Vindicated (A Jenny Watkins Mystery Book 6) Page 22

by Becky Durfee

Once again Jenny grew quiet, Elanor’s absence made painfully clear by the silence. “I wish there was a way I could repay you for everything you’ve done for me.” Jenny smirked and added, “Although, I know you would say that I already have just by using the money to help people. Even Zack is into it…you should see what he did to Rob Denton’s house.”

Jenny stopped her speech once again, but this time for a different reason. “Hang on,” she said. “I’ll be back.” She smiled and shot a parting glance at the birdhouse before darting back inside. She headed for the small tribute she’d created for Elanor and Steve, carefully removing the only photograph she had of Elanor from its frame. She studied the image for a moment, smiling at the woman who went on to touch so many lives, even long after her own was over.

  She really did miss Elanor.

Remembering her mission, she headed straight for her scanner, placing the picture of Elanor on the screen and saving it into her computer. After a few keystrokes she began an email to Rob, simply entitled:

  For your hall of fame.

  To be continued in Possessed.
