Hunger: the V'KAR series Page 23

by Stone, Ciana

“Slow down,” he whispered against her lips before invading her mouth with his tongue.

She wound her free arm behind him, bunching the back of his shirt in her fist and holding on like the last person to grab a parachute on a plane going down.

Leonidias robbed her of at least a few breaths and several heartbeats when he started thrusting in and out, fast and precise. Oh god, talk about hitting the target. The guy had serious aim.

She met the thrusts and the speed intensified. A long groan preceded a couple of strokes that made her want to scream like a banshee, beat her head back against the metal and rake his back like there was no tomorrow.

“Yes, yes.” She panted his name, which seemed to fuel him more.

“That’s it. Let me hear it,” Leonidias growled then crushed her mouth under his.

“Ahh, Leo…that’s it. Ahhh…” She moaned into his mouth.

Then gasped when he abruptly abandoned her pussy “What—”

What was the rest of what she going to say? She couldn’t remember. Maybe it was because Leonidias had looped one arm behind her bent knee and hoisted her up against him, pinning her to the window. Hard.

Lust lanced through her hot and primal.

She had just enough time to get a grip on his neck when he curled his pelvis and took her. “Ohhh…fuck. You’re hot.”

Shilah couldn’t manage anything beyond a one syllable groan.

Once, twice and the third time he rammed himself in to the hilt. With his chest crushed against hers, she wasn’t going anywhere. Not that she wanted to. She wrapped her legs around his strong waist and gave herself to the ride.

Her breath came quick and shallow, pushed out of her by his muscular torso and aggressive hip-work. Thighs pumping like pistons, he took her hard and fast. She held on, keeping her thighs like octapus around his middle, one hand fisted on the back of his collar, the other curled into his hair.

It was her favorite position. How did he know that? No time to ponder the question. Every nerve ending in her pussy was being set on fire. With his thick dick and the angle of entry, she was stretched to the limit. Still he pounded away, encouraged by her groans and tightening clutch on his head.

Fuck me blind. Oh god, oh god…

“Don’t…you…stop.” Her growled demand seemed to have the same effect a red cape does on a bull.

He pounded so hard the window behind her back shoot. She screamed his name when he widened his stance, grabbing her ass in two callused hands.

  “Shilah,” he snarled. “Shilah.”

Each expulsion of breath, each repetition of her became a cadence to his thrusts. He pushed. Deep. Deeper. She took. God she took and reveled in it.

And then there it was. The chasm. The place where nothing mattered, where everything and everyone could go screw themselves and it didn’t matter what happened beyond this moment because there wasn’t anything she wanted more than this moment.

Oh fuck me. Take me there, Leonidias.

  He did.

His muscled shoulders twitched and tightened and she felt the grip on her ass dig in painfully. Did she care? Not one damn bit She welcomed it.

His groan was that that of a great beast. Juices and sweat united them. Passion linked them. With a pound that should must have caused the pilots to check for sudden wind shear, he grunted his climax and she took the plunge with him.

As soon as the storm passed, he slowed his tempo, lengthening the stroke to take her nice and slow while she squeezed her vaginal muscles around him, milking that smooth burning rod that held her prisoner. The second orgasm hit suddenly, surprising her. She thought she had a few seconds left.

  “Ohhh…”

Leonidias drowned out the rest of her moan, plastering his mouth against hers, his tongue performing wonders and his teeth some definite damage. Her lips throbbed and burned. Both sets.

Ever so slowly, by one small increment at a time so that she could unlink her feet and put one down. He kept one of her legs tucked under an elbow.

After several slow wet kisses, he bit her bottom lip, sucked at it then released both her mouth and her leg. Cum dribbled down her thighs when he pulled out. He slid out of his shirt and knelt down so he could wipe her. What? Was there a sensitive side to Big Leonidias? She was stunned.

He planted a wet sloppy kiss on her belly and rose. “I’m thirsty. Want some champagne, sugar?”

“Mmm.” It was all she could manage. Her verbal abilities seemed to be impaired.

Leonidias used his shirt and wiped off then slid his pants back up. As he made his way to the bar Shilah forced her body into motion to gather up her clothes. She went into the lavatory and closed the door.

She looked at herself in the mirror. Her lips were swollen from his kisses, nipples red and body covered in a sheen of sweat from a world-class sex bout.

Shilah grabbed a hand towel and wet it to clean up. Shame she didn’t have some way of cleaning up what was still coming from inside her. She smelled like him.

That was a first. She’d never had unprotected sex in her life. Not that she feared contracting something from him. V’Kar were not succeptible to sexually transmitted diseases, so it wasn’t disease she feared.

It was the way Leonidias made her feel. She wasn’t a novice to sex and had enjoyed her fair share of men, but never had she experienced the kind of feelings she had with Leonidias.

  Oh, fuck me. Damn!

She could not be stupid enough to let herself fall for him. No matter how good the sex, it would never work. They were too much alike, both had too strong a need for control. No, she could not allow herself to even think that way.

  So why was she?

Disgusted with herself, she finished cleaning up, dressed and returned to the cabin. Leonidias was kicked back in a chair with a glass of water. An opened bottle of champagne and two filled glasses sat on the table before him.

Shilah was almost flush with where he sat when she noticed that the galley door was ajar. Looks like someone got a show. What puzzled her was why? Was the flight attendant simply indulging in a bit of voyeuristic pleasure, or was it possible they were being surveilled?

Not willing to take a chance, she reminded herself to stay in character. She stopped beside Leonidias’s seat and leaned down to kiss him. “We’re being watched,” she whispered before brushing her lips against his.

He nodded and reached up to cup her face, to all appearances the loving husband. “That bother you?”

  “Well considering we just-“

“Did our job.” His eyes turned hard.

Shilah felt the sharp bite of his words. So that’s how he wanted to play it? It was just part of the job?

“Yep.” She straightened and move to take a seat across from him. It was just a job.

  Chapter Six

Shilah was relieved when they landed in Miami. Funny how a few hours could seem so long. The “incident” as she’d decided to call it, with Leonidas in the plane had roused needs that were hammering at her with relentless force.

She didn’t quite understand it. She’d had her share of sexual encounters and none had prompted such feelings. Maybe this was the danger her mother had warned her about. Sex with a V’Kar male made sex with a human seem like Puritan foreplay.

Shilah now understood the appeal of the V’Kar male and the danger they posed. Anything that incited that level of hunger lowered a woman’s guard. And lowering mental defenses left one vulnerable to bonding.

Thoughts of bonding had her studying Leonidas. He was seemingly calm as a cucumber, gazing out of the window as they taxied to the terminal. She wondered what it would be like to truly connect with him. She knew he was once mated and that his mate had stepped forward, volunteering to be executed in his stead before he was exiled to earth with her father and Octavian.

Her mother had once told her that she didn’t think Leonidas would ever recover from that loss and after having bonded with Constantine she understood. It had taken the destru
ction of the V’Kar star system to bring Leonidas to the table to talk peace between the three races of V’Kar on Earth and for years it was a tenuous truth.

Shilah’s mother had been the first to trust Leonidas. She’d fought with him years ago, when Resa first bonded with Constantine, and many times after that. She’d once told Shilah that aside from Constantine, there was no one she’d rather have at her back in a fight than Leonidas. He was like one of the warrior gods of old that had probably been modeled after him all those centuries ago. Unrelenting and unstoppable.

Shilah believed that. She’d seen him in action. He was lethal.

The flight attendant stepped into the cabin to let them know they could disembark. Shilah gather up her shoulder bag and looked to Leonidas. Time for the role playing to begin again. “I’m so excited to finally see your yacht, sweetie.”

“Hmmm, yes,” his less than enthusiastic rumble had her sending him a glare.

He smiled as he rose from his seat, walked to her and scooped her to him with one arm. Shilah fought the surge of excitement the act provoked. Fortunately, she could claim she was merely staying in character as she wound her arms around his neck and offered her lips.

His kiss was neither gentle nor loving. It was mouth rape, fierce and hungry. She could feel his mind questing and fortified her mental barriers. No way in hell she was going to let him know that he’d given it just the way she liked it.

“Sir?” The flight attendant had him ending the kiss. “Your car is waiting.”

“Shall we, darling?” He asked Shilah.

  “Oh yes, we shall.”

He chuckled and released her. Minutes later they were ensconced in the back of a long limo, on their way to the port.

Constantine pushed his chair back from the desk and rose to pace to the window. He stared out, his mind sifting through the latest intelligence. He’d not voiced his suspicions to anyone as yet and debated whether to do so, or to wait until there was more to go on.

“I think you’re right,” Resa’s voice came from the doorway.

Constantine turned to face her and she walked to him. “I don’t think the Alliance is responsible. I think they’re paying for the information.”

  “And you base this on?”

“Intelligence and my own experience with them.”

“Might I point out that it has been a number of years since you’ve ranked in their numbers?”

“True, so let’s discount that and go with what we know. They don’t have anyone with the skill to break our encryption. Nor do they have the technology. Our network is unlike any on Earth, based upon V’Kar technology.”

He thought about it for a moment. “Let’s suppose that holds true. If the Alliance is not responsible for the breach into our system, then where does that leave us?”

“You already know that answer. Either we have a traitor in our midst, or the Nyx are much closer than we know.”

“We would have detected their presence.” Constantine argued.

“Not if they sent a small advance party.”

“Our satellite surveillance would have detected a ship.”

“Maybe they have technology comparable to ours,” she suggested. “We don’t need ships to travel to another world. We have the gate.”

  “True.”

“So, maybe we’re looking in the wrong place,” she suggested. “We focus our attention on where the Alliance’s money is going and maybe we find our hacker.”

She moved closer, looping her arms around his neck. “Of course, you’d already thought of that.”

Constantine smiled. “I was leaning in that direction. As always, you clarified my thoughts.”

“Glad to be of service,” she teased then grew serious. “Have you heard from Shi?”

“They arrived safely in Miami and are in route to the yacht.”

“Do you think we made a mistake letting her team up with Leonidas?”

“It was on your recommendation. And he has proven himself worthy of trust many times over since the reconciliation.”

  “It’s not that,” she said.

“You were part of her training. Do you not think her competent?”

“Oh, she’s competent. She’s downright dangerous. But—“

Constantine smiled. “You fear danger than comes from within.”

  “He’s pretty potent.”

Constantine pulled her tighter to him. “Should I feel jealous?”

Resa laughed. “You know better than that. But I know Shi and she’s drawn to danger, not to mention having a thing for powerful men.”

  “Like her mother?” he asked.

“Like her mother,” Resa agreed and gave him a look that had him willing to set aside thoughts of their enemies. Regardless of the years they’d shared, no amount of time could dim the fire between them.

And right now, the flames of that fire galvanized hunger that only she could slate.

“We demand that the funds be returned immediately!”

HE grimaced at the rise of the man’s voice. He was virtually shouting into the phone.

“The transfer is taking place even as we speak.” HE assured his client.

“Next time verify your data,” the man warned.

“Oh, I shall,” HE assured him and ended the call.

It was only after that he allowed his rage to be released. By the time it was spent, the room looked like it had suffered an explosion. HE regretted that he’d destroyed his equipment, but then this was only one of many secure locations he’d established. He’d just burn the building to the ground and relocate.

He wasn’t upset about losing the money the Alliance had paid. He had more of that than he needed. What infuriated him was that his efforts had been detected. He thought he’d covered his electronic tracks. The V’Kar were more adept than he gave them credit .

They’d transmitted a packet of bogus data, an electronic bait, as it were, to try and trap him. Fortunately they were no closer to discovering his identity or location than they’d been in the beginning. But now they knew their network was not secure and data would not be transmitted.

He wanted that data. Not for the Alliance, even though they thought so. He was interested for himself. Like a true strategist, he intended to use the data to destroy both factions in this battle.

The Alliance served a purpose for the moment, and could possibly be of use in the future, but at some point they would need to be eliminated. The V’Kar were the most pressing threat. They needed to be eliminated.

HE activated the self-destruct via an app on his phone and left the building. He was already comfortable in another location when the charges detonated, clearing nearly two city blocks.

That he killed countless innocents meant nothing. The human authorities would investigate and in the end discover that the building belonged to V’Kar International, a property they’d bought some years ago but had not developed. He’d been renting space in it for nearly six months. Right under their noses and they never suspected.

That amused him. Now, as he sifted through the intelligence his viral program had ferreted from their system, he laughed. How foolish they were thinking they could trap him. Transmit bogus data that was tagged to send a locator signal to their home server once accessed.

He’d circumvented the trap, even found it a challenge. What he found amusing was that they’d been forced to fall back upon archaic methods to deliver their data. They were using couriers.

How antiquated. But then, he considered, that opened up new challenges and fun. He was in need of stimulation. What better than two V’Kar to capture and watch die?

HE laughed in delight. This might be fun.

Shilah pulled away from Leonidas and stood, adjusting her bikini. This business of putting on a show for the crew of the yacht was creating a strain. She and Leonidas kissed, and generally had R-rated foreplay whenever anyone was around, to all appearances a coup
le that couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

Yet, at the end of the day when they were alone in the master suite, the play ended and they were nothing more than agents assigned to a task. Well, at least on the surface that’s what they were.

Inside, she was a seething mass of arousal that couldn’t be sated through masturbation. He had her wound so tight, she was ready to explode. If that were not bad enough, she suspected he knew it.

She tried to keep her mental shields fortified so that he did not clue in to the fact that much of what she did with him was not an act. The man activated hunger that was damn near impossible to control.

She dove into the pool to cool off. Damn him, he followed. Before he could get his hands on her, she swam to the edge of the pool and climbed out.

“I’m going to go in a read for a while.”

She knew it didn’t sound loving, or even inviting but damn it all, she’d had about as much as she could take for one day. At this point she found herself wishing they’d be attacked at sea by pirates or that the Alliance would launch a sea battle. Anything to quell the fire in her blood.

She hurried to their suite, peeled off her bikini and threw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. She had just opened the refrigerator in the galley to get a bottle of water when she felt him enter.

  “Your departure was rather abrupt.”

“Whatever,” she said as she snatched a bottle of water from the refrigerator.

  “Whatever?”

“Yeah, whatever.” She marched passed him into the lounge and threw herself down on the sofa.

He followed, taking a seat across from her, his long legs stretched out in front of him. With only a towel draped around his waist, he presented much too tempting an image.

“Put on some clothes,” she barked.

He laughed. “So much for the consummate professional.”

Shilah’s temper had been looking for an excuse to flare and his sarcastic statement was just the provocation she needed. She bounded to her feet. “Fuck you!”

  “You wish.”

A wild scream erupted from inside her, followed closely by the sound of shattering glass as she hurled the bottle of water across the room. She stormed into the bedroom and released her rage. Within minutes the room was well on its way to being in shambles.
