He possesses me, owns me, if I ever had any doubt of him walking away again, he’s diminished those fears. There is a fire burning in his eyes that sends heated tingles down my spine and goose bumps rise on my skin.
He leans in and his warm breath on my neck has my core pulsing. An ache that only he can satisfy. “Do you want me to ruin your pretty dress? To wreck that beautiful body?”
I snap my gaze to his. “You’ve ruined me for any other man a long time ago, Flash.” My honesty earns me a sexy, wicked smirk.
“Good. Because you’re mine.” His hands come down and grasp the cheeks of my ass, squeezing hard and I push back into his firm grip. I want him. Need him.
“Forever.” I mean it. I have been and will always be his.
“Then prove it.”
Narrowing my eyes at him, I question. “How?”
“I want you and Ben. Let’s make this work, Firefly?” His tone is earnest and I grin. That’s what I wanted to ask him. For a chance, for forgiveness, and for love.
“I love you, Jayce Alexander. My life will never be complete without you. I realize there is a lot we have to figure out, but I can’t promise you anything if you walk away again. Our son needs a constant in his life.”
“Ivy, I am not my father, you have my word.”
“You promise me you won’t leave me? Or Ben?” My words cut us both, I see the pain in his eyes. We’re so fucking broken because of lies and deceit. He nods.
“I do. I long for a family, Ivy, to have you both with me forever, till I breathe my last breath.” He tugs me against him, our bodies molding together like one person, so close, I don’t know where I begin or he ends. “I’m dying to bend you over right now.” He growls. It’s a low animalistic sound.
“Well then you better do what you want, Flash. We have time before dinner.” The challenge in my stare has him smirking.
“Naughty, little Firefly. Do you need a spanking too?” I nod without hesitation.
“Bend over the bed, hold onto the sheet and do not let go.” I slip off my shoes and pad over to the large king size bed, and without removing any clothes, I obey his command. My nerves still alive from Jayce’s fingers earlier. “Spread your legs.”
I shift my feet apart. Waiting. It’s quiet for a few moments, and I tremble, the anticipation is unbearable. The heat of him warms me and I push my ass back. “Is someone aching?” Scorching breath fans on my overheated skin which has me quivering.
“Please, Flash, I need you. I always do.” His fingertips trail down my legs with slow strokes from the back of my knees up to my inner thighs and leave a trail of fire in their wake.
Suddenly his tongue licks a hot, wet path up my left inner thigh, stopping just short of my soaked panties. He repeats the action on the right, every time halting before he reaches the spot where I ache for him. The sensitive flesh that needs to be tasted, fingered, and fucked.
“I can smell that sweet honey, is it all for me, little Firefly?” The rasp in his voice has my knees trembling. His thumbs hook in the waistband of my panties and they disappear instantly.
“Jayce, fuck me now, please?” My hoarse whisper is filled with desire and he growls in response. A harsh swat has me yelping. Then a second, and third. My skin tingles where he spanked me yet it doesn’t lessen the hunger.
“As you wish darling.” With a sudden brutal thrust, he is inside me, so deep I feel him nudge my womb. “You’re never.” He slips out, slamming into me again. “Ever.” Another breath stealing drive. “Leaving me.” A third painful pleasurable thrust into me and I am flying over the edge. “Again.” My orgasm shatters through me as my walls pulse and squeeze his steel shaft. He pulls out, then ploughs deep into me, growling as his cum coats me.
Marking me. Claiming me. Owning me.
Like he did so many years ago. The pleasure that wracks my body and mind is insurmountable.
My body comes down from the high and I am too aware of my rumpled dress and wobbly knees as he slips out of me. A whimper escapes my lips, and he encircles me in his arms. “Are you okay?” I straighten and my dress falls to my thighs. Our bodies are flush and the heat from him calms me.
“I am now.” I turn in his hold and lock my hands around his neck. Our eyes meet and I find the emotion I was looking for since we laid eyes on each other this morning. The one thing that I needed to confirm that we can make it through. Love. He was my forever, and there is nothing that will change that.
With a soft kiss, he steps back, pulling out a pair of briefs from his suitcase. His body is incredible, the muscles, that tight ass, and his beautiful cock still have my body reacting in a deliciously naughty way.
“Are you enjoying the view?” I lift my gaze and find him smirking. A blush heats my cheeks at being caught ogling him.
“Yes, it’s the best fucking view I ever had.” He turns to me, gripping my hips and his lips crash down on mine hungrily. My tongue darts out and slides over his, eliciting a rumble in his throat. When I finally pull away, I can’t stop smiling. “Time for dinner?” I whisper, and he nods and goes to get dressed while I lounge on his bed.
“I told Luke.” I glance up to see the happiness on his face. Pride for his son, which fills my heart with love.
“What did he say?” I stare at him, knowing that Lucien’s opinion is important.
“He’s happy for me, advised me to decide if I we can work things out.” He turns and pulls on his black button up shirt and I watch him in the mirror.
His fingers move deftly over the buttons and I picture ripping his shirt open and slowly licking my way up his chiseled torso. He leaves me insatiable. Even when I was younger, it was a constant ache to be with him, to feel him kiss and touch me.
“And…?” His silence unnerves me. Our gazes lock in the reflection and he gives me a cheeky wink.
“And?” That mouth quirks into a grin and a small dimple appears in his cheek.
“Have you decided? You said we have to try, but we live in different cities, Jayce. One of us would have to pick up our lives. I mean,” he stalks over to me, pulling me to my feet, “you have your job, and I—”
His mouth crashes down on mine, silencing my fears, worries, and words. Big strong hands cup my face and hold me still. His tongue snakes along the seam of my lips and I grant him access. As it dances with mine, I moan into the kiss.
Just one taste, a tease, and he pulls away, leaving me breathless and reeling. “I want you. Whatever I have to do, I will do. Now let’s go see your folks.” I can’t stop the wince and the way my body tenses at the thought of seeing them.
As we step out of the room, we find Bryce and Ben on the balcony. “Mom, Uncle Bryce said that we’re going to have food, I am hungry.” I nod and Jayce’s chuckle behind me calms me somewhat. “Dad, I have to show you my cape, it’s so cool. I will be just like Batman.”
“That sounds exciting, we can fight crime together, I may have to talk your mom into letting me get one too. Come here, squirt.” Our son runs into his father’s arms and my heart soars. I feel as if life is finally falling into place. Jayce looks at Bryce. “Thank you for looking out for them.”
The men shake hands and the tension that was radiating from Jay dissipates. We head downstairs to the restaurant, its quiet with only a few tables occupied.
“Table for four?” I nod at the hostess as she leads us to a booth in the corner. Once we are seated, Jayce orders a beer, a wine for me, and Ben gets his usual orange soda. I swear the boy drinks liters of the stuff.
“Bryce, I wanted to thank you.” I frown at him. What is he doing? “For being there for them, when I wasn’t.” There’s a nod of understanding that passes between them as I glance back and forth between the two. I love them both in very different ways.
“I will always be there for her, she’s like my sister.”
“That’s all I needed to hear.” I roll my eyes at the caveman display of claiming ownership as if I am livestock to be bought and sold.
“You do
realize I am right here.” I mumble and they both chuckle as my man leans in for a kiss.
“Gross!” We all laugh as Ben scrunches his nose at us kissing.
“Nice to see the scum still trying to take my families money.” The familiar seething voice rattles me and my body tenses painfully. We turn to find my father standing at our table with his dark eyes landing on me and Jayce, and our entwined hands. But it’s only when he takes in the little version of me and the man I love that the air around us chills and it feels as if we’re naked in the Arctic.
“Ivy Devereaux, care to explain?” He pins me with a fierce stare.
“She has nothing to explain. We were enjoying dinner, so if you don’t mind, we wouldn’t like to cause a scene.” Jayce’s tone is a cold as my father’s eyes. He holds me against him, even tighter and instinctively, I reach for Ben.
My family. My life. My heart.
“I suggest you come with me and explain what is going on here.” Anger drips from his voice and I’m about to push out of my seat when Jayce’s hand holds me back. He rises and comes face to face with Richard Devereaux. He is a formidable man, but when Jay towers over him I see my Dad shrink, and for the first time in my life I feel as if I have finally won.
“Like I said, my family and I are having dinner, so if you would be so kind as to move along. You can try to throw your weight around another time, but I am done with you and your demands. I am not the boy you tried to bully all those years ago.” The tension in the room is thick as if it’s an entity joining us for dinner. It probably has its own fucking zip code.
My body is alert and I can’t imagine what’s going through my father’s mind right now. He’s turning beet red, and I know he will explode in the worst way. His angry stare lands on me, but when he looks at Ben I swear he softens, but not for long.
“This is far from over. Scum should stay where they belong, in the filthy fucking gutters.” He murmurs under his breath and turns to walk away. A shiver of dread runs down my spine. My father is well versed in threats, but it’s when he actions them, that’s when he’s most feared.
Question is… would he ever try to hurt me?
“That went well.” Picking up my beer, I take a swig. My worry about seeing her father isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The fear I had when I was younger is gone. He’s aged and I look at him with pity. The fact that his daughter could walk out and not look back says a lot about him.
“Thank you.” Ivy’s voice is so low, but the quiver of fear in her tone is clear. Settling my eyes on her, I see the stress she’s experienced during that encounter.
“I was expecting more of a fight.” I turn my attention to Bryce and nod. So did I. Although, I have a feeling we’ve only stoked the fire. He will not give up that easily. Since he now knows he has a grandson, it will make him more adamant to break us up.
“So did I, but I know that wasn’t the end. I do not trust him at all.” As my gaze falls on the man opposite me, I can tell that he knows what I am talking about. Something tells me he’s had the Devereaux experience too. Ivy’s father is evil. I haven’t ever hated anyone, but after what he did to me and I lost everything, that emotion comes easily. The most important thing I lost was Ivy, because I believed him then.
He influenced my thoughts, and I figured he would know best since he’s her father, but now, seeing her after she walked out, I realize I fucked up. I should have fought for her. Now though, I will go to war for her and my son.
“I need another drink.” I glance at her. Sky-blue eyes peer up at me and she looks as if she’s about to pass out. Her body is tense and I wonder how I could relax her.
“Dad,” I turn to Ben and smile.
“What’s up, monster?”
“Can I have the nuggets?” I chuckle at the innocence in his eyes. He’s oblivious to the scene that just played out, that his granddad was here moments ago.
“Sure, squirt. Did you want fries?” His head bobbles as he nods enthusiastically. Our waiter appears at that moment, and we order our dinner and more drinks.
“I can’t believe my sister is getting married.”
“Me too. She was always such a cold-hearted… uhm…” Clearing my throat, I grin. Having a kid around will be interesting for my foul mouth. “Woman.”
“I am with you on that man, definitely not the friendliest.” I decide I like Bryce and since he considers my girl a sister, I can trust him.
“You’re both terrible you know that? Lacey is not that bad.” I turn and notice Kenna walking into the restaurant. I wave her over and by her expression, I realize she would rather not join us, but she doesn’t have a choice.
“Ken, I would like you to meet Ivy, and that is Bryce.” My girl offers a warm smile which momentarily shocks me. I remember her jealousy about my friendship with Ken, but it seems to have mellowed. When Bryce’s gaze lands on Kenna, it looks like a spark is lit behind his brown eyes.
“It’s a pleasure, sit next to me.” His charm is in full force and I hide my chuckle behind a cough.
“And this over here is Ben. Say hi to my friend Kenna.” He waves at her with a big grin on his face.
“Thank you for inviting me over.”
“I’m glad you joined us, Jayce never was one for friends. Besides Luke of course.” Ivy casts a quick glance at me and when she settles her gaze back on the brown-eyed woman, she smiles. “So we’re doing my dress in the morning?”
“Yes, I finished Lacey’s today, all I need is to make sure there aren’t any alterations needed for yours. I have your measurements, but sometimes they can change.”
They nod and smile. The girls seem at ease with each other and after confronting Ivy’s dad, I find I am relaxing as I swig my second beer.
The rest of dinner is relaxed, and Bryce appears quite taken with Kenna, but deep down I know that she’s still in love with Cole. Her eyes don’t light up when she smiles. I can’t imagine what it feels like being at the wedding of your soul mate and you’re not the one walking down the aisle.
As we head upstairs after dinner, I walk my girl and son to their room. When he gives me a goodnight hug, I feel my heart ache to be with them. While I wait outside for Ivy to put him to bed, thoughts are running rampant in my mind. I have to be with them permanently, and there is no way I am waiting for her to decide. She’s mine, and I am hers.
“It seems I can’t get rid of the trash can I?” I spin around to face the man who fucked my life up once before. He’s still a big man, but he does not scare me anymore. There was a time I would have been quaking in my boots, but this time as I glare at him, I realize that I will never fear him again. I will never walk away from the woman I love because of this asshole.
“Trash?” I laugh, it’s a dark chuckle. When my eyes land on him again, I don’t hide the sneer that contorts my face. He disgusts me, forcing his daughter to marry someone she doesn’t love. Making me break his daughter’s heart by threatening me and my mother’s life. He’s pure evil. “Seems you’re the one who lost. Your daughter couldn’t even tell you about your grandson. Now you’re here threatening me again?” I step up to him, I am bigger than him, my shoulders broader. “Let me tell you something, you will never, ever again take me away from her or my son. If you thought that your threats will work, then you’ve got another thing coming.”
“Listen here you piece of shit; my daughter doesn’t need you fucking up her life. She’s already lumped with a kid that should never have been born, once she realizes the mistake she has made, you will be history.” I am about to throw a punch when I feel her.
“Father.” Ivy’s voice is like ice between our heated exchange. We both turn to her and my breath hitches. I am unsure of what she will do because I have only seen that look on her face once before. When I told her to leave.
She steps up to him, with a dark glare pinned on her father, and continues her onslaught. “How dare you? Ben is my son, he is flesh and blood and even if you don’t accept him, he is the best thing that ha
ppened to me after you fucked up my life. I will never regret having him. I don’t care what you think anymore, because I am living my life, for me and for my son. Do not, ever, come between me and Jayce again. You will never have that power over me, or him again and you know why?” She doesn’t wait for him to carry on. “We have a son and if you come near him, I will make sure you regret it. You taught me one thing I appreciate, and that’s how to be a ruthless bitch so don’t be mistaken, I do not care if you’re my father or not, I will take you down.”
“Ivy, you can’t be serious? This…” He glances at me, then back at her. “… boy is not good for you. I miss my baby girl. You should never have left, especially since you were pregnant.”
“Why? So you could have controlled what I did? Or did you not want me to have the baby? If you found out it was Jayce’s you would have pushed and pushed for me to get rid of it, and there would be no way in hell I would have done that. I don’t want you in my life. You forced the only man I ever loved to walk away. Never again will you control me like a puppet.”
“I was looking out for you. You were young, you didn’t know what love was.”
“I think it’s time for you to leave.” Her tone is hard, without another word, she walks toward me, lacing her fingers in mine and pulls me into the room. As soon as the door shuts, I slam my mouth down on hers. Her body soft and pliable under my touch. With small moans, she presses her chest against mine. My hands move down her arms, and find her pert ass, squeezing it, I lift her against me and walk into the bathroom.
She’s got me rock fucking solid after that display and I need to be inside her. Placing her on the counter, I move to shut the door with a soft click. We have to be quiet, Ben is asleep, but I can’t not show her how much I love her. All I can think about is feeling her body wrapped around mine.
“Can you be quiet?” She nods, chewing on her swollen bottom lip. She’s so fucking sexy. My body is aching and my cock is throbbing behind the zipper of my pants.
“Just fuck me, Flash, please?” I tug on her sweats, pulling them down along with her panties. Her standing up to her father for me, for Ben, has my body humming with need to fill her deep and hard. My pants find the floor in no time and I fist my dick. It could give a steel rod a run for its money.
