Billie looked at him with tears starting to course down her cheeks. Jackson leaned over and cupped her face in his hands as they faced each other on their knees.

“Will you marry me, baby?” he asked softly.

Billie let out a gasp and flung herself into his waiting arms. “Yes, yes, and yes!” she cried into his mouth.

From the grove of trees, they heard loud hoots and hollering erupt. Some very loud, masculine voices yelled out, “It’s about time, you dumbass” and “It took you long enough.” Jackson chuckled into her mouth and held her against him as he slipped a gorgeous two-carat diamond setting onto her finger.

She heard the answer in her head to the question she had on her drive out to Wyoming. It took all that pain and a long road, but it had led her to her destiny. She knew how she had gotten here. She got here on her journey to find her happiness, she realized laughingly. It wasn’t too hard to figure out, after all. She had been destined to find her true self, and, just as luck would have it, Jackson was the one who led the way.
