Stripped Love #3 (BBW Alpha Male Romance) Page 5

I clicked on the attached link and my Smartphone instantly took me to the corresponding website for StarSizzle, a popular celebrity gossip site focused mainly on romantic affairs amongst movie stars, television personalities, musicians, and singers. I rolled my eyes and sighed with exasperation as I waited for the picture to load. Shawnee was obsessed with these stupid gossip websites and thought every new scandal was the most important story she’d ever seen. She was constantly emailing me and texting me over them, mistakenly thinking that I cared about who was dating who as much as she did. Only this time she was right.

When the image came fully into view I stifled a scream and nearly dropped my phone. It was a photo of Dimitri at an event held just two days ago and he was kissing another woman!

Thinking it had to be some kind of mistake, I clicked on the image to make it as large as possible. The male in the photo was undoubtedly Dimitri. His facial features were well defined and the resolution of the photo was crystal clear. There could be no denying it was him. The location of the picture was definitely the opening of the new dance club down by the studio. The banner and balloons all said “Club Chrome Grand Opening” and they had been advertising the date for weeks. I knew without a doubt that it happened two days ago. The woman in the picture was the only mystery.

She was tall, or perhaps just wearing very high heels. She had long auburn colored hair, but her eyes were closed, keeping me from knowing what color they were. She had a build fairly similar to mine, but with bigger tits and a smaller ass. I guessed right away that her breasts had been surgically enhanced, because any natural woman with tits that big would need a sturdier body frame with broader hips and a wider ass to properly support them. This skinny bitch probably had to keep lead weights in her back pocket to keep from tipping forward. I stared at her face, trying to identify who she was. The resolution of her features was as clear as Dimitri’s, and I knew from her profile that she wasn’t anyone famous in Hollywood yet, but she surely would be soon. Still, there was something strangely familiar about her, I just couldn’t figure out where I had seen her before.

Reducing the size of the picture, I read the article that accompanied it, although it was hard to see with tears blearing my vision. It said:

Fireworks on Set: Dimitri Morrison and the costar of his current film, Suzanna Blaze, are making sparks off the set as well as on. The couple were seen making out hot and heavy at the grand opening of Club Chrome, excusing themselves to a private booth behind closed curtains for more than forty-five minutes and coming out looking rumpled and smiling. It’s hard to choose which one is hotter, but their movie is sure to burn up in theaters for its release this Christmas.

I didn’t want to believe it, but there was the harsh truth right in front of me in black and white, with full color photos to back it up. How could I have been such an idiot to think that he could be falling in love with me? He had even forewarned me the day he came to my apartment that people in Hollywood will tell any disgusting lie they can to con you into thinking they shared your interests and that you had things in common. I bet those damned stories of his grandfather taking him fishing were all a lie just to get me into bed one more time, and I had fallen for it.

I even believed his outrageous lies about being the only girl he’d ever brought to his bedroom. He’d probably fucked hundreds of girls in there, and I was just one more notch on his belt: only I knew the angry words I was thinking weren’t true. They couldn’t be. The way his blue eyes had been so vulnerable and clear, I could see all the way through his heart into his soul. He had meant all the beautiful things he had said to me in that moment of vulnerability. He had opened up his true heart and confided in me his deep and personal stories.

Maybe I owed him the benefit of the doubt about StarSizzle. Digital technology was getting better and better every day, and editors now had the ability to put anyone’s face on any other person’s body, in any place, in any situation; and even the experts couldn’t always tell the difference.

Clutching my phone in my hands, I walked slowly through the vast and sprawling house back towards the sitting room to confront Dimitri and find out the truth. I felt like every step I took was bringing me closer to my doom, and I had to force myself to keep going. Up until the moment that Dimitri told me if he had kissed that girl or not, I could hold onto my doubt. Up until I heard him answer, I could tell myself that the photo was digitally altered, that it was all a lie created by some editor to make more money. I could keep believing that he loved me, that I was his girlfriend, and that what we had was meaningful and special. I could continue to live in the beautiful fantasy that I wasn’t alone and that someone as incredible and Dimitri thought there was something about me worth caring about.

“Ah, there you are!” Dimitri called out to me from the couch where we had fallen asleep in each other’s arms. He was sitting upright and looked as if he had just woken up. He smiled at me as I approached, but when he saw the expression on my face, he grew serious and patted the seat next to him, indicating for me to sit down. “Come here; what’s wrong?”

  “This is what’s wrong.”

I held out my phone to him and let him take a good look at the image of his lips locked onto Suzanna’s, with his left hand on her ass and his right hand around her waist. Swallowing hard against the lump in my throat, I choked back my tears and said, “Tell me this isn’t you. Tell me this is a fraud.”

Dimitri ran his hands through his hair and then brought them down to rub his face. He sighed a deep breath and said plainly, “It’s me. Suzanna and I had been working hard on the set all week and we wanted unwind and have a little fun.”

I couldn’t believe his wasn’t even denying it, and I was utterly aghast. Well I was glad he gave me enough respect not to try and lie to me, I was hoping that he would at least feel some sense of guilt or remorse; but he was utterly matter-of-fact about it, like there was nothing even wrong with it. Snatching my phone back angrily, and glared at him with open hostility. “Well, that’s some fun. The article says you guys practically had sex in a private booth in the club. Did you?”

“No; not in the club,” Dimitri said and I picked up on the crafty clarification.

“Not in the club? So you have fucked her?”

“Well, yeah. Of course,” Dimitri was so nonchalant about it, it made me sick. As far as he was concerned, it was just another day in the office and of course he fucked his costar. I was so livid with rage, I wanted to break something or scream. Instead, I concentrated on breathing and forced my fingers to unclench before I punched the arrogant asshole.

“What do you mean of course you fucked her?”

“Don’t go making a big deal out of this. It’s nothing. It doesn’t mean anything to me and I’m sure it doesn’t mean anything to her either. It’s just publicity and parties, and what you do to have fun.”

“Well, it may not mean anything to you; but it means something to me,” I said, and despite all my best efforts not to, I burst into tears. God, I hated that about myself. I wanted to put on a show of strength and confidence in front of this cheating asshole, and now I just looked weak and pathetic. Stiffening my spine, I choked back my tears and gave him my most fierce glare. “I suppose what we have together doesn’t mean anything either. That’s good to know. Goodbye Mr. Morrison. We’re through. Don’t ever coming knocking on my door ever again. You can get all the rest of your booty calls somewhere else.”

I turned on my heel and strode towards the front door, hoping I didn’t make a wrong turn down one of these hallways and ruin my dramatic exit. I could hear Dimitri tripping over his own feet as he chased after me, and it made me smile just a little. Served him right if he fell and busted his stupid nose.

“Avery, wait! I don’t understand what’s happening here. We had a great time yesterday. You told me it was the best day of your life, and to be honest, it was for me too. We never said we were exclusive. Hell, yesterday you even said yourself that you wouldn’t be my girlfriend
and we were just friends. Why are you so mad?”

Dimitri’s speech took all the fury out of my heart, but the pain and heartbreak remained. As I reached the door, I put my hand on the doorknob and thought about what he had said and I knew that he was right. I had been the one to say we weren’t dating, and we hadn’t promised to be exclusive, so maybe I didn’t have the right to accuse him cheating.

Releasing the doorknob, I turned to face Dimitri and said quietly, “You’re right, I did say all those things; but I can’t play this game you’re asking me to play. If I’m sleeping with a man, I have to know that I’m the only one he’s seeing. Yes, I said that I wouldn’t be your girlfriend yesterday morning; but all that changed when we spent the whole day together making love in your boat and again in your bed, and then falling asleep in each other’s arms on the couch all night long. For me, that meant that I was your girlfriend and for me that has to be an exclusive relationship. I’m sorry, but there’s just no other way for me.”

I stared at Dimitri, looking at him squarely as we faced each other from the short distance across the entrance hall. Long moments of silence passed as he absorbed my words and thought about them. Finally, he shoved his hands deep into his pockets, looked at me sadly and said, “I don’t know if I can do that. I want to be with you, but I’ve never tried tying myself down to just one woman and I wouldn’t even know how.”

It was all I needed to hear. I gripped the doorknob firmly, turned it and strode confidently out the door with my head held high. Just before I walked out, I turned to him and said softly, “Goodbye Dimitri. It was wonderful while it lasted, but the man I date won’t wonder if he can be faithful; he’ll know without a doubt that there is no other woman he wants but me.”

“Avery! Wait!” I could hear Dimitri calling for me with an anguished tone, but I just kept walking until I reached the end of his driveway, not looking back even once. The taxi cab I had called before searching for Dimitri in the house was already waiting for me there, and I climbed into the backseat and gave him my home address.

“Someone is running down the driveway for you miss; do you want me to wait?” the driver asked.

“No.” I said firmly. “Just drive. He’s nobody.”
