A sob escaped her lips as she saw his eyes gazing at her.
“Sharif, I heard you say that you aren’t Rambo, but I say yes, yes you are!!" She said and saw the line of his lips move upwards as he almost managed a smile. He opened his eyes to gaze at her, but they were already empty and expressionless. Abigail laid her head on his chest and sobbed.
The rope ladder was pulled up and collected at the entrance as the helicopter ascended and rose high in the sky, carrying with it Judge Adam Ayalon, Advocate Abigail Ben-Nun and their savior, who had made the ultimate sacrifice.

The helicopter was still ascending when the printing presses were already clicking out the giant letters of the day’s newspaper headlines:
OUR HOSTAGES ARE COMING HOME, ALIVE
BUT BEARING THE BODY OF THEIR DEAD SAVIOR
In the ‘The Pit’ in the avenue of government offices in Tel-Aviv, two soldiers stood staring at Albert Einstein, who was weeping. Each of them raised a right arm and slapped the one facing him and cried out,
“We did it!!”
