Hold Back The Dawn Page 31

by Duncan, Judith

Laughing shakily, Doris McRory also wiped her eyes. "If you keep this up, Constance, you'll have us all crying again."

Hal McRory smiled kindly at his wife and patted her shoulder. "There's nothing wrong with tears of happiness. It's so wonderful to see two people who are as happy as Leslie and Steve." He sighed and nodded his head with satisfaction. "It sure has been a very special day."

Many miles away, in a darkened hotel room, two very contented people lay wrapped in each other's arms, happiness eddying around them like a sun-dappled brook.

For them it had indeed been a special day, a day of love and laughter and the heartfelt good wishes of family and friends. It had been filled with the joy and expectations of a new beginning—a beginning that held all the splendor and beauty of a fresh spring dawn.
