His phone beeped and he grabbed it out of his pocket. He didn’t recognize the number but it seemed to be Sarah. ‘hey, come out to the garden. I found something really neat’ Strange girl, she could have just called out to me. He jumped up and strode out to the back. It was dark but he thought he saw something in the tree. He jogged along the stone pathway. “Sarah, where are you?”
He jumped the little white picket fence into the garden and looked around. What the hell?He saw a body, wrapped in something swinging from a large trees branch. His phone fell out of his hand as long fingers grabbed him around the neck. A message flashed on the phone as the last breath left Jerry’s lungs. ‘Trick or treat’.
