  Marsha Mott Jordan (“If He Only Had a Brain”) created the Hugs and Hope Foundation for Critically Ill Children and is the author of Hugs, Hope, and Peanut Butter, the profits of which all go to sick children. Her writing has been published in several magazines, including Heartlight, Oba-diah, and Christian Voices. King Louie allows Marsha and her rocket scientist husband to share their home with him in Wisconsin.

  Brenda Kezar (“Beauty in the Beast”) is a writer and home-schooling mom in North Dakota. She and her husband have two daughters and share their home with two dogs, several cats, and an assortment of small animals. Between hairballs, she writes every chance she gets. Her work also appears in A Cup of Comfort® for Writers.

  Lyndell King(“Bloodlines and Heartstrings”) is a contemporary romance writer from Tasmania, Australia. She also writes for By Grace e-publishing. Her romantic suspense novel, Come to Heal, which has won several competitions, is currently being considered by Medallion Press. It will be released under her pen name, Babe King.

  Sue Lamoree (“My Saving Grace”) lives in Seattle, Washington, with her husband, her dog, Cinder, and a very large cat. After retiring from her career in finance, she now enjoys writing, horseback riding, and playing with Cinder. Her stories have appeared in Horse Crazy and The Healing Touch of Horses under the name Sue Hutchinson.

  Susan Luzader (“Doggie Do-Si-Do”) lives in Tucson, Arizona, with her husband, Randy, and two cattle dogs, Duchess and Leo. A charter member of the Fabulous Women Writing Group, she conducts workshops to help other writers build confidence and skills.

  Allison Maher (“The Tail of a Chesapeake”) lives on a fruit farm in Nova Scotia, Canada, with her two children and husband, David Bowlby. She writes articles for newspapers and magazines. Her first novel, I, The Spy, was published in spring 2006.

  Hope Irvin Marston (“Comrades”) is a retired junior high librarian and an awarding-winning author of two dozen children's books and two adult titles. She lives with her husband and their Bernese mountain dog in upstate New York. Her first novel for young adults, Margaret of the Killing Times, was recently released.

  Julie Matherly (“The Human Whisperer”) is a writer living in Florida with her husband and magical dog. She was the first-place romance novel winner in the 2005 Southwest Writers competition and essay winner in the 2005 Yosemite Writers Conference contest. She's also written a novel about the empowerment that can come from overcoming grief.

  Lad Moore(“A Leave from Absence”) enjoys hundreds of publishing credits and has earned several writing awards, including a nomination to the Texas Institute of Letters. His short stories have been published in several anthologies, including A Cup of Comfort® and Chicken Soup for theSoul, and two collections of his works are available through major booksellers. He resides in the historic steamboat town of Jefferson, Texas.

  Lori M. Myers (“Free Willy”), of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is an award-winning freelance writer with more than 700 articles, essays, and short fiction published in more than forty national and regional publications. She is the cofounder of the Central Pennsylvania Writers' Consortium and teaches writing workshops in the region.

  Ava Pennington (“Who's the Boss?”) resides in Stuart, Florida, with her husband, Russ. She holds an MBA from St. John's University and is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. A former human resources director, she spends her time teaching Bible studies, writing, and public speaking. Her articles and stories have appeared in magazines and anthologies.

  Marion Roach (“Dogs Who Do Things”) is the author of The Roots of Desire: The Myth, Meaning, and Sexual Power of Red Hair (Bloomsbury), coauthor of Dead Reckoning(Simon & Schuster), and the author of Another Name for Madness (Houghton Mifflin). She lives in upstate New York with her family.

  Julie Clark Robinson (“My Black-and-White Wonder”) is the author of Live in the Moment. Her work has appeared in Family Circle and several volumes of A Cup of Comfort®, and her column appears on several women's motivational Web sites. She lives in Hudson, Ohio, with her husband, two children, and their black Lab, Pal.

  Robert Rohloff (“Sonata for Bach”), a native of Nebraska who now resides in Canada, is a gourmet chef by trade. As a young man, he hitchhiked across Canada and most of the United States, an experience that taught him much about human nature. He credits his Bohemian ancestry for his gypsy soul and way of life.

  Marcia Rudoff (“The Rent Collector”) teaches memoir writing at the Bainbridge Island Senior Center (Washington State) and is a newspaper columnist for the Bainbridge Review. Her personal essays have appeared in Stories with Grace, Northwest Runner, The Seattle Times, and several anthologies, including A Cup of Comfort® for Inspiration, Rocking Chair Reader, Horse Crazy, and Classic Christmas.

  Gail Sattler (“Green Roof, Red Car, Dog on Roof”) resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she writes (quietly), plays the bass guitar (loudly), and doesn't have to shovel rain. She is the award-winning author of more than thirty books; the mother of three children; and the keeper of two schnauzers, one lizard, two toads, and a multitude of tropical fish, many of which have names.

  Laurie Alice Skonicki-Eakes (“Blind Trust”) is a full-time writer, whose publishing credits include one hardcover and two paperback novels as well as numerous articles and essays. Although she no longer runs, she loves to walk, read, and enjoy good conversation. She lives in northern Virginia with her husband and sundry animals.

  Tanya Sousa (“Sisters”) is a guidance counselor and writer living in Barton, Vermont. She writes for Dog and Kennel, The Canine Chronicle, and other dog magazines, and is the author of the how-to book Can Dogs Read? Starting and Implementing a Literacy Program(Cairn Terrier Publishing).

  Gretchen Stahlman (“Cosmic Changes”) is an award-winning technical writer in upstate New York. Beyond her left-brain work, she uses her right brain to write personal essays, columns, a memoir, a blog, and currently, a novel. Using both sides of her brain keeps her from wobbling so she won't fall down.

  Emily Alexander Strong (“A Heeling Heart”) divides her time between writing and raising her two young daughters, Eliza and Harper. Always the fair mom, she has published a story about each of them in It's a Girl and A Cup of Comfort® for Mothers-to-Be. She resides with her husband, Eric, and daughters in Ashland, Oregon.

  Amy Walton (“A Gift Returned”), of Virginia Beach, Virginia, is the single mother of two sons, an army officer and a high school soccer player. She's also the proud “mom” of a slightly overweight Dalmatian, who has stolen her heart. When not giving him belly rubs or taking him on long walks, she is a museum educator, freelance newspaper columnist, and TV anchor.

  Samantha Ducloux Waltz (“Converting Ray”) is a freelance writer in Portland, Oregon. Her work can be seen in a number of anthologies, including several volumes of the Cup of Comfort ® series, and in The Christian Science Monitor. She has also published fiction and nonfiction under the name Samellyn Wood. She and her husband, Ray, share Annie, a golden retriever, and Naomi, a black kitty. Samantha's horse, Vida, lives nearby.

  Dallas Woodburn (“Sweeter Than Ice Cream”) has published two collections of short stories, and her work has appeared in several magazines, including Family Circle, Writer's Digest, Cicada, and Writing. She is the founder of Write On!, a nonprofit organization that encourages kids to read and write. She is working toward a creative writing degree at the University of Southern California.
