“We might have this kid in the parking lot.” She clenched her jaw shut as the contractions took over her body with less time to recover. Zac yanked out his phone and tapped for a second then put it to his ear.
“I need you to bring towels, hot water, and a freaking blanket to the parking lot. No, I’m not joking, the baby is coming early.”
“Holy shit, dude. Finally going to be a dad.” She hoped her mate didn’t share the sentiment of his brother.
“I’ve been a dad for a while now, fucker,” Zac snapped back as he exited the heavy traffic to the side streets.
“Just checking.” The guy chuckled for a moment. “Give me a few minutes and I’ll meet you outside.”
“Make it one. I’m almost there.” Zac ended the call and grabbed her hand. “You’ve got this.”
“What about your truck?” She winced looking at the mess she’d already made.
“I’ll get a new one if it doesn’t come out.” He winked. The hotel inched closer and she tore off her jeans and underwear. She couldn’t hold back the pushing anymore.
“What’s Mom doing?” Annmarie asked while Zac leaned the seat back toward their son.
“She’s pushing, sugar. You might hear her scream a few times like with Teo.”
“That was awful.” She covered her ears as a whimper left Rayne’s lips. The contraction slowly spread over her belly and she pushed with all her might.
“Fuck, this hurts!” Rayne screamed as the truck lurched to a stop. The door opened and a large male with the scent similar to Zac stood with towels and blankets in his grip.
“Holy shit, you’re not joking.” The guy chuckled and met Rayne’s gaze. “I’m Jaiden.”
“Rayne.” She gritted her teeth and closed her eyes as more agony gripped her body.
“Can we move you?” Zac asked next to Jaden. When the hell did he get out of the truck?
“No!” Rayne and Jaiden yelled at the same time.
“If you move her, you could hurt the pup,” Jaden spoke, and Rayne didn’t want to move even before he offered up a better reason. She didn’t want to push her baby out and he or she fell to the ground because Zac was carrying her to an open room.
“Fine. Turn this way, Rayne.” Zac kept on barking out orders to his brother, kids, and staff who filed out to see what was going on. The sensation of being stretched too far downstairs registered, and she gripped Zac’s hand as he spoke to Annmarie.
“Crowning.” She met his worried gaze and he nodded. A blanket lifted behind Zac as Annmarie held Teo in the back near Rayne’s head.
“You can do this, my beautiful mate. I know you can.” He adjusted his body and hands so he could catch their baby. She gritted her teeth and pushed harder than before. This time she knew her mate would be able to grab their little one.
She gripped the seat and it tore under her fingers. A small cry rang out and she looked down to find their son. Zac asked for a pair of scissors and cut the cord before placing him on Rayne’s chest.
“He’s beautiful.” Zac leaned forward and kissed her. He worked on cleaning her up as she rubbed her baby’s back. Tension flowed out of her muscles and she struggled to keep her legs up.
“I love you, Rudi.” Over the last two months, they had finally agreed on two guy names- Rudi and Jaggar. Staring at the pup he looked more like a Rudi. Her heart filled with love only a mother knew and she would protect each one of her babies with her last breath.
“I like it.” Zac grabbed a clean blanket and covered her up. Rayne whispered a thank you to her mate. She didn’t want to feel exposed any longer.
“Mommy.” Teo leaned in closer over the seat.
“Yes, my dear.” She met his curious gaze.
“Can I just call him brother?” He tipped his head as watched at the baby.
“Of course.” Love filled Rayne’s heart as she glanced around her family. She had everything she could ask for, a family and her perfect mate who would never leave her.
