Broken Vows (Domestic Discipline Romance) Page 36

Mila realized he was not pushing her, but letting her give without demanding more. She experienced a great sense of freedom and power. She was in control. She worked him and pleasured him until he was groaning and pulsating with need.

Within seconds of an ejaculation, he pulled his shaft from her mouth and drew her up to his chest. He came as he held her hard against him, his erection seeking the warmth of her body even if he could not be in it.

"Hallelujah," Kevin moaned burying his face into her wet hair. "Do you know how long I have wanted this?"

"I can guess," teased Mila. "It was quite an eruption." She stepped into the force of the water washing quickly and stepping out of the shower.

Kevin watched her, a little confused. "Where are you going?"

Mila hesitated. "To get dressed, we are sort of done here."

Kevin turned off the water and stepped out. He wrapped a dry towel around Mila's head and another one loosely around her body. "Not by a long shot, sweetheart," Kevin countered as he lifted and carried her to the bed. He pulled the towel away from her body, "My turn."

Jenny's throat was not as sore the next morning. She gargled and took her prescription. However, as she set down the pill bottle, she knocked a bottle of shampoo to the floor. She sighed and observed the small bathroom. It was not a space she would miss when they moved into the main house.

Josh had helped put her demons to rest last night, mostly by his gentleness. This morning he had led her down a different path altogether. They had awakened at five and challenged each other for several hours afterward. She inspected herself in the long narrow mirror behind the door. She was glowing again. She always glowed when sexually sated. Her bottom was pink, her breasts, and nipples a little swollen. It would not be long before they would become too sensitive for rough play. She splayed her hands across her flat stomach. This too would change. She had asked the doctor to take a pregnancy test before he decided on what medication to give her for laryngitis. It was positive.

They had not planned on another child so soon, but Adam was approaching his second birthday. Originally, their reluctance to have another child was all about finances, which was certainly not an issue any longer.

Josh would be thrilled, but Jenny wanted to keep the news to herself until her voice returned. She would not write him a note about this!

As she opened the bathroom door, Adam streaked down the hall as fast as his little-naked self could run with Buddy alongside him. Josh was in hot pursuit. He scooped Adam into his arms and hung him upside down while their little nudist giggled and squealed. Josh returned Adam to the bedroom for clothing. It was becoming a contest of wills to keep clothing on him since he had mastered buttons and pull-tabs.

Jenny wrote a note to give Josh. They had to research baby gates before moving into the main house. She could not have a two-year with the free rein of a four thousand square foot house. At his age, containment was the key.

Jenny had breakfast started by the time Josh came down with the kids and the dog. Everyone would be starving this morning as last night's activities had pushed dinner well into the evening. She had fed the kids a snack of cheese and crackers, thinking the police would leave soon, but they had not. By the time they did get around to eating, Emmie and Adam were dosing off.

"Pancakes and scrambled eggs," Josh questioned after he imprisoned Adam in his highchair.

Jenny nodded and wrote down on her pad. "Kids are hungry!"

"Me too," he answered before frowning when he noticed the broken glass in the sink. He had forgotten to clean it up the night before. "Don't touch the glass, I'll get it."

He went out, soon returning with the shop vacuum. He removed the largest pieces of glass before sticking the vacuum hose down the garbage disposal to make sure nothing was there.

There was a quick knock, and Mila came in followed by Kevin.

"Is everyone okay this morning?" Kevin asked plopping himself on a bar stool where Buddy came to greet him snuffling softly.

"I'll help," Mila said joining Jenny. "Are you okay?"

Jenny nodded and smiled absentmindedly, and then her eyes widened as she examined her sister more closely.

  "What?" Mila demanded.

Jenny snagged Josh's arm and handed him the pancake flipper spatula. She grabbed her pad and pen and pulled Mila around the corner to the closed-in porch.

"Uh, okay," said Josh looking at the griddle in consternation.

"Need some help there?" Kevin asked with a grin.

"If you know how to flip pancakes, yeah," Josh said, handing over the tool he had never used in his life.

Jenny dragged Mila around the corner and shut the door. "You had sex," she whispered hoarsely.

Mila blushed. "How do you know?" she demanded in a whisper.

"I…," Jenny made a frustrated face when only the single syllable came out. She wrote down. "I can tell! Too soon," she warned.

Mila held her ground. "We didn't do that kind of sex!" she whispered, more color rising on her face.

Jenny wrote quickly on her pad, "Orgasm?"

"Many," Mila admitted a little proudly.

Jenny jumped happily, hugged her sister, and wrote, "Do you love him?"

Mila nodded, "I think I do."

Jenny hugged her again and wrote, "Happy!"

"Me too," Mila exclaimed hugging her sister back. "How could you tell?"

Jenny laughed soundlessly, dragged her sister in front of a mirror, and held up a note. "Orgasmic glow."

"Oh, my God," Mila exclaimed. "I do glow!" She turned to her sister pointing her finger at her. "You glow all the time."

Jenny gave her sister a smug look.

Mila put her hands to her face, "Oh, no. If you glow and I glow, Josh will know, won't he?"

Jenny was chuckling as she wrote another note. "Men know. It's a macho point of pride."

"How long does it last?" Mila demanded.

Jenny scribbled down a note and handed it to her sister, "Hopefully forever."

After breakfast, the men returned to the issues at hand. Kevin signaled two of his men from the crew and told them to work separately to search and find any possibilities of entry into all three houses.

Mr. Mitchim called with three additional six-digit numbers to try on the vault. Josh and Kevin went down into the vault area and tried all the combinations they had, the ones they had already tried the day before, along with the new ones. None of them worked.

Josh called a vault company explaining he had a vault in his house he needed to open. They forwarded him to a specialist in Farmington who could do the job. Unfortunately, he was on a hunting trip and would not return for another week.

"I thought hunting season was over," Josh grumbled to Kevin.

"It is for most things. I think the only season open now is for mountain lion."

"We have mountain lions here?" Josh questioned in disbelief.

Kevin grinned. "We'll make a mountain man out of you, yet. Yes, there are mountain lions, although we rarely see or hear them in the populated areas. You have to realize a good chunk of this state is still wilderness, even though we humans encroach on it every day."

Mila spent a lot of time on the phone. A surprising amount of people whom they had met in and around Durango had read in the newspaper about the break-in and shooting. They called to express concern, as well as satisfy their curiosity. Chief Michaels had not released any information about the vault they discovered, but it was only a matter of time until word leaked out since so many knew about it now. Jenny was unable to answer the phone, so Mila had to handle the calls.

Josh and Jenny were communicating with his family members via Skype to plan the reunion for the first week of February. They had also invited Mila and Kevin. The only one who would not make it was Vanessa's husband as he had a Doctor's Mission previously scheduled at the same time. The chalet would be beyond the maximum capacity, allowed for renters, but the
y weren't renters, they were family. Vanessa would take the den with its convertible couch and the kids could bunk on inflatable beds and in sleeping bags. Kevin volunteered to borrow them from his extended family since they had quite a few. From his experience, he knew kids loved the idea of sleepovers and it was usually the more, the merrier.

After only a few days, everyone's daily routines were back to normal. Kevin began repairing the damage to the library. Josh ordered every possible improvement to ensure no one ever got trapped again in the secret room. Kevin and Mila put their heads together to update the moving bookcase with state-of-the-art mechanisms and safety releases, both on the inside and outside of the secret room. When Kevin rebuilt the back of the bookcase, he inserted a removable panel no one would know about except him, Mila, Jenny, and Josh. He rewired the electric since it was thirty years old, and installed safety lights with backup batteries.

Josh felt a little guilty but was secretly glad Jenny could not talk or argue about his increased security precautions. The Home Secure Company was installing perimeter cameras outside and inside the house. Jenny was not at all happy about having cameras inside her home, although there were only three in the main living spaces. Josh was still working to convince her that the inside cameras would only be activated by them and no one else. He demonstrated the controls to her and promised the cameras were only for their safety when the men were not there. So far, she was still angry and had given him a two-page written diatribe about the invasion of personal space. He had not convinced her yet.

The property surveillance was now out of testing and operational. The system would observe both wildlife and human trespassing. Each camera no longer ran 24/7 as they had during the test period. Now, the ring of cameras ran on a continuous random program of ten seconds of video for each camera. The company had written a program to search the incoming video for any instances of a breach and flag it for human visual inspection. Josh would know in less than twenty-four hours if anyone attempted to cut, climb, or jump the fence from the outside. He would hear about it and have visual proof.

Considering the apprehended poachers now awaited trial along with Blake Parker, some might view the entire system as overkill and a waste of money. Josh chose to consider the constant vigilance a necessity for the safety of his family.

After weeks of uncertainty and what seemed an endless stream of problems, life suddenly became very mundane. Peak Designs' commitment to the Richfield Towers Project was progressing on schedule. Legal teams from both sides were reviewing the contracts. So far, the legal eagles had raised no red flags only noting a few typos.

Josh spent his working hours on the computer, handling finances, designs, and staying in constant contact with his partners. He was also acting as a recruiter calling old associates and co-workers to see if they would consider employment with Peak Designs. Gene Lincoln, his friend from Pugh and Barkley, had used his portion of the settlement to pay off debts, and had left DQ&H for another firm. He told Josh he would give them a one-week notice and join Peak Designs in Colorado as soon as they said the word. He would live at an Extended Stay Hotel until he could move his family. Brice was getting similar responses from his contacts, which led to a discussion on relocation expenses incurred by their handpicked candidates. If Peak Designs were to live up to the ideals they professed, they would have to absorb some of those costs.

The partners were not making promises or verbal agreements with anyone, yet. They were only networking to discuss the possibility of future employment with viable candidates. They would still have to conduct interviews, perform HR evaluations, and make final hiring decisions. However, laying the groundwork in advance would save time in the end.

Josh called his old friend, Lamarr Winston, and tentatively offered him a position as Chief of Security for their new company. Lamarr suggested Josh call his brother who was a self-employed small business owner with three large moving vans, who could possibly help move employees across the country at a family discount.

Jenny had to email typed answers to a long, drawn-out deposition for one of the credit card companies affected by the fraud. Someone there seemed to believe her laryngitis was too convenient, even though she had faxed the company a copy of her doctor's diagnosis. They had even hired a local attorney to witness her deposition. When she was finally done, she went into her studio and worked for hours before resurfacing.

Jenny wanted to talk to Mila, really talk to her. She could see her sister was happy, but the note writing was ridiculous. She wanted in-depth details. Mila went home every evening with Kevin and returned every morning glowing. If a man could glow, Kevin was doing a good job of it too. The man was happy and relaxed as he and Mila finished the majority of the painting in the upstairs bedrooms of the main house.

Jenny had begged off and offered to watch Little Kevin in the studio along with her two children. He was no problem since he still slept most of the time. Emmie was especially good at putting his pacifier back in his mouth if he lost it and Buddy seemed to think it was his duty to bark every time the baby made a sound. She would call Mila's cell if her baby needed to nurse. Jenny was accomplishing a lot with her artwork, but she had wanted to be in on the painting stage of her house. She and Josh had planned the decorating together, yet now he was busy with his new company, and she was pregnant. She would not take a chance being around the paint and solvent fumes.

They had selected new furniture, which was being held for delivery until they were ready for it. A freight company had delivered their belongings from Connecticut and it was in a storage unit. Whatever they did not use of their Connecticut belongings, they would send out to auction.

Four days into her forced silence, Jenny realized she was cranky. She could have told people to blame it on her hormones, except she could not tell anyone she was pregnant yet. She wanted to tell her husband first, only not in a note. She had not lost her voice for this long since she was in college.

Mila and Jenny planned an afternoon in town. Kevin volunteered his Mom and Dad as babysitters since he wanted his father to look at the work they had done on the main house. While he gave his Dad the grand tour, his Mom could watch the kids. That precipitated a dinner invite to the senior Carters. Josh told his wife to go ahead since the senior Carters were running late. He would watch the kids until Kevin's parents arrived.

Mila put Little Kevin in a sling carrier and grabbed his diaper bag, and she and Jenny headed out in the Land Rover. When they got to town, Mila announced she had a doctor appointment, one she had not mentioned earlier. Jenny shrugged and took advantage of it to make an appointment for herself while she waited for Mila. The nurses had no problem following her written note: Laryngitis, pregnant, confirmed by Dr. Frost, need initial appointment. The nurses made the appointment before a preoccupied Mila reappeared.

They stopped at the gallery where Jenny held a complicated one-sided conversation with Julia and showed her sketches of pieces she wanted to create for her showing. She also dropped off five new pieces for sale. Julia had another check for her, so their next to last stop was at the bank where Jenny opened an account in her name only. They ended their errands at the grocery store.

Although her day had gone well, Jenny found she was still in a mood. She especially wanted to know why Mila looked so strange when she came out of the doctor's office. Since she was driving, Jenny whipped into a parking lot and stopped.

"What's wrong that you had to go to the doctor?" Jenny demanded of her sister.

  "You're not supposed to…"

"Talk, I know," Jenny said. What little voice she had regained, became raspy. "I'm sick of it!"

  "Please, don't."

"Then, tell me what's going on with you?" Jenny pleaded.

"Only if you promise to stop talking."

  Jenny nodded acquiescence.

"There's nothing wrong." Mila admitted. "I went to the doctor today to confirm I'm cleared for take-off."

  "What? Ooh…"

  "Oh, is right,"
exclaimed Mila happily.

Jenny grabbed her pad to write, "So, it's still good with Kevin?"

"Good comes nowhere near describing it," Mila admitted. "I don't think I'm in love, I know I'm in love." Mila suddenly looked worried. "I want to be with him so badly, yet at the same time, I'm a little nervous."

  "Why?"

Mila shrugged. "I'm not as pretty as you. Besides, I'm flabby from having a baby five weeks ago. We've been doing a lot of other things, but…."

Jenny hugged her sister and started the Land Rover, but as she pulled out of the parking lot, she headed in the opposite direction.

"You're going the wrong way," Mila told her.

Jenny shook her head no, as she drove to a side street in town where she pulled in front of Sinful Angel and parked. She jumped out of the vehicle.

"Jen, I've never worn much of this kind of stuff," Mila exclaimed. "I'm the tomboy, remember? G.I. Jane. I have a set of sexy underwear in my dresser that I've never even worn."

Jenny did not bother with her pad and pen. She linked her arm through her little sister's and said in a whispery voice, "You are a beautiful woman who needs to feel like one. Sexy intimate wear makes you feel like a Goddess and look like one to your man."

Jenny was not embarrassed in the shop this time. She supervised her sister's purchases while also selecting a few pieces for herself. She was slowly replacing all her utilitarian bras and panties with sexy items. The hot look in Josh's eyes as he watched her dressing or undressing was worth the indulgence."

Mila spent more on a few pieces of sinful garments than she had probably spent on all her underwear purchases since she had left home at eighteen. She typically bought panties in packages of six, and bras as buy-one-get-one deals. She had secretly admired herself in the dressing room mirror. What the sexy pieces did for her lanky body was amazing. At these prices, Kevin had better sit up and take notice!

The senior Carters had arrived, but Gina was disappointed Jenny and Mila had taken the baby with them.

"It's easier for Mila to keep him with her since she is his breakfast, lunch and dinner," Kevin explained. "You'll get plenty of time with him later."
