  Chapter One

Jenna helped Jeri with the rose buds in her hair, and stepped back to admire her childhood friend in her wedding dress. The heavily beaded strapless bodice looked wonderful and complemented the straight silk skirt. Jeri looked gorgeous in the dress, elegant and just -- well, Jeri. Jenna knew she couldn’t have carried off the gown, not with the amount of pearls and crystals on the bodice. She laughed to herself just thinking of trying.

“What are you smirking at, Jenna? Is something wonky?”

“Nope, sister mine, just imagining me trying to get away with that dress.”

“You do yourself a disservice. Of course you could have worn this,” said Jeri. “But I have to say the one you are wearing looks fabulous on you.”

Jenna took a look at herself in the mirror and had to agree with Jeri. Her princess line silk dress with its delicate lace detail across the neckline and straps did suit her. She hadn’t felt comfortable in the more heavily decorated dresses both of them had tried on.

But this one. Oh yes. She especially loved the little silk chiffon jacket she would wear when they had to go outside.

Not that it would be for long, just to get a few photos taken before coming back into the manor for more. At least the day was sunny but very, very cold. But what did they expect for the fourteenth of February in Scotland?

Turning around as the door opened, Jenna smiled at the two women who entered.

“Both of you look spectacular,” said Kerry, one of the pack females.

  “Beautiful,” said Alanna.

Jenna grinned at Jeri. Both of them were so lucky. They had made good friends with the members of their mates’ pack, especially these two. Kerry worked with Jeri at the surgery and was the district nurse for the area, and Alanna was the assistant head of the local primary school.

“Well, girls, nearly everyone is here.”

Alanna walked over to stand in front of Jenna. “Turn around and let me put the rest of the flowers in your hair, Jenna.”

Little flutters of nerves were gripping Jenna’s tummy. Oh, not at the thought of marrying Xavier, never that. She loved him totally, completely. But at the thought of the final act, the one that would occur when all the human guests had left… Xavier claiming her in front of the pack and making her a werewolf.

She remembered his words yesterday before he had left with Theron to stay at one of the pack member’s homes.

Everything will be fine, love. There is no need to be embarrassed or afraid. After the first few moments you will forget the others are around, and only be aware of the two of us.

Jenna knew he was right but it was just her inherent shyness taking over.

  “There, all done,” said Alanna.

Jenna looked at her hair arrangement in the mirror. Alanna had done a wonderful job with the flowers. Breathing deeply, she noticed Jeri doing the same and caught her eye. Reaching for Jeri’s hand, Jenna said, “Well, this is it. No turning back now.”

“I wouldn’t want to Jenna, and neither would you,” Jeri said with a sheen of tears in her eye. Then added sadly, “I just wish…”

Jenna squeezed her hands. “I know, Jeri, I know.”

Both of them had lost their parents seven years ago in the same accident. The accident had brought the two of them closer than even blood sisters. Until they had met and fallen in love with Xavier and Theron, they thought they would never find that one true love.

A knock at the door brought the news that all the guests had arrived. It was time to join their future husbands.

  Chapter Two

Xavier glanced impatiently at the door before turning around to face the front again.

“They won’t be long now, Xavier. Stop fidgeting,” Theron said quietly.

  “You don’t understand. Jenna was…”

Theron broke in, “She will be here, don’t worry. She loves you and wants to marry you.”

Xavier sighed deeply. How to explain his concern to his brother? Then all his worries flew out the window when he scented his mate drawing near. He turned around at the same time Theron did. Both were stunned at the picture of beauty their mates made.

The music from the bagpipes started up as Jenna and Jeri walked down the centre of the room toward them. They had decided they would rather do it this way… together as neither had a male relative who could do the honour. He had to admit that it was a wonderful idea.

When Jenna placed her hand on his arm, everything and everyone around them vanished. All that he could see was his mate beside him. It took all his concentration to follow the words of the minister who was officiating their wedding. But he must have given the correct responses because after what seemed like a moment, they were pronounced man and wife.

The signing of the registry went quickly, both couples being the other’s witness to the ceremony. Once the photographer had given the all clear and let them know he would return later, Xavier took the opportunity to steer Jenna into the little nook in-between the main staircase and the corridor to the back of the manor.

Taking her face in his hands he said, “You look beautiful, Jenna. Not that you don’t look beautiful all the time, but today you are radiant.”

Jenna pulled his head down and answered him in a delightful way. She licked his lower lip before nibbling on it, and then covered his mouth with her own. Xavier took over from her, his tongue dueling with hers as he stroked his hands up and down her arms, catching her husky moan in his mouth.

Jenna broke away. “I love you, Xavier.”

That said it all as far as Xavier was concerned. He couldn’t wait to be alone with her tonight. But first they just had to get through the line-up, then the toasts, before the main event of officially mating.

  * * *

Theron pulled Jeri in the direction of the nook beside the staircase, and wasn’t surprised to see that Xavier had beaten him to it. He supposed he should go find another hiding place, but to hell with that. He wanted to kiss his beautiful wife, and nothing was going to stop him.

  “Move, it’s our turn now.”

Theron laughed at Jenna’s surprised expression. She giggled before grabbing Xavier’s hand and told him to leave them to it.

Bending down he kissed a grinning Jeri, being careful not to disturb her hair. No telling what would happen if he knocked out one of the flowers. He loved her wedding dress. It suited her down to a tee, and she looked stunning in it.

All too soon he heard Ethan, the third of the Lochinver pack, call his name.

Breaking away from his kiss, Jeri sighed as she said, “I suppose w
e have to go greet our guests now.”

“Yeah, we were lucky to get the five minutes we just had. Come on, it will soon be over.”

After standing in line and shaking what seemed like a thousand hands, Theron was glad when the catering organiser came over to let them know that everything was ready for the meal.

Sitting down with a sigh, he covered Jeri’s hand with his own before looking around as everyone found their seats.

It was amusing to see his pack and their human friends from the local community mix. He wondered how the humans would react if they found out there were shape shifters in their midst.

Taking Jeri’s hand and leading her out on the first dance was delightful. He could hold her closely in his arms and it was perfectly acceptable to everyone. He breathed in her fragrance, pure Jeri through and through. How he loved her; it didn’t bear thinking that they might never have met.

“What’s wrong, Theron? You went tense for a moment.”

“It’s okay, love. Just wondering what it would have been like if we had never met.”

He felt her start. “Somehow I don’t think that would have happened, Theron. If I have learned anything since meeting you, it’s that a shifter always finds their mate,” she whispered, then reached up and gave his jaw a quick kiss.

  Chapter Three

Jeri and Jenna walked out of the door to find Theron and Xavier waiting for them. It had been a thrilling day, first the wedding, then the reception.

Now that everyone had gone home, to either sleep, or in the case of the pack members, change, it was time for the final ceremony of the day.

Taking Theron’s outstretched hand, Jeri reached up and planted a kiss on his mouth. Before she knew it, he had taken her in his arms and to say his kiss rocked her was an understatement. The thrill of pleasure that his closeness gave her only emphasised her love for this man -- wolf.

She had to stop him before he took her in the hallway. Breaking away, she glanced over at the other couple and was pleased to see she wasn’t the only one breathing hard.

Jeri had to laugh. Here she was now a married lady and they were still necking like teenagers on their second date. Jenna caught her eye and she knew the same thought had occurred to her. Both started giggling until tears fell from the corner of their eyes.

“What’s wrong with you both?” Theron and Xavier asked together.

Jeri burst out laughing again at the question. “It’s okay, Xavier. It’s just the relief that the wedding is over. Plus now that we’re married you would think we could wait until we were in our apartment.”

Shaking his head at Xavier, Theron wrapped his arm around her shoulders and steered her out the main door. Xavier followed with Jenna.

The four of them walked over the grass, heading toward the heavily wooded section that made up part of the manor grounds. This area gave a safe place for the pack members to run when they felt the need.

Theron stopped at a particularly overgrown area and turned toward her. “I am going to shift now, Jeri. I will lead the way to the meeting point. You and Jenna follow. Xavier will take the rear. There will be no trouble, but I -- we are not taking any chances.”

Jeri nodded and watched as Theron started his transformation. She had asked him ages ago where his clothes went when he shifted. All he said was that he envisaged himself as a wolf, and when he shifted back, he pictured what he had been wearing before.

Weird. And it would take some getting used to when it was her turn to shift.

First she saw hair spout from Theron’s face, then his face elongated. At the same time his arms and legs changed, and he fell to his hands and knees. His clothes… well, his clothes disappeared and in their place was fur which now covered legs and paws instead of arms and legs. It was amazing to watch. She would never tire of seeing him change.

She had never been afraid watching him transform. All she had to do was look into those deep black eyes of his to know the wolf in front of her was her love -- Theron.

As Theron the wolf butted her hand with his head, she glanced over and saw that Xavier had shifted and was being stroked by Jenna.

Jeri gave Theron’s head a quick pat before he turned and disappeared through the narrow opening that led deeper into the trees. After a quick glance at Jenna, she followed him.

They walked for another half a mile before they came across a large clearing that was filled with pack members. The Lochinver werewolves were waiting for their Alpha and Enforcer to join with their mates.

  Chapter Four

Jenna stopped when she saw the waiting people; they hadn’t changed into their shifter forms yet. Xavier nudged her with his snout, and she took a deep breath and walked quickly to join Jeri.

For some reason the clearing seemed warmer than the rest of the forest. What made this place so special to the shifters?

Jeri turned around as she stopped beside her, and reached over to grasp her hand. Jenna was glad she was not the only one who felt nervous. This was such a life changing moment.

Drawing a ragged breath, she realised that this was the moment her relationship with Xavier had been leading up to. From that first glance into his dark eyes in her library, this was where she’d been heading. This was the culmination of that moment.

She trusted him. And that was enough for her. She slipped her hand out of Jeri’s, knelt down beside Xavier and ran her fingers over his silky fur. Looking into his eyes, she said, “Sorry for being so scared before. I love you and want to be your mate in all ways.”

The look of joy in his black eyes and the big wet lick he gave her jaw told her that she had set his mind at ease.

Ethan came over to join the four of them.

“Everything is ready, my Alpha. If you will follow me, the ceremony can begin.” After saying that, he backed away from them, always keeping his gaze lowered.

Xavier had told her about the position she would have in the pack, and of course the one that Jeri would take up once they were mated. Jeri, as Alpha female, was the ruler of the women. No way could she call them bitches, even though Xavier said that was what they were called.

As for her, she would be second to Jeri, as Xavier was second to Theron. If Jeri wasn’t available, she would have to deal with anything that came up.

She was not looking forward to that aspect. She liked the pack members, but wouldn’t want to be the one to have to discipline anyone. Not that there would be any major problems in this pack. Everyone in it was so kind; the troublemakers had left years before.

Xavier and Theron had transformed again. Now the human Xavier took her hand and led her behind Jeri and Theron toward the centre of the pack.

“We are gathered here to witness the inclusion into our pack of our future Alpha female, Jeri, and our second female, Jenna. If anyone has cause to reject their addition to our pack, now is the time to speak.” Ethan glanced one way, then the other and back, before continuing, “As no one here declines their application, all that I am left to say is this. Alpha and Enforcer, please convert your mates.”

Jenna turned to Xavier as his arms came up to her shoulders to pull her closer. His scent was stronger than normal, earthier, woody, more male. His kiss put everything out of her mind. She fell into him as she always did. Jenna loved the gentle touch of his hands as they ran up and down her sides before slipping beneath her jacket and cupping her breasts.

Xavier slipped her jacket over her shoulders and she let it slide down her arms until he pulled it away and dropped it on the ground. Jenna closed her mind to everything and everyone but him and his touch.

Her jumper was next. Xavier lifted it by its hemline and pulled it upwards. He placed little kisses on her torso as it was revealed. Jenna shivered when his warm mouth touched her bare skin. He let her jumper fall to the ground, then turned his attention to her cami covered breasts.

Xavier palmed Jenna’s breasts through the silk, and bent down to take one prominent nipple into his mouth. He teased the hard nubbin through the damp f
abric before moving to its twin. Jenna twisted her fingers through his hair, gasping when he nipped the tip between his teeth.

He lifted the cami up and over her head, exposing her firm breasts to his eager eyes. Again he lowered his head to her bare breast and sucked on her nipple, gently at first, then with stronger suction until at last he heard her moan of enjoyment.

He unfastened her jeans and slipped them past her hips. Planting kisses as he made his way down to her belly button, he swirled his tongue in the little indent before sliding her underpants down to join her jeans.

Jenna placed one hand on his shoulders and let him undress her. She kept her gaze fixed on his face. Xavier could tell she was doing as he told her yesterday. Only focus on him. Not on anything around them.

When she was stripped, he buried his face in her pussy, licking over her labia lips before moving her legs wider so he could lap up all her juices. Moving up slightly, he drew her clit into his mouth, scraping his teeth over the protruding bundle of nerves. Then Xavier slipped his tongue into her warm depths, shifting it to shifter length and thickness.

  Jenna moaned.

He withdrew his tongue and then entered her once more. Xavier wished he had more time for play, but he had to be quick or she would start to feel the cold, even in this sacred place.

Drawing back, he stood, gave Jenna a kiss, and then started to remove his clothes. He arranged both sets of discarded clothing on the ground, then pulling her toward his body, he whispered in her ear, “Get on your hands and knees on the clothing, little love.”

Jenna grinned at his words, then without hesitation knelt in front of him.

He ran his hands over her back and down her side before getting into position behind her. Running a finger over her pussy lips then lightly touching her distended clit, he made sure she was still with him. That he wasn’t rushing her too much.

To his delight he found her as wet and as moist as before, the little backward motion of her hips telling him she was ready for his possession. Eager for the next important step in their relationship.
