Galen gently squeezed her. “I have you in my den.” He brushed a kiss on her new wound. “My claiming bite on your shoulder.” He lifted her left hand, running his fingers over hers. “Now I only need to put my ring on your finger and I will have everything,” he murmured.
Her heart stuttered and then raced. “Was that a proposal?”
“No. A statement. You will wear my ring. No arguments.” His words were solid and unbending and…
Perfect.
Epilogue
Stefano tumbled tail-over-head, running so fast his small puppy paws tripped over each other. By the time his small back landed on the pale sand, he was wearing his skin once again. No one had told her a werewolf toddler began shifting at such a young age. The first time she’d gone to his crib for a midnight feeding and found a whimpering fur covered wolf pup she screamed down the house.
Nearly all the males had come running, Galen leading the pack and immediately followed by both Leo and Stavros. The men had become little Stefano’s godfathers, and Leo was now the first to offer to escort her wherever she had to go.
The moment he’d understood Andrea’s machinations, he’d dropped to his knees with an apology for his behavior. Galen had ached to tear the man’s throat out, but Lissa was touched by the man’s loyalty to his Alpha. Now she couldn’t go anywhere without him or Stavros tripping her up. Even now, both men lazed nearby, each of them wearing their fur as they rested in the shade of a large umbrella. If they were bound and determined to accompany her, they were going to at least be comfortable.
Her son quickly rolled to his feet, short legs moving a mile a minute as he raced over the sand. He shot toward the ocean, dropping to four feet as he struck the water line and bounced amongst the waves. The nanny was immediately at his side, scooping him into her arms and tossing the wriggling bundle in the air with a laugh. Now he released a few short barks and then howled with his happiness. She and Galen had made a beautiful child, quick to smile and extremely protective of those he loved just as he had been when she carried him for nine months.
“Papa!” Her son wiggled and the nanny immediately lowered him to the ground. The boy shot toward the steps that led from the top of the cliff down to their small beach. “Papa! Papa! Did you see?”
Lissa turned slightly in her comfortable chair and smiled when she spotted her mate—her husband—grasp their child and lift him high above his head. “I did see, agoraki mou.” He tossed him up once again and then cuddled him close. “My fierce little wolf.”
Galen’s words had the same reaction as always. Stefano picked up a low growl and bared his small teeth at his father, nipping at his fingers. “I’m a big wolf. Mama, tell Papa I’m a big wolf.”
Shaking her head, she smiled at her mate. Two years. Roughly two years since she’d run from him, been dragged back, and after removing Andrea from their lives, she’d given birth to this beautiful child.
And would soon have another. She placed her hand on her still flat stomach, internally smiling at the soft flutter that met her touch. “Of course you’re a big wolf, only big wolves get to be big brothers.”
