends that you don’t mind living together. That can sometimes put a strain on friendships.”

He looked at her and flashed a big smile. “I don’t think that will ever happen to us. We’ve been through a lot together. We’d be lost if we had to move out and find our own places to live.” Durlach winked. “So if you decide you want to stay with Kajakti you get to be a roommate too.”

She chuckled. “So it’s like a package deal? I get Kajakti and all the rest of you.”

“Yes. Kajakti may think he’s gotten something he waited a lifetime to find but I will have won too. I get a live-in trained chef to teach me how to be a better cook.”

“It sounds as if you have everything already planned and me moving in for good.”

“Well, it’s not as if you can leave.”

  “What do you mean?”

Durlach stopped mid-stir, then let out a laugh that came across as strained and forced. “Did I say you couldn’t leave? I don’t mean you physically can’t. What I meant was it would break Kajakti’s heart if you did go.”

Jaren stared at Durlach, not sure how to respond to his statement. “I don’t know about that,” she said slowly. “If things don’t work out between us, I doubt he’d have a hard time finding someone else.”

This time Durlach’s smile appeared genuine. “I’ve known Kajakti for a very, very long time. It has only been a day since you met him, but believe me, you’re the woman meant for him. You’re not like the other women he has been with in the past.”

A warm feeling went through Jaren. She wanted to believe what Durlach said was true. And if it was, what was she going to do about it? After spending the day in Kajakti’s bed, thinking about leaving him and never seeing him again made her feel as if she couldn’t catch her breath. It was almost as if an anxiety attack wanted to sneak up on her and grab hold. And she’d never had one in her life. Not even after Matt had left her stranded.

“Say that’s true and Kajakti tells me that very thing. What about me?”

Durlach gave her a questioning look. “I don’t understand.”

“I was in a committed relationship with Matt, my ex, for a year up until yesterday. Who is to say what I’m feeling for Kajakti will be strong enough to last? Subconsciously I could be using him and what I think we have is only me rebounding. Those types of relationships never amount to much.”

Durlach put the spatula on the spoon rest then walked over to her. He looked her in the eyes. “Do you really think that is what you have with Kajakti? That you only feel for him the way you do because he was there when you needed someone to lean on the most?”

His questions forced Jaren to take a much closer look at her feelings for Kajakti. As she’d figured out earlier, they weren’t the same as what she’d had for her ex. She hadn’t really loved Matt. She hadn’t cared if she didn’t see him every day. And it had been she who hadn’t wanted them to live together. She’d thought she just liked her space too much. With Kajakti, not once had she felt smothered by him. She was comfortable being around him, he made her actually want to have someone to lean on. And it had nothing to do with what he’d done for her the day before.

“No, I don’t,” she finally said. “What I feel is stronger than that.”

“Then you’re not going to be a problem.”

“But, as I told Kajakti, I can’t just stay here without going back to Canada. I have an apartment and all my things are still there.”

“Then take Kajakti with you when you go home. He can help you get those organized for you to move here. Plus, he’s never been on a plane before. None of us have, except for the girls I think.”

Now that was a good idea. Jaren wouldn’t have to say goodbye to Kajakti even for that short amount of time. And with that thought, that uncomfortable anxiety disappeared.

She leaned in and kissed Durlach on the cheek. “Thanks. When did you get to be so smart?”

He smiled. “I do have my moments. I consider Kajakti one of my brothers. I like seeing him happy. And you do make him feel that way. Even though he has never said anything, I could tell he felt a little lost in his life. Now that he found you, that’s changed.”

Jaren shook her head with a smile. “Do the others know you watch them that closely?”

Durlach chuckled. “No, and don’t be telling them.”

“My lips are sealed. Now let’s get back to finishing dinner before we end up burning something.”

As she worked, Jaren continued to think of Kajakti and what she wanted to do after her holiday was supposed to end. As she’d told Durlach, she and Kajakti really hadn’t discussed their feelings for each other. Yes, Kajakti had talked about her not going back to British Columbia and staying with him, but he’d never actually said he was falling for her. Confused, not sure if she was jumping too far ahead of herself, she decided to let it go for now.

Kajakti sat out on the deck with Edensaw while Jaren was busy in the kitchen cooking with Durlach. His alpha had come out with him while the others had stayed inside. It didn’t take much thinking on Kajakti’s part to realize Edensaw had made sure they would be alone.

Kajakti pulled the windbreaker he wore a little closer around him. The nights were starting to get cooler, and the daylight wasn’t lasting as long as it did in the high of summer. Fall was fast approaching.

He looked at Edensaw. “So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?”

His alpha smiled. “What makes you think I have something to discuss with you?”

“Well, we’re out here by ourselves. I think you planned that.”

“Okay, maybe I did. I thought you’d feel more comfortable without our wolf brothers around to hear.” Edensaw paused. “When are you going to tell Jaren about what you are?”

Kajakti blew out a breath. “I don’t know. I now understand why Wachei and Ketah didn’t tell their mates right away. It’s not something you can just blurt out and expect a mortal to accept.”

“True, but you’ve already claimed Jaren as your mate. The only thing that has saved you has been the fact she is staying with us. And you know you can’t let her continue to think she can go back to Canada without you, let alone remain living there.”

“I know.” Kajakti tucked some of his hair behind his ear. “I thought to wait until Jaren settled in a little better. I don’t want to
add any more stress on her than what she already has because of her asshole ex.”

“I realize that, but you’re running into the risk of one of us letting it slip or something happening that will force you to reveal what you are before you’ve had a chance to explain.”

  “Like a run-in with a dark wolf.”

“Precisely. They’re still out there. You know that. Until we can find Tanner, and in turn this Andre who creates the dark wolves, there’s always a chance they will try something else to weaken us.”

“And with that looming over us, it would be better if I turned Jaren. That way she’d be immortal and not as fragile as she is now.”

  “There is that too.”

Kajakti sighed. “Tomorrow Ketah said he and Haven would drop Jaren and me off at the Canadian consulate for Jaren to apply to have her passport replaced. Once she gets that out of the way, I’ll tell her everything.”

“I think that’s a wise decision. Brice still hasn’t been able to find any leads from that old warehouse Andre and Tanner had kept Haven captive in. Whoever this Andre is, he does well in covering his tracks.”

Brice was the local werewolf pack leader, and someone Kajakti and his wolf brothers considered a good friend. “If he doesn’t want to be found, he won’t. We were lucky we could follow Tanner to the warehouse. He may be one of the dark wolves now but that doesn’t mean he’s smartened up any.”

“That’s what Brice thinks. He has members of his pack on the lookout for Tanner. He’s our best bet to finding Andre again.”

“Hopefully Tanner will make another dumb move soon.” Kajakti stood. “I guess I should go inside and see how Jaren is doing with dinner.”

Edensaw rose to his feet. “Good idea. And just so you know, we all think Jaren is great. And not because she’s teaching Durlach to be a better cook, though that does help.”

  “I’m glad. I love her.”

“As you should since she’s your mate. Just remember to tell her that when you reveal what you are. She needs to hear it from you.”
