“Holy shit, did her water just break?” Renz yelled in the back of the limo.
“Calm down…it’s completely natural. Fucking men,” Violet growled as she placed her hands on the contracted curve of Lauren’s stomach. “How long?”
“I thought I could make it.”
Her best friend sounded miserable, and she wasn’t having the easiest time moving around in the cramped space of the limo with her own swollen stomach. The twins were being assholes today.
“We’re going to the hospital,” she heard Gio telling the driver.
She noticed her husband-to-be on the phone and rearranging everything. He knew she wasn’t going to do anything but be by Lauren’s side. They’d gone to every birthing class with Lauren. Memorized every detail of Lauren’s birthing plan.
“Lauren, why didn’t you tell us?” Gio asked as he moved behind her friend and rubbed her belly in slow circles.
She smiled at them, Gio knew every one of Lauren’s cravings. The man might as well have two pregnant girlfriends. He just didn’t fuck one of them.
“You’re going to miss your wedding because of me.”
“Shut up, Lauren.”
“Listen to Violet. I called the preacher, and he’s coming to the hospital. We’re still getting married, and Violet is going to have her best friend at her side. It’s going to be perfect.”
She loved the man more than she could ever say and he felt the same, embraced her endless irritation and moods. Didn’t even mind when she woke up horny in the middle of the night and hopped on his thick cock before the man’s eyes even opened. A woman had needs, and apparently, a pregnant one had a lot.
It was chaos once they arrived at the emergency room. Gio’s parents descended along with Maximo, Tony, and Sal. Sal had attended classes when Gio couldn’t. He was the backup birthing coach. Niccolo, Gibson and Montes stayed behind to take everyone over to the reception and was working crowd control. She felt bad they’d miss the ceremony.
Lauren was complaining and worried about ruining the wedding. Her best friend had been there. Never left her side even when Violet had worked her ass off to push the other woman away. No way would she miss out on her niece being born. Lauren was admitted and moved to a room.
“Who’s getting married, we might be in a bit of a hurry here?”
The preacher’s face brightened with a huge smile as he breezed into the room.
“Me and Violet, our niece couldn’t wait to be born.”
“I see that. So, do we have everything, rings and all?”
Everyone nodded.
“Then let’s get the show on the road. It doesn’t look like we have much time.”
Violet looked up at Gio, and he smiled down at her as they listened to the preacher begin. There was a lot she’d never expected from life, and this big, loving man was one of them. Her face heated as he mouthed I love you and they said their I dos just as a scream made her cringe. They shared a quick kiss before they turned in time to catch Sal keeping eye contact with Lauren.
This wasn’t the life she’d planned, but no way in fuck would she regret a second, especially not taking out the sexy firefighter next door.
