“Given the way you describe her, then she has to be one of the top ten beauties of the Inner-sect and all of them are engaged,” Haden said with a grave expression.

“I will deal with the engagement when the time comes, but I will have to gain her heart first,” Ryan said with a cold smile. This smile could easily send shivers down anyone’s spine, and Haden and company were no different: they were certain that Ryan was thinking of killing the girl’s fiancé.

Ryan didn’t know that the happenings inside the Auditorium were being viewed by the Elders and Grand Elders of the Divine Martial Sect via a screen in another room. They had been paying special attention to Ryan.

“This boy from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan is not simple. By the way, did you send a message to the Heaven Sundering Family Clan to confirm his identity?” a Grand Elder of the Divine Martial Sect, named Cleo, asked a Law enforcement official. They had to be cautious about Ryan’s wellbeing, as the medallion Ryan showed at the Auction House was only issued to core members of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan.

“The Heaven Sundering Family Clan has confirmed that this boy is one of theirs. They didn’t give a lot of information about him, like the branch to which he belongs, or anything else about him. They requested us to take good care of him during his stay here,” another Law enforcement official said in a respectful manner. The Elders and other Grand Elders had changes in their expressions. It was difficult to guess what they were thinking.

“Since the Heaven Sundering Family Clan has already verified his identity then there is nothing to worry about. Make sure his life isn’t in any kind of mortal danger,” Cleo instructed everyone excepting fellow Grand Elders. The Law enforcement officials and Elders nodded their heads in agreement.

“How should we act when he tries to kill the fiancé of one of our Inner-sect disciples? That will cause a big ruckus at the time,” a Law enforcement official asked in a low voice.

“We will just ignore this matter. Those ten girls all belong to factions that are as powerful as our sect, and their fiancés have similar backgrounds. Those factions should be able to deal with their problem. The Heaven Sundering Family Clan will save him if they try to kill him. We will just inform the Heaven Sundering Family Clan in time,” Cleo said with a sigh. He didn’t want the Divine Martial Sect to get involved in such a matter, as it could cause a wide range of problems for them.

The happenings in the Auditorium were not only being viewed by the Elders and Grand Elders, but also by a few Ancestor Level Martial Artists in a different room. They were there to scout personal disciples. Their room had a big screen and rows of chairs in front of it. To be precise, it was like a movie theater. Raymond, one of the five Ancestor Level Poison Martial Artists of the Divine Martial Sect was also present in the room. He had been watching Ryan’s actions since he’d entered the Auditorium on the screen.

Raymond was the only one among the five Ancestor Level Poison Martial Artists that lacked a disciple, even though his medicinal skills were the highest amongst them. The other four agreed to let him have Ryan as his personal disciple, provided Ryan agreed to be his personal disciple. Raymond hadn’t yet had a single disciple in his life. It wasn’t that he didn’t want one, but no one had wanted to be his disciple, because of his fearsome reputation and enemies. The fact that he’d killed more people than the number he’d saved using his medicinal skills had created a situation, where people preferred to avoid him.

“Raymond, this boy might accept you as his Master. He is already thinking of killing the fiancé of the girl he likes, even though the girl has yet to agree to his marriage proposal. His actions are quite similar to yours,” an Ancestor Level Martial Artist sitting on Raymond’s left side said with a big smile. It was clear he was making fun of Raymond, who just frowned upon hearing the words, ignored him, and looked attentively at the screen in front of him.

That Ancestor Level Martial Artist was called Emerson. He was an alchemist by profession and was quite famous. Ancestor Level Martial Artists of many factions would throng on his door steps to buy pills made by him.

“I completely agree with Emerson. This time there is very good chance that you’ll get a personal disciple,” a middle-aged man called Arlo sitting on Raymond’s right side said with a laugh. He was an Ancestor Level Life Attribute Martial Artist, and the Master of the girl Ryan liked. He was also one of the few friends Raymond had.

Raymond ignored Arlo and Emerson and concentrated on the screen in front. Arlo and Emerson were two of the few people, who could talk to Raymond like this, as they were his closest friends.

“Don’t worry. I am sure that this boy will accept you as his Master, as he doesn’t look like the type that will care about your reputation and enemies,” Emerson said with sincerity this time, and Arlo also nodded his head in agreement.

“Let’s hope for the best,” Raymond said with a little sigh. The moment Raymond completed his sentence the situation inside the Auditorium changed significantly. All the Ancestor Level Martial Artists looked at the screen with unblinking eyes to see how Ryan would react in such a situation. Raymond, Emerson and Arlo were no different. Raymond decided to take this situation as Ryan’s test. If he fared well, then he would take Ryan as his personal disciple irrespective of the Marathon result.

Currently, Ryan along with Haden and company were surrounded by Mortal Lord Realm Martial Artists led by a young Master in pure white clothes.

“Hey boy! Quietly hand over the Dragon-serpent egg. I already know that you are the boy who was allocated Private Booth Number 5,” the young Master demanded.

“I might show you some leniency, if you don’t waste my time. And don’t think that being a part of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan will scare me in any way. The Divine Martial Sect won’t interfere, as both of us belong to factions other than Divine Martial Sect,” he continued with a cruel smile.

What the young Master had stated was true: the Divine Martial Sect wouldn’t be able to interfere in the fight, as it was a fight between two individuals of different factions. They could only inform the Heaven Sundering Family Clan to come and save Ryan.

The young Master had white hair and handsome looks, and was named Theon, but the cruel smile on his face made him look no different from a devil. He had a Cultivation Level of Early Mortal Lord Realm and belonged to the Red Sun Family Clan.

Ryan frowned upon hearing Theon. He could feel the hate Theon had for him even though it was their first meeting. Ryan guessed that Theon most likely belonged to a faction that didn’t have a good relationship with his mother’s Family Clan.

The other disciples inside the Auditorium were astounded on finding out that Ryan belonged to the Heaven Sundering Family Clan, and that he was the one who’d acquired the Dragon-serpent egg as well as the Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit.

They quietly sent this information onto their respective factions, even though they knew that their factions might not make a move against Ryan, seeing as he was from the Heaven Sundering Family Clan. That Family Clan was a major faction on Grandura, and many times stronger than the Divine Martial Sect.

The newly recruited disciples looked at Ryan with a different gaze now. Haden and company were no different. They were happy that they’d refused to abandon Ryan, when he’d been surrounded on all sides.

“I lost it,” Ryan said with a mocking smile on his face.

“I will ask you one last time. Hand over the egg and keep your life,” Theon said as his Soul weapon, a saber, appeared in his hand. It was clear that he was not joking and had the full intention of harming Ryan.

“I will also give you one last chance to get lost from my sight,” Ryan said, still with a mocking smile on his face. Ryan’s statement infuriated Theon, and he signaled to his henchmen to attack Ryan.

All the Martial Artists that surrounded Ryan and company attacked them at the same time upon Theon’s single signal. The facial expressions of Haden and the rest changed as they drew their Soul wea
pons from their Soul Worlds. Their eyes burned with fighting spirit as they got ready to confront Theon’s henchmen. Ryan sneered at the actions of Theon and his henchmen as Baleful aura erupted out of his body in large quantities, and enveloped everyone within ten meters on all sides, except that Ryan made sure that it didn’t invade the bodies of Haden and company.

Theon and his henchmen had changes in their facial expressions after getting enveloped in Ryan’s Baleful aura though. They could feel something was trying to invade their minds and the sensation was quite creepy. They immediately put up resistance against it, and the only reason Theon and his henchmen were OK was because they were in Mortal Lord Realm, a sub-realm higher than Ryan’s.

“Quickly escape this vicious red aura,” Theon bellowed as he tried to escape the range of the Baleful aura. His henchmen also followed his lead, but Ryan had no intention of letting them do so. His right hand’s forefinger started to shine with black light as he started shooting Soul Devouring Finger Beams at Theon and his henchmen. Ryan’s soul was many times stronger than a Normal Late Mortal Elite Martial Artist, which made his Soul attacks equally powerful. Since the power of Soul attacks depends on the strength of the soul of the Martial Artist, how could Theon and his henchmen survive after getting hit by Ryan’s Soul Devouring Finger Beams?

Theon had a murderous look on his face as he ran at full speed to escape the Baleful aura, but his eyes soon turned lifeless as he fell on the ground. He had died instantly upon getting hit by a single Soul Devouring Finger Beam. His henchmen didn’t have different endings: all of them were killed without exception by Ryan. Everyone in the Auditorium was covered in cold sweats upon seeing Ryan’s ruthlessness and brutality. Haden and company were no different. All of them knew that it was in their best interest not to get on Ryan’s wrong side.

Ryan stopped releasing his Baleful aura soon afterwards, and the previously released Baleful aura soon dissipated into thin air. The Auditorium had pin-drop silence. Many were alarmed on seeing the prowess Ryan displayed. He had single handedly killed more than ten Mortal Lord Realm Martial Artists with a Cultivation Level of the Early Mortal Elite Realm and all of them were killed by a single attack. This was something totally unheard of.

On seeing the stunned expressions of everyone, Ryan understood the reason for the pin-drop silence in the Auditorium. A smile appeared on his face.

“I am not an Early Mortal Elite Martial Artist. I have unsealed an Innate Ability of my Martial Spirit that allows me to hide my real Cultivation Level. This way I can take care of retards like him, who wish to die,” Ryan said with a sneer, as he pointed at the dead body of Theon.

“That is too despicable. How can someone like him appear in the Heaven Sundering Family Clan that places honour above anything else?” everyone in the Auditorium thought. The Elders, Grand Elders and Ancestor Level figures had similar thoughts, except for Raymond. He had a big smile on his face. He was so happy for two reasons: one was Ryan’s ruthless nature, and the other was his possession of Death Attribute.

Raymond knew that Ryan had an additional Martial Spirit from Aaric given the fact that he was a Stable Taboo Martial Artist and Emerald Viper not being a Taboo Martial Spirit. The fact that Aaric was previously unable to detect Yama had made Ryan’s second Martial Spirit a mystery for Raymond and others. A Taboo Martial Spirit could of any Attribute except for Light attribute and Life attribute.

Raymond himself was a Dual Martial Spirits holder. One of his Martial Spirits had Poison Attribute, and the other had Death Attribute. He’d always wanted a disciple that had a Martial Spirit or Spirits with these two attributes but finding such a disciple was awfully difficult. The combination of Death Attribute and Poison Attribute is one of the best combinations a Dual Martial Spirits holder or a Martial Artist with Dual Attribute Martial Spirit can have.

Death Attribute has a support ability which allows a Death Martial Artist to increase the deadliness of an attack. Death aura merges with an attack that is capable of causing death and increases its lethality. Most Poison Attribute attacks are capable of causing death, so Death aura can easily merge with them. Raymond had created many powerful Martial Skills that could only be used by a Poison Death Dual Attribute Martial Artist. If he was to take a disciple that lacked Death Attribute, then that disciple would be unable to inherit all the powerful Martial Skills he’d created.

Arlo and Emerson knew why Raymond was happy, and they didn’t disturb his happy moment.

Unlike Raymond, the rest of the Divine Martial Sect was noticeably anxious because of the situation created by Ryan. They hadn’t expected anyone to die as Ryan’s and Theon’s factions had an agreement between them. According to the agreement, members of both factions were forbidden from killing each other. This agreement was signed after the last small scale war that had happened between the Red Sun Family Clan and the Heaven Sundering Family Clan. The members of the Divine Martial Sect had only been expecting that one of the sides would only get beaten up badly. If the matter had worsened, then they would have stepped in, but Ryan hadn’t given them a chance to do so, as he’d finished them off within a few seconds.

The members of the Divine Martial Sect hadn’t expected that Ryan would not uphold the agreement that had been signed by the ancestors of his Family Clan. They were certain that this matter wouldn’t settle down easily, as Ryan belonged to the Heaven Sundering Family Clan.

Since Theon had died inside the Divine Martial City, the Red Sun Family Clan would also blame them for it. They were certain that their relationship with the Red Sun Family Clan would be severely strained because of this incident.

Just as the members of the Upper echelons of the Divine Martial Sect were thinking of ways to salvage the situation, another incident took place inside the Auditorium. The members of the Divine Martial Sect knew if they didn’t interfere this time, then things would undeniably become problematic for them, so a few of their Grand Elders immediately left for Divine Martial City.

A Martial Artist had entered the Auditorium by breaking one of its walls. The aura he emitted made it clear to everyone that he was an Immortal Realm Martial Artist. He was Theon’s caretaker, and he went quickly to Theon’s side to check his condition, but it was already too late. Theon was long dead before his arrival.

“Who did this?” the Immortal of the Red Sun Family Clan roared in anger after confirming that Theon was dead. The new recruited disciples, including Ryan, were shaken up by his roar.

“The person who did this has already escaped,” Ryan quickly said in a scared manner and everyone in the Auditorium almost choked to death on hearing his words.

“Boy, quickly tell me what happened over here?” the Immortal asked Ryan, still with an angry expression.

“The person who killed the young Master was wearing a mask, so no one in the Auditorium was able to see his face. He came in like a gust of wind and quickly left after killing the young Master and his followers. You can confirm it with others,” Ryan lied shamelessly.

Everyone was stunned for a second, but quickly nodded their heads in agreement. They understood the hidden meaning in Ryan’s words. They were supposed to follow the script prepared by him, and if they failed to do so then the consequences might not be good for them. The Elders, Grand Elders, and Ancestor Level Martial Artist had their mouths hanging wide open.

“This boy’s shamelessness and brutality have no bounds. He does both killing and lying with a straight face,” Arlo said as he looked at the screen. Emerson nodded his head in agreement. Raymond, on the other hand, was no longer at their sides.

Raymond had immediately left to save Ryan, when he saw the Red Sun Family Clan’s Immortal Realm Martial Artist entering the Auditorium, so he didn’t know that Ryan already had the situation in hand.

The face of the Immortal from the Red Sun Family turned livid upon seeing all the newly recruited disciples nodding their heads in agreement. He now believed Ryan’s fake story without question. He placed the bodies of Theon and
his henchmen in his Spatial pouch and left to find the members of the Divine Martial Sect. Since Theon had died in their territory that meant they were partly responsible for it.

The Immortal flew out of the hole he’d made in the wall of the Auditorium just before. A smile appeared on Ryan’s face as he watched the departing figure of the Red Sun Family Clan’s Immortal Realm Martial Artist.

The others newly recruited Martial Artists were also happy to see him leave, but they all looked at Ryan with odd gazes. All of them had already decided in their hearts to never get on Ryan’s wrong side.

The members of the Upper echelon of the Divine Martial Sect had also decided to go along with Ryan’s script, as the enmity between the Red Sun Family Clan and the Heaven Sundering Family Clan was too deep. The relationship between the Divine Martial Sect and the Red Sun Family Clan might not get affected by much if the killer was someone unknown, rather than a member of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan. If they followed Ryan’s script, then they would have a higher chance of salvaging the situation. Ryan was able to guess these facts to some extent and had devised his script accordingly. He knew how big organizations had worked in his previous life and he knew that Grandura’s different factions also followed similar principles.

Raymond had used the Teleportation circle to teleport to Divine Martial City, so he was already in Divine Martial City by the time Emerson contacted him to inform him about the subsequent happenings in the Auditorium. A smile appeared on Raymond’s face. He liked Ryan’s shameless attitude, as he had seen many upright people dying too early, while the shameless survived all odds. He decided to meet up with Ryan as he was already in Divine Martial City.

  Ch.14

The Auditorium was utterly silent, and everyone had gloomy expressions on their faces, as if their parents had just died. No one felt like talking.

The reason for their gloominess and silence was Ryan. He had forced them to lie to an Immortal Realm Martial Artist of a powerful faction about the death of one of its members. If by chance the Red Sun Family Clan were to know of this, then they were all as good as dead as they would be seen as Ryan’s accomplices in the crime. Their families might even be killed.
