Rogue: The Sons of Dusty Walker Page 16

by Hunter, Sable

“Open up,” he moaned and she spread her legs wider, giving him more access. The noises of his appreciation made her shiver. Rogue knew how to please a woman, and Kit was grateful the woman was her. With a whimper she surrendered, tangling her tongue with his, arching against him and rubbing her breasts back and forth against the hard muscles of his chest, scrubbing and gyrating on the hard cock nudging between her legs.

“I need your hands on me,” Kit begged.

Rogue raised his head, taking in air in harsh gasps. “I have to be careful of you, I have to protect you,” he whispered, his eyes searching her face before he slanted his mouth over hers for another consuming kiss.

Kit couldn’t wait, she slid her hands between them and started unbuttoning her shirt. “My nipples ache, Rogue.” Her breath hitched as he rose up to help, spreading her shirt and pushing up her bra. As he did that, she worked below the waist, undoing her pants and wiggling her hips to get them down just enough and off.

“You have the sweetest nipples,” he muttered, watching them bead, harden and swell.

Kit never knew she could be so aroused. The way he stared at her, as if he had to have her, made her almost crazy with need. “Suck them.” She made a demand of her own.

Licking his lips, he swooped down, latched onto her nipple and drew it deep into his mouth, suckling hard.

She couldn’t keep quiet, it felt too good. Every tug he made on her nipple, she felt it directly on her clit. Rogue held her tight, grunting his enjoyment as he all but swallowed her tit. The intense pleasure made it impossible for her to think. She weaved her fingers in his hair and yanked him even closer. Like he couldn’t get enough, Rogue moved to her other breast, licking and abrading it with his teeth before sucking it hard into his mouth.

Kit almost swooned. She never knew her nipples were so sensitive, but Rogue showed her she was capable of feeling so much more than she ever dreamed. She reveled in his attention and he didn’t let up, Rogue kept coming back for more and more. He kissed, nuzzled and nursed, sucking at her tits until her nipples were red and throbbing. Her pussy was pulsing, her whole sex ached with hunger for him. “Rogue!”

“Ask me,” he instructed. “Tell me what you want.”

She started to say ‘fuck me’, but she couldn’t get the words out. That’s not what she wanted. Kit wanted it all. With a pang of loss, she knew she wasn’t going to get it – but she could have this much. “Make love to me, Rogue. I need you.”

Her entreaty inflamed him. His hand moved down to the tiny pair of panties covering her mound. He wound his fingers in the thin silk covering her crotch, twisted and ripped them from her body. “Now, let me see how much you want me.” They both moaned when he dipped between her thighs and found the hot creamy center of her. She jerked at his touch. “Want me to make you cum?”

Kit felt shameless. “I want you inside me, please.” In answer, he came over her, covering her mouth, pushing it wide with lips and tongue, claiming her whole body with one demanding kiss.

Rogue prepared her to accept him. His fingers rubbed her clit as his mouth glided from her mouth back to her nipple. He sucked at the hard crest as he massaged her pussy, the silkiness of her slit slick with cream. When he couldn’t stand it one more moment, he took his rod in hand and stroked it. He was thicker and harder than he’d ever been. “You’re killing me, Kit-Kat.”

When she spread her legs wide, thrust up her hips and gazed up at him in wonder, he knew it was time. Situating himself between her legs, Rogue fit himself against her small hole. Just one touch and they both gasped with anticipation.

  “Now!” she demanded.

Rogue growled, tossed his head back and bucked forward. Sliding into her tight heat, he immersed himself in ecstasy. He held still until the hunger became so wild, he lost control. With a savage grunt, he exploded. Rogue couldn’t take her fast enough or fuck her hard enough, he wanted to be so deep inside of her that he couldn’t tell where one of them began and the other ended. Shoving in and pulling out, he took them both on a wild ride. “Damn, baby,” he whispered, every other woman he’d ever been with paled in comparison to this. She was his dream girl, his wet dream girl.

“More, more, more,” she chanted as she pressed her body upward, her pussy tightening around him like a tiny fist. He plowed into her like this was the last fuck he’d ever have. Electric sensation raced through his body. Holding her tight, he set a desperate rhythm. Good God, she was destroying any self-control he pretended to have with her. Framing her face, he took her mouth again, finding out it was imperative to take her in every way possible. As his tongue speared into her mouth, his cock set the rhythm and she writhed beneath him—arching, moaning and blushing like a rose.

What drove Rogue crazy was that Kit didn’t hide how she felt. With her fingers digging into his shoulders and her legs lifting to cradle his hips, her keening cries of ecstasy were as great a gift as the electric bliss sizzling through his own body.

  “Rogue! I need to…”

“Come for me, Kit.” She was writhing beneath him and he didn’t let up even as she tightened around him. What he was feeling was more - the pleasure didn’t just burn, it flamed, removing any memory of any other time, any other woman. His balls were heavy, tight with the need to explode.

  “Yes!”

She screamed, bucking up and Rogue held her, the pressure inside him giving way. He plowed deeper, laying his face next to hers on the blanket, his breath coming in heaving pants. And then it happened—a release of ecstasy so powerful he couldn’t contain it. “Kit, Kit, baby.” Something inside him eased—an empty place filled and questions were answered. He couldn’t comprehend it, all he knew was that holding Kit in his arms felt right.

When they’d recovered, Rogue rose and held out his hand. “Let me help you up.”

Kit rose to her feet. They avoided one another’s eyes as they straightened their clothes. “Thanks.” She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she could sense something had shifted. “Let me set the food out.”

“I’ll help.” They sat down and spread out the goodies. “What did you make?”

“Steak sandwiches, German potato salad and Triple Chocolate Brownies.”

Rogue was impressed. “Sounds great.” He chuckled.

  “What are you laughing at?”

“I have to tell you, for a guy, a picnic is not something we normally look forward to.”

“Oh, really.” Kit held a bottle of lemonade, still partially frozen. For a moment she considered whacking him with it. “So, when I suggested we have a picnic, you dreaded it?”

“Well, yea.” Rogue grinned. “Until I decided to rope you and have my way with you.”

  She shook her head. “Men.”

“The steak and brownies help too.”

“Well, I’m glad I could provide you with a modicum of entertainment,” she said dryly. Searching for something else to say, Kit stared out onto the tall Kansas grass, their own version of amber waves of grain. She had no idea what caused the shift in his mood, but she did know what had changed for her.

Just what she’d been afraid of. Kit was in love.

  With Rogue Walker.

“I’m going to put some of those things we talked about in motion while I’m here.” Rogue began to remind her of what they’d talked about. “Get the agreement drawn up, order a sound system and get some advertising and a website started. The payoff on those things should be fairly immediate.”

Her mind wasn’t exactly on business, instead she latched onto the phrase ‘while I’m here’. “How long will you be staying?” She did her best to keep all emotion out of her voice.

“I have to fly back to Texas tomorrow for a couple of days, then I’m coming back.”

“You have to check on Jester.” She smiled, hearing he had plans to return soon, but knowing she’d miss him.

Rogue nodded. “Yes, Jester, my mother and my business.”

“When you come back, feel free to stay in one of the
cabins,” Kit said in a rush. “Or you could stay with me if you’d rather.” She felt like a teenager offering to do a guy’s homework.

Rogue’s answer took a few moments before he voiced it. “Thanks, but I’ll be staying at Dusty’s house over on Osprey Lake. It’s one of the stipulations of the will.”

“Oh,” Kit said flatly. “Good.” She tried to brighten her tone and not let her disappointment show.

Rogue felt like he was on one of those amusement park rides where you’re slung from the left to the right, then sent spinning around in circles, leaving you with your stomach clinging to your backbone for dear life. He wanted to run away from this woman as fast as his feet could carry him and he also wanted to grab Kit up and take her back to bed. “I’ll call you,” he offered.

  Relief flooded her heart. “Okay.”

“After all, we’re partners,” he said before taking the last bite of brownie.

“Right.” Rogue had just burst her bubble and didn’t even know it. “Partners.”

  CHAPTER TEN

“Is that all you can give me?” Dave Parker stood at the counter of a Wichita pawn shop with Will Ross’s guns. He’d slipped back into the main house while Sheila had been asleep and lifted everything of value he could find. Knowing her, it’d be days till she noticed anything was missing. She was too caught up in her own little world to be very observant.

“Yep, what you have here is more functional than collectible.” The clerk soothed a hand down the barrel of a Holland and Holland shotgun.

Dave felt like the man was pulling his leg, but he had no choice. “All right. I’ll take it.”

Seeing a gullible prospect, the clerk leaned forward and whispered, “If you’re short of cash, you can talk to a friend of mine. He’d be willing to make you a short term loan?”

“Oh, yea?” Dave knew better, but he pressed on. “Who?”

“My cousin, here’s his card. Give him a call.”

Taking the card, Dave glanced at it. “Rex Ranford, Quick Cash, No Credit Checks.” The very paper it was printed on felt greasy. “Thanks, I might do that.”

Pocketing the money the pawn shop clerk gave him for the guns, he turned to go. Going to a loan shark wasn’t the smartest idea, but beggars couldn’t be choosers.

Once in his truck, he stared out the windshield. The weather was so hot, the concrete sidewalks might soon melt and buckle. Last night he’d dreamed about days long past, when he and Will Ross had been young. Dave had been the one who was courting Sheila, admittedly with dollar signs rather than stars in his eyes. When Sheila turned her roving eye to Will, Dave had begun to hate him. And when Will married Sheila, earning her devotion and her father’s inheritance, that act proved to be the last straw as far as Dave was concerned.

Dusty Walker had also been their running buddy. When Dusty, like Will, had married for money, Will had been the first to tell him he’d be sorry. Hypocrite. And the word currently spreading through town proved that Ross had been right. Dusty had spread his seed around as liberally as a farmer planting corn. Four women and four sons. Dave had no idea if Theresa had known. Who knows? Maybe they had been arguing when the car crashed.

Slowly, he lifted the phone and slowly he dialed the number. Maybe this would be his lucky break. It was his turn. Over the years their fortunes had taken different directions. While Will and Dusty seemed to have the Midas touch, Dave’s luck had soured. The more he gambled the more he lost. Will had even taken pity on him, buying his land and having Dave owner- finance it. Will had the audacity to tell Dave that he wanted to do it that way so Dave would always be assured of having money coming in every month.

“Ranford.” The brusque voice sent chills down Dave’s spine.

“Yea, this is Dave Parker. I’m calling about a loan.”

  “Good. How much?”

As Dave made the deal and arranged for pick-up, his mind went back to Will Ross. He hadn’t proved to be Dave’s friend. Their friendship had gone on the skids when Will and Dusty had pooled their funds to invest in Lucius Angelo’s venture. Dave had told them there was no oil in that dry well. He had nothing to chip in but hard feelings. And Dave had been proved right, but not in the way he’d hoped. The field had no oil in it, but it turned out to be one of the biggest gas finds that the country had ever seen. Lucius had always had a sense of humor, he’d called the field Rogue Angel, a play on his name being so closer to Lucifer and his station before the fall. Now no one called the field by the name Lucius gave it, now they just affectionately called it ‘Hell’.

And hell was what Dave had. Jealousy ate at him like a cancer, especially after he learned that Dusty and Will had cashed out of the operation, hiding their profits from Uncle Sam by taking bearer bonds, a half million dollars’ worth of bearer bonds each. Everyone knew what Dusty did with his, he added it to Theresa’s money and built Walker Mineral.

But Will…Will was a different story. The only thing he’d spent money on had been that damn horse he’d bought and named after the gas field. Even when he’d almost lost the ranch, had to sell his cattle, he’d been careful and conservative. Once Will had fathered that daughter, Katherine, he’d settled down.

But those bonds, those bonds existed. And Dave wanted them. He deserved them. Will had been in the way and Dave had gotten rid of him. It had been fairly easy. A little tampering with the brakes at just the right time and Will and that stupid horse had run off the road on Half Moon curve and plowed straight into a tree. After that, it had been fairly easy to reassert himself back into Sheila’s life.

Cranking up his truck, Dave headed to where the loan shark had told him to go. This was his final shot and he knew it. Something had to work, the odds were in his favor. For the last three years he’d turned White-Wing upside down looking for those bearer bonds. He’d convinced Sheila to let him renovate the house, even getting her to sign a note for the funds. Dave had given her a sappy story how he wanted their marriage to be free of memories, make their own place. And as the workers had gone from phase to phase, he’d been there first, searching under every floor board and behind every wall.

Nothing. The bonds weren’t in the main house. Now he knew where they had to be. That bitch of a daughter had to have them. The ironic thing was that she didn’t know it. If she had, she would’ve used them to get herself and the ranch out of hock instead of scrimping and working herself to death with those stupid horses.

So, he had to get rid of Katherine. He hadn’t been so lucky the night he’d stuck a sharp skewer in her tires, she should’ve had a blowout. Instead, she’d been rescued by Dusty Walker’s bastard.

Next time she wouldn’t be so lucky.

  * * *

When Rogue got back to Texas, a few things surprised him. First, Elijah had stepped up and filled his shoes admirably. Second, Jester had thoroughly charmed his mother and last but not least…

  He missed Kit.

He couldn’t stop thinking about her.

Taking a break, he slipped off to his office and placed a call to her. It rang five times. Finally, she answered with a giggle. “Hello?”

“You sound happy. What’s going on?”

“Rogue, hey!” She giggled again. “I’m so glad to hear from you.”

“Sounds like it. What are you doing?”

“I’m showing Garth around.” Another giggle.

  “Who’s Garth?” Rogue wasn’t smiling.

“Oh, you know Garth Busch, running back for the Kansas City Chiefs.” An additional giggle rang in his ear like tinkling bells. “He came to check out White-Wing, they’re thinking of giving a hunt as part of an incentive program.”

“Ah, yea.” Okay, this sucked. “I talked to a friend of mine at a travel agency in Austin. He said he’d put it on some trip adviser sites. I’m sure that’s where the recommendation came from.” Great, he had tried to do a good deed and lured a damn football player in to hit on his girl.

Whoa! His girl? Rogue rubbed his head.

  “Thank
you, Rogue,” she said sweetly. “Can I call you later? Garth and the guys are waiting on me.”

“Sure thing,” he said, so jealous he knew his skin matched his eyes. “Bye.”

She said goodbye too, but it was fleeting and accompanied by male laughter.

  Dammit.

Back in Kansas, Kit wasn’t having nearly the good time she pretended to be having. The players were nice enough, but they were asking for things she didn’t know if she could provide. When Rogue called, she’d wanted to throw the whole weight on his shoulders and ask him to take care of it.

But she couldn’t. He was putting in money and that’s more than she could hope for. A few days ago, at the picnic, she’d presumed too much, offering to let him stay with her. Who was she kidding? She was really asking him into her bed—again.

And he’d said no. Rather easily and smoothly. No. Rogue had said there was a stipulation in Dusty’s will that he had to stay at his father’s house. Could that be true?

  Maybe.

Either way, he wasn’t here, he wouldn’t be here and she had to stand on her own two feet.

Rogue Angel wouldn’t be taking care of her.

Immediately a contrite feeling filled her. He’d done more for her than any other man other than her father. She was just greedy. After having a taste of life with Rogue, she wanted it all.

After she had escorted the committee from the Chiefs to the dining hall and seen that they were served, she had answered a call from her mother. One that she had ignored twice already. “Hello?”

“Katherine, your father’s guns are gone. Did you take them?”

“No.” Kit assured her. “I didn’t. They’re gone?”

“Yes.” Sheila’s voice rose. “Do you think I’ve been burglarized? There’s no sign of a break-in.”
