As to the anachronistic wild boars and highwaymen—only after I had written them into the novel, I found out that it would have been very unlikely for Charlie to run into either of them. But because I had already had so much fun with both species, they stayed in the novel. What is more, given that the wild boars were clearly fictional, I found myself justified to make them rather more bloodthirsty than their real-life counterparts. The latter, however, have indeed become a problem in some parts of some countries: several years ago I watched a documentary about the wild boars roaming through the gardens in the suburbs of Berlin.

Springtime Pleasures is my second self-published novel, and I would like to thank all the wonderful indie writers who so generously share their knowledge and experience on their blogs, in workshops, and on e-mail loops. Thank you for all the help and encouragement you give to others!
I would also like to thank my lovely new editor, Bev Katz Rosenbaum, whose insights and advice helped me to make Springtime Pleasures a stronger novel
Last but not least, I owe a huge thank you to Alexandra Velten and Rainer Nagel for their generous assistance in my (hectic) last-minute research on what the great Sphinx of Giza looked like in 1817. Thank you for coming to my rescue!

BEWITCHED
“Enchantment and romance abound in Schwab's captivating tale of a spell gone wrong, a love potion gone right, deceit, revenge, black magic and redemption. Her romance captures the aura of the Regency and the essence of a paranormal, which should make it a surefire hit with fans.”

4-star review
Sweet passion...
After a magical mishap that turned her uncle’s house blue, Miss Amelia Bourne was stripped of her powers and sent to London in order to be introduce into polite society – and to find a suitable husband. Handsome, rakish Sebastian “Fox” Stapleton was all that and more. He was her true love. Wasn’t he?
...or the bitter tase of deceit?
At Rawdon Park, the country estate of the Stapletons, Amy began to wonder. Several inexplicable events suggested that one sip of punch had changed her life forever – that this love, this lust, were nothing but an illusion. She and Fox were pawns in a mysterious game, and black magic had followed them out of Town. Without her powers, would she be strong enough to battle those dark forces and win? And would she be able to claim her heart’s true desire?
