Gamble (Nightforce Security Book 2)

She glanced toward the storeroom, then met his gaze. “Am I being too subtle?”
He chuckled. “No. But we’re not going in there again.”
The smile faded from her face.
“Cap was really pissed at me last time. Besides, I’d much rather have you in my bed. Or yours. Or any bed that’s close by.”
“Let’s get out of here, then.” She started pulling him toward the front door.
When he walked past the guys, Ethan flicked his hand like he was cracking a whip.
Noah didn’t care if he was whipped or not. He’d waited too long for this.
Outside, he guided her toward his car. Noah opened the door for her, and after she was seated, he rounded the hood and got in on the driver’s side. He turned to her. “Daphne, we’ve done this whole thing backward.”
“Our… relationship has been unconventional.”
“I still don’t know your last name.”
She looked down at her lap. “I was afraid to tell you. I didn’t want you to think I was involved with those guys.”
“I’d never think that.” He waited, but she still didn’t volunteer her name. “Well?”
Daphne sighed, then she met his gaze. “It’s Gamble. Daphne Gamble.”
Noah laughed. “No kidding?”
She shrugged, and a smile played across her face.
Noah leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. Things went from sweet to heat in a heartbeat. His tongue tangled with hers, and his hands started roaming her body. Damn center console was in his way, and he pulled back.
Her eyes were bright, her breasts heaving as she tried to catch her breath.
God, she was gorgeous. “You’re well worth the risk, Miss Gamble.”
“Glad you’re willing to play the game.”
“No games. Just one hand. And I’m all in.”
She grinned. “I’ll see that bet, frogman. Take me home.”
“My place isn’t far.”
“Good.”
Noah gunned the engine and peeled out of the parking lot. He’d hit the jackpot, and it was time to collect.
